hi ladies n good morning hope all ok I was trying to keep up with the insomnia tread n it's just hard so many things happening to all the ladies it's so sad, most time I just don't have words.

I am having a hard week as usual but happy it's almost the weekend

I am using a hospital paper to sit on the stairs of the train as I never get a normal seat.

Hope everything is ok here, I started having the hot scenarios at night n once that happens around 3 there goes my sleep away.

My period should be coming now n there is no sign of it lol

O well I have no idea what my body is up to these days.

I still wonder but since there ll be no more scans I am not sure how ll I know.

It's all so weird. On the other hand I am glad I don't want to go to that hospital ever again ;)

    Ok ll past later

    Have a great day all

Enerva- sounds like you have some hormonal stuff going on at night. Are you still on Tamoxifen? I think we did talk about this, but cannot remember?

I finally slept through the night the past night after waking up Mon and Tues night. Might have been the Prolia shot in my system too. The reactions have been minimal though, whew!

There is a lot going on with the ladies on the insomniacs thread. Some newbees, others with new findings, etc. I think that thread is a very fun, uplifting group, but folks there struggling too. As you know I rejoined, but it is a busy place and very hard to keep up with.

I went to do my personal trainer check in yesterday. I was working with her for four months, now we check in once a month to check on my progress as I work to get fitter and loose weight. I lost another inch around my waist and another 1% of body fat. Getting closer to my goal.

I have also been doing some phone interviews around new work. The few things that came up are either too much travel or not enough money. There is something local I got a lead on last week and hoping to hear from the exec director soon. I called to do a follow up yesterday. Meanwhile, I am still working to get my house back in order post reno and doing lots of donations this week to local shelters.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Ugh, well the BS office just called and said they had to cancel my apt for tomorrow as the BS had to go out of town. I said "okay, when can we reschedule?" and she said March 6th. She said as long as there are no new issues, that is fine to wait.

Pisses me off to be expected to wait another month for my follow up, but since my films are okay as of last week and nothing with the blood work from the MO's office so I am going to consider myself good to go and get back to work.

Hi June- thanks for your kind words. Yes, I have been using the rooms more, especially the home office. Still working to declutter since I pulled everything out of those rooms (been a lot of storage going on in there) and getting a lot out of the house to donations, consignment and more. I made some great progress this week, but have more to go.

Glad you got throught the storm okay. It sounds like NY, NJ, CT etc. did not get hit as bad as MA, RI and northern New England. I know people all up and down the coastline and they shared their reports. The pics on tv made the NYC look like a ghost town. I am glad they took it all seriously though, after Hurricane Sandy, they needed to. Glad you got some home time.

What license are you going for?

    architect

I was just reading an article that the mta shut down was unnecessary. I can see both sides...but didn't really know there were a lot of ppl still working during those critical times.

Excellent June! I bet the licensing will help you with your career!

I think they were being very cautious. If the city had gotten dumped like Boston got, they would be praised. No way to know what the storms will do.

Waking up to snow this morning.

Life- good to hear from you. Not quite there yet on the fitness goals, but getting much closer!

I hope you are doing okay and we are here if you need to talk as you are going through things.

Waking up to snow again today, so I may revise my plans for today, and just stay closer to home base. Two days of moisture is a good thing here, and we are having a lot more moisture this winter which is really good for us here in the desert.

Anybody into the Superbowl stuff? The news yesterday said that it is the next biggest day to Thanksgiving for eating! I was amazed to hear that, but my sister who is doing Weight Watchers said they were talking in her meeting last week about "strategies" to get through super bowl without overdoing it. I am not into it, and have not been invited to a party around that day in years (thankfully!) I might go up to the top of the mountain tomorrow and snow shoe with all this fresh snow!

BB- well, I am sorry to hear you have a herniated disk, but am glad to hear the symptoms were not anything with the brain. I hope she can come up with a good plan for care to take care of this problem.

So few and far between to find a doctor we like. I am glad you found someone good to help you through this.

Hi Lily- glad you found us on the singles thread.

We understand the concerns about dating. Many of us don't, some here do, mixed experiences around the whole thing. But we also talk about a lot of other things, just life in general as a single person, navigating the healthcare systems on our own, our work, etc.

This is a nice group of ladies. Hope you like this thread and will stay.

June- I hope brunch out tomorrow is good for you. I love a good Sunday brunch and no doubt you will have some excellent choices for that in the city.

I try to be sure I get out for at least one social thing every weekend, but have not the past few weekends for one reason or another. I do have some social plans the next few weekends though.

BB- I have be hearing and reading recently that it takes 3 weeks to create a new habit. Not sure what it is to break one, but keep up with the meditation.

I finished my new wellness room yesterday and used it this morning for the first time. I am getting back on to my meditation mat to do a morning meditation each day. I plan to do it for three weeks, and then hopefully it will become part of my lifestyle again. It was once upon a time......

It took me months to create enough consistency with my personal trainer to keep up with a new work out routine, way longer than 3 weeks, but I had a lot of physical weakness to overcome too.

So I guess is what I am saying is it takes as long as it takes for us to get over things, and create new things for our wellness. Just keep doing the things you feel are helping you.

Quitting the smoking is so hard, but you have some very tangible things to look forward to including that recon surgery and better health.

You can do it, I believe in you!

OMG, so you know the professional social media web site, Linked In? I just had some guy hit on me there. Asking me if I was married, etc. Good lord!

Linked In is not Match.com, but I guess some people have not figured that out!

June- it might be a fake profile. The guy is supposed to be an engineer, probably closer to my age, and know the way they write as I have worked a lot with them in the past, but he wrote like a 20 year old kid. It was someone I did not know, but sometimes I get invites from companies who are interested in my consulting services. Perhaps a reminder why I should not accept the invites from strangers. I get them all the time on FB from people I don't know, but always ignore them. Well, I am glad it made you smile!

And I agree too many people use Linked IN now like it is FB. With the likes and posts like you might see on the later. I have seen some people in my network commenting on it like "lets keep it professional here folks!"

    How was your brunch?

Everyone doing Superbowl parties, but not me.....

the brunch went pretty well, got a table and enjoyed the food + cocktail + coffee....hahaha

i once accepted a connection on linkden, she's in the army (so it seemed)...and right after i accepted her, she sent me email asking to do business together. i had to google how to disconnect with someone on linkden. lesson learned....never accept someone outside of my industry. i really wanted to write back "how stupid do you think i am??"

June- I learned how to kick people off a long time ago. I prune my Linked In connections all the time. I worked with some really nasty people on one of my bigger projects in the past few years, and just took them off once and for all after the project was done. People who are not professional are not people I want in my network, or connecting with people I know and like. Some of those people came back later trying to reconnect, and I ignored them. You sowed your seeds, folks.

Interesting about the woman who said she was in the Army and tried to hit you up for other stuff. I guess there are a lot of liars out there on Linked In too, just like there are everywhere.

    Glad brunch was good.

hi ladies, well I had a good Saturday but a busy Sunday so I am tires tired lol

We use LinkedIn at work but it's set up kind of private, I see only people from work I don't like when I get invited by strangers even on face book I usually ignore them. Most time my Facebook is deactivated lol

I went north yesterday showed 5 properties to a friend. I loved one house I wish I had the money to buy for myself :( checked my lotto and didn't win so here I am on the delayed train lol on my way to work.

I can't stand this job :( wow its Feb already. I am in change of all releases this month and it scares me.

Anyway bb, I am so glad you are doing meditation to quit smoking that should help you.

    Take care all

    Love you xxxx

Oh almost forgot my ex sent.me a.msg last night saying he will be in town, I only said that's nice. Then ignore him.

I wish I could see him but I know I deserve better so I won't.

Enerva- good to hear you got some more time in showing homes. I bet you see some gorgeous homes. I hope you get another sale soon!

Sorry about the job being so awful. Keep telling yourself it is what you need to do right now, but you are working towards your dream......

And proud of you that you did respond to the ex's test. Saying no to him is saying yes to yourself. You do deserve better.

Everyone have a good start to the week!

BB- I wish I had more platonic male friends too. I have some I know through my music connections, but most are married so it is not like we will hang out or do things together. But I enjoy them just the same. But I think that is where I would like to begin again, creating more male friendships to begin with.

I have never been successful with being friends with men I was involved with. They would just string me along in case it did not work out with the new relationship and they wanted some company for the evening. I went through some hard lessons around that when I was young. I won't do that ever again.

good morning, here I am on the train, yes I agree with jazz I feel the same happened to me I have been used by men they just keep u on case they need you. As per my ex I won't allow myself near him. I am weak and I care for him we were together for 7 years and I got very attached to the idea of him been the one to grow old with. Well is not the case I like to still receive his silly msg lol no I do know what you ladies are saying.

I had very few men friends in the past, I miss the high school years where I had many and they didn't want to sleep with me lol

I had a ruff day at work yesterday n I am trying hard to keep going.

    Have a great day all

I was just going through some of my e-mails on one of my e-mail addresses and swear that 90% of them were advertisements for Valentines Day. Yeesh! Well, soon that will be over and the marketing will focus on Easter products.

I am going to something on that Friday before V-day, which should be fun though. A group I belong to here with other women who work in the technology sector and the group periodically does a meeting around a wine tasting. They are always fun, and allow myself to have a bit of vino (my docs told me 2-3 glasses a week of alcohol max, and I rarely even do that). They have started a monthly wine tasting group now as of January, and the woman hosting it this month is a friend and also recently renovated her home top to bottom, so I am looking forward to that (more than the wine). It is a nice group of women, some single and some married. I will need to be prepared to host one of these at some point, and will be glad to with this group but not until the warmer winter months. I also don't plan to go to them all the time, just once and awhile when it works and I want to.

I have a biz networking meeting this afternoon and am telling myself I need to get back in the work game soon. Part of me feels ready, and another part feels unmotivated. I think that is because all the work that has come my way so far this year has either required too much travel or is too low paying. Trying to find that happy medium for the right work at the right time for the right money, and I will. It is a good time of the year to find new work as companies have new budgets for projects and consultants. So I will get back out there, whether I feel like it or not today!

Hope everyone else is doing okay this week.
