M0mmy ~ How mean of you to have kept such a handsome fellow all to yourself! Oh that sweet face and lovely tufty ears! I'm guessing Sheltie as he looks much too youthful to be a 10 year Collie. (I do have a soft spot for both breeds) You must share every picture you have of him - not all at once of course, but as often as you can. And stories too! Hope he had wonderful birthday 🎂 🐶

How is your Princess? I don't think we have seen her since she was a little kitten. We need Princess pictures too! 😻

Yep, Jackson is a Sheltie. He's been through a lot with me. As for Princess here is a picture I took of her last Christmas. She'll be 3 in September.

OHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhMommy, pretty Princess cat and pretty Jackson dog........

lovely thanks for the link. Oddly, the b and n keys seem to be w a widely spread problem. Many solutions, but most lead to drivers. My system says drivers are okay. Some solutions say to delete drivers and redownload. Which means I have to go to HP pic the drivers download them. Then delete keyboard drivers..I tried that... almost, but the are very difficult to deal with.

it's a' very confusing for too numerous reasons to describe, other than it's a literal pain in the neck. Oldneckproblem is always made worse, by odd uses of shoulders. I have learned over the years what to do and not do. this is a not do scenario.

Now some bad news...Nick has wisdom teeth problems. No money, no insurance. i'll take care of it, but my pool vacuum barracuda died, I need a crown, This is about greater than 2500unplanned for... Oh well. Chit happens.

What's bizarre is Nick has a parent, a grandparent, another set of grand parents., that sent this kid off to live in the woods at 14. He's decent. He's good. Has to be directed. Donnie is being a very good director. Me too when appropriate. The kid is malleable. So much teaching to do. I started with Stephen from the womb, serious.

We used to play. He'd kick and I would poke back. Then I'd poke someplace else and wait for him to poke back. it was great game, but what I knew by research was I was causing brain development. And it was fun.

Back to Nick, there is so much to teach... So, when you look at your kids, hold them tight for a moment and think about Nick living in the woods.-------------- so many elders... I don't get that.

Thanks, Mommy. Jackson has a sweet face. I just want to hug him. And Princess is a beauty with such grace.

Ms. Sas, bless your heart for helping Nick. I am glad he has you and Donnie. That's funny.....I did the same thing too when the girls kicked me. I also played classical music for them Nerdy I think it works because they are both are sharper than me. Ha!

I went on a Mt Judah hike (6 miles) yesterday and I am sore today. Lots of rocks on the first 1/4 of the trail. We hiked over some of the same area as the Donner party did. If they were alive today, they would think we are nuts for doing it for leisure. It is not uncommon to run into backpackers on the Pacific Crest Trail. I read that it takes about six months to complete the PCT. The hikers normally start in April at the Mexico border and end in September at the Canada border. Here is a picture of a thru-hiker traveling by herself.

    image

She started at The Mexico-US border and is heading north to Canada. I admire her perseverance and determination. I wonder what the scene is like south and north of us. There were a lot of wild flowers along the trail.

The lady in the middle is 73. She migrated here from Austria without her family when she was 19. She is quite healthy. Most of the time I am behind her trying to keep up. I teased her she made us all look bad for not huffing and puffing up the trail like the rest of us.

Princess was not so graceful this morning. She went to jump up on the freezer to get some treats and she misjudged it and face planted into the side of the freezer. After landing safely, she shook her head and then tilted it and looked at me as if to say " Mommy, why did you do that?" I just picked her up and kissed her head and called her a silly girl before giving her treats. She got extra hugs and kisses from her Daddy when I told him about her mishap. Jackson came over and nudged his little sister as if he was just checking to see if she was okay.

The PCT goes through our mountain town. I was on it several years ago but you've inspired me to take another walk, Loveroflife! I have a friend who is currently hiking the Appalachian Trail; she did half last year, doing the northern half now. She is celebrating her 60th birthday and her 40 years as a BC survivor. She was so young, the doctors didn't want to order the available tests. Her then-husband most likely saved her life by insisting.

Loverly - Your hike looks like it was a lot of fun. Pictures are beautiful too. 6 miles that's a long way, especially with the altitude you were at. Thanks for sharing.

M0mmyof2 - Jackson is such a cute little guy and Princess is pretty girl too.

Sas - How come you haven't shared any pics of your pups? Nick is very fortunate to have you and Donny to guide & help him. I can't imagine how any parent could just desert their child in the woods either.

Wenchi - Where are you? Haven't seen any posts from you recently. I hope you're doing okay.

Hello to everyone else. I hope those of you who are in the hotter climates don't melt. We are having a hot spell here in my area this week. Supposed to hit 90 degrees today. YUCK!!!!

Also, I just read this article on raw hide chews that have been recalled. So wanted to share it with all of you who may give them to your pups.

Awww happy looking mama and fur baby.

Mommy, I can't get mad ay Mitzy for long. She always give me the pathetic sad look which cause me to feel guilty for getting mad at her.

Tapper, I kept on thinking about what you said about your friend. 40 years is an amazing number. May she have many more years of quality life.

She's a real inspiration, Loveroflife. I can't wait to talk with her about this leg of her hike. She's in Connecticut right now, on her way to Maine. She hikes alone; just packs dry food. Her daughter just joined her for a couple of days. She posts a lot of photos on Facebook and sends out emails with updates. She doesn't like staying in the shelters but prefers setting up her own tent.

And you're an inspiration, doing that six-mile hike. Your photos are stunning! What elevation were you at?

My DH said we'll go out on our section of the PCT in the fall - too many rattlesnakes right now!

Even if my "kids" drive me bats, I never can stay mad at them either for no more than the time it takes me to scold them when they have been naughty.

JunieB, thank you for asking. Its been a very busy week but I'm here lurking and loving everyone's pictures!

My DS and his family were here for a week and we kept busy the whole time. They've heard me talk about chemobrain but have never seen it.. until their visit. We stopped to get drinks at a gas station, I was standing in line waiting to pay. My DS asked me if I was going to order food? I said nope, then he pointed and said the cash register is over there. I was waiting in the wrong line! He and I started cracking up! The poor girl at the register looked so confused. Jon said my "Mom's chemobrain is alive and well" a phrase I use a lot and now he understands it 💯%! I also made a cup of coffee with my kuriig coffee maker and forgot to put a cup under it. Coffee all over the floor and another round of unstoppable laughter!

We went to a Sculpture Trail in a nearby town, Boy it was a monster of a trail up and down hills etc! We were wiped out and didn't even make it half way through. The next time I'll rent a golf cart!

Nicole and Kourtney my beautiful granddaughters!

    image

Nicole is 14 and starts college this fall! I'm so proud of both of my brainy DGDs.

My DDIL trying to avoid having her picture taken. Silly girl! Love her to pieces!

    image

This is my baby boy! I'm so proud of the man, husband and father he has become!

I'll add a few more later this evening.

Looks like you have been having a wonderful week with some of your very favourite people. Doesn't get much better than that.Nerdy

You reminded me of an experience I once had with an automatic drinks machine. The machine was supposed to swing a cup into place and then the drink would pour. Up came the arm that was supposed to be holding the cup. You guessed it...no cup! I had to watch my lovely cold drink pour past me (at rapid speed) into the waste tray!! I was NOT happy. But I have remembered it, and laughed about it every time I remember, for around 30 years now!!

Loverly send the ambulance, I'm still on the mountain. Lordy girl bless you and the girls that are so hardy. Beautiful mountain.

So what do you think of Moonbeam signing the Paris accord. 1.He's breached the Constitution. Which I'm sure he doesn't give a hoot about. But what about all that money you are going to have to send to the UN. 500 billion. That's what they wanted from the USA as a first payment. Can't believe Nigeria and Syria weren't signed up for all the free money the UN was passing out to everyone on our dime. 2. Now he wants to give illegals the right to vote, a right reserved for citizens. George, Tom, Ben,John, and Jim would be rolling in their graves. 3. Didn't he sign an infrastructure bill that would add more gas tax? 72 cents? 4. And he signed paper work to start the petition for seceding from the Republic, that lead to civil war the last time? Sanctuary State?

He lives in an alternate universe. He must be smoking too much weed. He's got you so broke. Have you thought about Texas! Lot's of folks and businesses moving to Texas. Just busting your chomps. Old phrase, old irritating phrase.

On a happier memory thought, wasn't that fun playing pokey with the girls. And it does help neural synapses develop. I still miss it. I tried music too, but could have done better. I did swim lot's. With each stroke I would think talk to him, I suppose like yoga. I took suck good care of myself then.... no smoking or drinking. Ate really well. Krips imagine if I kept that up life long. Seriously though, I adored being Prego.

Jun.ie, no camera and when I had a camera I didn't think of it. Nice pictures of you and Kirby. Kirby reminds me of a certain type of cat I saw for the first time the other day. A Ragdoll?

    tappertoohowdydooty

wench, YAY a kid visit. Did you hear about the time Steve came in and I had a tinfoil hat on? Oh My God They Found A Cure for Stupid thread? it was a game. He said in a very low voice "Mom Is there something I need to worry about." laugh and laugh..... Everything that goes kafluey for the rest of your life can be blamed on chemo brain....... more pictures

Waving missing lot's, but off to check housekeeping threads.

Tapper, good for your friend. What a brave woman! Being alone and surrounded by nature can be good for the soul, but don't think I can hike/camp by myself in the woods though. Too scare of the boogeyman. Ha! Rattlesnakes?? Yikes! I would wait until it cools down to hike too.

Ms. Sas, why do you ask such difficult questions? Why can't you ask yes or no ones instead? We do have the responsibility to take care of our environment for the future generations, but how do you determine if the money we put in will be used wisely by others? Regarding illegal immigrants, it's a tough issue and a big mess. Do I blame the people who left their countries to escape persecution or violence? No. Would I do the same to find better lives for my family? Yes. Do I think illegals have the rights to vote? Definitely not. Not that difficult. Not sure what happened to common sense. There, I turned your questions into yes or no questions. Ha! We are very fortunate U.S. granted our family asylum. Citizenship a privilege I don't take for granted.

Lori, Nicole and Kourtney have cute smiles. Which GD is 14? Only 14 and she is going to college? Wow! I don't have chemobrain, but I do have a scattered brain. Can't multi task. You are familiar with Siri (Iphone voice command assistant) yeah? The other day I was driving and I wanted to chat with my friend Sherry. I usually text her first to check if it's a good time for her. Because I was driving I had to have Siri help me with the texting. After several trials to get Siri's attention I was wondering why my IPhone was not responding to my voice. It turns out I was saying "Hey Sherry" instead of " Hey Siri" Loopy
