I hope everyone is staying cool too.....and as well as possible!
It was a terrible tornado in Sydney this week and many people have been affected. A friend of a friend lost their roof and there was lots of water damage and their puppy was killed by falling debris....I just hope the fires stay in control....

Donna.. Thinking of you.. Glad your temp won't interfer with your treatment.. Have fun with the grand-babies :-). I've been reminiscing about " the Good Old Days " when the kids were little in Gunnedah the last few days.. I think Christmas is the reason. I went to boarding school in Tamworth for six years..
Trish.. A four hour wait would of been awful :-( Glad you are feeling better today !!
Carol.. Thinking of you too, and hope the diarreah has eased.
Typical Christmas weather here in Queensland.. Went to the shops this morning.. They are Crazy busy.. Have all my perishables for Christmas bought now.. But will need to go one more time to get fruit and a few other bits and pieces.

Hi all
I finally got my Centrelink payment today, about 6 weeks all up. That's a good start to Christmas.
I have my next chemo tomorrow, hopefully I will feel all right for Christmas day.
Happy Christmas to everybody.
Carol

Yay Carol!! So glad you have received you payment as I know how much easier it will seem with money coming in on a regular basis.
Hope you do okay after chemo tomorrow and Christmas day is still enjoyable for you.
We are heading down to our youngest daughter's house for a few days starting tomorrow. I need to pick up the ham from the butcher then pack the car and away we go.....I'm just hoping it's not going to be too hot.
To all you lovelies, I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas!! Hope you have a perfect day.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Had infusion number 3 on Tues. Trouble with veins again and I'm sporting some "nice" dark bruises. Had my Neulasta shot yesterday so hoping it keeps me feeling "wellish". Have to head into town to collect my prawn order, just hoping I can taste them. Also have a GP appointment at 1pm.
Wishing everyone a happy and safe holiday period. May you all enjoy some special time with those you hold dear. Hugs, Donna. xx

Donna, can I come to yours... I love you prawns😉
I had a lovely Christmas! Best wishes

Carol and Donna - thinking of you both. Donna I'm "lucky" I have a port, so no problems with my veins lol. How is your taste now? - and I can't remember what chemo regime you are having?
Carol - yay for Centrelink payments. Our payments from them are "almost" there. My DH has pension payments coming in, which is good, but my disability pension hasn't yet been approved. I have to give them some more paperwork this week - apparently I have to prove who I am lol. I thought I'd supplied them with my passport and licence and medicare card, but maybe that's not enough lol
It'll be sorted soon though.
I had my first chemo on the 17th, and that night was pretty horrible, but the Friday, Saturday and Sunday I was pretty good. Monday I fell in a heap and by Tuesday was throwing up and had to have the community nurses visit a few times for injections. I'm pretty good now though and was able to enjoy Christmas lunch (which was lovely) then lost it last night with the big D, but that's ok I can cope with that, rather it coming out that end than throwing up lol.
I've been sucking on jelly beans - they actually taste ok (even when I was feeling really sick) and gave me some glucose. Funnily enough water is the only thing that still tastes a bit funny, but I'm drinking lots of it.
I hope everyone had a great day yesterday.
Love to you all.
Trish

hi all hope you had a merry xmas. I'm feeling down at the moment because I miss my mum. she lives far away so I don't see her as much as I would like. at the moment she is in Adelaide but she has to put my grandma into a nursing home so she has to stay with them and help my grandpa deal with not having her in the same house as him. I did see her for xmas day but as soon as she dropped me home I broke down. She has been my rock through this cancer thing and when she returns home, the sadness will be even more. we have always had a strong bond but through my sickness I want her even more!! I'm sure you ladies understand where I'm coming from..
I do speak with her on the phone as much as I can but when I'm down a mum hug always makes it better!! people have said its normal because I lived only with her when my parents divorced so its natural we would have a good connection. If I try to remember some good times we have had it would I think make me miss her more rather than less. I only stopped crying a few hours ago.

Hugs Trish. And to you melp27. Sorry you have been so unwell Trish.
Down days suck. I had one yesterday. (Both Hubs and I) Hubby took me for a drive to our Son's today so I had about 4 hours with 2 of my gorgeous Grandkids. Nothing like time with them to bring a smile to my face. Expecting my Neutrophils to start dropping tomorrow. That usually means a big rise in temp for me. Not looking forward to this "middle" week at all. xx xx

Suzie, thank you xoxo
Mel - hope your downer has come back up again. I know what you mean. My mum has been gone for 40 years, but last week, all I wanted was my mum. There's nothing like her when you are feeling sick or upset xoxo
I'm going in for a blood test shortly to check my neutrophils. I'm hoping they aren't too bad so I don't have to have the neulasta shot.
I'm actually feeling pretty good. Tired of course, but yesterday I had a whole day where I didn't have nausea or the big D lol, so it was a great day! I've been losing weight, but that's not a bad thing, I could afford to lose a lot more.
Hugs to you all.
Trish

Mel, I'm sure your Mum misses you too! (((Hugs)))
Trish, great to hear from you and that you are doing OK.
Donna, I hope you enjoyed your Christmas prawns and that this week goes better than you think, fingers crossed.
Chrissy, how is the weather in SA? The fires in Victoria have been terrible but fortunate that no lives have been lost. There was a fire near our country place but the cooler weather and rain in NSW have solved that for now. We're spending some time at our place and then country NSW to get away from the crowds.
Thinking of you all (((hugs)))

Oh poo Trish! Hope you are feeling okay.
Tammy it was a scorcher on Christmas Day but cooled down for Boxing Day........actually we were reaching for a cardy as it got too cool!........lol. It's heating up again now and it's supposed to get really hot by the end of the week.....yuk!!! Luckily there have been no major fires in SA since the Pirey one although a few days before Christmas we had a grass fire go bunta just outside town here but the CFS managed to get it under control with the help of some rain........not sure if the control would have happened without that rain though......a little bit concerning. Hope your little get away stays safe.....it's so beautiful where it is!
Mel, hope you are feeling a little better today, staying busy is the key. (((((((hugs))))))
Donna, hope your neutrophils are at a good level and that you are also feeling better. Sounds like you had a great time with the grands........incredible how they can make you feel a whole lot better just by being.
Carol how are you doing? sure hope you had a nice Christmas and are feeling okay.
We had a lovely time down with the kids and grands on Christmas Day and then we all went to see the new Star Wars movie on Boxing Day.........I WANT THE NEXT ONE NOW!!!!!!........lol. I love all those movies and I can't wait for the next episode. We came home last night and today has been a lazy day just catching up on some zzzz's to recover from all the rush before Christmas..........I'm not planning on doing too much for the next week but I have to be in the city again on Monday for my annual bone scan and mammogram and then see my Doc on Tuesday.......ho hum, and the new year will have started again........lol.
Take it easy all!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Trish, I hope you're doing OK.
Chrissy, I wish you all the best for the upcoming scans. Mine are due early February and I'm already getting twitchy.....
Best wishes to all for a good 2016!

Tammy I don't really worry about the scans, I look at them as just another thing I have to do and if anything shows up?.........well it is what it is and I'll just deal with it. I look at it as 'shit happens'.......lol.
Good luck with yours in February!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Belated Christmas wishes to everyone, we have had all the kids and grandkids here. All quiet now, just the aftermath to clean.
Sending huge hugs to everyone having treatment.
Trish I hope you are feeling a little better, not nice.
Mel, thanks for sharing how you feel about your Mum, I don't think we ever stop needing them x
Good thoughts for a positive 2016, Happy New Year, Kylie xxxx

Hi all
Chrissy I felt tired Christmas day but we had a breakfast this year and I was home by lunchtime and just laid down the rest of the day. I've been feeling really tired still, I went to the shops today and as soon as I got there I felt tired and didn't stay that long.
Trish I was the same at centrelink and had to get an updated birth certificate, I've only paid tax for years but that didn't seem to matter !!!
I'm getting so many hot flushes at the moment that it's driving me crazy !!!
Thanks everyone for your support this year, it hasn't been the year that I would have imagined at the start but hopefully a better 2016.
Happy New Year.
Carol

The worst part of the neulasta shot for me is massive headaches. The bone pain in my legs and lower back are manageable, and so is the headache I get, but it's wearing me down. I'm ok otherwise.
Carol, I had to go back into Centrelink yesterday as they wanted proof of identity again. When I got there, it seems there's a problem with my drivers licence. For some reason it's not showing up on their system when it connects with the ACT Government one. So today I have to go into the ACT Gvt and get it fixed. They were pretty good at Centrelink though, they said once my licence is fixed it should all fix itself up on their system. Now I just have to go back in on the 13th for an interview to assess what I need. So I'm getting there lol.
Mel - great to hear from you.
Hoping Mel, Chrissy and Tammy have clear scans!
Trish

Chrissy, I know shit happens but it would be good if it happened less frequently! lol
Mel, fingers crossed for good scan results!
Trish, good luck with sorting out Centrelink and take care.....
May 2016 bring good results for us all

Wishing everyone good thoughts for 2016 xxx

OMG! Haven't we been quiet then!. ....lol.
Yes and I'm as guilty as everyone else.......you all get it though, life has a tendancy to run away with us at times and it seems that time came......lol.
Well all you girls going through treatment I sure hope 2016 has started on a good foot and you are weathering the storm relatively well......for all the girls standing tall on their own two feet I'm hoping 2016 has begun with a bang and you are chasing your dreams. As for me, well I've had a busy start to the year as usual with scans and specialist visit but I can report that the only thing that progressed was my arthritis......yay!!
I checked my calendar for the first six months this year and I am very surprised at how many days are already booked with things to attend and appointments to keep........I sure hope the end if the year is quieter but I'm not banking on it......lol.
Love n hugs all! Chrissy

Had to surrender my car license last month due to being on strong pain meds. GP thought it wouldn't be a good idea to drive as it was dangerous.
Now that I have less pain I'm off those meds so I'm trying to get my license back. its annoying having to get lifts everywhere it would make me feel better if I could drive and get out the house more.

I'm going pretty good girls. Had my second AC on Thursday and a nuelasta shot yesterday. Haven't been to the loo for two and a half days, which is pretty unusual for me, but taking lots of constipation stuff, so I'll get moving soon.

Chrissy, great result!
Mel, I hope you get your license back soon.....a car certainly provides great freedom!
Trish, I hope things start "moving" soon 😉 It reminds me of a saying when I was at school....Start a movement....eat a prune!

Hi all
I had my 5th chemo on Thursday, I have been feeling pretty crappy. Very tired as usual, tonight have had nausea and hot flushes. It's been very hot here which hasn't helped, hopefully cooling down over the next few days.
The bushfires here have been terrible with over 100 homes lost and now they have found 2 bodies in 2 burnt homes. Not good news at all.
