Leah, how fantastic that your kids did all the cooking for your holiday!  Hope things are still going well as you recover from your surgery.

I didn't know either that hearing loss could result from a fall, or from a general anesthetic.  Chrissy, is it tinnitus that causes a constant "ringing" in the ear?  Imagine that's a hard thing to deal with.

Good to see you Isabella!  I so admire you for doing all the sewing, and this comes from one who feels fortunate when she successfully threads a needle!  For some reason I've pictured you as tall so it's a surprise to learn you're short like me.  My pants always need chopping off and if I had any sense I'd always buy pants at Belk's where they have free alterations.  I may venture into Belk's tomorrow as I'm in dire need of a pair of black dress pants, but only if the store's not already decorated for Pinktober!

Seems like all my life I've been teased because I can't thread a needle---but I can do something I've never seen anyone else do! I needle my thread!

My morning has been crazy first received an email that shouldn't have come to me. It was from a publisher I had done some work for but got a little annoyed when I told him I wasn't doing any more as he paid peanuts. The editor was asking if I might be interested in revising a book I did but oh boy I won't do so now. Was mad for a while but then thought it was funny because he hasn't realised it came to me as well.

Then the mail arrived with an appointment for an ultrasound of my left breast??? I have a 'something' on my collar bone and onc wants to see what it is so ordered an ultrasound of left chest area. Luckily by that time I was in a good mood so the appointments lady and I had a laugh when I said they could have problems doing an ultrasound on my left breast cause I wasn't sure where extactly it was now!!!! She was lovely and so please I wasn't upset.

Having looked at a wedding venue with DS and his financee I had now better get something done around here.

Have a great day, well for most of you its nearly over I suppose.

    Hello all,

I am back from trip to city to see doc and get scan. Back to my own comfy bed. No new answers. This doc is willing to commit to finding a solution, tho. We are just treating the symptoms so I will not get "better" until we find out the problem. Everyone agrees my lungs sound so much better when I am on the higher dose of prednisone. But that presents it's own problems. My BP is still high so they doubled my dose of that med. My hands shake so I can barely thread a needle much less work on someone else's stuff. And I have such a ringing in my ears that I use close captioning on the tv to make sure I can understand. So the doc referred me to an ENT, did more blood work, and wants me to do a cardio-pulmonary exercise test. So just more waiting.

Anyway, hope everyone has a great end of the week day and into the weekend. we are changing from summer to fall here in the northeast USA. Cooler evenings and mornings and warm afternoons. very beautiful.

Isabella, The best use of pink is getting pink duct tape and putting it on all the handles of your tools. Makes them easier to spot from a distance, too.

Wow, so much has happened while I have been away for a few days.  Gald everyone is recovering or has a dr. that is committed to finding the root problem so it can be treated instead of treating the symptoms forever.

DH took me to the beach for a few days and we had a wonderful time. The day after we got back I had the bone scan then the dermatologist office called and said the dr. wanted me to have a follow-up visit to discuss the results of the biopsy they did on 9/4 because she wanted to discuss the results and any treatment option she may have???? WTH  I had asked her when she wanted to see me again and she said I could take out the stitch myself and that I did not need to come back because the results would be sent to the onco that referred me and he would discuss the results with me.  Oh well, I made an appointment for 10/1.  Then the radiology office call and said when did I want my appointment for the MRI that the onco had ordered.  I did not know he had ordered it but we made an appointment for next Friday.  then the onco office called and said I needed to come back in for additional lab work because my calcium level was very low and that I needed to take 8 chewable Tums that day and 8 more the next day and then come in that day for the additional lab work because they were going to run a different calcium test.  So I am wondering what in the world is going on!!!!  Guess I will get all the answers for all of this on Wed. when I go in for my next exam and treatment.  Did I mention I am a nervous wreck this weekSurprised

Hope everyone has a restful calm weekend.  HUGS

Nancy glad you are home and safe. Now you can relax a little. I'm glad to hear that this new doc is going to follow the symptoms to get to the route problem. Hang in there it sound like you have found a winner.

Leah how are you feeling? Do hope you are recovering well. Yay for your kids stepping up with all the cooking.........it sounds like it was delicious!

Lisa have you gone through your pics of your trip yet? Have you found a few to share yet?..........do you get the idea I want to see some........lol

Lovely.  The train pictures on the winding mountain rails reminded me of trips through the Rocky Mountains when I was a kid.   I loved the switchbacks where you could see the end of the train going the other way below you on the mountain.

The steam engine reminded me of the time when I was a kid and we went on an old steam engine freight train with just a couple of passenger cars.  It was such a hot day we kept the windows open which made it very smokey and dusty.  It stopped at every tiny town along the was, some of them even smaller than the one we were headed for which had a population of about 70.  When we made the same trip a year later the train had been replaced by a more modern one.

chabba, I even got a cinder in my eye from the old engine

Oh Lisa those pics remind me of the time I spent in CO last year. They are just beautiful.

AJ, wow a lot going for you. Glad you got to the beach for some relaxation before the onslot of appts and tests!

Chrissy, hope you are well. Some talking going on yet? I don't get too much rest. Have  appt with ENT doc on Wed. in city.  But I am glad it is moving forward.

Isabella, my dad was very annoyed when anyone went off with his tools. He had a sign up sheet for if anyone borrowed a tool. It is still up in his basement and almost every name has a check out date and no return. LOL But I know what you mean, I was outside last week and found one of my channel lock pliers laying in the grass starting to rust from the last time my DS had used it. It is very frustrating.

chabba, in our area there is an old steam engine train, that runs for the different seasons. They have an especially nice display at Christmas time. One year a friend and I took our kids for the ride. It was a beautiful day and we were having a great time, until "Santa" came into our car. My daughter took one look at him and started to cry. She screamed the whole rest of the ride. LOL The rest of the kids were mad at her for upsetting "Santa". Oh those lovely memories.

    hugs to all ((((((((Smile))))))))))

    Breathe!

I dont blame you at all for being a nervous wreck....more than likely it is just a glitch in the labwork by the sounds of it.  Darn Drs worry ppl SO much.

    Best of luck.

    Take Care~

My goodness, AJ, what a load you have right now.  Hopefully it's all a matter of miscommunication that can be solved with your onco visit on the 1st, even more hopeful it can be resolved sooner than that.  Keep us posted on how you are.

Gorgeous pictures as always, Lisa.  Love the one of the eclipse!

Lazy Saturday around here.  I could get a lot done if I chose to, but I'm choosing to read a good book instead!

i've been a wreck, first about you know what; then, we got a letter to tell us our lease will not be renewed, and they're selling our villa.good luck!it was empty for 2 years, before we rented.. we've been here 5 yrs, im gonna miss it. now, we've got to search for somewhere , again.. have till jan, but PIA major!!

the landlord offerred to give us a mtg a year or so, ago, but we can't come up with a big enough downpayment.. so, he's tired of paying for all the work they did, with the painting, and tenting.. so out we go..

1st time EVER i've rented.. it has me pretty fluttered, for sure...

anyway, im hoping i'll get back in the mode of coming here again, regularly. i've been thinking of you all...3jays

Big hugs 3Jays, at least you have some time to get sorted.

I am so tired toninght. Last night looked after both grandchildren for the first time. We have DGD often but haven't had DGS before. At one point it was DH and I in the bed plus two littlies and two cats!!!! DGS was put back to bed then DH departed as DGD does tend to kick. Think I got about 3hours in the end. Eyes are shutting now but know I will wake at 2am and not get back to sleep, oh well such is life.

DGD would not let me help her dress this morning so we have this symphony of florals.

    Lisa just love the pictures.

Hope every one is having a good weeked.

    Big hugs.

I have the honor of giving her her first dress that wasn't pink, and having her wear it.. im gonna see if i can find the pic later. i showed her Cinderellas dress (thanks, photobucket) was blue.. and gave her the cinderella dress. she loves it!!!

they're my joy, but haven't seen much of them.. they're always so busy doing this party, that doing these days, and Nana you're too slow as my GS says..oh well.. will hope to see them next week.

thanks for reminding me i have time to get it sorted out, i went over with that news.. night, sleepyhead. hope you DO find some sleep.........3jays
