Hi Flannel, glad you checked this thread! Lots of really nice ladies here. I was lucky to meet Chrissy when she visited San Diego on her round the world trip!

Did I tell you all that today is my 35th wedding anniversary? We went out to dinner yesterday with DD DSIL and DGD. We had a lovely dinner and enjoyed one another company.

My DH has a ring for me that won't come from the jeweler until wednesday. I thought he had it with us at dinner and I kept waiting for him to give it to me, by the end of the meal I was thinking,"What does he have it in, the dessert?" and then, "Oh no, he has put it in may coffee and it will be all stricky." He finally told me he didnt have it in hand. Ohc, ohc, ohc, all that ring anxiety for naught. You know my jewelry was stolen, all my special memories jewelry, my diamond wedding ring amongst it. This was back in 2007 not from the more recent theivery. So getting this ring will be special. I look forward to it but am a little nervous for it, I am not sure my hands can support such a look after all these years. eeek,

    Love and hugs Ginger

Welcome, Flannelette!  Glad to have you.

Happy birthday, Gardengumby!  Hope it's a good one.

How exciting to get a ring, Ginger, even if your ring anxiety was a bit early.  I'm absolutely sure your hand can support it, too!  Just wait and see.

I think of Isabella often, and wonder what's going on, trying to be optimistic. On FB she posts as Isabella York, but she said York isn't her real surname. I know I'm going to ask my DD to let everyone here know if I'm ever unable to post for an extended time.

DGS#1 has been talking about having a "sleepover" at our house so we're trying it Wednesday night.  We normally keep him on Tues and Thurs, so it should work for us.  We've had a few tries at this before when he was younger and they haven't been good.  He can't go to sleep, or wakes up in the wee hours, but we have hopes for this one.  It's his request, so we'll see how it goes.

End of Monday hugs for all.

    Kathy

Hi Flanel and Garden, welcome to the thread. It's lovely to see you here. Pull up a chair, grab a cuppa and sit awhile with us.y

Happy Anniversay Ginger! Ooo your ring sounds lovely and I'll bet you are just so excited about receiving it and so you should be. Don't worry if you fingers will support it, just wear it with love and to the devil with what others think.

Losing all your precious things due to robbery is absolutely heartbreaking (been there) so anything that comes later is doubley precious. Enjoy your day!

Lisa your flowers are always beautiful! You just have the knack of capturing the essence of the subject. Keep them coming as I love to see them as I'm sure are the others.

Oh Aly, that is just too funny! A rat for your birthday!........lol.......well I guess to a cat a big, fat, juicy rat would be a wonderful present!.......it's just a shame that they left you with the mess to clean up. I'm glad you had a fabulous day.

Still on the search for a pattern for that crochet for the wedding dress.......does anyone know any sites on the web that has free download patterns for crochet? If you do could you post the addresses or names so I can check them out. Thanks.

This wedding stuff is at the moment all consuming........not just to me but to DD as well. Aly I know you DSs wedding is getting closer now and hopefully all things are in place for the big day.

Well my house is telling me it needs a clean so I'd best go do it.

    Have a good day all.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Wow miss a few days and have pages and pages to read to catch up!

kathindc - my DD#1 and her DH are at Camp Zama which is about 45 minutes south of Tokyo.

Chrissy - I will start looking though all my crochet books to see if there is a pattern that would work for you. I may just send you the book as I do not crochet anymore.  My hands just don't work that way anymore.  That is why I make quilts now.  So glad you are my friend, you truly are a very special lady and so kind and considerate of everyone.  Some day I want to grow up and be just like you.  Let's see I am 63 now so I should be grown up in about 12 more years! Laughing

I too am missing and worried about Isabella.  Praying she is just at the hospital finally getting the much needed surgery for her back.

Welcome to all the new ladies, hope you will find this a fun, caring, encouraging, and supportive place to come.  I know is has been a sanity saver for me on more than one occassion.

    Joy and blessings, AJ

Maybe we could look under the kinds of dogs she breeds? Maybe York is the city?

Thanks AJ. Love you too. I bet you are getting really excited now the trip is getting closer. I'm assuming you are not going to make it here but that's okay, you need to do what you can do and no more.

Ginger she breeds King Charles Cavalier Spaniels. I guess doing a google search for breeders will give some information. I might try that myself.

Aly, that is beautiful just the way you took it!

AJ, my son is 8 hours north of Tokyo, 4 hours if you go by the bullet train.  Just getting into Tokyo is 12-13 hours by non-stop for me.  Have fun on your visit!  You deserve it.

    Chrissy

Meant to add detail but was interrupted. Don't know if the link has the patterns you are looking for; hope so. It does have a beautiful knitted chemo turban for anyone in the hair loss predicament.

    Good luck with your plans!

Thanks Hightide, I've started to go through it......their range of patterns is enormous! It looks like most of the patterns are for wool but I'll not give up looking yet.....lol

    Gorgeous picture, Alyson.

Ginger, the ring will look lovely on your hand, I am sure.  It's so great of your hubby to get it for you.  I miss my jewelry right now, because of the moving we've locked everything up in the bank.  Have to get it out once things have settled down a bit.

I can't abide theives.  They have caused us so many problems through the years.  I've only twice had them actually break into our house, though.  Mostly they've broken into the garage, or stolen our vehicles.  (which is bad enough).  I hate it when they break into the house, because it feels like such a terrible violation of your space.

Chrisey, do you know the Brand name of the thread or yarn you plan to use?  If so their web site might have patterns.

AJ, you and I are the same age and I agree, about 12 years until we grow up!  I imagine you're getting very excited about your trip.  I've never been to Japan but would love to go.  Actually, I've never been out of this country at all, come to think of it.

Alyson, I love your new camera too!  Lovely picture.

Thanks Chrissy.  I looked up English breeders of King Charles cavaliers but failed to come up with anything.  No pictures of breeders that looked like Isabella, and none named Isabella but that doesn't mean it's not there somewhere, if indeed she has a webpage.  I hate to think it, but unless she or her DD posts something we might not ever know.

Baby Aiden is to be christened this Sunday at the 8:30 AM service, so I must drag myself out of bed earlier than usual, not an easy task.  Being retired has totally corrupted me.

    Hugs to all.

Kathy enjoy the christening........even if you have to drag your body out of bed early......lol.

I was just wondering if the British Dog Breeders Association might have a web site that lists breeders........I might check that out. I do wish we could all swap our contact details with each other then if for some reason we disappeared as Isabella has at least we could check to see if all was okay.

Not feeling wonderful today, actually for a few days now as I have a mouthful of ulcers again........it hasn't happened for quite a while so obviously my body is under stress which is not a good sign. Oh well, just another thing to add to the list of what to get checked out.

    Have a great day all!

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Just a thought ladies - has anyone asked the mods for help in tracking Isabella down - they might have her email address and perhaps could send a message asking her to contact BCO.  I know you're all worried....

Thanks 208sandy, that's a great idea! I'll send the Mods a PM and see what can be done.

Sandy, that's a great suggestion, and Chrissy, thanks for doing it!  I looked back and Isabella hasn't posted here (or anywhere) since Feb. 24 and she was in so much pain then.   I'm just hoping she got the back surgery she so needed and is all right.

    Nite and hugs to all.

Girls, Mods have checked her activity and she was last on the boards on March 1st but nothing since. I'm going to check the Central Address book and see if she is registered,(I am) and if she isn't, Mods said the will email her for us. At last! Hopefully well find out what's happening.

    Hi all

I contacted the mods several days ago. I used to have Isabella's email but lost it when my computer turned up its toes. They were going to contact Isabella and see if they could get a response. Maybe they might give info if enough of us ask.

I know my chemo list shared addresses  and phone numbers, also a contact person if we were really worried which is a great idea, so how about it. I am quite happy to collect the info if you like and pass it on if you are happy to do so. So PM if you want to share such things. Many of us had Marybe's contact details.

    Big hugs to all

Aly - that was a great picture you posted.  I love all the pretty flowers everyone is posting.  Mine always comes out blurry no matter how good the camera is.  It is called user errors in being able to hold the camera steady even with the auto steady feature turned on.

Chrissy - I will not be able to come this year, but Jimmie said I can come next year.  So maybe I can talk him into later this year when it is warm there and freezing here.  I am still so cold everyday with all the changes in the weather here, it is a wonder everyone does not have pneumonia!

Hugs to all, off to take a nap before finishing the last thing to close my Moms estate.  Almost done with that. YEAH!!!!
