Isabella, is there anyway that you can get them to send it so that you have to sign as proof of delivery? That way you know they are sending and they know you are receiving. There is certainly a break down in the communication line. Hoping you get it sorted soon.

I saw this guy on my walk this morning..what do you think he is up to??
0 -
Lisa - maybe take flight or just pulling up one leg to let it rest.
Isabella - hope you can get the letter situation straightened out soon.

Lol Lisa, he looks like he's on his morning walk too.

Lisa, he looks to me like he is toweling off from his morning dip with his wing. He also looks a little annoyed with the woman with the camera.
I am finally off all the steroids. I am having an adjustment period. Very tired, but can't sleep. I am trying to cut out the sleep aid too. All my joints ache. Hopefully it will all pass. I am off to see my MO tomorrow in the city. While I am there I am going to visit a friend that just had a knee replacement.
Chrissy, how is your knee doing?
Isabella, that is so horrible that you have had to wait so long. And the 8 minutes an appt is crazy.
I know for my mail if someone puts the wrong town in the address (I live on a town line) it sits down at the post office in general delivery and no one lets me know that it is there.
We have been having little snow storms every few days. Just a few inches at a time. It makes every thing sparkly and bright but doesn't require shoveling, I can just sweep it off the front steps. My kind of winter.
Hope we all can get a good night's sleep.

Hi ya Nancy! My knee is doing very well as far as healing is concerned and am working on some more strength by doing hydro therapy. It's taken a while but bit by bit it seems to be returning to what the docs say is a normal knee.....lol......I'm loving it! Hope your friend does just as well........wish her well from me and tell her the first few weeks are definitely the hardest but it does get better.
Good to hear that you are off all the steroids.......they sure are harsh things. Hoping you get your sleep patterns going once again so you can feel normal.
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
Sleep. I HAVE to read every night before I can sleep. Sometimes it backfires and if it`s a good book I might read until the wee hours. No harm, no foul. I`ll just have a nap that afternoon. If you go to bed too early, you will just lie there. You have to be tired. If I don`t fall asleep, I figure I`m not tired enough, so I just keep reading. My DH uses an eye mask so I can keep the light on to read. Sometimes I`ll fall asleep with the light on and the book on my chest. That`s okay, too!
Issabella, I know how you feel about being dressed down by your doctor. Last time at my doc he made some snap remark about having to get me off the narcotics! Um, yep, as soon as you get me pain free!!!! I`m seeing him again this morning, so it`ll be interesting to see what he has to say. I don`t get high or anything, I even wonder what people see in the morphine! All it does besides make the pain tolerable, is constipate me!!! I have Narcotic Gut; my bowels are paralyzed.
Chrissy, it`s been fun reading your `predictive text`posts from a couple of pages ago, but I figured it out! hehehehehehehe

Hi all
Doing a wee dance inside - got the all clear from the doc yesterday. Six years since Mx. The BS has some theories about why I and a couple of other women have managed to be so good but as she says she is collecting evidence and has no proof as yet.
Barbe my doc growled when I said that I had tried cold turkey with my drugs - several 'friends' had commented on what I take and there had been a scare here about drugs making us ill - so I cut out the painkillers and ended up in a bad way. My doc happily upped the drugs the other day so I can continue the regime that the RA doc sorted out, it seems to be helping but I am walking with a stick which I didn't tell the doc.
I sit and do sudukos before I sleep - have many half finished ones.
Must go as DD and I are off to get DGD her things for ballet which she starts on Saturday.
Big hugs to all.

Hooray for great news Alyson!

If you want a book that will put you to sleep, get Ambasador's Journal by John Kenneth Gailbraith. He has the most soporific writing style. I don't know how students ever stayed awake in his classes. It's an old book, probably can get it from the library.

Happy Dance for Alyson!
Isabella I sure hope you get some relief from your pain, and that the docs get their act together.

Alyson, that is just wonderful news!! It makes all of us so happy for you!
Isabella, your treatment by these "institutions" is an absolute crock! I wouldn't be surprised if somebody else dropped the ball here and you're the scapegoat for their error. Please drive them absolutely insane with your phone calls. Call daily or even twice a day, and see if they can contact you by email when a letter is sent. Something is obviously happening to your mail, or more likely the letters aren't being sent as they say they are. Surely they have your correct address, but I'd check that also.
Nancy, I'm glad you're off the steroids and hope your body will adjust soon. Maybe your MO will have some insight tomorrow when you see him.
Barbe, I also have to read before I sleep and I always have a book going. My tastes run to mysteries and yes, murder mysteries (!) so they may not be helpful for sleeping, but no problems related to them so far. Every month or so I have a nearly sleepless night and do pay for it the next day, but fortunately it's not all that frequent.
We've finally been given permission to share the news about DD's pregnancy (of course, I'd already shared it with you all!) but now we can tell our friends, etc. I enjoyed sharing the news last night at a Super Bowl party we went to.

Anyone any knowledge of cervical polyps ??
DD called me in floods of tears this am., having just been for her routine smear test. She had been told it was a 'decent sized' one, and seemed bothered she'd not noticed any bleeding from it. As soon as they can get her in she'll be having colposcopy. She is 44.
As they asked about other family members health problems, and seemed to 'dwell on my bc' she is convincing herself she only has hours to live!! ( how well I remember these feelings) Am hoping to drive across to see her this evening. I know she will probably have surrounded herself with her many friends, as she does in a crisis.....as opposed to me who will hide away from anyone if I'm upset....but need to be with her.
Always something.....
Isabella.

I am sorry to hear this Isabella. Does she have a cervical tumor? My understanding is that treatments are better than what I had as a young woman. I know you want to be there with her today. I think one always wants their mother, even if they don't want to show it.
Hugs Ginger

Isabella, the person who scared your DD so should have known better. Cervical polyps are 99% benign and usual have no symptoms only being found in such examinations. Even though you are probably over at her place now do tell her that it is rare for them to be cancerous.
It is a beautiful day here and so will go for a walk shortly then try to get5 some things done around the house as I have a friend stayingt this weekend.
Big hugs to all.

Isabella, which test are you talking about ??

Lisa , my DD went for a pap test, and is now awaiting a colposcopy (??sp) test.

wishing her the best Isabella

Isabella, my only experience with cervical polyps was that my mother had them when I was a teenager and had her cervix removed, or that was my impression. They were benign. I hope you've been able to see DD today and that she's calmed down a bit, and I especially hope all her worry is for nothing.

Hello all, I have gotten my house back to myself. I had some windows replaced and of course there was some rotten areas, so the carpenters were here a week. Just got my office all back together.
Alyson, yay for the great news!
Isabella, I hope your DD has more info about her health issues by now. Glad you can be there for her.
Chrissy, thanks for the update about your knee. I did stop and see my friend, she is just 6 days out. She has been moved to rehab now and the work begins. I am so happy that your knee is getting stronger.
I also saw my MO. She thinks the predisone was masking the joint pain from the AI. So I am stocking up on Aleve and sitting with my heating pad. I got the all clear for another six months. But I have to get a DEXA scan next week. She wants me to come back to the city. I have to say the trip was a confidence builder for me. My mind is so much clearer and I wasn't worn out from just walking into the office. My blood pressure was high, but it must be a reaction to the place b/c it is good when I go to the dr here at home.
we are preparing for a big winter storm that will hit this weekend. Gotta get out tomorrow to get some groceries and more batteries. LOL
((((hugs for everyone))))

It's great that you're doing so much better, mac. Maybe the effects of those steroids are finally wearing off! I also had pain when I started on arimidex but it seems to be better now, just can't walk as long as I'd like too without becoming stiff. I was worried about my dexa scan last month but there'd been no change, so I was told to continue the calcium and vitamin D as I'm doing. Hope it's the same with you!
Those of you in the path of this blizzard like Mac, please be very careful! This looks really bad.Kathy

I'll keep ya'll posted on the storm. We are suppose to have hurricane strength winds and lots of snow. I am all battened down and snug in my house.

We have had snow flurries all day, tonight it seems to be setting in for a big one. Roll on summer.
I seem to have aquired another dog, as if I don't have enough! DH came down yesterday with a little brown mongrel he had picked up 'shivering on the roadside' about 10 miles from here. WHY he didn't just take it home I don't know.
Lovely little dog, small Jack Russell type, about 2 or 3. Well looked after, shiney coat, castrated, not particularly hungry, comes when called, not the least bit dirty in the house. He seems to have pushed his way to the front of my pack, and has been stretched out infront of the fire all day. Now I have to start and ring round, don't really know where to start, as I usually get dogs dumped by their owners, but this little man came in with DH. I haven't felt like sitting @ pc all day today, but must start tomorrow, as there probably will be a family wondering where on earth their dog has got to in this bad weather. Either that, or I've just aquired another pooch.
Isabella.

So lovely to read of snow flurries while I sit here in an Australian summer. I understand your eagerness for Summer, I am looking forward to the colder weather.
I hope you find the owner of your little house guest.
Lovely photo Chrissy!

Hi ya Ariom! I took that a few years ago in North Queensland at a place called Ross n Locke and it is the Mulgrave River near Gordonvale. It is such a lovely place to picnic and swim although the water is icy cold.......lol
Oh my Gosh girls! You sure are getting some snow storms over there! I've been checking your weather out on the net and some of this snow banks are huge! Hoping you are all staying warm and dry.
Packing my bags today as I'm heading out to Kangaroo Island tomorrow morning......early! I have a five hour drive to get to the ferry, and hour on the ferry and then another forty five minutes drive before I get to my sisters house. It's a loooong trip but oh so worth it when I get there. I haven't been for a couple of years so I'm really looking forward to it and the multitude of photographs I will get to take. I'll have fun editing them on the new laptop as well and yes, I will be able to share a few.......lol. I haven't been able to post pics for ages as the old computer just refused to stay o n long enough for me to do that.......yahoo for new technology!........don't you just love it
Don't worry if I don't get on the boards much next wet as I know I'm going to be oh so busy chatting with my sis and there really only so many hours I a day........lol.
Have a good week all!
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -
