The girls are getting so big Ducky.

The swim chair reminds me of baby walkers for water. I've never seen those before. What a great idea.

    KatheC,

I've never shared this in public. People who love me very much all say that it's good, so did my teacher. Since they are all totally impartial I've been content to never let anyone else see it! 😉 Since you all know so much about me I figured I'd share something that was more important to me & possibly reflective of me than the fact that I randomly have this fxxking disease. Remember, this is, to gate, my first & only painting. I really love it. I also loved the process of painting it. It did for me all of the things you said that it did for you: it cleared my mind of anything else. Here goes.....

Linda, thank you for keeping in touch here...you are a dear sweet warrior sister who has always shown such grace...I sense peace in your words.   I wish you beautiful, comfortable days filled with family and friends, and sweet memories, old and new. Thanks for encouraging us to do the things that fill our empty spaces with beauty.  For you, I hope you are painting again soon.

While I was away this week, I bought some soft fluffy yarn and a crochet hook...I took it to the beach and started a simple fun pattern.  It gave me such peace and took my stress away...and it was a touchstone to a different time in my life many years ago when I was home with my kids and spent a lot of time creating and giving beautiful things.

Wishing a beautiful day to everyone here...

    Beautiful things being shared here...thanks.

Jo, welcome back to TX - such a big state that you aren't near home yet!  The first time we ever camped, we spent our last night in a motel and enjoyed it immensely.  I felt so good...it was in South Dakota in 1970 and the room was only $4 a night and had a kitchen!  I think campgrounds were going for $2-$5.

I'm ready for that drink ... let's meet around the fire and just enjoy our time together.

this fire is warming my heart. lovely to see your work too, vadre, they are vey atmospheric. and it is very brave of us to show them. i know that no one usually sees mine, unless they come to my house! but i am glad we are revealing more and more of ourselves to each other, this fire is very real to me. and i am glad that we are doing the things that make us happy, like joan knitting at the beach. all good things.

Wow.....such nice things to see and share.........you ladies are the best......this thread is so filled with love you feel it in every post..........I love the fire, whether we are sitting beside it telling our stories.......or helping each other to toss in the  things that drag us down.............

I have no talent, and wish I did..............maybe then the days would not be so long, and so lonely.......but then again sometimes the SE's hold me back.........and it seems....I have been excluded from many things now because I can't keep up.................The heart and mind say  "you can do that".......the body says...."no way"...................and it was only 3 years ago when I could do it all...........

Vadra, Your paintings are lovely. Hard to believe they are your first!

Joan, I used to crochet years ago. It's difficult now with RA in my hands and wrists. I made a lot of blankets in my lifetime. My daughter is a crochet queen. She makes some wonderful things and even does her own patterns.

Ducky, it's so difficult for us to lose our mobility. Like you, my mind can do so much more than my body. Maybe we just need to find other things we can enjoy??? My daughter loves to go shopping. There are times I just can't keep up with her, but I don't want to lose out on the experience of being with her. So, occasionally I let her push me in the wheelchair. It really kills me to do it, but she really wants me to go with her, so I swallow my pride. But, it's not easy - I hate that darn thing.

I think Jo is due to arrive home today. So, Jo.....this is for you!!

I am home.  Thanks Slow for the welcome home.  I am exhausted - heading to bed soon.

Valerie,  Thanks for sharing your painting.  It is absolutely beautiful.  You should do more of them.  You are very talented.

Joan,  I have also started crocheting again.  Did several scarves while traveling.  It sure helped the time go by faster.  If I ever get caught up, I will post pictures.

hi goddesses, checking in after a few days off the boards.  Good to hear from you Linda and thanks everyone for the great pix.  I've been following twinkly's thread about cannabidiol (CBD) oil aka the Phoenix Tears treatment plan.  Fascinating tx from green plants bearing seed (Genesis 1:29) but infuriating bureaucratic hurdles in the way of more widespread availability.  Here's the link.

The fire is nicely banked.  Perfect for a drink with friends. ♥ to all

Thanks for the kind words about my painting, ladies! I have to say, for my first effort, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I'm also very proud of myself for taking on something new...it really felt good. I do plan on continuing my painting classes. I highly recommend taking on something new. Having to focus all your thoughts on something new is a great way to take your mind off of other things! It is like meditation for me.

Linda, it was so good to 'hear' your voice. As someone said, you sound peaceful. I am very glad that you are comfortable with your plans. I am sure that you have loving people by your side, you certainly have many here. All my best.

Awww Ducky, those pix are precious!  I can't believe the height on those kids....(one of my grandsons is 6'4" and every time I see him I still think "wow, you are tall")

Vadre, the fact that the picture you shared is your first makes it just that much more amazing.  Don't stop - you have a lot to give the world!

Badger, thanks for the link.  I followed it and learned a lot.  Wouldn't it be ironic if the one drug tha country is determined to keep banned is the one that could stop the spread of cancer?

I had my 3 ;year mammo today.  I am never nervous; but today I was.  I'm happy to say it is normal and I am grateful.

(((Linda))) thinking of you every day.

    Good Morning
    Goddesses,

Sorry I've been MIA for a bit. Today is a
    bright and shiny new day!!

    Kracker, the
whole Marijuana thing is interesting. When I was doing chemo my MO prescribed
Marinol. Dronabinol (also called THC) is a man-made form of the active natural
substance in marijuana. It is used for nausea and to increase appetite. I never
used it because as you all know, I didn’t have a problem with my appetite
(gained 40 pounds). It still sits in my refrigerator.

    Badger,
thanks for the link to the article! It makes for interesting reading.

    Jo, So glad
    to see you home!!!

    Ducky, As I’ve
said before, your family really got the good looking gene!

I’ve had things fall off of my favorites quite
    frequently lately. It’s very frustrating.

    Joan, that’s
awesome news regarding your mammo. Congratulations!!

    Linda,
thinking of you daily and praying for your peace and comfort. Hoping your procedure
went well on Friday! I’m picturing you painting at this very moment!!

    Love and hugs to all!!
