hi sj29 and welcome. I've been on tamox since July 2010 so two years now and so far so good. I'm in the southwest part of the state and it's beautiful here too. The sky's blue, it's warm, and no clouds yet.
Lisa, I thought of you today as I walked underneath that big willow tree on my route and looked up into that blue sky. Are you doing the GRACE walk again this year?
Take care, ladies, hope everyone is well.

Hi sj29,
I'm in Whitefish Bay, so we are basically neighbors! Until you move, of course. Congrats on buying the new house. I'm in a holding pattern before my final reconstruction. Welcome to the Wisconsin thread!

Moonflower 912, I am near Tomah. Moved here from Madison many years ago. It is still my favorite city. Have a DD in 'Waukesha. Both DD's are RN's and I am a retired RN. 5 "kids" , 12 grandkids. LMX last June, for DCIS, wishing I"d done both--as I don't likethe feeling of waiting for the other shoe to drop. Probably will go for prophylactic MX before winter. Thanks for responding.

Hi all, we really should get together, it would have to be right before big chemo tx, though. My son works for UW at the sleep lab. I am a HUC at Columbia St Mary in Milwaukee. 3of my four kids went to UW. Gramma, I had a BMX done even though they said so didnt need it. That's where the IDC was found, so it worked for me.

All this weather talk makes me jealous. Of course the nice weekend we have I work . Moonflwr912: My husband and in-laws are from Port and they still live there. We recently got married in October at St. Mary's there!

Hi ladies, and thanks for getting this thread going. I tried, but with chemo brain just couldnt figure it out. I was real strong through surgery and all my treatment but this past month has been a real stinker. Thank you to BCO I have been able to work through many of my fears. Have a great support system of family, friends and coworkers. But every now and then a little panic sneaks in and I have to remind myself that I HAVE WAY WAY TO MUCH TO LIVE FOR.
I worked through all my treatments (school/special education aide) and what I could continue to do on our dairy farm. This past week I did take off some work because 4 members of my family were being treated for pneumonia and it just wore me out.
I live 5 miles south of Muscoda. Bluewillowskys..I think that we may have been in the same "feel better, look good" class at the Richland Hosp.
Hope everyone has a good week.

Hey Cindi !!! I had wondered all this time how you were doing...i couldnt remember your last name so wasnt sure how to look you up. Sure sounds like you have had your hands full....i hope you take plenty of ME time for yourself .
My mom was recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer and is getting more tests to see if its in her breast too....her brother was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer two weeks ago too.... apparently the thyroid cancer is very hereditary in my maternal family...so i will be getting checked for that too.
Feel free to email me anytime

bluewillowskys,
Hope things work out for you with your additional tests.

Hi Blue Willowskys, how are your Mom and your uncle doing? My DH had lung resection last Dec. for ca (rt. lower lobe removed) and is doing well in that regard though does have other health issues. Hope you and family get everything sorted out to your satisfactiopn. It's alot going on all at once . Best wishes. Hi to everyone else--this thread has been kind of quiet--guess we're all busy with that early spring. I have been painting bedrooms and bathrooms and anything else that gets in the way of the paintbrush.. Hope to get a garden in soon.

Hey Gramamuses, If you run out of rooms to paint, I have several at my house that could use a fresh coat!0

Hey Badger! It wad nice today, even though I was tired and spent time inside instead.

Hey Moonflwr! It was nice until the humidity descended, then it wasn't so nice outside.
But I can't stand the heat anymore. Temps over 75 wilt me. And trigger hot flashes.
Rest is good too, though, you need it to rebuild your strength. I'm big on naps myself.

Zogo--on my way with my leftover paint and brush, etc.--oops--don't know where to find you. Actually I still have more painting to do here--once one gets started, everything seems to need a fresh look. The hardest part is choosing colors, One more bedroom, and then the kitchen. Going to get my DIL,s advice for that--she paints and does all that decorative stuff. Badger, I love Madison, 4 of our 5 kids were born there--we lived there for 10 years near La Follette HS. Sleep well everyone, may your dreams be sweet.

Hey Ladies,
Good to hear from everyone! I also would like to do a little painting. My upstairs needs it badly. We painted the exterior of our home and downstairs last year after my surgery. We were getting ready for graduation.
It was also in the plans that I remodel the old farm house where my IL live. Nothing has been done to the house for 20-30 years as far as the interior. The house is over 150 years old but strong with tons of history. When I first was dx I thought I better get busy on that project. Then last month things really hit me and I realized what was going on and I thought "why bother"
I am proud to say that I am currently and have been for 3 weeks been in the "kick butt" mode. I will live out my dream and live in the big, old farmhouse and grow old with my hubby. Get out of the way..........she is back.
Hope everyone has a GREAT day. Hold onto your hats/wigs (no pun intended) could get stormy today.
Badger, I was just to Madison on Tuesday for a 1st and 2nd grade field trip. We went to the Children's Mus. the capitol lawn for lunch and then to the geology mus. Then I came home and mowed lawn for 3 1/2 hours. Boy did I sleep well that night.
If you dont mind sharing, I was wondering where, who, what you did for treatments.
Cindi

hey Cindi, I probably walked right past your lunch bunch on the capitol lawn Tuesday!
I was the middle-aged woman wearing the purple survivor shirt from last year's Relay for Life.
For treatments, I'll send the info about surgery and chemo via PM as I'm reluctant to publish info that could pinpoint where I live. Later, ladies!

hi wiskris, welcome! I got cancer for Christmas so know how much it sucks to get cancer for your birthday. Good luck with rads.
Moonflwr it's overcast here but the gorgeous fresh strawberries I had on my steel-cut oats sure brightened my day.
Anyone else rooting for Donald Driver on Dancing with the Stars?

Donald, is so good, and so underscored!

This is my first time watching DWTS and it's because of Donald Driver.
Loved him in the red & gold tails last week. He's easily in the top four.

Hello, Wiskris, happy to make a new friend. Hope you have smooth sailing through the rads--if that is possible. Badger, we are rooting for Don Driver ,too. He is my 10 yo. GS's favorite guy. Cindi, let us know how the farm house renovation goes. Hello to everyone else. Love hearing from you all.
