Tomboy, I had posted a petition that has been started on change.org requesting that more fundraising dollars go towards research and not just awareness. I don't think enough people are aware of this and I thought BCO was the perfect place to raise awareness. Response has been slow so I posted it multiple threads that were very active, as I think not many people are seeing it in the advocacy forum, and it is a really important cause, important to ALL of us. I feel that if more people on BCO saw it, everybody would understand how important it is and sign it.Unfortunately, the moderators say it's against the rules to do multiple posts of this type, so they deleted it. If you are interested, please private message me and I will give you the info. Hopefully the mods will not delete this post as well, before people see it.

Lucy, sorry about sitting on the loo all day. I get to have mine on March 16th.  I had one polyp at that time,, so hoping we both turn out OK!

Petition signed and I shared on FB.  All we can do is keep telling people and bumping that thread up. You are doing a great job on that, FK.

It's going to be 27 here tonight in FL and 23 tomorrow night.  I know that is nothing compared to what y'all are getting up north, but that is really cold for us.

Lucy, I hope by now your test is over and you are enjoying a nice meal.  Heres to good results.
I know about that insomnia...I think you are on NY time and I am on Aussie time.

Just checking in to say hi...I've been a no-show for awhile.  I had a 4 day week end and now back to work.

Slow, enough about the yard work..Smile.I have not seen my yard in a month from all the snow.  And it was minus 3 in my town this morning.  And Friday will be our coldest day of the year.  Everything still covered with ice and snow.

Tired an cranky here from work...can you tell?  Men are jerks?  I need to start just collecting my paycheck and stop caring what others are doing that I am not.  Soon I will have a new clean, quiet office with new furniture...have to share, but with someone who is not there much and is nice.
I am so busy getting out in the mornings that I have forgotten my meds 2 days in a row now.  No energy...

Ducky, sorry you lost your heat....Brrrrrrrrrr.

Ok, let's crank up the fire.  I'll start by throwing in the fire all the bad bad stuff that is going on in the world.  I do not feel safe, in general, any more.  Living near New York on an island where I can't get off without going over a bridge or through a tunnel or taking a ferry is not an easy thought if I decide to run away.  I can't even watch the news any more.  I just DVR all the ridiculous silly TV shows and keep my mind off the world.

    Stay warm everyone. .....  Joan

Throwing Mother Nature on the fire! She's off her meds and refuses to get back on them, so she is the reason why we are suffering with all this snow and cold in the North!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am my daughter's ride for her colonoscopy tomorrow.....I first have to take my grandson to school in this freezing cold below 0 weather in Pa.......he has asthma, and the cold and wind do a number on him, and he is just 1 block away from being alllowed n the school bus.......

Then circle back and pick up my daughter to take her to her appt. with our GI guy.........she is only 46, but has been getting them since 41.......my mother died from colon cancer so all my kids and myself go every 3 years........so glad insurance does not say no, cause they were all were younger ten 50 when they got their first one...

Oh Glennie......gentle hugs to you! I know DP didn't post on too many threads. I never posted to any of the threads she posted to, but I have kept track of her since I've been on the boards. I was diagnosed about four months after her, both with tn, and we went through chemo at the same time. I was heartbroken when she progressed a year later - so very young. She had such a wonderful sense of humor and I enjoyed reading her posts. It must be so difficult for you. We get so close to the people we interact with on a daily basis. We even get attached to people we don't really know, when we follow their lives on these threads. I've drawn strength from so many while lurking in the shadows. It was wonderful what you all did for her - I know she had to feel so loved by you all. My sincere condolences to you and everyone that loved her.

We also lost another sister this week (Raro). She was loved by so many. I pray that this is the year we can stop this madness with a cure.

Joan, I agree....this world is going crazy. I rarely watch the news - it's too depressing and makes me feel powerless. I hope you all get a break from this weather soon. An office with new furniture sounds good!! Don't let all those men get to you - those fools!! Sounds like you have GOOD reason to be cranky!! Crank away!!!

GMA, it's so good to see you posting again!! I hope you're getting stronger each day.

Lucy, we are all in your pocket today!! I'm sending good thoughts your way for good results from your colonoscopy. I know how nerve racking those tests can be. I hope you get to eat something scrumptious after your test!! Maybe something gooey and chocolatey????? My favorite is yellow cake with chocolate frosting. You know....the cake with the stick of butter??? Oh my....I'm drooling just thinking about it.

Ducky, please be safe out there tomorrow. I hope all goes well for your daughter (my adopted sister). haha I know asthma is awful for people when it's cold. I hope your GS starts feeling better soon! Whenever you talk about starting your car, I always remember last year when you forgot to turn it off!! That always makes me giggle!!

Kracker, by the time you get those boots, it will be summer! I guess you'll have to wear them with your bikini. Now that would be a picture!! I've been sharing the petition with everyone I know. I think it's more important than ever that we all ban together and get this done. We need a cure - and FAST!!

Tomboy.....thinking of you my dear friend. I'm tired of "crazy town." I think we need to go to Hawaii!!! I just need to find a full body bikini that covers all my ugly parts. Or, maybe I'll just throw caution to the wind, and let them all hang out!! I'd borrow Kracker's boots if my feet weren't so big!! Big feet, big ears....where did I get such crazy genes??? hahaha

Badger, oh my!! So many posts....you should get some kind of door prize or something. Maybe a free trip to California??? Yep...I think you deserve a prize for so many posts. I sure hope you don't stop posting. I really miss you when you're not around!!

Blondie, I think we need to get Kracker's broom and break you out of that place!! Time for a road trip!! Imagine the fun we could all have on a road trip????

Sorry I haven't been posting too much. Life can get a bit crazy at times. I do keep track of you all though. If I haven't said it lately, I'm so grateful to have you ALL and love each one of you!! Life doesn't always make too much sense, but the Bonfire girls make it all better!!! Plus, it's so much fun to burn the bad stuff. Ok, this is long enough.....GROUP HUG!!! I'm sure I'll be back to fix my typosLoopy

Throwing the idiot who advises the mayor of my city on the bonfire. There was a water main break on the outskirts of town earlier this week. They shut down the road til the repair is done. But the idiot stated in the paper that until the repair is done, to save the water system, we should not use our washers, dishwashers, etc. What are we supposed to do until its repaired, stop living at all?  Sheesh!

Hi Goddesses!  Once again it seems I have been MIA.  Life has been crazy busy both with work and fun time.  Trying to shuffle both has left me with little computer time.

Went to my eye doctor today for a 6 month follow up since I am on Tamoxifen.  Started having problems with my left eye back in late 2012.  Have had to get a new lens to correct vision.  Went from being able to see far away to now able to see close up.  In the past 6 months, vision has gotten worse and now my eye doctor is sending me to a cataract specialist for surgery.  Seems it has gotten so bad I need surgery really soon.  I am scared to death.  Don't want to lose vision in my left eye altogether.  DOES THIS SHIT WITH BC EVER END????

Next up, figuring out how I am going to pay for all this.  From what I have been able to find out on my insurance website, this surgery is NOT COVERED.  I will have the surgeon also check when I go for my consultation - don't know the date yet.

Into the fire with cataracts caused by Tami.  Into the fire with Tamoxifen.  Thank goodness I only have 11 months left.

Glennie and Slow.. So sorry to hear of the losses of your friends on this site.. It's just awful.. :-(

Thank you ladies for your good wishes for my colonoscopy.. and am so happy to report all went well, and no polyps..:-) I'm so pleased.. It's one less thing to worry about... I spent the night before trying to drink the awful preparation medication... then vomiting it back up. Yuk !!

Ducky.. Hope all goes well for your daughter with her colonoscopy as well..

Jo.. Sorry about you having to have the operation.. Seems like it is never ending for us here.. one thing after another.!!

Joan.. Yes.. I hate the news too.. My daughter has caught the train into the the city for work, ever since she left school nearly 10 years ago.. This last month she has started driving herself in.. even though it is a heavy drive , and parking in the city is expensive. She says because of what has been happening everywhere she feels too nervous and frightened to use public transport now.. and I think it's sad that she has feel that way.. Yes.. The insomnia is awful..maybe we just need to swap houses, and all our problems will be solved ?? :-)

Slow.. Ahh.. Yes.. I think your yellow cake is what we call a butter cake.. Very, very yummy !! After the colonoscopy they gave me a lovely plate of mixed sandwiches, a chocolate bar and coffee before sending me home.. Next time I will tell them I want yellow cake with chocolate icing as well..:-)

Gma.. Lovely to see you drop in again. Hope you are feeling better?

FK.. So when is our party on ?? Hope your flushes are settling down..

    Tomboy.. stay and play.!!

    Hi gmafoley,

I had good luck with the Danskin sports bra. It has a really wide band at the bottom and a cross type back so it put the pressure in my back. I got it in a two pack at Walmart for super cheap too. Hope that helps you! Best of luck.

My Nikki's test went well.......she got an A+.....I was hysterical with her after it was done....she could not pass the gas......I told her change your position.....she did...........

Well she began to pass gas, and I said "oh was that you"......and I laughed....she sounded like a machine gun.....well she started laughing cause I was, and I swear everytime she laughed she farted longer and louder......I was roaring......then the gas would come again an I could see t look on her face like she was forcing herself to pass gas...........

I said "Nik I wouldn't do that remember you could still have some of the prep solution going on in there......well no sooner out of my mouth and she said "oh my God Mom, I think I just "shit"......I said "Nik it is't shit you probably forced out water...........I was laughing so hard I was crying.......

Well when we got home it continued...........she passed gas at one point for so long, and so loud Stella (her bulldog) ran and hid under the chair............what a fun day........LOL.....if you can call getting a colonoscopy fun......well I guess it can be when you not the one getting it.......
