It's early days but feeling a bit better than round 1 I think. My taste is off but nothing like last time yet. Appetite has dropped but drinking plenty. Did some shopping today so taking it easy now.
aussie12 I'm on 4 rounds and have already had 2. 50% done. Yay. Not keen for a port for just 2 more. Hormone therapy for me after chemo is over.
Thinking of you Trish. Doing this once is hard enough.Hope everyone has a restful and relaxing weekend. Some crafting and Christmas wrapping for me.
Hugs Donna.

Hi all just checking in to see how you are all doing. Hope things keep going well Donna.
Hugs Carol. Trish pleased you are getting things underway. I am sure someone will do Christmas dinner for you.
Hugs to all.

Glad you have your plan Trish. Maybe think about Chrissy lunch out, so you can take it easy.
I really hope you have an easier time this round. That is really interesting about the chemo. I assume the Oncs consider that initially, but sometimes more info would be good. Big hugs xx

Trish, Carol and Donna.. Thinking of you all.. ((Hugs))
Good idea about Christmas lunch out to take the pressure off!

(((Hugs))) Trish, Carol and Donna
Christmas dinner could also be something easy like cold meats, salads and fruit. We did that last night for my dragon boat team Christmas Party.....

Tammy, your table looks very festive!
Aussie and Smurfette, please continue to take it easy. The day you finish chemo will be a happy day indeed.
Trish, enjoy every minute before you start chemo.
Happy birthday, Chrissy!
Have a great weekend, everyone .

Tammy.. Your party looks great. !! I went on my first Dragon Boat trip at Bribie Island a couple of weeks ago.. It was fun.. but I felt so uncoordinated and useless.. I hit the lady in front of me on her paddle a couple of times..HaHa..😱 I also noticed that her back seemed wetter than everyone else's!!! 😱 I seriously found it so hard keeping time etc.. The ladies were lovely.. Very encouraging.. Said it takes a fair while to feel comfortable.. But I still felt like a dummy.. 😞 How long have you been doing it?
0 -
Lucy, I've been on and off dragon boat paddling for 18mths. When it's hot we don't mind getting splashed...in fact it's encouraged!
It does take time to get into the rhythm and paddle hits are just part of the fun. Keep up the paddling and I hope to meet you in Florence in 2017 for the big international meeting

hi all
just checking in..still no date for chemo as yet which is a good thing!
Doctor said I was looking good when I saw him last week. The femara tablets are still making me drowsy a lot but I'm also on an anti depressant so it may be my body getting used to the higher dose of anti depressants.
One of my pain killers Targin is known to cause drowsiness also. Going to the doctor to see if she can tweak any of them.

Hi Mel, yup, sounds like a littke tweeking could be in order. Glad the Femara is still doing good things for you and hope the drowsiness lifts soon.
Trish, how are you doing? Getting your head around it all? Sure hope so.......hang in there lovely, you are in my thoughts.
Carol and Donna hope you are hanging in there also and you are not suffering too much from the chemo. Take it easy and rest when necessary.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Take care Melp and everyone going through treatment, and everyone else .

Mel - so good to hear from you - so glad the Femara is helping you.
Chrissy - yes, getting my head around it all slowly. Of course I'm not thinking about starting chemo next week. Having a heart scan today, so hoping it's all ok.
Had some more fluid drained on Tuesday and that made me a lot more comfortable. Feels like the really, really tight uncomfortable bra feeling is a lot less now.

I'm hanging in there. The nausea has been worse round 2 I think.
The first week I'm not too bad but once the steroids wear off I slump. Just wishing this week away as I have been very teary, tired; feeling washed out and sorry for myself. Know this will pass and I need to pull my big girl panties up and focus on better days.
Hugs to all, Donna.

Hi all
Donna I hope that you are feeling better.
I had my 3rd chemo today, I felt nauseas straight away and once I got home have been tired. I had a nausea tablet and managed to eat and am feeling better. My hands have been tingling and shaking.
Sad news, my brother's MIL has just died from lung cancer today.
Hope you all have a good weekend.
Carol

Carol, so sad to hear that you BIL's mother died today of lung cancer .....this disease in all its forms is truly evil.
When you see your onc again remember to tell him about the shaking you are having and if it continues I think I would be making a phone call to report it just to make sure it was expected by him. So sorry you got hit with nausea straight away and I'm really surprised that they didn't give you something for nausea before administering your chemo........maybe next time remind them what happened this time.
Take it easy lovely and be kind to yourself, your poor body is under a huge stress right now so it's no wonder you are tired.
Donna how are you? Sure hope you are managing okay.
Trishy girl you are in my thoughts. ......hang in there lovely one.
Love n hugs to all! Chrissy

Donna you are probably having a steroid crash. That happened to me last time, and they then got me to take extra - but at a reduced dose for a day or two after to wean me off them, and the crash didn't happen.
Carol - I'm so sorry to hear about your brother's MIL - it's a shitty disease. Chrissy gave you good advice - make sure you tell your onc before your next treatment.
I'm doing ok - keeping as busy as I can while feeling very tired. Have my good days and my bad days. Chemo starts on Thursday, and I'm trying not to think about it lol.

So sorry to hear of your family's loss Carol. How are you feeling today?
Trish my nurse gave me some extra steroids so yes, instead of stopping the day after chemo I can "come down" off them more slowly.
How did your heart scan go? Will be thinking of you on Thurs.
Chrissy I am feeling much better the last couple of days thank you.
Hubby took me out to lunch yesterday and then we did some shopping.
Was nice to get out of the house. I have been doing some craft. It's great to be able to concentrate and focus.
A friend of mine lost her brother to cancer on Tuesday night so that got me down a little I think but have my big girl panties pulled up under my uni-boob and I'm smiling. Hope everyone else is too.
Much love, Donna.

Hi all
Chrissy I had the nausea drug through the drip and still felt nauseas. I asked the Nurse if she had given it to me and she had. I took the anti nausea tablet at home yesterday and I felt better. Just still been very tired.
Donna I went out this morning for a while then just laid down today but have been eating and have no nausea.
Trish best of luck with your chemo.

Off to chemo number one today. Not feeling as stressed as I was the first time around.
Had blood taken from my port on Tuesday and it behaved beautifully, so I don't have to worry about it working right today,

Home after a very long day - that didn't need to be quite so long - hospital accreditation and some things not thought out too well. Waited for four hours while a doctor was found who could sign off on me having chemo!! Not impressed.
Done now though. Home and feeling very, very whoosey. Early night I think - and trusting that Bob can work out my medication lol
Thanks for the thoughts girls.

Hi all
Trish not good news about the 4 hour wait. Hope your feeling better.
I had a bit of diarrhea today and still feel tired. My taste is crap as well, I just don't know what to eat.
I had Centrelink ring me yesterday saying I need to go back with my bank details and a form that they had sent to work. I will go there again tomorrow as my money is running out. The lady on the phone was really nice and said she was trying to get me on Sickness benefits before Christmas, good for a Government department.
Hope that everyone is well
Carol

Oh bugger Trish!! Hope that's not going to happen each time! Rest up lovely and hopefully tomorrow you will feel a little better.
Wow Carol! Not bad service from a Gov. Dept. at all! Sure hope she can make that benefit happen for you. Hope that diarrhea settles soon.
Donna, how are you doing?
Trying to stay cool here but had to go to the city for my youngest grandson's birthday. .......boy! am I glad the car is airconned as there is no way I could have done it otherwise. It was 43! Yup, we are slowly cooking and should be done just right by Christmas. .....lol.
Love n hugs all! Chrissy

Morning All.
I have been very well this last week. Thank you for asking chrissyb. Have seen your temps on the news. Hot again tomorrow I think. Try and stay cool.
Although I have been feeling very well since last Friday I have been running a low grade temp for over a week. Temp is running between 37.4 and 37.7. Rang my breast nurse yesterday as I was concerned they may not do chemo next week if it was in the 37's but she said no; will still go ahead. Was a relief to know. As much as I'm dreading it I don't want my treatment put back.
We are off to Tamworth tomorrow for our grand daughter's 2nd Birthday. Forecast temp is 35. The heat is really bothering me since I started chemo.
That was a wait and stress you didn't need Trish. Hope you are feeling ok?
Glad CentreLink is being helpful aussie12. That's how it should be. Know what it's like when you just can't "find" anything to eat. Taste has been one of my biggest issues and on the worst days I just have milkshakes and smoothies.
Have some cooking to do for tomorrow. Best get to it before the heat sets in.
Hugs all, Donna.

Feeling better today, just feel like I've been run over by a bus lol. And everything tastes like crap - but that's what I expected for the next day, so can only go up from here.

Donna pleased to hear you are doing okay. Enjoy your time with your grandy.....they can certainly put a smile on your face. 😊
Trish glad you have pulled up reasonably well but make sure you just get in that chair of yours and take it easy.
Carol how are you today? Has that diarrhea settled? Sure hope so.
Yep, another scorcher here today and tomorrow as well.....yuk! It's our towns Christmas do tonight but I'm not sure I want to go down to the square........we have a little pagent to welcome Santa and all the kids participate followed by live music and a sausage sizzle. It's a hard decision to make, sausage sizzle and heat or cook and be cool........mmmmm, I think I need to ponder on that one......lol
Stay cool wherever you are!
Love n hugs. Chrissy
