I think the "hair wax" (which is like hair gel on steroids) that I'm having to use right now to keep my uber short hair under control would make a nice addition. I'm sure it's flammable! LOL

Oh Sas....sending you hugs and positive vibes

Grannt, Ducky, Survivor11- thank you...yeah..the pills are unnerving indeed but I am grateful they are there to be taken..I guess I owuld not be here otherwise..just they unnever me. I was a vitamin girl before that..was no longer on the pill or anything...was occassionally on sleep meds after partner left ....it will all be ok...24 hour rule!

No...I need to throw my boss into the fire again...and I need him to stay there a long long time...he is an A**...he held a meeting to talk about what will happen in the Transition phase (ie. Sandee just quit as principal of the school effective whenever I can replace her so I am goig to replace her with a team)...and then pretty much told them all that they are inexperienced but there was to be no blame but that the students were unmovitated...no blame....and that essentially, whomever gets involved with the trainsitional phase will have a better chance at a job in January as people are only getting contrcts for the next  weeks...WTF???So at the end fo the day, I was left with 6 people (the rest had gone home) all asking me if they should look for work...hell no I said...all will be well. Just get involved and toss in your two cents so you have a voice, I said...I call my boss to tel him people are freaked out and he basically tells me they should be..that we have too many teachers and not enough teaching hours ( and whose fault is that? read..his son's)...then he sends out an email tonight, after I asked him to please say some calming words, which essentially said 'you all misunderstood my message. I think you are great"/...Dear god....IN HE GOES....why doesn't he THINK!!!I spent 45 minutes of hte 46 minute meeting staring at the clock because I was either going to cry or yell at him...think  I need to look for a new job....

Thank you everyone for your kind thought and prayers. Yup into the fire with Little Bean. At least for tonight. If it'd stay there that would be MAR-veLOus--(think Billy Crystal). What I didn't have with the BC dx was BCO. I feel blessed to be with such wonderfully carring women.

VR-----thanks for the link. will review. Moffit is high on the list right know, but insurance will have a say somehow. LET's throw in Insurance Companies.

Sandee---The word analpore works well. Mess with everyone's mind and then leave. Create all kinds of anxiety, doubt, fear, questions. What an analpore. Hope he doesn't crawl out of the fire.

I am throwing in the theif or theives who broke into our house on Friday. This kind of thing just chaps me. They took my laptop computer, a TV, a couple of watches, and DH's new work boots (still in the box). Then I am also throwing in the 1st ins.adjuster who was assigned to us. She was supposed to call DH on his cell or at home today since he was off work. Well.....I get a call while at work from the 800 number. I am with a patient and can't answer. Try to call back when I get home, and after talking to 3 other people I find out that the 1st adjuster has had us reassigned to somebody else. So.......IN THEY GO.

Beccad----------violated once is bad enough, but then a second violation by the one assigned to help, that couldn't follow directions. At least you can report this one to her supervisor. Which don't forget to do b/c she likely put a note in your file. Who knows what she may have said. Important to report her. The fire is burning bright.

Sas, I don't know what she could put in the file. I mean we never even spoke to her. We were assigned to another adjuster, for no reason that can be found by a very nice girl, who recorded our statement o'er the phone. It was kinda weird when she stated the time because she was in another time zone from us and I kept wanting to correct her. She seemed a little surprised that DH and I had put her in speaker so that we could both hear what was going on and that way I could take notes of what she was saying.

Thank you all - for everything you've written, and been so honest about feeling.  I've been lurking, to the extent that you all feel like friends, but wanted to come out and throw some stuff on the bonfire.

I think I'll be back often, but right now I need to throw in my SIDE EFFECTS!  All of them.  Lately from the Tamoxifen.  The hot flashes with nausea and tingling, the LACK of appetite, but mostly, oh dear lord, the back pain.  By the end of the day I truly am ready to chew my arm off.  (not that I have anything against my arm, it's just there).  I've been on the tamoxifen since June, and see my oncologist - who is AMAZING - the 11th.  I'm hoping he has some advice besides wait it out.......

Jo - Thank you for starting the fire, and to EVERYONE - thank you for continuing it!  What a beautiful and cleansing thing it is.

I am ready to throw in another ins. company. This time it is my health ins. co. They cannot make a decision as to whether I can get a Shingles Vaccine or not. Come on people, I have BC, and work in a hospital with every possible contagion. Wouldn't it make more sense to just let me get the DARNED shot than risk getting shingles and missing work?

Oh, the 20 something person reading from the cards in another state,(possibly another country) gave me the address to send an appeals letter, but she didn't have a name of who to send it to.

I have a love hate relationship with my health ins.Co. right now.

beccad...I SOOO want the shingles vaccine...but can't have it until I'm 60.  I am petrified of getting shingles!  My friend's friend had a heart transplant a few weeks ago and while still in the hospital, got shingles.  He wasn't in pain at first because they had him under sedation for the first few weeks.  As the pain medication wore off, the shingle pain kicked in and he was in AGONY from the shingles!  Could you believe it!   The heart transplant was less painful than the shingles! I WANT MY SHINGLES VACCINE NOW...please??

voraciousreader, That is why the Dr.s want me to get it. Between working at the hospital, & having BC they do not want me to get anything that might put me off work or delay my recon. I do not understand the 60 year old thing. Can someone please explain that one to me?

Beccad The have their head up their analpore

Jo and Granny thanks--------The tumor was dx'd the same day as BC, we/I decided after initial evaluation to do Watchful Waiting------serial MRI's Quiet and behaving until now-----until the whole story is complete--------I just consider myself back on the cancer treadmill.---------Doc visits/tests/someone offering a good enough story to let them cut into my brain. Otherwise, SNAFU. I was just ready to jump back into life--------wanted to take country line dancing lessons--------will still try to do, between frigging doc appointments.-----Fire anyone??????????

mpeaches-------come here anytime you will get support to throw into the fire what ever the need is. In your case with back pain. Did they do a pre chemo dexascan------if they didn't booboo. Not that I suggest taking any of the drugs to counter bone loss--------they are dangerous in themselves. All our life saving drugs effect us differently. PM me your list of drugs and I will Pm you back with the info, I get off my drug checker. OR you can try it yourself b/c it has 30 day free trial. Genelex, watch the how to use video-----important. OR go to Epocrates.com.  Exercise is important. But b/c of s.e. 's I couldn't exercise w/o pain med. Suggest Fentanyl low dose 25 mcg patch wear for 6-8 days versus changing every 72hrs, while help to avoid addiction.

SAS..."Watchful Waiting" is going into the fire!  It's such BS!  They make you go through all of these tests and labs and then they say, "Well, it's time to (fill in the blank)"  Why can't these tests and labs be more definitive in the FIRST PLACE, so we don't have the added anxiety of putting our lives on hold?  I am so sorry about what you've been going through.  I hope they get to the bottom of this quickly, so you can sign up for those country line dancing lessons!  You are in my thoughts and prayers.

VR_-----------Thanks, and thanks again-------The interim Pet said it had sclerosed, which means to scar , So what is happening now. The treadmill which we have all been on will take time . In the mean time, I will take the attitude ----if it isn't bothering me I won't bother it. But I have found out the surgeries available and who in the state of Fl. is qualified to do them. I will be a bug up everyones analpore, too make sure I'm not left on the corner of someones in pile that isn't being addressed. Thanks for the prayers--------I believe in prayer immensely L&H&P's sheila

     How's DH progressing????

SAS...Thank you for asking.  DH is improving.  Side effects of meds are the worst part of the recovery.  Since he's doing well, we're hopeful that he won't have to be on the meds too much longer...You know, this is how it all started.  They started giving him meds, and then he either broke through the meds or he had side effects from the meds so he couldn't take the meds.  So what do they do?  They do a six hour procedure and give him MORE meds!  With his rare metabolic muscle disorder, his body is sooo sensitive to everything he ingests, including a glass a water!  Has a stomach motility disorder because of the underlying disorder too.  Who knew the stomach was also a MUSCLE and used the same enzymes as the skeletal muscles???  Very.Complicated.  Prayers?  Have I got stories about the power of prayers!!!!  I'm a believer too!Laughing

I'm throwing in the damn greedy airlines.  My DS called today and said he is just not going to be able to come for a visit because the price of a ticket is just too much for his budget.  I miss him so much and just wanted to hug him and let him know that I will be alright.  He's been so worried about me since my DX too.  How can they justify a ticket at $1200 RT?  Just isn't right!  I hope they burn in all that expensive jet fuel!  Kitty

Sandee!  I would like to toss my boss in the fire with yours.

I finally got my semi-annual review.  My boss told me my performance has gotten much better now that I'm back from medical leave!  She was worried about my work performance the first half of the year, but is so glad I'm back on track.

SO SORRY THAT MY BREAST CANCER GOT IN THE WAY OF WORK FOR A FEW MONTHS!!

Into the fire with her, please!!

Kate...I hear you...today my boss decided it was fair to ask me to rank all of the teachers...to have them go from a casual list to full time and take some of the full time off the list..an A list and a B list..no warning of this little task of course..and he wanted me to do i within half an hour...i took my leave of him and tried to do it...and just wrote him a 3 page email trying to re-explain myself ...god...feel like ihave put people;s heads on the chopping block..same boss who had the meeting last week and scared the crap out of people..why tell them to step up over the nexteleven weeks and 'prove themselves' and then ask me who my top people are???? meanwhile, the guy i do teacher training with has been stabing me in the back for the past few months and smiling at me as a support person..interesting transition indeed.
