Oh Aly, you naughty girl! Gardening when your back is so sore?! Really?! Time to tie you down me thinks.....lol. Just keep knitting and no heavy stuff!!! Ya hear?!!

Tania the years pass but the fear of return never leaves......it just gets put to the back of our minds until scan time so you are definitely not alone in having the feelings you do. Good luck with your mammo in April! Yep, hot here too but I don't have a pool to cool off in just my air conditioner.....lol. On these hot days I'm afraid I don't leave the house.

    Love n hugs all! Chrissy

Hi ladies, long time no posting from me but I do try to keep up reading your news.

All is well with me. As you know, I don't like to say too much here as I am incognito, but those of you who are my friends on Facebook will see me post from time to time there.

Sorry I didn't make it to Auckland. I had several trips away last year for holidays and didn't think I could manage another one. I'm glad y'all had a great time. I might go to Melbourne as I often go there around that time of year to visit family.

Jenn, I'm so happy for you nearly finishing your degree. That will be a big party occasion!

Trish, good luck with the new mystery venture.

Chrissy, how exciting about your travel plans. The south of France is devine, especially if you get to the Med. I hope your desire for recon can be achieved.

To the new ladies, Terry and Elaine, who are having emotional issues, please consider counselling. You should be able to get some free sessions through your Cancer Council. I had counselling regularly for about two years after bc. It can make a huge positive difference if your counsellor is a good fit and has experiencein post cancer trauma. I also continue taking an antidepressent, even though I am 4.3 years since diagnosis. I'll never fully get over it, especially the hair loss!!!

Gotta go as lot to do. Sending best wishes to y'all. Racy x.

Hello Tanya - great to see you here.

Chrissy (Pot), meet Aly (Kettle) lol. You both do far too much! Aly - I'll be thinking of you, I hope you can get an appointment soon to see what's going on. In my prayers xoxo

Racy - you reminded me! I'm sorry I didn't update you all on my mystery venture lol. I did a lot of research and decided against it. It's still sitting on a backburner, in case a few things change, but at this stage I'm not starting on anything new. Is that all as clear as mud to you all?? lol

It's been strange weather here in Canberra - we've had very Autumnal weather for most of January and last week, then yesterday was a scorcher. Today is going to be cool again then apparently we are cranking up for some more heat.

They said on the radio this morning that yesterday was the second hottest day of summer. Just goes to show what a cool summer we've had (yesterday got to 34).

    Love to you all

    Trish

    xoxo

    Hello everyone,

I also am guilty of reading posts only and too busy for anything else. It is nice keeping up with everyone this way, but I do wish that we had a "like" button just so that everyone knows that we are still keeping in touch.

Racy, it was lovely to hear from you and keep on being busy, girl. Life is for living hehe.

Hello to the new girls here, and I am sure that you will find this group of ladies very informative and supportive as well as funny at times.

Speaking of funny, hello to Annette, I hope that all is well with you xxxx

Well, my daughter has sold her property in Gawler River and settlement date is 6th March. She sold one horse and is keeping the other one which is being agisted close to where we live (about 40km away hehe - in Myponga for the South Aussie girls). So they are both living with us here in Encounter Bay until my daughter finds a house in the Southern suburbs of Adelaide to be closer to us. Olivia has started Kindy here in Victor Harbor and I am more busier now than before..... I thought that because I don't have so much driving to do, that it would be easier for me hehe. Never mind, hubby and I love having them here.

I did 2 hours of combined swimming and aquarobics yesterday and have halfway cleared out the third bedroom.... must be finished by Sunday ready for the rest of Jennifers furniture to arrive. She is putting most in storage, but beds and tallboys etc will stay here.

Tomorrow is my 6 weekly checkup with oncologist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, and then I will have to book my next lot of scans with them. I will let the onc know, that I have noticed a decline in short term memory as well as some cognitive changes and I hope that it may be dementia . The latest couple of CT scans also did not include the brain, although the mets are still there. I havent had a brain MRI for almost 18 months and this was discussed at our last meeting.

My arm is still huge and the lymphedema is also in my chest, breast and upper back all the way to lower back on my right hand side. I start a 6 week workshop in Unley on thursday to learn as much as I can about lymphedema. I have also volunteered my services to a local lady who is a qualified physiotherapist and is studying her doctorship in lymphedema?? here in Victor Harbor so she will hopefully be practicing on me on a regular basis with minimal cost. win-win all round I hope.

    Love to you all

    Warm hugs

    Mandy xxxxx

    Hi all

Have just heard from Annette. She is not great. In hospital with cellulitis of the breast which is a real problem for someone with diabetes. The surgical team wish to discuss things with her. Think she is very frightened and confused. Will keep you up to date.

Chrissy - have a wonderful time in France, you lucky girl, that sounds so exciting.

Annette - please get better soon. I miss your funny stories.

I just dropped Olivia off to kindy and did some shopping. Now off to Adelaide again for the Lymphedema workshop. I plan to know as much as possible and have better control of my big fat arm (and shoulder, chest, and back lol).

I hope that everyone is keeping well and I am thinking of those that are in Queensland at the moment with the cyclone I believe that is heading towards Brisbane. I hope everyone keeps safe.

    Warm hugs

    Mandy xxxx

Hi all! Been busy planning this trip to France and rang the travel agent yesterday and booked the tickets!! We are going down to the city tomorrow to pay for them and check out what else she has come up with as far as accommodation etc. I emailed her a list of dated and places we wanted to be so keeping our fingers crossed that she has been able to sort some if not all of it out. I'm sort of starting to get really excited now that tickets are done and it is a reality!

Talk about travel.....lol......I leave for Cairns for two weeks in just over a week, actually, tomorrow week to be precise and I still have yet to get some sewing done. Hopefully next week I will have time to sit at the machine and get 'er done.

Aussie, I have the Samsung S4 phone and it's great! There are still so many things that it can do that I still need to learn......lol. Have fun exploring yours!

Hey Aly!! What you doing down in Nelson? How is your back doing? I sure hope that pain has eased.

Well, must keep moving, I need to get to the Pharmacy to pick up all my drugs......lol.......little do those who read and not be where we are understand that by drugs I mean, blood pressure, cholesterol, reflux, AI, water pill, pain pills and the list goes on and really is very boring!

Love n hugs to all! Chrissy

    Hello all

Annette - so lovely to see you here, and so glad that you are now home and on the mend.

Moira, it seems to happening more often lately - we are losing too many wonderful women xoxo

All's good here, I go for a breast MRI on Wednesday, I have an MRI one year and a mammo and u/s the other. See the onc on 20 March.

I've been fairly busy with dog photography, which is great, and life just seems to be getting busier!

Yay, Annette, it is nice to hear from you again.

Trish, I am so glad that you are being kept busy and those photographs on facebook are so adorable.

Chrissy, enjoy your travels and have lots of fun. Keep us informed hehe.

Handover for my daughters house is this Friday March 6th, and so this will be a busy week. All the furniture has been put in storage, the cats are at mums and a pet netting enclosure will be built this Wednesday so that the cats can go outside and not escape. The horse is being agisted, and her dog is staying at my son's. We also have to drive to Adelaide to pick up our new car (Kia Cerato) and I will drive to daughters place after that to help with the cleaning. Then from tonight onwards, our house will be inhabited by 3 females (me, my daughter and my grand daughter) and my poor hubby. Hopefully, my daughter will find the house of her dreams soon.... hehe.

I hope that everyone is keeping well

    Warm hugs

    mandy xxxx

Hi Girls,  i thought i would tell you a funny story of what happened in Hospital, actually the night before i was to come home. Ron came up  to see me and we were bored, so we went for a walk down to ground floor and we went along corridor where all the weekly office people worked and i said to Ron, while there is nobody down here, i am going to have to FART. WELL i did and quite loudly, and just as i was walking i noticed a light on in one of the offices and this lady was sitting there at her desk with this huge grin on her face, talk about caught out.  hubby said  to me, I DON'T KNOW YOU,  we were just about piddling oursselves laughing, i was caught out.  we went back to ward and told the nurses, they just about collaspsd with laughing.  the lady must of come and did catch up work while it was quiet lol  NOT  lol
. HOT HERE AGAIN, muggy really, you woulf have it hotter though over, nothing much happening. here,  hope you all ok. hugs
