    Sheila those are adorable!

Thank you, Chrissy.  I can't wait to see the pictures when they are wearing the whole outfits for Halloween.  I also can't wait to see your dress.

Meece, how cute is that.  Rachel was a butterfly her 1st Halloween.  She was 2 & had been in the States for 9 months.  I put her in purple footie PJs.

I was going to make her a monarch butterfly, but the wings cost 3 times more.  I had to budget and got both costumes completed for the just under what it would have cost for the orange and black wings.

I can soooo relate to the pressure to get the dress done.

They could make a "reality" show about mothers who say yes to making wedding dresses and such and must face the deadline.  It would be an "on the edge of your seat" show just as much as the other reality shows these days.  There is always some panic to meet a deadline.  The thing this show could add would be the melt downs of the mothers when the task is finally done.

See now THAT IS WHY I want a pink one!!! That butterfly costume is so darned CUTE!!!!!!!!!

And Sheila, you are wise with Furious Fowl as those look like Angry Birds to me!!! Well done, sister!!! They should sell really well, what kind of prices are you going to ask? I love the idea of the long ears for mitts. I bought Paul and I a pair of mitts called "INTI-MITTS". It was really just 3 mitts with the centre mitt where we held hands big enough to hold our hands!! We loved it but the kids laughed so hard we got embarrassed to use them....sigh.

Chrissy, what would happen if you just CUT the hem and went with that for one day? Would it curl up without the weight of the sewn hem?

Barbe it probably would but its not the skirt that is my problem right now but the crocheted top..........it's not complete and I'm running out of thread to complete!!!!!......UGH!!!!!!!!! I may have to do a three hour round trip to get to the store to get another ball as there is nowhere nearer to me that carries it!

Getting back to the skirt, now that DD has pinnned it level while it was on I will serge the edge with a fine rolled hem so in reality that will only take about fifteen minutes.

Oh Saturday is coming waaaaaay tooooo fast!!!!!

I agree on the reality show! My heart races when I see how close Chrissy is to the deadline.

I know someone who made her DD's wedding dress. It had little buttons down the back and DD had mild scoliosis, so quite the challenge. Her DH beaded the dress.

I made my daughter's wedding dress.  It was quite pretty.  I spent commuting time sewing the beaded lace onto the satin.  :)  I'll try to find a picture sometime and post it.

I made my own wedding dress, too - but that was for my first wedding.  It was a very simple dress.  I wanted to have a blue flowered dress but my Mom had kittens.  It didn't really matter what I got married in though, it was still a crappy marriage!!  My second wedding we got married in shorts at the JP. Last year I was finishing up the belts of the four bridemaid dresses the morning of the wedding.  My problem is the bridesmaids thought that they didn't need to come for fittings and when they did, they wanted changes, not just in fitting but in style.  I should have been hard nosed about it, but I did what ever I could to make them happy.

I did a round trip to the city today to get more crochet cotton as I ran out! Can you believed that? I totally miscalculated by one ball! I decided to do the shopping while I was down there so that is one job done and dusted........and talking of dusted, when I got home I vacuumed and washed my floors, did the dishes and cleaned the bathroom before I got dinner tonight. Right now I'm just having a breather before carrying on with my crocheting. Back and front ........complete, first sleeve .......2/3 rds done, motifs for seconds sleeve........complete, now just to finish putting it together!

I'm getting there girls, I'm getting there!

Thank you Barbe, the hats are copies of the famous computer game figures. I found a PDF of the faces to tape on colored balloons for party decorations and they fit on the front of the hat pattern I bought. The pattern is a Simplicity pattern #1953 with sizes for adult women and children with 5 different animal character faces on them. I really like this pattern since it is a one-piece hat, not the 6 gore hat like I made in the past. the other pattern was also a simplicity for teens #1795 and is a two piece hat. I made 2 out of a leopard print fleece (using a polar fleece Blanket cheaper than buying yardage)on the outer and solid brown underneath and the pocket has cat paw prints appliqued on the pockets. I made a couple out of a zebra stripe (also a polar fleece blanket) with white underneath and put a piece of black down the back for the mane. I am planning on selling the short (Furious Fowl) for $10 and the ones with the pockets for $15. I of course don't pay full price for the patterns, I wait until Hancock fabrics is having the 1 or 2 dollar sale on the patterns then buy them, so I get 16.95 patterns at a great price. I also went to Hancock fabrics when they were having their 8.99 solid polar fleece on sale for $3 a yard.

Great savings Sheila!! I've been known to use a sheet for the backing of a quilt or afghan if it works as well. Why pay more for extra-wide fabric when it's in a sheet all day long???

It's done! It's done!! Can you believe it? I have just finished the crocheted top and only have to sew the hem of the skirt and I will turn up at the wedding fully clothed!......woohooo!!!!! There for awhile I didn't think I would make it but it's done! It has been wetted and is now drying flat on the airer and today is supposed to be a beautiful sunny, warm day so it will dry well.

Today is set up day.......both DDs and future SIL will arrive in a couple of hours and I have their jobs already listed and waiting for them........lol. Ten family members from Queensland arrived yesterday so last night my little cottage was bursting at the seems but it was good to see everyone again.

Tomorrow is THE day and I will be sure to take loads of pics and share them with you.

Thanks for having faith that I would get the outfit done as I was really doubting that I could.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Well the wedding has come and gone!  After all my hard work it turned out absolutey perfect!  The morning was cool and a little overcast but by lunch time it had warmed up and the sun was out with a gentle breeze blowing.......just lovely!

DD was very calm and just eager to marry the man she loves.  Both my girls looked stunning and I don't think I am being a biased mum in saying that it was repeated to me many times throught out the afternoon and evening. My editing program has decided to not work so the pics may be a little big and if so, sorry........anyway, enjoy the fruits of my labour.

Really beautiful. Love your dress and glad you were able to finish it in the nick of time. What are the little round balls on top of the cake? Is it another cake and that's the icing?

The other DD and grandsons has just left so now it's time to put my house back to rights..........but first a nice cup of tea and a relax enjoying the quiet.

DH scrubbed up well and looked quite dapper in his wedding clothes........I had almost forgotten he's not a bad sort when dressed up as his usual attire is jeans and T's with a pullover ..........lol. Glad you liked the outfit and the girls dresses.
