Jazzy - too funny. Like that bumper sticker.. my other car is a broom! Haha
Mags - very pretty dishes! Sassy- I didn't realize you thrift until you collect the set then give them away - now I understand! Cool hobby.
Ibgal- Congrats on the treatment working. You are light years ahead of me! I quit.
Today I went to Portland to get results of a bone scan /nuclear med test and get more information on the bone mets issue. They compared it to a PET scan a year old Jan 2014 and not the MAYO PET Jan 2015 scan which was sent to them - both report and images. They said the femurs are fine. All the areas they found were not the areas MAYO's found ( one month difference in timing) except for sternum, few ribs and few vertebra. They did say my skull lit up which means it's on the move and matches issues I have had brain wise. So we had a lovely friendly chat about the "arthritis" in my knees, exchanged exercises and I left. I knew it was pointless. This just absolutely confirms it. So I will ask this Wednesday for DWD drugs and my exit from Cancerland! Enough of this nonsense.
One thing that I have experienced and find really weird about my episodes of the cancer eating out the bones is that the pain is achy and low, then builds to really obnoxious, then subsides. This happened in 2012, 2014 and 2015. I will have pain in an area and it will build and then subside. I thought cancer pain builds and continues. It seems in my case it's like the cancer eats out the nerve endings and shuts the pain off. Then it moves on to fresh territory making that hurt and or I get severely anemic because it ate all the bone marrow. Any way I look at this cancer wins. I am tired of this and want peace, which I won't find in cancerland. This is just one big mind.."F...k"!
Have a nice night. My new PCP is nice, thinks outside the box. She gave me a sleeper to try yay! Too bad I will only be her patient for a short while. She runs a one person office, no staff, so she can spend more time with patients. She didn't like big box medicine - neither did I. Stay warm ya'll.

Rose- I am sorry about the results and all the rest. You do what is right for you. We will be here with you.
Hugs sister.

I think there's more to Chinese maker marks that seemed obvious at first. The fun side on this link I clicked on each maker at the top. they give an example of each maker. Didn't count but I saw allot of my Mom's teacups.
Japanese maker mark info
http://www.ehow.com/how_6590688_identify-japanese-pottery-porcelain-marks.html
" "Occupied Japan" and "Made in Occupied Japan" pinpoints the fact that these items were made in the years from 1945 to 1952 after World War II."
http://gotheborg.com/marks/noritake.shtml
"Noritake" appears on back stamps of other pieces, with either "Japan" or "Made in Japan" present on most of these. For a period following World War II from 1945 to 1948 Noritake China was sold under the label "Rose China". In 1953 the letter "N" for "Noritake" in a wreath replaced the long used "M" in a wreath. From 1945 until early 1952, occupation of Japan by the Allied Occupation Forces had been in place and many backstamps for this period say "Made in Occupied Japan. According to collectors, the number of known different Noritake marks are today more then 400. (emphasis mine)
///////////////////////////
Mags, I finally figured out the question " What companies exported china from Japan from 1945-1953?". based on the above excerpts. And no answer by Google to my question. today is a dead end. Google has it's gremlins working. If the same question is asked two weeks from now, they're will most likely be an answer.
HT surrounded by a wreath kept coming back to Noritake. the bold statement above is from Gothenburg.com, I highlighted it. The key is to get a list as to who was exporting. A law was passed in 1921 that mandated exports had to have the makers mark written in English. Plus, the "made in occupied Japan" or "occupied Japan"- gives the definite period. Add that to the statement within the Gothenburg which is (paraphrase) "for a time after the war Noritake didn't want to put their name on the china they were producing because it wasn't up to the quality they had a reputation for". but nothing explains the H over T
Till tonight I thought Nippon meant it was pre-war. Have to re-look to verify, butt thought at one point Nippon couldn't be used after 1921. Which puts my Mom's little dish at pre 1921.
replacements.com did have several patterns that are listed. keywords "Rose and occupied Japan", but they weren't a match.
Were you impressed with the price that seller put on your crystal? Forget where I was just recently and I saw some of your glasses. cheap. I thought Mags. wouldn't be happy.
Many a time when I reach a dead end, I just accept it and move on. It's amazing how often I find a piece when I'm looking for something else. Thanks I learned allot.
Did you know tea parties with all the old stuff and frilliness is kind of a movement?

Rosie, Why was Mayo different. Is Mayo a NCCN center. What about that ENvita --whatever thing in Pheonix? Sorry.

MAYO- yes. Who knows why it was different. I don't live in Florida, we have a kid in college and I don't want to spend the $ on a wild goose chase. I just want peace. Monday's scan showed much more uptake in the sternum which didn't hurt before and now hurts more (seat belt was even bugging me today). That will stop because it did Nov 2013. The cancer seems to munch and then leaves. The uptake MAYO got in lower limbs and the shaft of the femurs moved to the femur heads and sockets and pelvic rim. I asked to see the scan of the skull mets because all the issues I have had have been around my forehead - sure enough, the uptake was exactly there. It's so weird I can map it out as it marches around. If it's there in the skull, it's inside too. I have had flashes of numbness and odd sensations that last just a few sec then vanish. I am not doing the brain thing here. The radiation I had in 2007 wiped me out, my trust in that vanished with it. I refuse to go that route.
Holinone- man if I could write myself outta this script in Cancerland I WOULD! Poof begone... let a better story begin.
We have our Siamese mix Emmy locked in the bathroom.. she is crying and howling. She is a beastly huge cat 13 pounds of attitude. I locked her in the garage last night. She beats up the other two cats ages 14 and 12. Our old man Percy is very thin with hyperthyroid and some arthritis and just wants peace. Zoe is absolutely toothless terrible tooth decay, very tiny and had all her teeth pulled. She also has a bum shoulder and limps. Emmy picks on these two mercilessly! I feel like a cat referee.. hate it. I am going to see if she calms down or if she needs a session of unheated garage therapy! grrrr. Wish me luck...

JWOOOOOHOOOoo. fabulous it's breathtaking. I was trying a backdoor way of finding Mags. pattern. Came across that one. It stopped me in my tracks. Check RC.com. They only have three pieces listed. He has More?

rose, you might want to check with the vet and give Emmy anti depressions. Might help her not be aggressive. And sorry to hear about all the bone problems. Are you going Blondies route and stop taking everything?
I didn't see where Blondie got her cast off. Did she?

Rosie, I haven' got bone mets nor have I studied it. Ergo, uniformed. HOPE Susan pops in. Do they have a grading system for it similar to BC. Grade, ploidy. I understand those. What I get from your writing is it's advancing quickly. Are some MBC bone mets more aggressive as are some BC's? Not suggesting Florida. But your cancer center should be affiliated with a NCCN center. But since I'm collecting serious either cancers or other stuff that is like 1:1000 and far greater than that to have a couple of them at the same time. I am firmly in the camp of going to the NCCN with what you need to be worked on. For me that worked out to be Moffitt times two. Thyroid and brain. But if I didn't get the bottom under control, I may have had to go to Gainesville. Luckily, nursing knowledge has got that under control.BBL battery lo

Smarty- how's the quilt show going? Any neat artistic quilts? I have a wonderful book of "art" quilts that made it into museums as cloth/ multi media art. The quilts are fantastic and stunning. Nothing short of amazing. If you are allowed to share any images on here - I would love to see them! Bet others would too! Could you share some pictures?
I may have to talk to the vet. Emmy will smack the other cats on the head, corner them and tackle, makes Zoe just hiss and cry. Emmy's a bully. She also hogs the food bowls so I have to put food all over the house so the other 2 cats have a chance to get some. crazy. Never try to add another cat to two who have bonded and love each other. Leave well enough alone.
Foots just sent me the sweetest prayer. Thank you for your kindness and well wishes. I send prayers on your behalf too! I hope you are breathing better and your dog Faith is well and by your side. I have no fear since I will go to a place with no cancer!

Sassy, I knew that about Noritake as I have one piece that was Mom's from our time in Japan (55-57), it's a large platter marked Rose China - though the pattern is clearly a Noritake style. It hadn't occurred to me that the rose china could also be Noritake. In any case, I just love it.
I'm not too concerned with the prices on the stemware, as it will not be sold. I'll pass it on to the only family member who has a use for it, room for it, and will care for it, my brother's daughter. I honestly thought I had a full set, I was surprised to see there was a piece I didn't have!
So so tired, finished #28 today, start boosts tomorrow, there will be eight of them.

Rosie, your question from awhile ago about why the difference in care-------b/c the people/docs are human and they make choices that they think are the best based on present knowledge. Now I know Mayo at Jacksonville is NCCN. Your research must have driven you there for a reason. My research when the brain tumor was growing drove me to Moffitt. I could have chosen others, but Moffitt fit at the time.
What I found interesting and awful is, I had to find my own treatment even though my cancer center was affliated with Moffitt. No one involved with my care had ever heard of 'base of the brain surgery' and the connection between meningioma's and BC. There's lots more to that , but not germain to this conversation.
The crunching of your bones is continuing. Did your research tell you outside of Mayo anywhere else that had something unique.

Just checking in. You are all so chatty, can't keep up. Almost had new roll call ready to post, now pages behind. Love looking at all the glass. Maybe sometime I'll have time to take pictures of what's in my cupboard.
Rosie, praying for a miracle. You have an amazing attitude!
LBgal, DD ran the LB 1/2 marathon, her first, not too long ago.
Patty, would live to have the magic potion to make you well enough to get out of the hospital and stay at home,
I think Foots is our resident angel
Thanks for the smiles and laughs!

OH YES FOOTS IS OUR RESIDENT ANGEL----may every prayer that she has sent to others return to her ten fold.0 -
sassy, about Foots

Tried not to say it, but gonna. When I learned about Base of the Brain sx, it was too late for Apple. I'm still pissed.

Mags, so happy you have decided whom you want to pass the crystal too. I'm the keeper of family stuff.....DS is still in the phase he doesn't get it. My contact with DGF........I'm thinking she gets it, but it's a bit early to tell. Gave some beautiful linens tablecolth and twelve napkins to my dearest cousins DIL last night. My Dearest cousin(of 63firstcousins) says " I'm really happy you gave them to DIL, but I'm surprised you didn't offer them to me". Now sounds horrible. But Dearest cousin has the most beautiful intonation of words that something like that was not offensive. I sooooooooooooowish I had her way------life would have been much easier0 -
Rose,
I'm praying for you.
Took the bandages off that were on the incisions per PS's orders from Tues. Still have the steri-strips on them. The "girls" are itching up a storm, but I'm ignoring it. No sign of any drainage so far!

Rosie..... that's it..... You are falling apart. I don't know how you DO it.....! You have the best attitude, and are so compassionate to others.... and all this time, you have issues of your own.... I am so glad you keep searching! If you hear bad news, you don't take that as possible.... You search for "better" news... and you keep on ticking.
I just found this from somewhere.... for you gals that need to "get-away."

We got about a foot of snow yesterday/last night.... but that isn't enough, so we are getting more today! YAY! And it THAT doesn't chap your hide, we are in for another WEEK of snow! I just can't get enough! And where IS Foots?
And DD had to go home in this blizzard from work, and not come by here for her BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!! And box didn't get there from Orlando! DAMN! So her job takes precedence over fun and games..... if she can GET there this morning!
DD is so miffed at the postal service for not getting her BOX to her on MONDAY.... ! Then snow-storm came, and it was delivered yesterday, but she had to BE there to SIGN for it, which of course she wasn't. So my Daughter sat alone, crying and freezing, because no-body could get to her.... all night.... sniff...

Just kidding.... but she was SUPPOSED to come over HERE for dinner.... but weather just too bad..... It's just one of those things....
Is there ever a day, or a time, when you quit worrying about your kids? Like driving home in a blizzard? Or just plain DRIVING somewhere? You would think she was 12! But she does the same with us too.... She tells US.... "Don't go out today! And if you DO, be careful!" Yeah, like THAT'S gonna happen...
I'll just be sooooooo glad when Spring gets here!

Hi ladies- yes, Blondie did say either here or another thread she got her cast off Tuesday. That's all she wrote!
MammaRay- enjoy your time away to take a break from it all and get some rest. Sometimes that is just what we need to do when life gets to be a bit too much.
Mags- down to the boosts, and good to hear. Sending you love and energy to get through the rest.
Rose- Foots is a woman of great faith and cares deeply about us all, that much I have learned. How nice about the prayer she sent you.
Waking up and coffee about ready to pour!

This morning.... Out back

Chevy- your snow filled yard is beginning to resemble those up my way!
0 -
Chevy- supposed to get some snow down here too, but it sounds like it is all north of us. Winter ain't done with anybody yet. I heard the south got an unexpected foot of snow last night too!
