We went to Jasper at the end of May and had fabulous weather, above normal temperatures. We saw numerous animals, including bears. The bears were down lower because the ice pack on mountains hadn't melted yet.

I went to Victoria with my daughter a couple of weeks ago, it's a great city. We did lots of sightseeing and eating. My daughter is playing the piano on the ocean. It was Canada's 150 birthday this year and the piano was painted red and white. We also saw a humpback whale, on our whale watching tour.

We also went to Butchart gardens, which I loved. My daughter wasn't as excited as me lol.

Lookie! Lookie! So,so happy to see you ~ you have been very much missed. 🤗
Your pictures are stunning. I can almost feel the spray and hear the thunder of the water as it rushes over the boulders to make that beautiful waterfall. Is that the whale's tail off to the left of the boat? I've never seen a whale in the ocean. I don't know if I would be afraid, in awe or a little of both! Ohhh and your DD playing the piano....is that a flock of sea birds below in the water? Lucky "ducks" getting their own private serenade. Like picture of a fairy story come to life. So magical an image. The Garden looks like a fairyland too. DD didn't like the garden visit? Sweet of her to go along with you anyway. I hope you took her for an ice cream after....my baby is 22 and I still use that as an incentive; works like a charm! Love the photo of you with your DH in the desert. Beautiful couple, beautiful scenery. Thank you ever so much for sharing your travels. Hoping that someday soon we'll be able to start traveling again. You've got my wanderlust itching.....I get antsy when in one place for too long. (not REAL ants -had to be clear on that after Queenie''s worms)
Smaarty, Eeyore, Kath and MammaRay have been popping in......so good to have our dear Owlies back. Yoo-hoo! We need our Peppy too!
Naughty Loverly. I am always good. Ha! As for your writing....you are very, very gifted. You make us feel like we are right by your side when you share your thoughts and stories with us. The proof of your talent is your concern to get everything "just right". And you do! Whether for your own eyes or to share with others, don't ever stop writing!

Oh Forward, it is such a delight to hear that you are feeling well and had a wonderful time here in the States. You and DH look great. Love the photo of your DD. It looks like it could belong in a magazine, calendar, or on a jazz album cover. That picture of the Butchart Gardens brought back memories. Had a great time in Victoria. Such lovely place. Thank you for the beautiful pictures. Is that Jasper National park north of Banff? So beautiful!!! Would love to visit Banff and maybe Jasper in a few years. How I see your garden this year?
Tapper, I just realized I forgot to answer your question about the elevation of our hike last Saturday ( sorry, I blame it on the ADD). We were at 8200+ ft elevation. Of course we didn't start the hike at sea level. Ha! I think it is about 1700 ft elevation gain from the beginning of the Mt Judah trail to the highest point.
Can't fall asleep because I am worried about Dad. He had a biopsy yesterday on his prostate and developed fever and chills today. Started the Cipro this afternoon and fever didn't break until a few minutes ago. My sister is at my parents' place now. Feel a bit better so I am going to try to go to bed. Night night.

Loverly, prostate biopsy can be quite painful after local anaestetic wears off. My DH was gasping for over the counter pain relief when I picked him up after biopsy. I hope your Dad is doing better today and best wishes for negative results.
LookForward what beautiful pictures. How do locals keep that outdoor piano in tune? Or was it only outside for a once-off?

LookForward, Beautiful photos. I was a bit disappointed in Buchart Gardens. I guess I was expecting more of a botanical garden. Since we have the same weather, it was a lot of flowers we have as well. Sedona is on my list of places I would like to visit. Good to see you again.

Forward, I meant to say " How is your garden?" not " How I see your garden?" Darn autocorrect!
Feline, thank you! Dad seems better today. I didn't know hada biopsy. I would have talked him out of it. At 77 with mild symptoms, I don't think you need to be aggressive even if it's cancer.

Lovely I hope your dad is feeling better today. Yes Jasper is north of Banff , both areas are beautiful. We usually go off season when it not as busy. Your hike looked wonderful, was that snow or white rocks? My garden is doing well and we are harvesting the veggies.
Shep how are you feeling, has your eye sight improved? We had an opportunity to get a 5 year old Bichon Frise cross this week , I much as I would of liked to I had to say no. I had one a few years ago and really miss him. I want to do some traveling in the next couple of years and didn't feel it would be fair to constantly leave the dog. My daughters dog is here for a sleepover tonight. That black dot in the water was the whale.
Feelingfine I wondered the same thing myself. Apparently the community has been putting pianos on the beach for a few years.

His appetite had returned and no fever this afternoon. He was joking around. Then about an hour after I returned from my parents' place, my sister called and told me the fever/chills came back. Sigh. The burning during urination has improved though so the antibiotics must be working. If the fever continues tomorrow, we will take him to urgent care clinic. Poor mom didn't get any shut eyes at all yesterday checking on him through out the night. At on each point, my sister overheard him telling my mom " Woman, stop poking at me and let me sleep." She was just trying to take his temperature and wiping the sweats off his forehead. Those two bicker like children sometime. Thank you for the well wishes.
You are right....it's hard to travel when you have a dog. Oh that was snow on the mountain..,but it was quite warm though.
Cute little guy you have there.

And may I add, some linger.
You definitely don't fall in the quiet category.

Sassy - It is 11:45 p.m., but I wanted to make sure to wish you a very Happy Birthday! before I curl up with my pillow tonight.

Loverly - Sorry to hear about your Dad. I hope he will be much improved by morning and you don't have to take him to Urgent Care. He doesn't seem like he'd be real thrilled about it.
Also, Kirby's paw is all better. He slept most of the day on the couch and when I took him out this evening he didn't act as if he had any discomfort. If it was a bee sting, it didn't leave any lasting effects. Thankfully!
Lookie - Very nice pic. of you and your DH. Plus, the pics of the gardens were beautiful too. Your daughters dog looks like a sweetie.
Okay, I am off to bed. I hope everyone sleeps well. Goodnight!

Feline ~ I hadn't thought of how a piano would stay in tune out in the elements. You must be a musician? Such a talented lady you are! My BFF lives in Nashua, New Hampshire. The city started placing pianos in different spots around town last year. His wife will end up giving mini concerts whenever they come across one. I'll have to ask her about how the pianos are properly maintained outside.
Lookie ~ Thank you for asking about my eyes. They are so much better now! I can even read numbers again! I'm not cleared for driving yet.....hoping that will happen soon. How funny about your grandpuppy; we are babysitting our grandpup too! Ours is a Boston Terrier. Very friendly but not very bright. Your grand is a "real"dog and is quite lovely. Wanna trade?
JunieB ~ Big sigh of relief your boy is feeling better. If only they cold talk and tell us what is wrong
Loverly ~ (((hugs))) and prayers
Wishing all a restful night full of happy dreams 💕💤

Hi Shep,
not a musician just artsy, always hanging with the arts crowd. DD is a dancer and sings as well, DS used to sing in national children's choir (he's 21 now). Both did piano and gave up, in DD's case to concentrate on ballet. Worst thing for going out of tune, so I have heard, is the harp. It's said if you open a door a harp goes out of tune
Loverly, hoping your Dad is on the mend soon. Truly I think the biopsy is inevitable once any kind of symptoms present, even if physician is hopeful of NED Without biopsy they cannot determine whether cancer is present and IF present what grade the cancer is, grade determining the aggressiveness. If present initial staging will be attempted by scans. Prostate cancer grading and staging is actually quite different from BC. However I do hope that the tests will prove NED. XXX

Shep - Thanks, here I am. Thuy told me you were thinking about me during my scary testing time. I'm really glad to have a clear result but just now realizing how worried I've been all these years. Hope you are doing well and thank you again for your kind thoughts.

Peppy ~ So happy to see you! And very relieved your scans were clear. Fear is an awful thing.... our clever minds are no help either. What we imagine is not always as bad as what is real. Hope your Gus Gus Kitty helps to chase the creepy crawlies out. Kitties are naturally gifted at chasing the bogeyman away. Plus, you always have us! (((HUGS)))

Happy birthday Sas. Sorry we didn't meet up. The sad part was the vendor hall was open to the public, new this year. It used to be limited to members and those that paid for the conference.
Lover, how fast the babies grow. How old is your niece now? Evie is already 19 mos.
junieB, has Kirby's color changed? He seems much lighter than when he was little?
Last day tomorrow at the parks, going to hit 2 of them, Epcot and magic kingdom. Then home on Tuesday. Sas, don't like your weather here, too much humidity. 😱
Night all. Be good out there.
