ShepKitty: Love the Rocky pic....2nd pic looks like they're lovers, ha ha. We went to see Thomas and Percy last Sunday. Really fun day, but my back was screaming the next day because we walked around for a couple of hours looking at stuff...that's the most I've walked in months. I'm going to the "Bay Area Cancer Connection" seminar in Redwood City next Friday, and it will be a LONG day, so I have to keep up the walking b4 I go so I won't be too tired. I usually get around w/my cane, but gonna throw my walker in the trunk just in case I need it. Taking Ativan for nausea? Tell me more!
WildT: All those leaves...I'm impressed. Wish I could still do yard work. Can't b/c of bone mets, but sometimes when DH is not around, I prune/dead head my rose bushes. He gets mad when he catches me out there...just trying to be protective, bless his heart.
DH is taking Monday off so he can deal w/the tricker treaters (he works nights). I'm having an infusion that afternoon, so I'm going to spend the early evening in the La-Z-Boy. Have a great weekend!

Wildtulip- I forgot to answer your question about my feet in NYC. In general, I did pretty well but found myself having a hard time by the last day when we were down at the 911 Memorial and Museum. We did a lot of walking in that area, then walked over through the City Hall park and across the Brooklyn Bridge. I was slowing down at that point when we got on the bridge, and my sister was pushing at me to go faster, and told her to go ahead if she needed to walk faster. She backed off.
We probably walked 5-6 miles every day. Whew!

smarty - wow Ben should be in commercials. That smile is super adorable. Glad to eat your Mom is home
Lovely. Lol my autocorrect. Didn't even notice it. Some days donkey is the more appropriate word. Teenage hormone stuff is tough !
Mommy2. Hooray for credible online classes now. Snow already ? Boo. Was 80 today here.
Junieb. 7 doz cupcakes ? Holy moly. U rock
Shep. Glad the Ativan helped this time
Wild tulip. Never seen a leaf angel. Awesome !
Bbl only 2 hours until The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. Gotta get my jammies on and popcorn ready. Ds1 home sick today so off to bed early. Ds2 staying the night at a fruends and dh getting up like 3 am To go hunting so surely he will go to bed early. Yea! No one hollering for mom to do this or that. Just me and the Charlie Brown gang.
I snail mailed holeinone like last week or week before. I can't remember. 😣. So far no response. Praying she is off to an extended golfing tournament

Snow didn't stay. Melted when it turned to rain. Think we got about an inch of snow and probably an inch of rain. We need any form of precipitation we can get. In drought conditions and under mandatory water conservation order here.
Started looking at course offerings for Spring term at SNHU today. Found a few classes that sound interesting like Shakespeare. The best thing about if I take that course, is I may not have to buy the books. I have the Complete Works of Shakespeare already.

our lunch get together. Lover, Sensi, smaarty, and Jean. Nice conversation. Turns out Jean is also a quilter and used to belong to the same guild I'm in now.

Patty: I LOVE Charlie Brown. Always look forward to "Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown," and "The Great Pumpkin." Even tho we have the DVDs, we still watch it on real TV like we did when we were kids.
Smaarty: How fun to get together for lunch. Glad you had a great time.

What a beautiful photo. I can tell you all had a good time based on those smiles.
Glad to see Sensitive out too, so good for you friends. Being home with treatment gets to be a drag on one's self. I remember it only too well.

Lover- how did you know that NCIS is my favorite show. Love it when I see a Gibbs head slap!

Good morning/night friends
Forward, I'm so sorry about your dog. Big hugs!!!
Loverly, You are so sweet to be protective of me. I can tell you're a really good mom to your DD's...you have such a good heart. And YOU crack me up!
Lita, that was just a portion of leaves in my yard. More work to do. I have been dealing with med SE's, so things aren't easy to do, but it's either do them or pay to have someone do them. I was taken off meds a few weeks ago, so SE's improving, which helps. Good luck with your infusion Monday!
Jazzy, Wow..you really tested those feet in NY. I am amazed you were able to keep that pace up until the end. Good for you! I'm glad you spoke up when you needed to slow down. We need to advocate for ourselves!!
Smaarty, thanks for posting group photo. All of you look so great! It's nice you CA girls can get together. I've always wanted to go to CA..now I know some people I could visit if I make it out that way.
Patty, I hope you enjoyed your peaceful Charlie Brown time.
I try so hard to enjoy the NOW, but I have to say, I cannot wait until my exchange in Dec. SO tired of these hard TE's.
I hope everyone has a good Saturday!

Having a bad night tonight. My hip pain is nagging me right now. Need happy thoughts.

Meow, I don't recall if we've "met," but I'm so sorry for your pain. Sending you peaceful thoughts.

Wildtulip- I have always had to speak up and push back with my sister. She prides herself with the comment that when we are together, she plans to "run me in to the ground." Funny thing was she would crash every afternoon after we were out and about for the day, and exclaim "I am not used to going day and night". When she needed to rest/slow down, we did.
She also had bc the same time I did and went through much more treatment than I did. She always comments that it is over and she has no residual effects from anything. But she does, I see them and she just does not want to acknowledge them. I have to be very careful with her because she will always push at me and I have new boundaries after all this!
Meow- thank you for joining our thread. I am sorry to hear about your pain last night. Are you feeling better today?

Smarty, Sensi, Loverly - thanks for the invite ladies, I truly enjoyed myself. Ive only been the doctor or grocery store since surgery so it was nice to have a social outing. Looking forward to our next visit already. I was exhausted after and went right home for a nap.
Lunch report - Smarty is actually someone I've met before but didnt realize it, what a small world. Shes so warm and welcoming, Oh and she takes charge and gets our picture taken, I always forget those things. Sensi smiles ALL the time, shes positive and very strong and a sweet person . Loverly is genuinely kind and smart and I thought just a little quiet ... maybe we were sitting too far apart! Three really nice gals, nothing weird to report at all!
shep - discussion about the old Lost in Space TV shows came up at our house because the 1990s movie came on and it was so awful. Thanks for spelling out the Fart Faced, I was going to have to ask what FFH stood for, I even googled it. I finally tried the gabapentin last night, a little groggy this morning, crossing my fingers. Will ask about Cymbalta if this is doesnt work out.
wildt - A man that cooks and cleans up what a combo that would be
Jazzy- your sister and you were diagnosed around the same time

Oh my goodness! Jean is just adorable! Great picture! We have known Loverly, Sensi and Smaarty have major adorableness.......and now there's four of you together. Remember girls, with great cuteness comes great responsibility........use your powers wisely. Maybe for something like world domination? Loverly was quiet? Hmm, she has been behaving here lately.......ya'll better keep a close watch on her. .......
Weekend update............still hate FFH. Need to watch Deloris Claiborne again.....very uplifting with one of my all time fave quotes..............

JeanQ- I loved Lost in Space, the old TV show but the movie was awful. Saw it on HBO recently and not impressed. I was probably 8-9 yrs old and was riveted to the tele when it used to be on. Saw some reruns on MeTV recently of the show. Seemed scary then, seems kind of corny now but so great just the same. The guy that played Dr. Smith was by far the best actor.
My sister and I were diagnosed two months apart. She found hers through a lump, and went in to be seen and they sent her immediately to go have a biopsy the same day. She received the dx the next day and was in chemo very quickly. She lives in CA and went to help her through the first chemo.
That same month, I had my annual mammography. They called me back for second views and the radiologist came in to talk to me and said there was something very small that had been on the films before, but it had changed. They recommended the biopsy and it came back positive.
During all that, I told myself that it would never play out that way, two sisters getting cancer at the same time. But we did and we both got through it. I am four years out next month, she is a few months ahead of me.
There are a lot of women here who have also had a sister who has gotten BC. We have no history of bc in our family, so I always tell people that, don't assume you can't get it just because of no family history. We now have a family history of bc beginning with us (neither of us has children).

Have you heard the news, Jazzy? Netflix is doing a remake of Lost in Space with Toby Stephens playing Daddy John Robinson. (He is actually Dame Maggie Smith's and Sir Robert Stephens' son.) Toby Stephens is currently playing Captain Flint on Black Sails. He was also in the James Bond movie, Die Another Day. I don't usually go for gingers, but he is one sexy man. The new show is slated to be out in 2018.
Gees, I hope I'm still alive when it comes out!

Is anyone else completely fed up with this nasty election? I mailed in my absentee ballot last week, and I made the right decisions for me, but I almost felt like writing in Tinky Winky or the Minion, Stuart. Even tho I didn't vote for him, the Addams Family's Cousin Itt is another candidate I could get behind. (Cross posted on another thread.)
And here's Tinky for Vice President...

Lita- oh yes, ready for this election to be over. I have been working for one of the campaigns and going today to do my last stint there and calling it done. I voted early this week and hearing where there is early voting, I heard the turn out is strong.
There is a protest going on here today and I was asked to participate, but declined. I am not the person who wants to be put in the middle of potential violence.

Smaarty - lovely to see the photo of you, Lover, Sensi and Jean.
Lita we are SOOOO fed up of the current US election. I mean frothing at the mouth fed up. First thing on every news bulletin and takes up most of the news bulletin too. And we don't even live there.
However big fans of Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon.
Electionitis
Electionitis is a condition which affects some political candidates and citizens during prolonged election cycles.
This condition is characterized by a growing sense of fatigue with the election and the issues, and a tendency to express frustration with politics and the media.
The best cure for electionitis is an election, which will end the cycle.
