Kerry, lots of people here in the Madison area. We got together a couple times. I think we were going to try for a November meet. Still up in the sir.

Moonflwr912- thanks for letting me know. I haven't met people around the area with my BRCA diagnosis, let alone around my age (which is 32). Is there anyone on this forum that has had the BRCA 2 mutation?

Kerry - Hello! Yes, I have all of my treatments at the UW Madison. My surgeons are in Milwaukee. We are looking at some options. I told them I don't want ANY more fills - ever. Looks like spring for reconstruction and hoping I have enough tissue to use my own. I could never leave my doctor...he's just the bomb. He's taken such good care of me...and he understands. Found out that the last fill caused a ginormous bruise....it was more painful than anything I have gone through so far - should have been hospitalized and been on morphine.
Janesville area?? Hmmmm....I'm around the Janesville area too!
This weekend isn't looking too good for me to be meeting up....I don't drive too well yet with the pain meds and all. I'm going to be trying some new sleeping med too....

hi ladies and welcome KerryA. I'm in the southwest part of the state but work in Madison so can meet for lunch from time to time.
Monica, amazing pic of waves at Port W.
Fuzzy, sorry you still have to take the pain meds, I hoped it would've eased some.
We were thinking of maybe meeting up this weekend. Anyone still interested?
And last but not least, TG the election is a week away and the ads will STOP!

Badger.....<3 thank you for the PM...you are the bomb.
The pain is getting better but...man oh man....I'm ready to just snip that sucker off myself! LOL Ew, gross...no, couldn't actually do that....
If this weekend doesn't pan out for everyone...could we reschedule?

When and where were you ladies planning on meeting?
In the past 4-5 months there have been 4 women that I know in our area that have been dx. with bc. It makes me so sad to hear that!! When does the maddness stop.?
Hope everyone was able to enjoy a bit of this nice weather. Just heard we might have snow and then rain. YUCK Im much happier when we go right into large amounts of snowfall STARTING about the 2nd week of December and done by the end of January.
Hugs to all

Hi from ILL! I've met a couple of you in person and Kerry on the NOLA thread, waves. Fuzz- Dr Massey has a seminar about reconstruction on November 17th downtown Chicago, lunch included. Husband and I will be there. Let me know if you want the info. So, I don't need to drive up north on Friday, huh? Later Wisconsinites!
Maddness it is.

hi Adey!
Fuzzy, glad to help any way that I can. Hang in there!
Cindi, we were talking about meeting up for Sunday brunch between Madison & Milwaukee but I'm not sure who's still up for it. You know, we live maybe an hour apart. We could meet in the middle sometime! I don't say my hometown out on the boards but you know where I'm at. If you want to talk specific locations, let's do it via PM.
Everyone else doing OK? ((hugs)) to all

Badger- sounds good to me. I am busy the next couple of weeks but I will PM you with some dates and maybe when Im out doing Christmas shopping we can have lunch along the way.
sounds like they took the snow and rain out of the forcast. think it will be a perfect weekend for a bonfire and roasting of marshmallows.
Enjoy the weekend

Great picture.... It really shows the power of nature.

well ladies, I wimped out. Took tomorrow off work rather than face the traffic downtown Madison. The Pres and The Boss (Bruce Springsteen) are coming tomorrow morning and there are maybe 3 roads open to downtown. No sense fighting traffic and getting to work late and all stressed out.

BADGER, THAT'S NOT WIMPY, THAT'S SMART! I erased over 30 voicemails and that was just for two days!
Today, my daughter was here for a bit. We watched PWHS production of Oliver. It was good. Then she helped me put away Halloween stuff so o didn't have climb up and down the stairs. Then, she.helped me start to clean my room. It's time for me to move back up stairs. But, things got really, um, hoarderlike! I have been meaning to do that for a couple.of years, but never made the time. Hence the cleaning. Threw out two bags of clothes that were stained, or badly stretched out.(sad part was I wore them last year! LOL). Two bags of clothes I don't like, that were in great shape for donation. And one bag of summer clothes to store. Put all the sweaters in drawers. I am beat, but you can walk in the room, see the floor, and all that's left is dusting and dressing the bed. The cats enjoyed it all this time, hence the need for dusting. I am ready for bed. Much love!0 -
Aurora Doctors - hey is anyone getting the shaft from Aurora Medical Center accounts receivable department? I asked for claims to be investigated - along the lines of why is this doctor charging me for a service that I don't remember receiving. Then, the claim goes nowhere. Then, the bill gets sent to collections and even after you pay the bill, Aurora refuses to remove it. I love their doctors. But, I can't take this money crap anymore. Any suggestions for someone south of Milwaukee?

Pebee, I have had a bill issue a time or too with Aurora. But they usually clear up fast. If you are on good terms with the office staff at you MO or surgeon, ask them about it. Maybe one of them could help or followup for you. Docs hate to hear you are having billing issues, and that can put a bit of pressure on the billing side. Good luck.

Um.....is this snow?

Hi Moonflower - I have talked to the docs - but here is the problem. My surgeon prescribed skilled home nursing care after my surgery - basically a few days of checking in. She supervised their visits. The doctor who supervises my NP - my primary care person jump aboard and claimed to supervise the nurses as well. Unfortunately, while he billed me for this service, there is nothing in my medical notes to indicate that he did anything.
Insurance refused to pay for it - why should they pay for two docs to supervise a nurse visit? Insurance also mentioned that this was close to fraud. I appealed the bill 4 times, includin a note to the NP and the doc with a request to remove the charge. no luck. Then, it went to collections while I was in the middle of an appeal. The collections went to my credit report - I went from 850 to 699. I paid the bill even though they were "investigating". Aurora's billing then neglected to tell the collection agency who is wrecking havoc on my credit report.
I called Aurora today to get it straightened out. They admitted that they have the payment. they don't understand why I am upset. They admited that they did not send the pay off notice to the collection agency. They seem to care less.
I have told my oncologist that I am frustrated with the billing. Unfortunately oncology was a seperate company than Aurora and when they merged, apparently they kept their own billing people. I have never had an issue with the onc bills - it is all of the rest of them, the primary, the labs, the radiologists that the bills are screwed up and the motto of the billing department is "too bad, so sad, not my problem".
I can live with BC, the gift that keeps on giving, but to destroy my credit as well?
If anyone has a name - I would like it. I am getting ready to do my own Aurora St. Lukes commercial - go there and see your credit destroyed.

hi ladies, pretty quiet around here lately.
pebee, that's really frustrating and downright wrong.
Why does health insurance have to be so effing complicated?
I will be having an ooph soon. Cyst on my L ovary must come out and the ovary will go with it, may as well take the R one too while I'm asleep. Will make my onc happy, he's been trying to get me to do this for a while but I resisted. Didn't want to give up that last bit of girl juice, ya know? But it has become necessary. Crap.
Got out for a great walk this morning. Gorgeous day! 39.38 more miles to 3,000!
Hope this finds everyone doing well. ((hugs)) to all

GIRL JUICE!"!!!! HAHAAAAAJAHAAA!!!!! </p>

Aw Badger, sometimes the girl juice gets up to go all by itself! LOL. So you're just giving it a bit of a push! LOL.
PeBee, sorry, hope they straighten it out soon. Fuzz, how are you doing? Me, I just talked to the ortho, funny, he doesnt want to touch me for a while, small things like heart, infections, etc, seem to bother him! LOL does it mean anything he changed my handicap sticker for the car from temporary to PERMANENT ??? Think he's trying to tell me something? LOL0 -
PeBee, why does spell checker keep changing your name to "pervert" ???? Does it know something I don't? LOL
0 -
Gee badger, glad it's nice by you. It's warm up here, 50ish, but wet & foggy.
0 -
Hi Moonflower - you can set the spell checker to fix that... I am sorry Badger that the girl juice is going, where will you get the surgery done?
0 -
thanks, sisters, for the support.
pebee, I will have the surgery here in podunk. We have a great local hospital and we're on the circuit of big-city (Madison-area) docs so have access to highly-qualified itinerant specialists. For example, my onc works Tuesdays in Dodgeville so that's the day I had chemo and have follow-up appts.
It's impossible to meet HIPAA privacy requirements when people recognize your vehicle in the parking lot of the specialty clinic. And you recognize theirs. Gee, I wonder why X is here???
The ob/gyn doc works here Fridays so it'll either be Black Friday or Pearl Harbor Day.
I'll know for sure next week. Either way, it's a date which will live in infamy.

Aw, Badger, you should be thinking shopping rather than surgery! But probably won't be day after Thanksgiving, they don't like to schedule then. Much love either way.

Pbee, just fixed it, too bad, I kinda liked thinking of you on the dark side! LOL

Hey Moon!!! ((((((Huuuuugs))))) how ya doin'? I've got an appt in December....should we have us some Boston Market and entertain the whole place....again? LOL
Badger and Gina....I'll be in Madison for an appt this Friday...could I talk anyone into a lunch or after hours cocktail? Naturally everyone is invited of course! I love seeing you all.0 -
Hi WI girls, I was out of town so am just now catching up...Fuzz - I have a lunch meeting on Friday but am available after work (4 pm or so) if you are sticking around Madison. My husband is leaving Friday afternoon for deer hunting so I'm completely free after work for a drink and/or early dinner. Badg - sorry to hear about the ooph, I sent you a PM. Moon- sounds like you and your daughter accomplished a tremendous amount of sorting, throwing, etc. Must feel good to have that off your list. Took the dog for a walk at 5:30 pm and it was very dark and cold, lots of flurries, too... Take care, Gina

Gina....I'd love that! I'd definitely hand around MadTown to be able to see you again.
Badger...Thank you. Times five hundred billion...That's a lot of thank you's LOL

Gina, glad you are back. And, yes, we accomplished a lot. Why is there always morebto do though? LOL
Badger keep us informed, please.
Saw my cardiologist today, EF is rebounding, yay! Saw snow flurries around, and the temp at BayShore was only 26. I ate at cheesecake factory. All by myself. I didn't eat a cheese cake! Yay! Of course, I took one home LOL! Don't think I will join you in Mad City this time though. Since. Last Monday, I have had, 3 PT apts, cardiologist, ortho, lab, echo, chest xray, bilateral knee xray, phone insurance interview, phone coaching for life style required by life insurance, and will have more labs next Monday, not to mention a bone density scan. Wheeeeee. And this is all AFTER active tx! LOL, are we having fun yet? So I an gonna just hang out at home til after thanksgiving. Unless my motherinlaw gets worse. Right now she is still hanging in there.
I hope if you get together you all have a great time. Fuzz, let me know what day in Dec, we could definetly meet, by then I should be ready to move around again. pebee, just wanted to write your name and not see the other word LOL!
Much love to all0 -
