Midnight, your poor sister. That looks so painful, I hope she gets better real soon.

Jenn, Aly, Chrissy....... I will be with you in spirit and I hope that you really enjoy your travels. ((hugs))

We had a lot of rain overnight, but the sun is shining and there is no wind. Hubby has taken the dog for a romp by the beach and I am having a rare day at home. So i will be planting my bulbs and baking scones today, lol xxx

I hope everyone has a brilliant day.

Oh Mandy!  Your poor sister!!!  She is so lucky she hasn't done more damage!  I can imagine just how painful that is and hope that she heals really quickly.

Aly how long are you going to be away for?   I know at some point you did say but I can't remember.  Have fun, enjoy your visiting and take care.

Must be getting used to the cold weather as I only lit the fire an hour ago........lol.  I don't know where my energy has come from these last few days but I'm slowly catching up with all the things I've been putting off for ages!

I bought DH one of those wide neck thermos last week and he is being such a good boy and heating up soup and stew that I made and put in the fridge for him for his lunches.  He was getting very lazy with his eating and had started to make little forays over to the bakery each day........not good for his waist line I can tell you!

I am seriously considering checking into meals on wheels for a few weeks after my op as I know I will get very frustrated with DH in  the kitchen and last time I put myself through a lot more pain than I should have had trying to make sure we were fed.  My thinking is if the main meal is done I can use frozen veg etc to make soup for lunch so I wont be standing for too long.  I think I'll make some phone inquiries next week when I get back from the city.

Mandy good to see you taking it easy......lol.

    Love n hugs all!   Chrissy

Chrissy, take a look at LiteNEasy too. We always have some of their meals in the freezer for emergencies, you don't have to join up and the food is a great balanced meal, with a huge range available in large meals or smaller meals in a bowl or soups. If ever I am away, Colin can have the carer put one in the Microwave for him. We find them really convenient because we have very different tastes, so we can each order exactly what we like.

Midnight, I am so sorry to hear about that accident. Your Sister must be in a lot of pain from that.

It has been raining all day, so no outside work for me today. Just watched some taped episodes of Fargo. Take it easy everyone

amazing to watch the pink lady at the MCG tonight. Great to keep raising awareness especially so close to Mother's Day. I love hearing the different stories it's great to see women and men being so open and honest about how breast cancer touches men women families and the whole community. I was reading about a female surgeon who was in the Middle East and saw so many women who came in with very advanced breast cancer because they were so ashamed to be checked any earlier . She returned to the Middle East to speak out and encourage women to check their breasts and go to a dr instead of hiding their illness until too late. The survival rate in the area went up because of her and other female doctors speaking out. A great outcome I think have a great Mother's Day tomorrow xx

    Hi all

I had trouble with my garage roller door the other day then this morning it wouldn't open. Had to get a lady from work to pick me up as couldn't get my car out. Dad came round and he couldn't open it either, he got someone in to look at it and it needed a whole new opener, cost $800. Not a good start to the week.

hi girls......yes it's been awhile! I'm in hospital at the moment & have taken the the opportunity to read through all the posts. Some I knew of from Facebook but have caught up on the rest.

So sad to hear of Gail's passing.....it seemed to come as quite a shock & I do hope her son is managing as best as he can. RIP dear Gail.

As Chrissy has told you all, I now have my much loved & beautiful grandson. He is nearly 9 weeks old now & such a joy.

Health wise things haven't been great. They thought they were going to lose me not long after the birth of Jaxon! I lost 8 kilos in a week or so but am slowly gaining some back again. I have improved immensely but need part time care, the GP comes weekly to the house to check on pain, meds etc, Silver Chain come once a week & I can't drive....grrrr!! Most frustrating is I can't look after my family.....I'm actually in hospital at the moment having blood transfusion & IV anti biotics 3 times daily as I had an infection & my heamaglobins are so low I could barely walk & puffed & panted constantly. I was at the point where I had to get my daughter to type my Facebook posts!

We have tried different chemo's & have finally found one that is keeping me stable.......for now! They don't know how long my body will cope with the chemo. The docs have given me anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, obviously depending on how the chemo's work. Of course I'm hoping for months or more!!!

Anyway, thought I would check in & update you all. I hope I haven't bored you all.

I still have the joy of my grandson & tremendous love & support from my family & loved ones.

Big luv n hugs to all & know I think of you all daily.

    (((Hugs)))

Karen its so lively to hear from you! Boo on the infection but hopefully the treatment will soon get rid of it.  Im so glad the docs have found a chemo that is keeping you stable, hopefully for as long as possible.

Yes you really gave everyone a scare but its just wonderful that you have recovered enough to spend more time with your beautiful boy.

Sending love, encouragement, strength and good thoughts.  (((((((Hugs)))))).  Chrissy

Sad news today, a work friend just found out her sister has liver cancer, four years after her breast cancer diagnosis.  The worst part is she started having symptoms in January but only got a scan this week as her Doctor thought it was an ulcer despite her history and she's had to wait which is apparently common in the UK.

    I hate this disease.....

Tammy I'm so sorry to hear your sad news.  Take heart, now they know she can be treated and stage IV is not an instant death sentence.  Love to her and I know once she starts treatment she will learn that life can and does go on.

I'm so pleased with myself as I'm almost totally organized ready for my op and the recovery period afterward.......lol.....yeah I know, control freak me......hahahaha!   it really messes with my head if I'm not organized.  I have an appointment with the people who do meals on wheels here on Monday morning as I have decided to take the pressure off DH and have our main meal delivered for the first four to six weeks as my memory tells me they were the worst........after that, I should be reasonable to stand around and cook.   I've had the lumbar xray and only the blood tests to do next week Friday.

The sad part of this for me is I'm going to have to make the hard decision and have my old cat put to sleep.  She is now very badly effected with the cancer on her nose and her dementia that she really doesn't know where she is anymore and gets really confused.......so sad to see as she is still healthy other than that.  She is twenty three and it is really hard to let her go but I know it's the right thing to do as she is now not having good quality of life......sigh.......I was hoping she would go naturally in her sleep but it seems not.   :(

    Love n hugs.   Chrissy

Tammy - that's so sad to hear about your friend's sister. This is a horrible disease!

Chrissy - you?? A control freak?? Really?? I would never have guessed lol. Remind me please - when is your op?

It's always a horrible decision to make when we have to put one of our furry friends to sleep, 23 is such a good age for a cat though! You've looked after her well to get her to that age. We know when it's time, and they usually let us know that it's time too, but that doesn't make it any easier ((((hugs))))

Absolutely beautiful weather here in Canberra this week. Crisp, cold nights and lovely "warm" days lol if those of you up north can call 18 degrees "warm". The trees are just so spectacular in all their autumn glory, it's a great time of year, and I'm loving it at the moment Smile

    Trish
