Mac, We have a dry spell mid July to Mid Oct. Most people let their lawns go brown to save water. Trees and other plants stay green. We have a fall with brightly colored leaves which then drop and must be raked. The lawn turns back to green and plants that aren't deciduous stay green. Our weather is very similar to London and Paris.

Mac...yup, I live in Denver...We've been in Colorado for 30 years....first 5 or so years we were in Evergreen, then we moved down the mountain when our oldest daughter was starting kdg. I no longer ski. My son went back to skiing this year after snowboarding for probably 15+ years. My youngest DD would love to ski but since her dad and I gave it up, she doesn't get to go often. We taught all our kids young.

Had open reduction/internal fixation in 1996 for a tibial plateau fracture (was hit by a car when crossing a street): bone graft from iliac crest mixed with epoxy, 13 pins & screws. A year later I asked about hardware removal and was told that even with the bone graft my tibia would fall apart w/o the hardware and it’s in for life. In 2012 I had that knee replaced; when I came to in the recovery room, my orthopod said that the tibia, even with the hardware, had begun to deteriorate so badly that he had to remove the top 2 screws and implant a taller tibial tray. Wouldn’t be surprised if my implant outlasts my leg.

Beautiful, Lisa. Did you draw the heart or just come upon it?

Chisandy, wow your leg's been through a lot. My DD had a plate in her leg for 5 years before the screws and stuff started bothering her. She had all the hardware removed, but, Lisa, she was a young person then.

as the docs are so fond of saying

We ain't spring chickens any more.

I was listening to the radio the other day, and the James Taylor song "Never Die Young" came on. I was singing along and thinking that I'm not gonna do that, then remembered that the young ship has sailed for me. Ha ha!

Karen, I really like the Denver area. It feels so clean and healthy. The mountains are so beautiful. So very different from where I am.

Wren, I have to get out to the Pacific northwest one of these days. I have a nephew and his wife living out there. Actually, he just got married this weekend. They wanted to get married in Big Sur or in a Redwood forest but ran into issues. Not sure if it was financial or timing. But they got married in a coffee shop. With only 30 family and close friends. Sounds perfect to me.

I'm heartbroken about Leah. I met her here first then we met in 2010 at the Race for the Cure in Israel. I had lunch with her the following summer and then in 2012 and this past summer spent the week-end and Shabbat at her house with her lovely family. 5 of her 6 children live in Israel as well as do all but 1 of her grandchildren. We stayed up till all hours of the morning talking like school girls. I will miss her on my trips to Israel. She was beautiful person inside and out. Damn, when will we finally have a cure and stop loosing so many wonderful people. Hugs to everyone.

This is what her children posted on fb earlier today: Baruch dayan haemet.
After a long and valiant battle our dear mother leah bat nachum ז"ל (Leslie) past away last night . the funeral will take place tomorrow (Tuesday) evening . time and place will be announced latter.
    Wishing for better news b"h

Oh wow Lisa!! That pic is gorgeous!!

How is everyone doing? For myself I'm doing really well and life keeps me busy. I have started a new regime with my elder and younger sisters and we now meet up at the nail salon to have our nails done and then go out for lunch. It was getting to the point that even though we don't live that far apart, we never got to catch up very often do this way there is no excuse. ....lol.

I'm going over to Canberra to spend some time with a friend who was dx with a recurrence in her other breast back in November. She has done her surgery and AC chemo and starts on Taxol this week. Her hubby has some family things to deal with so my staying with Trish will give him that opportunity. I will be with her for a week and then I'll spend four more days with my youngest brother and his family.

I'm looking forw a rd to seeing them all.

Take care all! Love n hugs. Chrissy

    Hello ladies!

Just thought I'd stop by and say hello. It's been awhile since I've been on these boards. Lots going on-some good-some not so good.

I'm saddened to hear that Leah has passed on. This disease sucks.

Hope all of you are doing well. I'm off tomorrow to start a new round of tests. My hubby says that my new job is visiting doctors! ☺️

    Hugs to all, lilyros

I'm back on the boards too and was saddened by Leah's passing as well. She looked so well in the Thanksgiving photos and then gone....

How about Wilsie....dare I ask? She hasn't been on here for awhile. Did she pass from the colon cancer? I never knew if it was a primary or secondary to her BC. I pray everyone else is okay?

The pics of mac's house didn't show up for me here, darn it!

Hi Barbe, I don't know what has happened to Wilsie but I do hope she is okay.

How are you doing now? Hope you are well enough with everything under control.

I'm well, busy, and flat out talking to my younger sister who was dx with Lymphoma last week.......so cancer has tapped another of my siblings on the shoulder.........I think it time it just buggered off!

Lisa, love all your picks as usual.

Take care all! Love n hugs. Chrissy
