Lol Sas, it's the 28th of this month! Not long now and today my DD informed me that she has changed her mind on the back of her dress and the hearts I did are now the wrong colour.......so guess what?......yup.......I'm madly trying to redo in the required colour.......apparently I need to have them all done by Friday! Well, back to it!

    Chrissy, can't you dye them????

Meece, what is the TV show you are going to? I think the adults will remember the time together a lot longer than the grands will....

I am envious of the SIX nights you get with your grands!! Mine are close enough that I don't get anyone overnight but only see them every 6-8 weeks!! The other in-laws get them overnight(s) as they are far enough away. I've tried explaining that to my kids, that the other guys get more time with the grands, but they don't get it...sigh. I'd LOVE to be with them 24/7!!!

Barbe - you took the words out of my mouth - can't you dye the hearts you already did, Crissy?

I, too, would love to be able to spend more time with my grandkids - I only get to see them about once a year.  Granddaughter's b-day is the 29th of this month, so this weekend hubby and I will go shopping for her gift(s) and get them sent off to her.

Garden, I find that so sad!! I never saw my grandparents until we moved East. They were just like Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy to me until I saw them in real life. I think it should be a law that they have to live at least in the same Province or State as the grandparents!!!

I think it's because of colleges and universities - they spread our kids around too much. My son married the woman he found at university, but she wanted to live where he was from, not her, so that worked out for us. BUT, having said that, HER mom gets my grandson overnight and on long weekends!!

OOooh, meant to tell y'all!! My son is expecting ANOTHER son!! That will be FOUR grandsons as of January 2014!!

I'm certain your daughter is a lovely woman - but I admit that I would probably have told mine "tough".  (BTW, there are also color removers - not bleach - but also probably not good for breast cancer folks to breathe)

Garden she asks very little of me ever so when she asked if I would do them for her is was my pleasure. I really don't mind doing the new ones it just means I have to be a little more frugal with my time between now and THE day as I still have my outfit to draft a pattern for and make as well as cleaning and organising many extra beds as I will have a house full of visitors.

Like all other major events in our lives, our children's weddings are hi lights and she is of an age when I had given up on her finding Mr Right so when they announced their engagement and set the date I was so excited and very pleased that I will be still around and well and able enough to do this sort of thing.

Barbe, it's "The Big Bang Theory."  DS3 is babysitting for us.

They were supposed to be her around 8, now they are 20 minutes late.  How dare they! Wink

The second costume is nearly done.  just four buttonholes and trimming threads.  I can't wait to see them in them...in person!

Just to say I visited Barbe today and she signed the BGPs (big girls panties) Great fun and I am green withenvy. You should see her sewing/craft room. Then she led me astray in a quilt fabric shop!!!!

    about to sign the panties.

What I am going to do is once they have been to Australia I will then send them on to any get together I hear about.

Woohoo! Can't wait to see them BGP's in Sydney! Barbe, looking good girl! I would love to see you craft room........how about some pics?

OMG! What have I done?! Anyone want a quick trip to Aus to help me with my hem? What was I thinking?! Double full circle skirt in satin chiffon and chiffon!!! Talk about slippery! The worst part is trying to even it up without making it a mini!.......UGH!!!!

I'm about to take the scissors to it after measuring all around twice!........I'm trying not to second guess but I think I really need a second person to look at it when I have it on.

Kids will be up tomorrow for a working bee so I'll get the girls to take a look even though neither of them are sewers......they can at least tell me if its even......lol. Back to it!!

Good luck with the hem, Chrissy. Why do we dream up such great dresses and forget about how long it takes to complete them? My DDs always joked that I stitched the last of the hem as they were walking out the door to go to their high school dances. Close to the truth but I usually had them done at least an hour before they had to leave.

I spent the last week with Patch and Lala who made the 12 hour trek here with their parents.  It was a lot of fun but too busy.  Each night we went to a different family member's home for dinner and it seemed like we were always getting the kids ready to go out.  DH put his foot down on Wednesday and said we would not be going anywhere.  Whew!!!  In the middle of this I had my nerve study and another MRI, and we went to The Big Bang Theory. Now that was fun!

When we left the studio we got almost all out to the street when I realized I left my sweater.  DH and I hurried back before they locked the door.  The security guard went upstairs to get my sweater and one of the cameramen came by with his Emmy award and stopped and asked if we wanted to touch it.  Then they stopped us as Jim Parsons got in his car to leave, so we saw him fairly close up.  Then as we walked through the nearly desserted parking lot, we walked by Melissa Rauch within inches.  I was surprised when I looked at hershoes an noticed they were at least 5 inches tall and I still looked down at her.  She's only 4'11" and so petite!  Anyway, we had a laugh that we got a little more close up because of my stupid memory.

I got both of the children's Halloween costumes completed and sent home with them.  Can you believe it, I got that project done six weeks in advance!  That is not like me.  I also made Patch a pillowcase for his big boy pillow so I was somewhat productive.

    What's next....

Meece, amazing how providence stepped in and made your outing more memorable!!!

It was AMAZING to see Alyson (and her DH) in person!! OMG, what a hugger!!!! I think the BGP's are truly a fantastic idea!!! hehehehehe

My craft room is WAY too messy to take pictures of and Alyson can attest to that. I am not ashamed of it, but it is truly a mess. I create best in chaos!!

I have started KNITTING thinking that would slow down my projects while I watch TV but no, I knit as fast as I do anything else...sigh!! It's as expensive as quilting!!!!

Alyson got to see my needlepoint "stained glass" window in person!!

Meece what an amazingly busy week!  I'll just bet that even though you were on the go the whole time you enjoyed having Patch and Lala close enough to cuddle. I sure hope you get some pics of the little ones in their Halloween costumes! When do you get the results ofyour nerve study and MRI?, hopefully it won't be too long a wait.  Your night out sounds like it was a blast and your forgetfulness gave you some memories that you wont forget!........lol.

Barbe a messy craft room just tells me that you are in there often or it wouldn't be messy!.....lol.  I did DH three pullovers last winter so this year I didn't do any.  Next year I'll have to do more for him as he is so hard on his clothes........he's worse than a kid for getting stains on things........lol.

Oh yeah, those of us from down under are all 'huggers'.......lol.

Well it's late and tonight I need to get a resonable sleep as kids are all arriving in the morning and it will be one busy weekend leading into one very busy week!

Love n hugs (yup, more of 'em Barbe.....lol).   Chrissy

Barbe, for a while I knitted for a hospital gift shop. They furnished the yarn and I made new baby things. It was fun and didn't cost me anything.

Barbe, I crochet while watching tv and I crochet fast as well, although the thread snowflakes are a cheap thrill and instant gratification (less than an hour each), one $2.00 ball can do hundreds of snowflakes. The cotton bucket hats for the wig bank take 1-1/2 balls (2 oz) of cotton yarn each about $3.00 ball and take about 3 hours from start to finish. But I love the 50% off coupons from AC Moore and Michaels, if I get one of them, I can buy a large skein (14/16 oz) for about $4 and that will make 4-5 hats if I mix other small left over yarns with them.  I have also made the popular ruffle scarves with the Starbella yarn, one ball makes one scarf at $4 a ball.

Here is my little Butterfly hunter.  He is in cargo shorts and a vest with little butterflies clipped on them.  He is holding a butterfly net however it was not motionless for any of the pictures and I had to crop it out.  He also has a hat to wear but who know where that was at this point.  I just had to pick the basic aspects out of the least blurry pictures.

Here are a couple of fleece hats I am making for the church Bazaar next month. I am calling them my 'furious fowl' hats.  I also have a yellow one in process and have made a couple of leopard hats with ears and long ends that have pockets in the end to put your hands in. I also have a couple of monkey hats that I have made. They all have their own 'attitude' in the looks on the faces. I almost ended up with a 'wild eyed' fowl when I was fuzing the eyes on, one black eye shifted up almost half an inch above the other one but it was still warm enough I could pull it off and reposition it to a more appropriate look.

Well Meece, that's the cutest darned butterfly ever and the little butterfly hunter is just gorgeous!!! It's not hard to see why you are so enamoured of both of them!

Sheila I just love those hats!!!

Well DD has pinned the hem of my skirt for me and as we all know the hem line changes when the clothing is worn as our butts lift it..........thank goodness I didn't cut before I had those extra eyes look at it or I would have indeed ended up with a mini! All sorted now and I can cut and hem with no fear......yay!!!
