Dinner was leftover linguini and a salad.  It was just as good as last night!  No before dinner martini tonight because dh had a woodworkers' guild meeting at 7pm.  It was so different just to sit down and eat without our usual nighttime ritual.  I'm thinking I'll pour myself a glass of wine!

I played golf with a partner in our women's group's member-member tournament, then had lunch afterward.  A chicken fajita that was really good.  Tomorrow is the 2nd and final day of the tournament.  It was such a beautiful day today to be outside.

Tomorrow is CSA pickup.  I don't know what we're having for dinner, but I'll probably cook a veggie out of the CSA bag.

Happy birthday, Michelle.  I love Mexican food.

Laurie, you're only 36?  What a youngster you are to be so wise!

Apple, I haven't had a Reuben in ages and it's not because I don't like them.  They're one of my favorites sandwiches, but, like Muffalettas, they are so laden with salt.

Hope everyone is having a good evening.

Apple  I love ruebens also  could you share how you make them?  Just wanna be sure I'm doing it right LOL although my husband never complains.

Laurie  Because you were ER/PR positive are you on tamoxifen and been thrown head first into menopause?  Menopause can cause some cardiac changes, along with everything else!  Oh what fun to be a woman.....hope the cardioligsit can make you comfortable and not worry

I went to the plastic surgeon today and everything is healing great.  Cant get my tatoo till July as the girl only comes in twice a month and is booked up till then, oh well, no biggy.

Michelle  Happy Birthday! Thats my take on things also.....if I am having another birthday it just means I am alive!

Carrie- Glad everything is healing. I still laugh at myself with i think of tatoos, I didnt know anything about them as far as for breast cancer and it might of been this thread i cant remember sometime last year someone mentioned getting tatoos and i went on to say i had one on my hand when i was younger but had it removed, i still cringe at that and cant find it now to remove it, i wonder what people thought of me when i said that LOL!

Laurie- I hope you are doing ok today (((hugs))))

Made a broiled chili and cheese sandwich today it was so good. I used french rolls, put a little bit of  mustard on it layered with jack and cheddar cheese, chopped red onion, sliced tomatoe, whole green chilis, kept it open and broiled until it was melted and the bread was crusty then put a little vinegrette on it. It was the best sandwich ever!

Hi everyone!  My MO appointment was pretty much a non-event, as I expected it would be.  The one thing I have to see is the CA27.29 results, which I'll get on Friday.  If it comes back normal, then I won't have a PET scan until after my next appointment at the end of August.  Everyone is so friendly there, I spent a few minutes visiting my chemo nurse and the assistants.

And thanks for the birthday wishes.  I'm just so glad to be able to celebrate it this year!  And now it appears that we will do a Japanese steakhouse instead of Mexican, which is fine by me.  I actually like that a little better, and we think the kiddies will be more entertained.  We had checked with the Mexican restaurant and they don't have any special entertainment on Saturdays, so Japanese wins out.  As long as we're all together, that's what matters.

Carrie - glad you are healing well!

Debbie - your sandwich sounds like heartburn on a roll...LOL!  Are you feeling better?  Or did that sandwich take care of any congestion you might have had? Wink

Laurie - thinking of you and hoping all is well!

I need to give JoyceK a call.  Seems she might be weaning herself off the boards.

Michelle- Will be keeping you in my prayers for "Normal" tumor markers hope everything will be ok. I love Japeneese steak houses especially benny hannas we dont have one close by us but love there food and it is entertaining watching them flip those knives (scarey) but fun!  I luckily dont get heart burn if i did i would be in real trouble i love spicy foods but this really wasnt spicy the ortega chilis i use are mild ones, they come whole in a can.

Please tell Joyce hi for me and let her know she is missed i hope she is feeling ok! Sending ((((hugs)))) to you Joyce!Laughing

Laurie:  Let us know how you're doing and if you were able to get an appointment.

Hi ladies, I try to not post until I can quietly read the previous posts and respond to everyone.  But I am going to wing it a bit.

Michelle- Yay for your appointment going well!  Let Joyce know we miss her.

Carol- Embarassed I have been called a lot of things, but wise is a huge compliment, thank you.

So the "heart drama".  The cardiologist office called first thing this morning and said they spoke to my primary and the primary wants me to be seen asap.  They have a specialist from Dartmouth helping out at the local hospital and she was going to try to get me in with him.  Said she would call me back, I never heard from her again today.  But she made me feel optimistic.  I told her about the dental infection and how this coincided etc.  So we will see what happens.  It has not been as intense.  I skip a few minutes without having the pvc's, they come back and go.  But better than every minute.  I;ll take what I can get.

So super busy day.  I took the boys with me to work this morning and bribed them with friendly's if they behaved, they did so we went. OMG.  I will never do that again.  They have a special on Wednesdays, kids eat for 1.99 and it was school vacation week.  oops.  But the three of us ate for 13 dollars, pretty cheap and they were thrilled.  Played outside all afternoon and now DH is home and taking the brunt of the insanity.

Dinner is home made chicken tenders, baked potatoes and corn on the cob.  I am hoping for a peaceful dinner followed by on time bed times.  Bruins are on tonight game 7!!  I am going to have to record American Idol, lol!!!

Hope you are all doing well, and thank you so much for thinking of me.

Laurie:  Glad you are getting for a doctor visit.  Those PVC's are pesky things...by the time you go they will probably have gone away...not a bad thing...but still, hard to diagnose.  Glad you're feeling a little better.

Dinner tonight was seared catfish fillets heavily seasoned with Paul Prudhomme's saltfree Magic.  Butter and olive oil heated in the skillet.  The fish turns out kind of blackened.  DH made his tartar sauce:  mayo, horseradish and dill relish.  Our side dish was young zucchini, two varieties.  One with stripes and one round and fat.  Both from the CSA veggies.  Heated some chopped garlic in EVOO in a skillet.  Added the zukes chopped in big pieces.  Added a can of diced tomatoes, low salt.  Added fresh thyme and fresh basil, also some black pepper and pepper flakes, a little salt.  Cooked the zucchini until it was fork tender.  Threw another handful of basil on top and grated some Asiago.  Very good.  You could taste the fresh herbs.  Asiago cheese will make anything good!

At Thanksgiving last year we went to one of the Japanese restaurants with DH's sister and her dh and the sister's daughter's family, which included 4 kids.  The reason for choosing the restaurant was entertainment for the kids.  The food was just so-so.  But the kids were entertained!

Tomorrow night I won't be cooking.  We're going to a party for the volunteers who worked in the Wooden Boat Festival last Oct.  The main dish is supposed to be barbecue.  And I believe there will be music.

Dinner out tonight at CPK with BF's son.  He's a great kid and it's always fun to be in his company.  I tried a new dish on their menu...chili relleno stuffed with veggies and southwest seasoning and baked.  It was very good, and gluten free, as are many of their menu items.

    Happy birthday Michelle!

Laurie I hope your heart calms down.

I am still tired at work and get home late so it's hard to keep up

Debbie, I made your mushroom sauce for pasta tonight, but too tired to make the pasta.

I am the worst "cook" here.  I had 1/2 of a tuna sandwhich today, a banana, coffee, and Iced Tea. Not really exciting.  DD dropped off her dog today to watch while she goes to India.  Thank God she's with a girl who is responsible and is part of a tour.  Sorry if any misspellings. Just put drops in my eys, for moisture.  Darn Aminidex.

Going to cuddle under the covers with the little poodle and the cats will most likelly stomp around all night bieiing mad  Night.

Laurie- Hope you get in right away to the specialist so it can put you at ease with what or what it isnt. Hmm maybe it is because of the dental infections. I sure hope you get some answers soon.

Deb- Funny picture i stole it from you on FB.

    Carol- Hows your Bp today?

Bedo- I dont think you are a bad cook you have come up with some pretty good sounding stuff! Hope you end up likeing the saute mushrooms, one thing i forgot to mention was that when you are sauteing mushrooms, never salt them until after they are soft and almost done it speeds up the process of cooking them and browns better if you do it that way, but will still be fine if you did add salt in the begining, just a tip i thought id throw in there.

DH is golfing, well probably drinking by now. but i always make things i like when he is not home for dinner, things he dosnt care for. He dosnt like corn, avacodos, tomatoes or squash or yams or fish. (weird) So i made cod, yams, corn on the cob that i microwaved and then cut off the cob. (so good) had leftover broccoli and mushrooms. It was pretty darn good too but I am so full. then i had popcorn for dessert and made some hot fudge and poured it over the popcorn, im ready to pop my self! LOL!

Kaara- I hope your eyes are better today

debbie:  popcorn with fudge sauce..hummmm...sounds like something I might have eaten when I was pregnant...lol!  Technically they are both healthy, so combined, they must be even better..right?

OMG, Debbie...hot fudge over popcorn???  Well, I do think I've seen chocolate popcorn balls, so why not!  You know, if you put some cayenne in that hot fudge, then drizzled it over the popcorn, you could have the best of both worlds!!!  Personally I am mostly a purist - salt and real butter on my popcorn unless...it's caramel and nuts!  Oh yes, Orville Redenbacher used to have microwave caramel popcorn.  That stuff was dangerous!!!

Carole - have fun at your party tonight!

Laurie - hope you have a PVC-free day!

everyone loved the reubens except for me.. bummer.  last nite, my son #2, who loves to help me cook, marinated pork loin, and grilled them with peppers, zuccini and onions.   i made an excellent salad of tofu, grated carrots, cilantro, soy sauce and sesame oil.. ( i really do eat healthily in spite of the meat heavy dishes i make for the 200 pound men), curried lentils and rice.

i don't have to cook tonite.. mr. apple will be presented with some sort of national first place NARI award.. a remodeling thing, so i am attending the dinner.  i find those events quite boring but am obligated to go.. the dinner will be good tho and mr. apple will finally get to introduce me to some of his 'colleagues' in my wig and makeup.

apple sauce and plain yogurt for breakfast.. yum

*recipe" 3 grated carrots, a cup or more of chopped cilantro, a package of diced firm tofu and sesame oil and soy sauce. it's a great, filling summer salad.

Debbie, what a menu!  And chocolate syrup on popcorn???  I love popcorn and buy Orville R's SmartPop, which is recommended by WW and very good.  I spray butter spray on it liberally.

Thanks for asking about my bp.  The cycle continues.  High in the morning and gradually lowers during the day.  It was 151/98 yesterday morning and by bedtime 119/71.  I'm keeping a chart and will take it when I go next Thurs. for my dr. apptment.

    Happy Thursday!

Apple:  The salad sounds delicious and healthy!  Hopefully you were able to enjoy it.

Carole:  Good idea to chart the bp..puts you ahead of the game as that is probably what they would want you to do.

Michelle- I like caynenne pepper so will have to try that next time maybe with a little cinammon too. Hmmm now you got me thingking! Oh the possibilities LOL!

Carol- Somthing I heard a long time ago was that people with fish tanks or aquariums  had a lower BP somthing about the calming and relaxing effect it has. Quite a difference in your BP from morning til night!

Apple- I will copy/paste that recipe for when my dad comes to visit i know he will love that. Me too!

Happy birthday, Ducky!  Isn't it nice that we often get 2 meals for the price of one?  Makes it seem less expensive to eat out.

My birthday is tomorrow and we are eating out tonight, tomorrow and Saturday...LOL!  Tonight we are going to Not Your Average Joe's - I have a coupon for a free entree and dessert.  DH is planning tomorrow night's birthday dinner.  And Saturday is the family dinner at the Japanese steakhouse.  Debbie - I'm with you on this one.  DH wouldn't dream of not taking me out on my birthday.

Apple - oh, those corporate dinners... hoping it's not rubber chicken!  Enjoy getting gussied up and going out!
