takeadeepbreath ~ the package I'm waiting for is the WalMart Danskin bras too!!! I'm hoping by tomorrow so I can wash 'em and be ready. And I've been staring at my boobs (more than usual lately too! Just keep wondering how they are going to look! ... I swear one nipple looks just a wee smidge "off" all of a sudden.. so I'm hoping it doesn't get any worse after the exchange. And I forgot about my arnica, darn it! I've been upping the Vit C, A, and zinc and taking my Pectosol potion pre surgery per my naturopath onc's instructions from last surgery.. but forgot the arnica! I'm taking some right now! Funny about those teenagers, huh?! I've been threatening mine that I'm going to come back with "Porn Star" boobs and wear revealing tops around his friends at school.
Megan ~ glad to hear you are still lovin' the ladies!! So do they look much different from what they did right after surgery? Did you have much swelling.. and now they look smaller? Or are they pretty much the same?
lago ~ Colonoscopy? Ugh. Is that just a standard preventative test once you turn 50? I'm not looking forward to that one either!

Thanks Sue! I like your sunny tulip picture.. though I do miss your smiling face

Susansgarden, I'm so excited for you! I just started reonstruction. Haven't even had an official fill yet, although I was filled a little bit at surgery. You must be excited!
lago, my husband had a colonscopy a couple of years ago. he said that the prep the night before was the worst part. The procedure itself was nothing. He was sedated though. The doctor actually asked if he wanted sedation. I can't imagine anyone going thru that without sedation.

Susan I forgot to mention that I am pretty small...I think 29inch ribcage? Im 5'5" and only about 117.....all in my butt and thighs! LOL. Im wearing a 34B danskin sports bra today and fill it nicely.....But I dont feel that big! I am trying not to get caught up in 'measurement' vs 'looking a C"...I just want to have CLEAVAGE Dammit!!! If I buy a small sweater, it fits in the arms and shoulders but is loose around the torso and I hate that.
PS originally said 350 would make me a full B and I can see that happening, looking at my sports bra today if I fill it at 335. I guess its true that everyone is SO different depending on their ribcage size, height and weight and how much tissue they have to work with!!
I was feeling all kinds of sexy today when I went to Zumba and then my BFF and her DD's came in and I thought to myself 'darn'. I wont be trying for THOSE however...she hates them!

Aww, thanks Susan...I should put a new pic out. I always like changing them up.

I did turn 49+1 but my onc told me she wanted me to have one before the feb birthday.. Mom maternal grandmother died of colon cancer and my mom has had polyps removed. Not sure about dad. I think with the added breast cancer diagnosis it makes sense… of course now that Since I'm 49+1 i'ts a no brainer. That's why I waited till after February. No insurance issues.
0 -
You certainly are just a teeny tiny thing Sue! I would think you look much sexier than someone toppling over with DD's!
0 -
...and thanks, kittymamma! .... so when is your first fill scheduled?

ladies, it has been a while. Laughed out loud as I sit at Kung Fu waiting for the seven year to finish! Sue bee I am cracking up that u r going after a C!!!!! After all this, that is what I am thinking I will end up as a C too!
Susan good luck with the exchange....that came up so fast. I have 425 in me and will likey end up with a 475 implant with no fat grafting....though I have a lot of nice juicy fat....10 pounds in fact after chemotherapy. Maybe some grafting later. I will think nice thoughts for an easy and uneventful exchange. So exciting!!!!!
Kung Fu is over. Talk later!0 -
I am so excited for you guys with E-day just around the corner!
BTW I am trying to use the phrase E-day all over the board, so it'll catch on. So do me a solid and start saying E-day. It's like exchange day. But faster to type and also, catchy.
I am not positive I coined the phrase but I'm just saying.
SuebeeBC, do you think you caught the boob greed bug from me? I think I spent time on this thread while I was still contagious...uh-oh...
And hey if they haven't kicked ME outta this thread yet, don't even sweat it girl! I am going to meet my 500ccs babies on E-day, and I cannot wait!

Ah, colonoscopy... the mere mention brings me back to the start of my BC journey. (I had my first colonoscopy 4 days after my life-altering mammogram. Didn't yet know then what I know now.) The prep IS the worst part. To say it is a pain in the a** would be too true and obvious! LOL! Turns out I had 2 polyps, which they removed. Now they want to see me every year. Lucky me, another doctor to see!
On the plus side, the procedure does *not* hurt at all. I remember coming to before they were finished and I asked the nurse to show me the polyp. (The things we do under anesthesia!) Despite the fact that I woke up before I should have, it didn't hurt. Good luck, Lago!
And good luck to the ladies getting their exchanges soon!

As of today, I am at 480 but being monitored carefully. My lower right area is light pink. I am about half way through chemo.
Good news is that the ps and the onc are right next door to one another and friends. They are going to meet this week and work out a plan. Onc says I can have surgery and still continue taxol. Ps didn't know that so going to work that out just in case.
If he goes in, I have told him if he finds simple irritation to just exchange at 475 and be done. If there is infection, then he will have to make a decision (after I give him a priority list based on what it could be-he would expect nothing less from me-lol)
He agrees with all of that. So....now I just wait and see and hope for the best. My blood work counts are all great though, so both docs lean against infection.

by the way, I am looking at the Danskin bras on the Walmart site. Which one is everyone ordering that is wonderful, or are they all good?
0 -
Cameron its quite possible if you were still contageous that I caught the greed bug from you!!! I dont know, after my fill I just knew it wasnt enough. Its so hard to tell with the TE's. PS said not to go by the TE and we will try implants on the other side with a sports bra. I like the E-Day thing. I may use that!
Fluff - I hope its not an infection! Stay positive!!
Im going to go to walmart and try on a couple of bras. My 34B sports bras have an underwire and gets really uncomfortable. My small compression (over the head) bra HAS to go....its too tight. Both are Danskins. Im going to try on some 34Cs while Im there to see how I like the look. Hmmmm. This could be fun!

fluffqueen-everyone and their drs seems to be liking the zip up the front danskin bra...that's the ones I am waiting on!
0 -
I'm waiting on the zip up Danskin's too! Says.. High Impact Racerback Zip Sport Bra. I'm getting a white and a black one to start out, since it sounds like I may be wearing them with clothes for awhile.
I hope it's not an infection either, Fluff .. I am surprised they can do surgery while on chemo?
Annie ~ thanks for the nice thoughts! So do you have your exchange date yet?
Too funny about Cameron being "contagious" with her "C Virus". With the whole "you look a cup size smaller than you measure thing"... I guess I hope I measure out a "C" then... so I will look like a B. ....does this mean I'm infected too?
0 -
Susan that works for me. Of course it would be better if it were the other way around....manage the lovely B's but look like C's? I went to Walmart today to get a Danskin wireless (sounds like a phone) and tried on a C just for jollies...I think I could handle that. I also got a Danskin active top for Zumba....it has white sides to it which give the effect of a smaller waist presumably - but at the same time made my boobs look HUGE (all optical illusion I am sure!! LOL) I definitely do NOT look like a B in this shirt. I think I need to go back and buy one in every color!!!
And if anyone reads music - I was joking today that I am finally a "B natural" instead of a "B flat"...wah ha ha ha.
Oh and a little bad/disappointing news for me today. The PS office called and my next fill was pushed back a week!!! He is on vacation the first week of May. He is also out the third week of may (dont know why - they said it but I was still reeling about May 3rd)....so my next fill will be the 10th of May. UGH these delays are getting OLD. I was getting so excited that my fills were going so fast and well. Grrr.
0 -
Oooooooh... that Danskin tops sounds divine! You should go back for more in each color!
Love the B natural instead of a B flat!!! lol!
Bummer 'bout the delay on fills ... too bad he couldn't have one of his nurses do it?

Susan - the shirts: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Danskin-Now-Women-s-V-Neck-Tee-with-Hair-Ties/15702204
And no, I asked for the friday before but he is in surgery - and since its a military hospital, Im pretty sure everyone else in the surgery clinic is a technician and not a nurse. And its a training hospital so I am always seeing new people in there....I doubt the PS would let ANYone do a fill unattended. As it is, the date is now on a day I signed up for an all day class. I got the early time, but Ill be late for the class. I have to assess how much I want to go to that class now.

Hi girls! I am feeling like I get zero computer time lately, these kids on vacation are really messing with my mid-afternoon BCO 'down-time' ;-) !!!
I DO like the E-day, Cameron...pretty catch,eh?!?!
Fluffqueen - sending good thoughts your way - no infection!!!
Annie - good to hear from you - hope all is well by you!!!
Sue - awww, sorry you have been re-scheduled for a fill, that used to make me crazy, you get the 'fever' of the fills and it is like a supreme letdown to be put off a week,, crazy how it gets so intense, huh? I happily planned my whole week around going to those fills...
Susan, I will be thinking of you tomorrow and am sooo excited for your exchange aka E-day! You will do great and we'll be waiting to hear from you when you feel up to it!!! I'm sooo intrigued to hear about your fat grafting, too!!! We've been so close to eachother's schedules since BMX - it's so great to see another part of this crazy mess of BC finishing up for you, too! Sending many hugs and wishes for an easy recovery!!!
0 -
Susan, all the best tomorrow! Report back when you feel strong enough. Hugs!

Fire-dancer, is that photo in your profile post-exchange? You look hot! I bought the sexiest black dress to wear once reconstruction is over. But, you ladies need to stop me from boob greed or the dress won't fit!
0 -
Yay for E-day Susan!
Sorry about the contagious nature of my boob greed, I love calling it the "C-virus" very fitting!
Sue, that is too bad about your fills He should have a PA to assist him!
You know I actually miss my weekly fills. I only had 6, but I got accustomed to going there. I miss hanging out with the PS, his PA, his RN, and his secretary. Quite the team. Toward the end when they stopped being painful, I'd hit the mall for awhile. Good times.
Speaking of which, I bought the cutest top at Marshall's yesterday. My TE's LOVE shopping! My old boobs hated shopping. Especially the left one. I bet my new boobs will love shopping too!
0 -
Its E-Day!!! I hope Susan, that everything goes JUST GREAT!!! I cant wait to hear about it.
Cameron I am liking shopping too....I was such a small girl (well I gess I still am) that all of my shirts would fit in the arms and shoulders and then hang on me like a billboard. UGH do I hate shopping. I have gotten really good with scarves...I wear them 1/2 of the year...they cammoflague the boobs really well. Now I can start filling out those tops though!
Back to walmart for me. Would you believe that after trying on the B and C cup bras, I took home the C bra? Wishful thinking there!!!
Kitty - keep trying on the dress until you are happy with its look. I have a sweater that is my guide as I keep growing. I bought this sweater last fall with my BFF (yes we bought the same ones - boy was THAT a mistake) and I havent worn it yet. Its waiting for cleavage.

Oh I can't even begin to describe how I feel when i walk into my closet. Not only am I in TEs (so I look flat-chested) BUT i am also *still* in my compression vest (due to healing issues). The darn things (3 of them are white, one is beige) fall just below my neck. Which means I can only wear shirts that are high-necked or that button all the way up.
I look like a school marm most of the time... I've been putting off shopping but I will need to break down soon and get a couple more tops. Ugh.
0 -
I never had to wear a compression vest… although I feel that coming with the exchange. I too have to wear things a little higher than I'm used to because these TEs look like a bad augmentation job. Too high with no transition. I find button shirts wit collars the best.

This is my favorite discussion board. So funny.
I decided to try on a couple dresses for Easter on this gorgeous day. (although now it is supposed to pour and storm buckets, so I am less inclined). I put it over my head and it got stuck on the tissue expanders! Since there is no give, I couldn't get it to budge. I thought I was going to have to get help! STarted laughing in the dressing room. Finally managed to shimmy out of it.
Good news so far is the initial fluid cultures are bacteria free, so I don't appear to have an infection in the right breast. They are checking to see if anything grows which takes a little longer, but he doesn't feel there is any infection. I haven't had any fever at all since last Sunday, so they think that was chemo driven since it was low grade.
I am now filled to 480 and he is doing another fill next week to 540. I think he will keep going fairly quickly to get me to maximum (in my case one over would be 600) in case they would have to do something quickly at some point.
I feel gigantic. We are golfing (I am only allowed to putt) with some friends this weekend, whose husband is a total boob man and my husband's doctor. I told him I am going to wear the tightest golf shirt I can find as he will be very impressed!

First off, 25 bonus points to SuebeeBC for using the phrase "E-day". Oh, btw people, if you use it on a thread besides this one...double bonus points. Uhhh, yeah, it's a big deal-i-o. Chica with the most points wins a free nipple. And you can take that however you'd like, read into it what you will, etc. I bet the uni's are getting ALL excited right about now.
Okay back to seriousness. My mom had to stay overnight at the hospital; she has several ulcers. My poor momma. She is the strongest woman I know. She tells me the same thing, and I just laugh, cuz she's WAY stronger than me.
OMG. Fluffqueen. When I read your post about "doing another fill next week to 540" I felt my face turn absolutely positively 100% emerald green with envy. I was so intensely jealous, it was shocking. I don't think my skin can take more fills...although the PS said I could. So, I struggle with my decisions.

Cameron-I am so nervous about the sizi9ng thing. I do not want to be bigger. PS says 550's would be perfect for me. I Love him, but I was holding one of them in my hand telling him I was pretty sure he was going to make me huge.
Went to Whippetmom who completely agrees with the PS recommendation. So...I am going to let go of my need for control and trust them. Of course, I am not going to tell the PS I am letting go of control. He might not be able to handle the shock, and I don't want him to get too confindent! LOL. I like to keep him on his toes.
With this whole red breast issue, he thanked me for providing him with a challenge. Said things were too easy lately and I eliminated that for him. I told him I expected him to earn the chunk of change he is getting for my reconstruction.

E-Day! E-Day! E-Day! I wanna win Cameron's "booby prize"! .... wait... the prize is nipple? Hmmmm... maybe I'll start a new trend by accessorizing with my 3rd nipple. And Cameron, missed my PS after the fills were done too! Especially because it was 3 months between last fill and E-Day! E-Day! E-Day! Sounds like you are filling your time with shopping. Or should I say your FOOBS shopping! .. and sorry your mom is suffering with her ulcers... glad to hear she approaches it with a tough attitude.
Sue, those T-shirts look like they sure would be flattering!! And I think you should ditch the class it interferes with your fill. Unless the class is a "How To Do Fills at Home". And I had a sweater to guide me too as to when I wanted to stop filling. And what were you thinking buying the exact same sweater as your double D friend?! lol!
Fluff queen ~ I'm just visualizing you giggling in the dressing room with the clothes stuck on your TE's! Too funny! And that's great news that it looks to not be an infection! And 600cc! Wow. We are going to have to kick you off this thread! Just kidding!
Thank you all for your well wishes too, you guys! Okay so hear is the rundown of my E-day!
So I had my "markings" done up the night before and was excited about the number of areas he was marking for fat grafting! I took a pic of it all ~ so I will post it on Tim Tam's site later today. The whole day was SO much different than my BMX day. I was at a "day surgery" facility so it was much more intimate. And I walked to the operating room! I wanted to wheeled in there on a gurney, damnit! Coming out of it, hubby said I was much more alert, and I could tell too! Was able to walk around right away. I honestly think it's the percocet that makes me feel less alert, etc. And when I had gone more than the alloted time between doses.. I really wasn't in that much pain. Honestly, the part that hurts/stings the most is where the fat grafting was done! I could prob get away with just Advil... but I think I'll stay on the percocet for one more day just so I can have a little more time to rest/heal. Another huge difference is how little the pain is in my pecs! After the BMX it hurt to pull up my pants! And I can actually open a pill bottle without wincing! My hubby is threatening to tie my arms down because he thinks I am over doing it already!
Now with the fat grafting, Cameron, I had assumed it was exactly the same as liposuction. But the PS explained to my that in lipo, they are pretty aggressive with the "sucky tube" because they are trying to not only suck.. but damage the fat cells? With fat grafting, they are more gentle because they are trying to "harvest" the fat cells and keep them viable. And I not only have a surgical bra on ... I also have a corset thing around my torso. I'm supposed to keep both on for 72 hours. I did take a little sneak peek and everything looks good! Not too big, not too small, just right for me! There is also much more noticable fullness in the upper pole because of the FG. I will be curious to see how it looks after the 72 hours ~ the boobs AND the tummy! Another thing.. I asked my PS to take the fat from below my belly button.. but he says he likes to "save" that area in came something were to go wrong and the needed to do a tram flap. I go see my PS today for post-op and am looking forward to it! Also, I have the drains (PS always uses them) and I was glad to see the actual "tube" was much smaller in diameter than the first time. And I have very miniscule draining, so I'm hoping to have these snakes outta me by Monday hopefully!
Okay.. I could probably ramble on forever ~ but I'll spare you all! I will go try to post some of the pics on TimTam's site.
