Hope I can get pic to my e mail. Elena looks funny in her costume. Don't tell Claire I dais that...shhhhh

Lover...shingles aren't bad at all. There popped up in my surgical boob area. Really don't have any feeling there. And yes I am on anti viral and have had no more break outs since. The ones I have are already scabbed up.....as far as restaurants go, I have a really bad peanut allergy, so gotta be careful there. Claire is really really excited to meet you guys too.

    Back to cleaning :)

loverly. What. Didn't understand charlie brown? Lol. About as hard as it is to understand my typos sometimes.

Dss didn't get to do trick or treating. Dhs step dad died sunday. He was 84. Dh and dss left for tx 8 hours - Monday morning. I couldn't make the trip. My back couldn't handle it. I hate not being able to be there to console dss. They've not been to many funerals. Watching them grieve in their own ways sat made me think how are they going to handle my death. Ugh. Dh is a great day and I know he will do the very best he can but with his own pain I hope it's enough.

Patty- sorry to hear of DH's stepdad loss and hope the services bring comfort to the family. Sounds like a big road trip though and better for you to stay home. You will be there to comfort him when he comes back friend.

Moring ladies....Happy Wacky Wednesday, Lover where's our pic? ;)

So my morning gripe, I went to do labs yesterday and decided to get all labs out of the way....Had some for other doctors that I was suppose to due towards the end of Nov. Looks like the chemo threw my thyroid numbers out of whack.  Normal TSH is 0.35-3.30, mine came back 42.68.  Doc asked if I had missed any doses or was I taking right dosage.  Missed a couple over the past months, but my guess is it was the chemo.  My numbers normally always have come back within range with missing a couple dosages.  Will be interested to see what doc wants me to do, since we don't see each other till Dec 5.

    Have a good day all.

Yes Jazzy, no one is immune to the challenges of life. The yolk is much heavier when we are dealt with several bad cards at one time. That is when we most need a strong support system, our Rock. Well, we should rely on the Rock all the time.

Oh no Mommy! Your DH got demoted to FFH? I am sorry to say that my DH is a baby too when he is sick. It can get annoying. Haha!

Grandma Susan, I don't know what choo talkin' about... Elena looks adorable in that costume! Hey, no better place to get shingles then a numb body part. Glad the antiviral is working. Ok, will make sure no peanuts. I don't carry Epi-pen around plus I am not current on my CPR.

Patty, hugs. We shouldn't have to think about how our young kids would manage with us gone. Tough to worry about them being away and not there to comfort them. When will they be home?

Watched Charlie Brown our first Christmas here. Only understood a few English words as I had only been in the States for three months. I love it now. My kids love the show also, but not as much as I .

Sensi, I wonder if it's a combo of both chemo and hemochromatosis that are causing your thyroid to go out of wack. Could it be possible that the build up of iron has somehow decreased the absorption of your thyroid med? Just a thought. Do you have an endocrinologist? Maybe it's time for a visit from the vampire. Muahahaha.

    Hello my other friends.

Patty - So sorry to hear of your family's loss. I hope the traveling goes smoothly for your DH and boys. I had an all day jammies day on Sunday. So today it was your turn.

Smaarty - The puppies are only 3 weeks old today and so far they look like little snausages on legs. I have a few names on my list, but Friday seems to be the one I come back to.

Susan - Awww! Elena does make an adorable little pumpkin. Thanks for sharing.

Shep - I enjoyed seeing your pic of you and FFH. Although you were in costume, you look incredibly young. How did your back do going trick or treating with your niece & nephew?

Sensi - Yikes! that thyroid count is HIGH. Isn't there any way you can communicate with you doctor before Dec.5th? Do you have access to a patient portal to ask him? The thyroid affects so many parts of our bodies that I wouldn't feel comfortable waiting so long.

Has Chance forgiven you? Yea, I bet he has. Dogs are such loyal & loving friends that don't hold grudges. Nerdy

I had an MRI of my Thoracic spine today and I purposely took extra pain meds to enable me to lay on my back for a hour. I got home at 12 noon and slept until nearly 7 p.m. and still feel rather loopy. I don't like this sensation at all.

On the bright side though, today is day 48 of NO hip dislocations. YEAH! Got a puppy coming, so I have to be upright.

Also, when I spoke with the breeder on Sunday we discussed the contract I will be signing when I pick my pup up. She has a clause in it discussing circumstances in which I could return my puppy, and I asked her if at some point in the future if my health declines significantly would she take him back. She said, absolutely and that she would re-home him with the right people. This may seem rather premature, but I am a planner and it is reassuring to have that avenue open should it become necessary. Especially since I don't have any family to do it. Of course I hope to be around for his entire life, fully functional. But only God knows that for sure.

Loverly - I busted out laughing at the "Dog for Sale" pic. Priceless.

Feline - How are things with you?

Mags - How's your mouth doing?

M0mmy - Yeah! NO homework. Must feel like a little stay-cation in the middle of the semester.

Hello Jazzyg, Lookie, Queenie, JeanQ and anyone else I've missed. Goodnight.

jazzy. Relax and sleep. You'll feel better tomorrow. I always get a back ache laying on that card table. Ouch. New puppy coming home countdown ?

Lovely. How long have you been in the states and what brought you here ? Where are you from ?

Took a nap at5:30 - 7 pm. Oops now wide awake.

Well, it's still early for us Californians, but I am in bed with my smart phone. Bad habit I know.

Patty, I shared awhile back our escape from Viet Nam. I think you were not well at the time. Anyway, we left the country three years after north VN invaded the south. Life under communism was horrible. Big Brother was always watching, thus no freedom. We were not allowed to have anything with Western influence. No books or music. Under communism, what belongs to you really belongs to the government. We had to show loyalty to the dead Ho Chi Minh. No freedom of speech. You could be thrown in jail for speaking your mind. Job was hard to find unless you have connections with government officials. Oh and the brain washing...it's real. Americans are bad people.Communist ideology sounds good, but in the end those with the power become Capitalist themselves. Socialism is ally of Communism.

It has been 38 years since we left. VN is still one of five Communist countries. The rich is very rich and there are still many who live in poverty.

JunieB, hoping for favorable MRI result. Friday is an interesting name.

JeanQ, did you part way with the drain? Thought about you when I had the burning pain today at work and in the shower. Have you tried the Gaba yet? Hope it works for you. Slow titration is good to prevent sedation.

ShepK, is there hope for FFH to get promoted to DH?

Ms. S, when are you back from Austallia?

Hey Lover- my mind won't shut off, so I'm in bed with phone also being bad. I've been in touch with my Endo doc via mychart. She is increasing my synthroid. I will repeat labs before I see her on Dec 5. Chemos has throw everything out of whack on me. Also did my labs for hemochromatosis, and my ferritin is going up which means I'll have to have phlebotomy, and here I thought I was done with the infusion center!!

I ran into Jean at our appointments on Monday, but I'll let her give you her the updates 😉. Thanks for the whacky Wednesday pics. Hope the sleep fairies as I like to call them, find you soon

    Hi ladies!

Loverly, What's this about burning pain? What's going on with you? Spill it! I have been exercising an average of 5 days a week. I lost a couple pounds, then gained one back. I need to drink more water and keep my paws off the sweets. I think going of the meds last month has thrown things off, but I keep trying. I do feel stronger being off the meds and with the consistent exercise. Realistically I won't reach my ultimate weight goal by my surgery date, but as long as I'm exercising, eating healthy and making slow progress, I'm good.

JeanQ, You are right about cute repairmen..things would not get done. Especially in this male attention deprived house! Did you get the temp drain out? I don't think there is anything to do to prevent fluid build up, except like you said, take it easy. In general, I think it just either happens or doesn't.

Smaarty, Evie's Halloween picture is cute! It made me laugh, though, because around here we could never trick or treat with bare legs!!

Junie and Patty, I love PJ days!

Junie, I'm so glad your hip is behaving! Yay...48 days!! I think it's very loving of you to think about the puppy's future..just in case.

Shep, Sounds like a nice birthday. You make an ADORABLE wolf!! Did FF give you a gift?

Susan, Elena makes a cute pumpkin!

Sensi, Sorry to hear your thyroid is off. I'm surprised you didn't have symptoms with how wacky it is.

Patty, I'm sorry for your loss and that you aren't able to be there in person for your DSs. Although I'm not stage 4, I so understand your thoughts. I REALLY worry about my kids too, even though they have a dad..it's not the same. With both my kids having special needs, they will need some guidance always, so even if I live 30-40 more years, I worry about what will happen with them at that point. Hugs, sister.

I got up just before 3am and gave my DD some formula..the advantages of a feeding tube. This morning she's having minor surgery on her vocal cord. It's a procedure we've done before and she is typically in the OR just 1/2 hour. I'll get my DS off to school, then DD and I will go to hospital, and hopefully be done in time to pick up DS. I do have back up for DS if things run late, though. I'm off to exercise, and then begin our day. It's the end of a term, so no school tomorrow...we all get to hang out and recover together.

Yeah Lover, he had gotten demoted to FF but I promoted him back to DH last night.

Jazzy- It feels great to not have to do anything this week. Looked into next week's assignments and I only have one thing to do.

Good morning friends- such a busy week at work and pushing hard for my client right now. Wrangling up the vendors, doctors and all the rest. Jazzy rules this week! We are in the big push to the go live now.

JazzyJ- that is so forward thinking to ask about taking the puppy back if anything changes. How many people never think of that when they get a pet? We know things can change for anyone at any time, so good to have a plan. Good to hear the hip has stayed put for awhile now. you are tracking to wellness girlfriend and glad to hear this!

Sensitive- I know you finished chemo, are you done with the major treatment? I see your are Tamox so you are on that journey for the longer term meds (AIs for me) like many others here. I hope you continue to feel better and stronger every day.

Loverly- your pictures just crack me up. SillyHeart

Weather is changing with a little rain over night (good to see at the fall has been a super dry one).

Got some work to do before I go in. Going to a conference tomorrow, and looking forward to that. See you all back here in a few days friends!
