    Hi SpecialK,

She had 3 biopsies last week which included the lung and two breast sites.  They found a couple spots on her breasts which needed to biopsied.  At this point, they are trying to figure the primary source of the lung cancer to move ahead with the treatment.  I don't know much about lung cancer so I may be PMing you if that's okay.

    Thanks so much,

Psalms - I think I would want it all done at once too!  That way I'm only freaking once instead of twice.

You and I live in the same city... are you going to any support groups? Maybe we should hook up for coffee sometime. Of course we will both be busy with recovery for the next several weeks... but maybe after?

Chick - I wonder if I'll puke in the bushes again lol

I'm asking for the same nurse - she got us out of there quickly, and didn't care what I did to the bushes:)

Mom of 3...you will love the difference!

Tatina-so sorry about your friend. It is always so hard, but now that I have gone through it, I feel better equipped to have a conversation when others are diagnosed.

I also like them to do as much as possible at once. I tried to get my kidney lithotripsy included in the lipo, fat grafting and nipple reconstruction. They looked at me like I had three foobs! Lol.

I also agree on hitting the point where you have had enough. For me, it was this last surgery. I hope the fat grafting holds, because the twins look most excellent, and I dont want to do it again.

Counting the biopsies and my kidney lithotripsy, I have been under general anesthesia 8 times in the last 15 months. That is more than enough.

Tatina, my PS wants to overfill by 150 ccs. My silicone implant is a 500cc & the adjustable saline is also currently at 500cc. He does 50 ccs at a time every week.

Fluff... That is a lot of anesthesia! I've only been under 5 times in 14 months. You may win the prize! Anyone else?

DLL: Do you feel the 50ccs? Once I am able to start the process (cue drum roll, I find out today when that will be), I think I only want 25ccs at a time.

DM13, count me in on the meet and greet with Psalms once you both are healed. I'm in LA too!

Tatina, thinking of you and the grief you are dealing with this week.

Renn, I feel the 50ccs as he is filling & then for maybe an hour or so afterwards, but only for these last 2 fills. Before that I really could not feel them. Doesn't hurt, just feels a little tight. Yay--hope you can start your fills soon!

Good luck today, Renn. I hope you can start filling those puppies up:) I had 60cc's/week with lefty, and when righty was put back in we did 60cc's every Mon and Fri and it was fine. Some tightness toward the end when it was almost filled to capacity, but other than that no problems.

ren - I did 25cc's weekly - no problems.  Because of the extensive skin issues I had on the replaced left TE my PS was cautious.  I did not have incision skin problems, I had the whole lower face of the breast, so low and slow was the name of the game.  It took longer but the only fill I was uncomfortable for was the one and only 50cc attempt.

Fluff has me beat on the anesthesia by 1 - I have 7 general anesthesia since dx, but also local for the removal of 3 skin cancers just before chemo.  I will catch her in June when I do lipo/fat grafting.  Just had my appt with PS today regarding that.  He also cleared me for any and all exercise, including bench press and military fly - I was a little surprised by that.

tatina - PM me anytime with questions about your friend.  Is there any possibility that she has BC with mets to the lung?

Fluff beats me, too.  I was under general anesthesia *only* six times in 13 months.

Thx for info Special K,I know its just a matter of finding one that I can tolerate,if all I had was a little joint pain,I could take an aspirin. An aspirin might be good for my heart and other organs as well, researchers think it might help destroy cancer cells. Sorry about all the cancer in your family,my mom had it and all of sisters and her oldest brother. All the siblings except one!

layla - I just started on a daily 81mg aspirin (baby aspirin) for heart health and potential recurrence assistance. Sounds like you have a lot of cancer in your family as well.  For me it is a sadness thing about my family, but not a hereditary risk since I was adopted.

SpecialK: I too added baby aspirin but only a couple of times a week. Here is the American Cancer Society article if anyone is interested: http://www.cancer.org/Cancer/news/News/study-aspirin-can-lower-cancer-risk

PS Best to discuss with your doctor before starting an aspirin regimen. (Don't I sound like a commercial?)

So I saw my PS yesterday and he is pleased with my progress and doesn't want to see me until JULY. That's right. NO fills. Gotta wait 3 more months to let the scar tissue build under my weak area. I asked him when we *could* start fills; he said we may not fill at all. He doesn't want to compromise my skin with fills. I have 350ccs in lefty from my original BMX, and 200ccs in righty that he put in when I got the TE put back on Dec 1. He said he can make up the difference in the OR with different-sized implants. Likely in the 350 range. Smaller than I ever thought.

I was not expecting to hear that. This journey is one loop on the roller coaster after another. I know I should be happy my skin is finally healing, and that it doesn't look like I will need a LAT flap and that I'll eventually get 2 foobs out of this. It's just a lot to process! Now I have 3 months to sit with it.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Fluff, how are you feeling? Psalms, what's the news with your surgery? Are you postponing?

Oh, Renn! How are you feeling about that? What about fat grafting on top of the 350 ccs as a possibility?

Renn- What a shock that had to be yesterday. Here you go in thinking one thing and hear something different. After my TE infection, I lost a significant amount of skin and I will be a lot smaller, too. We were originally looking at 550cc and now we will be around 400 to 420 at most. Not at all what I was planning.

SpecialK - We'll know this week if my friend has mets to the lungs. I was thinking the same thing.

I think I'm one of the few who can't take aspirin.....I'm allergic to it. UGH....

    Nightie night,

    T

Rennasus- still on the fence, it is apart of my personality...I will wait until the last minute on certain issues, I am more toward getting it done and over with, regardless of the date I know that I will have this anxiety

DLL66: I completely forgot to ask him about FG. However, he is debating whether to add alloderm to the top of the implant. I thought that was a great idea but I haven't heard of too many women having that. Anyone ever hear of this? That would help some, I agree! Though I wouldn't mind lipo either, aside from the recovery part. How are all the lipo girls doing?

I guess with all that I've been through with this TE I was still hoping we'd get me to a decent sized implant. But I really need to let go of my perceptions about this process. B/c I continue to be surprised by something else at every turn.

Tatina, how are you feeling about your friend? Is ths triggering emotions for you too?

Next up for surgery is DM13 next week! Psalms please check in girlfriend!

Renn - yes, it has triggered emotions for me.  Actually thinking more of my mother when she had mets.  It was rough......really rough.

FG is a great thing to ask (good thinkin' DLL66).  And no, I have never heard of placing the alloderm on top of the implant. That's a new one to me.

    Hugs,
