Put a baking sheet on the bottom oven rack and preheat to 375 degrees. Peel 4lbs of Yukon gold potatoes and cut into wedges. Toss with 1/2c olive oil, 6 chopped sage leaves, 2 springs sage, 2 tsp kosher salt & 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Spread on the hot baking sheet and roast 30 min. Stir, then add 8 smashed garlic cloves, continue roasting until golden, about 30 min. Increase the temp to 400 and cook until crisp, about 15 min more. Season with salt.

Deborye:  Thanks for the potatoe tips.  YUM.

Pretty bad when that picture makes me hungry & I vowed 2 hours ago to never eat again.  Fried lunch that I only indulge in once a year - fried shrimp, fried onion rings, coleslaw,  5 pieces of bread & butter, Pinot Grigio.  This was a "loosen the top button of your pants" lunch.

Just want you to know that we're all thinking about you while you're lying on the beach in Hawaii & sipping fruit concoctions with umbrellas & eating all that fresh fish & fruit.  Can't remember if your trip was 2 weeks or 3.  Looking forward to hearing your adventures.

I like to roast the little red potatos like that   they are so delicious.

Last night was a bowl of chicken noodle soup.  I have a cold  argh!  Must have picked up a germ at that party we went to.

Laurie  must be all husbands like the chick flicks....mine too...when picking out movies he always wants the ones about weddings or bridesmaids, yuck  I like action adventure with a little mystery thrown in.

Cant wait to hear of Debbie's travels.  She definitely wont be happy when she sees what Portland is doing.

Carrie- too funny your DH is a chick flick guy too!!  Mine loves all the Bourne movies and adventure etc but I catch him watching other things like Leap Year when he is going to bed, lol!  He would not be happy that I am telling you ladies this!

I put a corned beef  dinner in the crock pot this morning and it smells so good!  We haven't had it in so long.  DH is going to be excited.  I bought it about 4 days ago and everynight he has come home hoping it is what I made.

Laurie Its good to get a jump on St. Patty's day!!  Love corned beef, but mostly the cabbage that goes with it.  Just noticed your info...you are one year out on the 10th?  A big milestone right?

Trying to atone for my fried extravaganza yesterday so today was a one meal only day.  First course was a cup of raw cauliflower & a large cucumber.  Main dish was roasted carrots & turnips & onion quarters w/EVO, garlic & dill.  I'll wait and have dessert before bed - fresh coleslaw.  Really need to get back to exercizing.

Talked to a neighbor's DH who only watches war & violence flicks but loved ...Dragon Tatoo (the movie of course)

That is funny Carrie! My DH is a chick flick guy too. Surprise, surprise with Dance Moms and General Hospital. He had Family Man on the DVR. I swear he watched it thousands of times. Days on end, drove me crazy. I am an action adventure person too. Although I have a soft spot for movies about teachers too for some reason. And Ghost and Dirty Dancing. LOL

Minus2, I think you have atoned. Good for you!

Had pizza for lunch and DH is out of town, so had clementines and salad for dinner. DD had a Mac and cheese frozen dinner.

TGIF!! Have a great weekend everyone!

This looks good for Sunday's game.

    Ingredients
    12 skin-on chicken drumsticks
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
    2 cups apple juice
    1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
    1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
    2 teaspoons honey
    Grated zest of 1 lemon
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
    2 teaspoons sesame seeds (optional)
    1 tablespoon unsalted butter
    Directions
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Set a wire rack on a rimmed baking sheet. Put the drumsticks on the rack and season both sides generously with salt and pepper. Bake 30 minutes; flip the drumsticks and continue baking until golden and crisp, about 30 more minutes.

Meanwhile, make the sauce: Bring the apple juice, vinegar, soy sauce, honey, lemon zest, red pepper flakes and a pinch of salt to a high simmer in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook until the sauce is syrupy and coats the back of a spoon, 20 to 25 minutes. Set aside until the chicken is done.

Stir the sesame seeds into the sauce, if using, and warm over medium heat, if necessary. Transfer the chicken to a large bowl. Add the sauce and butter and toss to coat. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer the chicken to a platter and drizzle with any remaining sauce from the bowl.

ossa~No you don't see the name Chelmsford very often.  In New England there are a lot of towns named after towns in the UK.  When Chelmsford celebrated its 350th anniversary, we invited the Mayor of Chemsford, England to come to celebrate.  The whole common was packed with residents and they even had enough cake to feed everyone.  What a coincident that you live on Chelmsford Pl.

This is the lobster dinner I had at the Lobster Pot in Hamilton Bermuda.  It's not as tasty as ours but it was still good with lemon and butter.

Deb - I think I am making buffalo chicken legs for the game Sunday.  I like to do chicken legs instead of wings - way cheaper and more meat, less skin/fat.  I usually grill or broil them, brushing on a mixture of Franks's and butter  frequently during the last 20 minute or so of cooking. And I put a rub on them before I pop them in the broiler.

We went to see Warhorse tonight - very good although the battle scenes were a bit disturbing.  Then we popped in to the bar & grill next to the theater for a margarite pizza.

Michelle- Yum, on your plans and your night!

    Deb- Those look good!

I think you are inspiring me to do some sort of chicken wings, legs something for DH on Sunday....maybe invite a couple of friends over....

Laurie - we are going to a party...our kids and their friends have adopted us for football parties Laughing  They all take turns and we always get an invite.  We'll reciprocate during the summer when we can spread out!

    Good Night Ladies

    Have a good weekend!

It is so cold in here, I have the fire going and the plug in oil radiator, and the gas "heat" but it is still freezing. Time to get under the covers with the kitties. See you Monday. :)

    Good night ladies

I hope you all have a good weekend.

It is freezing in here.  I have a fire and a plug in oil radiator, and 'gas heat'  this 1780's space is not well insulated

Waiting for 4-6 inches of snow tomorrow.

Time to cuddle with the kitties, Talk to you Monday.  It will be fun to make a snowman!

I made the garlic wedge potatoes for lunch. They were delicious. My kids and I gobbled up the whole cookie sheet full, and dipped them in home made ranch dressing. It was the best potatoes we have ever had. Tonight , just grabbed pre made cobb salads for hubby and I from Safeway. They were pretty tastey.

The potatoes look like they are easy to make so I will try the recipe tonight.  I don't know whether to have Meatloaf or Crap cakes and baked beans.  If DH wants the Crap cakes, I'll save the potatoes for another time.

Deb- lol- ry bat wings on your crap cakes, might make a nice flavor?

Michelle- I love how close you are with your family, have fun tomorrow!

Carrie- Yup, one year out.  I seem to have a lot of nerves lately about cancer coming back and no one looking for it since I was DCIS.  Dumb.  It is a milestone.  I was thinking about it the other day, hard to believe when I was diagnosed my youngest was 4 months old now he is talking and 2!  Baffling.

I have had a craving for a turkey burger, I am going to try to get everyone on board to have those for dinner tonight.  If not- I'll probably roast a chicken.

For lunch we had a salad of chopped arugula, tomato, onion and cannellini beans (rinsed and drained from a can). Wholewheat bread on the side.

For dinner we went to an Asian place nearby, and I had a bok choy salad with red peppers, lime, coriander and poached chicken. So I was a good girl yesterday :)
