Deb - I found you but it was in a very roundabout way...a Facebook page for a hospital.  I also found your name on Classmates.com...but when I copied and pasted your name (as you wrote it above) into the Facebook search box, it didn't find you...LOL!   Anyways, I sent you a Friend request.

LOL Joyce, you are so right!  We will definitely need to meet for dinner.  We (note the word "we") did make chicken carciofi tonight.  He did whatever I told him to do...hmmm...I might need a few more favors before the night is over.  After all, they were gone for 10 hours!!!  Right now he wants to change the tv channel so bad he can hardly stand it.  But I am watching the Sox game and he can't control the remote until this game is finished.  Hehehe...such power I have tonight!

Michelle and Joyce your husbands crack me up!  Mine is soooo similar it's eerie.  My husband is "working" at the Highland Games in Lincoln for the weekend.  He works for a Busweiser distributor, so beer is his job.  He and a bunch of buddies from work get put up in an awesome condo and basically make sure that the beer never stops flowing. It's half work and half party time for them.  He just called to check in on me to see if the boys were asleep ok and it sounded like a frat house in the back ground.   Although he claims he stayed up too late last night and is going to head to bed early tonight, yha right!

I'm going to see if I can find a good movie to watch and if not I know my book is good.  I haven't had dinner as of yet and am thinking it is going to be a sandwich.  I am actually craving the baloney I bought the other day.  Not the dinner of champions but ohwell, it is almost 9, it's at least something.

Even though I'm from Mass., I'll be joining you NH ladies for lunch on the 2nd. Thanks Joyce for the invite. Tonight was my night for dinner with Dad (92 years old). Instead of going out to eat, I've been bringing food in. Although, I can cook, I typically don't. I usually pick up some italian prepared food. Spinelli's a local bakery and function hall has great stuff. Tonight I picked up a container of their sausage cacciatore. I cooked up some penne pasta and added a little extra homemade sauce (made by another local bakery) and Dad loved it. He doesn't eat much, but he said it was good. Then served him a cannolli and a cup of coffee in his easy chair (just like my mom used to) and he was a happy man.

Welcome, Hauntie!  I look forward to meeting you in October!

My DH holds on to the "main" remote even when he's snoring!  But we have the Comcast one, too.  And if push comes to shove, I can reprogram the DVR from my laptop.  I really do have superpowers Cool

That is why i watch tv in the bedroom, the shows he watches drives me nuts, like judge judy, its worse than finger nails on a black board for me, reruns of gilligans island, (gag) lavorne and shirley (really?)  i like the girly, glirl shows ones that make you cry, LOL!

Im on Facebook too,, michelle and kay are on mine, any one else can also find me at Debbie louise mcpherson-  Had to put in my middle name because there are tons of debbie mcphersons. All kinds of activites were suppose to be going on here in town but it pretty much got rained out except the "Surf city car show" at the casino, walked around that for awhile and decided, what the heck, i will go inside and play 40. in the slots, was there for about 7 hours playing the penny machines, since DH was working there until midnight tonight, ended up walking out with about 370,oo (Woo-hoo)  It sure is tiring to have fun! I have to say my DH is the same with the remote too.  Will fall asleep with it in his hands too.  And the channel surfing just drives me nuts.  As soon as I'm actually interested in something, click.... and something else is on.  I used to hide the remote.  Now I just don't watch tv much any more.  My DH's new vice.......Dance Moms.   It's a reality show on lifetime about a dance competition team in Pittsburgh.  My DD is on a dance competition team, so that is why the interest.  DD loves the show too.  Thank goodness her studio and team are nothing like the one on the show though.  We have been at a couple of the same competions though and have seen some of the teams or people from her studio in the clips.  I think that is part of what makes it interesting as well.

Pickety Place sounds so nice.  Wish I were closer to make it there.  Have a great time.  Hauntie, so lucky you are making another get together.  And this time, you won't have to rent a hotel room.  Good for you!

Hi Joy - looking forward to meeting you and the others at Pickety Place. I'm not the only one taking care of Dad. I have 4 brothers and we all take turns making sure he gets taken care of. My mother passed away from Alzheimers 3 years ago.  My second oldest brother lives with him, so he does the brunt of the care taking and MD appointments. I only live 3 miles away, so I'm number 2 care taker. We all take turns on Saturdays and I typically do dinner with him at least one night during the week. We also have a housekeeper, who comes for a couple of hours a day.  She's a saint. If not for her my Dad would not be able to live at home. He's in good shape physically, but his memory is totally shot. Very different from my mother's Alzeimer's, thank God; but it's still requires a lot of patience, repeating things, writing notes, etc.

If you gals ever get a group together for a trip to Foxwoods or Mohegan - count me in. i've been there a few times. I've never had any luck, but it's fun anyway. Poker tournaments there seem to be recently retired  Brother *2's new career. He's had much more luck than I have. He's such a frequent visitor he gets all kinds of "free" stuff. His girl friend usually accompanies him, so she gets her own "free stuff". So, DB gave me the Pandora bracelet he got a couple of weeks ago.

I ended up having a crazy afternoon/evening!  My DS called around noon and invited us over for an impromptu  football watching party.  DH was golfing so I decided to go.  He lives about 40 minutes from us (in Merrimack).  I made a couple of stops along the way, which just added to my day.  My first stop was WalMart to pick up a few things to make shrimp dip and I needed some Patriots attire.  While I am in the store, this little girl - maybe 4 or so - is screaming hysterically, "Daddy, I want it all!  Daddy, I want it all!"  Over and over and over again!  It was such a comical scene and the parents were at their wits end trying to calm her down.  But I thought it interesting that even at the age of four, she KNEW she wanted it ALL!!!  So then, on to Marshall's - not for anything special, just one I don't get to very often.  I'm walking around with my cart, when I hear this girl - probably 9 or 10 - say with her loudest "stage" voice, "Mommy, I know why that lady is wearing a hat.  She's BALD!!!"   Well, I just about died laughing!  I knew she was talking about me and all I could think was that her poor mother was probably mortified.

My son made chili and left out all the hot stuff so I could enjoy it. And I made shrimp cocktail dip (shrimp, cocktail sauce and cream cheese) to eat with ruffled chips. We left after the Patriots game (DH came after golf) and there was still lots of loud happy partying going on!   I had to choose...alcohol or Tylenol. Went with the Tylenol so I'm feeling a bit less bone pain this evening. I guess the worst of chemo #7 has passed, other than the fatigue.

Hauntie - yes, casino excursion!  When we lived in Missouri, I was a far too frequent visitor to Ameristar and they were so nice to me...gave me all kinds of goodies...that I could have bought myself with all the money I dumped into the slot machines!  But I always had a good time.  Maybe we can pull this off before winter sets in and the two hour drive becomes a bad idea!

Hope everyone is having a nice evening!

    Michelle
