    HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHEVY

Smaarty - Yes, Kirby has gotten lighter. A Cairn Terriers coat color changes their entire life. All of the black that was on Kirby's muzzle & ear tips is now charcoal gray, plus the black tips on his back are also gone. He also had his first haircut a few weeks ago too which has made him appear even lighter.

We here in the NW we are experiencing a massive heat wave this week. 97 today, 102 tomorrow, 110 Wednesday, etc. Sunday is supposed to be still in the 90's, but if we survive this week, next week is supposed to be back down in the 80's. Much more tolerable. Weather like this is quite unusual for us and at least 50% of the population here does NOT have A/C. This is very distressing/dangerous for the elderly and the homeless in our area. Although Kirby will be a very unhappy pup, he isn't going with me this week either if I have to go anywhere. Don't want him to have heat stroke.

A couple weeks ago I posted that my latest CT showed a new spot on my left 5th rib. After nearly 2 weeks of phone calls by Palliative Care and myself, plus me calling the patient advocate and finally calling my MO to have her order a re-read, the tentative results are that they feel that it is a healing fracture and NOT a new met. Whew! Still waiting for last portion of results where they compare my last bone scan to this CT, just to verify. Man oh man!, was starting to feel like I'd need an act of Congress to get this done. However, at this point with the disarray our governmental houses are in, even that wouldn't have helped me.

So Miss Sassy, How was your Birthday? Did you enjoy your dinner?

Well that's all for now, I have paperwork I need to get to so I can submit it tomorrow, so good day for now ladies.

Junieb, I think people in the business of taking care of patients should go through a "simulation" or maybe "how to be compassionate course. So sorry for your additional stress.

We are having heat wave here too. Feline, aren't you glad to live in Ireland??

Loverly, I worked at a HMO that gave classes on treating elderly patients. The leader put popcorn kernels in their shoes, cotton in their ears, and made them wear smeary glasses. I imagine it encouraged them to be a little more understanding.

Afternoon Owlies. thank you to the newer b'day greetings since my last post,

Lookie and the Paint Guy. He was so good and soothing. Loved him. Everyone was so sad at hiss passing.

TEKA thank you and so hay no one got into the skunks. Phew..

Smarty, Thank you ;) timing was off here too, last few days would not of worked for me either. I'll catch you next time? The humidity is worse than usual. If your group considers another Florida trip suggest March, April, or first two weeks of May. They are more dependable for heat, rain, hurricane, humidity. April is the most beautiful by far.

Yogagirl Thank you, and thanks for all the info. I can't cut andante right now. Mouse needs a battery. It's always something.

Sensei Thank you appreciated. How's Chance?

thanks mommy, it's almost a joke...If I descried all that has gone wrong.it's a zoo

Btw do you know about ctrl z., if a post dosaears------pr --or--as I wrote disappears, try ctrll z ad it may reappear.

trying to write on the screen is a nightmare, because you have to be right on t pf the key

Shep suggested trying other keyboards. I did. Got to a board that was fine for a few minutes. I could write on it and it turned into letters. BUT IT WOULDN"T LET ME LEAVE. Finally, figured out how.

Greg and I used to say that for every planned purchase, trip, or project have at least the same or double amount in the bank for all that will go wrong. Hmmmm this is coming up in spades.

    Lover, yes very glad.

Sas - are your keyboard problems on a PC or an ipad? I recently had to ditch a keyboard because my CTRL and Shift keys stopped working. It was after a Windows 10 update, the drivers for this keyboard were no longer being updated so I could not download an updated driver. Solution was new keyboard, not expensive but such ridiculous waste. (Thankfully we have a local recycling facility that will take the keyboard so it wont go to landfill.)

Love you all so very much!

    Have a great day!

Bben busy with having tests and scans done last week. Port got implanted again this past Monday to prep for more chemo since they found the recurrence in the axillary node. Not been doing much since then.

M0mmy - So sorry to hear that you've had a recurrence. :0( Any idea as to how long you'll have to do the treatments?

  • m0mmyof3
    m0mmyof3 Member Posts: 9,758

No idea yet. Might be doing 12 weeks or less of the chemo. Might be paired with Herceptin and Perjeta and might have to do Radiation and this time. Won't really know until I start treatment and they see how it responds. Supposed to start treatment this month

Oh Mommy, I am saddened to hear that you have a recurrence. Hope they get all the buggers with minimal side effects. I hate the fact that cancer is a chronic disease. Hugs to you.

Lori, good for you for decluttering. It seems like the longer we live in a house, the more we accumulate. We really don't need a lot of things in the house to survive, but why oh why does our mind deceive us into thinking otherwise?

Ms. Sas, time for a new keyboard? How frustrating!

Ms. S, my niece is 7 months. How time flies! Evie trying to tallk or is she already talking? Here are photos of Mia on the hike with her parents:

M0mmy, best wishes with your treatment and sincerely hoping this is a localised recurrence.

Me too. So far they are pretty sure it might be a localized recurrence. There was a cyst that showed up on one of my ovaries that the MO is worried about, but they have seen the cysts show up before on previous CT Scans and they have gone away.

Replacements has a price of 56$ per piece. Hahahaha. Can be used as a martini glass.
