    Thanks Karen.

Kathy you are doing well to be on the computer just after cataract surgery! You go girl!! Hope your eyes are way better once the bluriness clears for you!

Whilt sitting in my lounge this morning I looked out the open door and suddenly realized that Autumn has finally arrived! The leaves on the trees near my home and in my garden have a decidedly yellow tinge and the duvet is now required on the bed at night. As you girls in the northern hemisphere welcome the warmth of spring we are heading into the chills of winter. Bring it on!!!!! Lol.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

hi all! The title caught my eye...not just the "older" part. But the "with sense" part too! Turned 70 last August- yes I am a Leo! Still working part time and enjoy meeting new people. Dx in March 2016 with IDC: Tubular. Lumpectomy Apr 6, did really well; fabulous surgeon at Cleveland Cinic ... and a good looking guy to boot! My family loved him! Was very small tumor found on mammogram. Shock! My Mom was a little younger than me when she felt the lump. 25 Years ago. Hers had metastecised found in 9 nodes, spread to colon and then liver. She never made it to 5 years. I am one of 6 siblings, one is a brother. All us girls knew one of us would have breast cancer. I'm the one! I had rectal cancer 24 years ago with surgery, chemo and radiation. Success! So I feel good with my prognosis now.

I started my 16 radiation treatments yesterday and I'm hanging in there. Now you know all about me!

To help me chill out through this process, I studied hummingbirds and concentrated on attracting them this spring to my backyard. I watched the progress of their migration north from their winter grounds in Central America. I had a ruby throated couple visit my feeder on Mothers Day and they have stayed around and believe she has built a nest, because she is getting chubby! I see my pretty hummer at my feeder several times a day and it brings me joy!

So do what makes your heart sing. Paint, read, play with your grand children, hug your kids and husband a lot. One thing I learned is that life is short, there are no guarantees, and I know what is important in life! Blessings sisters

Hi cimgraph and welcome. Sounds like you are doing really well with your treatment and that's a good thing. Good luck with your rads abd be sure to moisturize well.

Love that you have hummers in your garden.......we don't have them here in Australia but I did get to see some in the feather (can't say flesh as it's covered....lol) when I visited the USA back in 2011. I always knew they were small but was surprised at just how small they are. Oh I do hope you are right about the nest and possible babies! How exciting!

We are heading into winter and the fire is being lit on a daily basis now so I now have to step over my cat and dog as they jocky for position in front of it.

This is the sort if weather that keeps me inside but that's ojay as I have loads of things to do.

Hi to all the other girls! I know this thread has been quiet of late but I put that down to the fact that life takes over and that's a really good thing.

    Lovebn hugs all! Chrissy

hi Lisa and Karen! Yes, I'm still here. Lisa keep on posting your pics as I love seeing them.

I can't believe that this thread has been so quiet for so long but I guess people are off living their lives, and that's a good thing.

I am busy also, I've opened my own antique shop and I also sell some of my photography as cards as well as dream catchers that I make. I'm only open four days a week so I still have time for doc appointments etc. So far so good.

Lisa, how is your arm now? Have you finally had healing progress?

Karen, how are you coping with DD gone? I know you will be missing her. She has grown into a lovely young lady and you should be very proud of her.

Well time for work, take it easy.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hi Chrissy, DD left 3 weeks ago. I miss her, but she texts me, sends me pictures and we talk, so it bridges the distance! But most importantly, she loves her program. She knows several girls in the program and her bff is there too. The program she is in also posts pictures on fb. G-d willing, I will go see her the end of December on my winter break. Tomorrow is the Komen RFTC and she has always done it with me...it just doesn't feel the same without her, but I know she will be there in spirit...plus I'm wearing her pink tutu!!!

    Hugs to you.

    Hi Ladies!

It's been awhile. I see this thread isn't nearly as active as it used to be. I hope it is because everyone is off busy with life! Lots going on here. Been babysitting my youngest granddaughter 4 days a week. Lucky for me, hubby is around some days to help out. He's planning on retiring next year, so hopefully we will get to do some traveling. I graduated from 3 month visits to 6 month recently. That makes me a bit nervous tho. I hate all the dr visits. But at the same time, at least I've always felt if anything cropped up, it would be found quickly. still dealing with the neuropathy...I guess that's lifelong issue now. Still having some eye troubles, but I'm no spring chicken. LOL Hope you are all doing well. I shall try to be better about checking in.

    hugs to you all, lilyrose

Hi Lilyrose, lovely to hear from you! Yes, life has a habit of taking over, thank goodness.....lol. You sound really busy with your grandies but it's fabulous to be able to spend time with them. Graduating to longer between visits to the doc sure can make one nervous but it won't be long before you are more than comfortable with it, besides, if something does crop up then you always have your regular doc to go to for a look see.

    How are you doing Barb?

I'm doing good, had some scans the other week as I was having some problems and my GP is a bit of a worry wort.....lol.....just wanted to make sure that the pain I was having was not met related. It wasn't so I am now under orders to have regular massage.......oh woe is me! such harsh treatment, I don't know how I'm going to cope!....lol. Needless to say, I'm very happy with the dx and the treatment. So for me, I'm still NED and busier than ever.

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

hey everyone! I have been absent from the boards, too for quite a while. I miss you gals!

I am doing okay BC. wise. it is that time of year for me to get checked out. I think I'm at the 5 year mark! Anyway, in a couple of weeks I go to Boston for a day at MA Gen. I start off with a genetic consulor , then blood work, then mammogram, then surgeon . My new oncologist is a gynecologist too. So he wants to do more genetic testing . He's a sweet man from your side of the pond, Chrissy.

I have finally been diagnosed with Lyme disease and 5 other co-infections. (Babesia , bartenella , Burcella, and some form of pneumonia that just hangs out in the lungs and sometig else that I can't remember now) it feels good to finally know what's going on with me , but I feel really crummy most of the time. I found a Lyme literate doctor in Rhode Island that has prescribed lots of antibiotics and anti malaria drugs for me and is watching me closely.

Oh it's so good to "hear" all your voices again!

Wonderful to hear from you Mac!!! Why are you seeing a surgeon? Bummer about the Lyme but good to know what to aim treatment at.

barbe, I just always go back to my BS every year or her PA. When I am leaving the appt, they want me to set up another appt. a year away. It is always near my anniversary of dx. Puts excitement into my Christmas. Then I see my MO every 6 months.

3Jays, so good to see you here!

yes, it is nice to have a tx plan in place. I just hate having to be patient and having my life on hold while I go thru this. But this, too shall pass.

Wow! So good to hear from 3Jays and Mac! I hit my 5 year mark in March and no one wants to see me after that. I'll see my PCP and will be finished with Arimidex. yay!

Good news Wren! You'll still get yearly mammos on lefty, tho, right?

I'm at my 5 year anniv. too I wonder if things will change.

I'm stage IV now, if you guys didn't know. A recurrence in my chest wall and some nodes. Had rads and am on Arimidex and having problems right now with a new nodule in my lung and some brain issues. Prayers gratefully accepted.

so this is how my day goes. I decide I need to change the candles on my mantle to white instead of blue for the holiday. I take the blue ones out, get the white ones out of their resting place. Spend the next half an hour searching for where I put the white ones down, start doing the dishes in my sink, decide to put some ornaments on my tree, finally remember the mantle search some more for the white candles, find one, put it up. Decide to go out and pick some bitter sweet for the red berries (which involves suiting up into my winter apparel), come back in fix a cup of tea and when I sit down with the tea, spy the white candles! Finally put them in and then take this picture for all of you, but mostly for Barbe!

    macatacmv Member Posts: 1,200

so, of course I want to post more pics, but my phone and computer are not communicating. I had to give up for now. I'm already driving myself crazy. Maybe tomorrow

If y'all remember the story about the fireplace. I had a good friend design and build it, but he was taking too long for the contractor's wife that was "helping" with design options. So she fired him before he could finish it. It was suppose to go further up the wall, but now I am happy with the outcome. It makes me happy!

    Hi girls!

Damn Barbe! that sure is shitty news and I sincerely hope your new treatment works well for you will very few if any side effects.

Nancy! So lovely to see you!! Lol, your day sounds really familiar..........maybe because I seem to have many days like that myself. I wander around, start one thing and all of a sudden I am doing something else because I wasn't sure of what I was doing in the first place.........I seem to find myself with half a dozen things on the go before I get back to the original.

I love, love, love your fire place! It is stunning!!! Yes, I remember well the kerfuffle that went on when it was being built but it couldn't have ended up being any better. I see the white candle!!

We are going to my second DD's for Christmas this year again........can't say I'm sorry as it means way less work and prep for me and way less exhaustion after. My responsibility this year is the Ham and baste, the leg of lamb...roasted and cold, the home made fruit mince pies and the plum pudding ice cream.........it's too hot for the steamed kind. That's it, that's my lot. .I will get the ice cream and the mince pies done this week and into the freezer as it is my youngest grandson's 18th Birthday next week and I have his cake to bake as well........I just hope the weather stays on the cooler side as my kitchen will be very hot with the oven going.

Love n hugs to all. Chrissy
