Oh Chrissy, Your pictures and commentary are so amazing It has felt like we have all been with you during your entire journey in the US. Are you on your way to New Zealand now? How long will you be there? We loved NZ so much and hope to return there someday. Safe travels, and can't wait for your next "installment"!
Love and Hugs,
Kathy

Yes, I liked al the scenery, but really loved the traffic on the I-5 and weren't you lucky not to have come to a standstill (or at least not for very long!) Also, happy to hear you are still going on some "Wrong Turn Tours." Who knows what you would have missed if you only went from point A to point B? Plus, you saw the ship from Master and Commander... now you and Russell Crowe will have something to talk about.
I know you are making a stop in NZ, but wishing you a Bon Voage for the journey home. So nice to have met you, and I've enjoyed all your stops along the way. Big departure (hug!)

Monday morning I got to sleep in for a bit as Cheryl needed to go into work for a couple of hours but that was just fine with me. When she got back, we headed out once more for more of a look around the area. This time we went to Newport and looked at both piers and on Pier one, I took this cute pic ........
Then it was onto the Balboa Peninsular and a great site for pics of the water!!! So it was off with the shoes and into the sand as we made our way to the edge of the water and some good water shots of breaking waves through the sea mist .......my favorite!
The most amazing thing was that there was a heavy sea mist but I still got some great shots. I had never seen a sea mist before so once again I have been given a gift.
We took a ferry to Balboa Island and then to the Newport Library where we needed to use the little girls room before heading for the Newport Coast Lookout and a great view of the rising sea mist and the edge of the sky. It's hard to describe the amount of beautiful things I have seen and I feel that my words are sometimes inadequate but I guess you all can understand my wonder.
After the lookout, Laguna Beach was on the map and once again an opportunity for many pics even through the mist.
You would not believe it but Tuesday came and so did the mist once more! While Cheryl was at work, I packed my bags and got organized to catch my plane as this was once again my last day. My last day not just in California but my last day in the USA but I made the most of it. When Cheryl return from work, we went down to the Huntington Beach Pier where we had ice cream and walked on the beach, I took more photos regardless of the mist. It actually made for a great effect so I'm looking forward to seeing them enlarged. We had a hot dog for lunch and then went back home to relax for a little while before leaving for the Airport.
So here I sit, waiting for my flight and thinking back on my time here in the USA and all I can say is........
I am astounded, amazed, delighted, gob smacked and blown away by all the kindness I have received here and the beauty I have seen, I only hope that one day some (if not all) of you can make it to Aus where I can do the same for you.
My Journey has not yet finished, just this leg of it.........so now, it's onward to Auckland, New Zealand!!!
See you all there!!!!!!

Chrissy didn't know where to put this but your picture is on Yahoo. In the crawl there is an article about the travelling pants, when you click on it there is the travelling pants story then there is a line of photos - last photo of you girls in San Antonio with you holding the pants.

ChrissyB, thank you so much for sharing this fabulous journey with us. Safe travels as it continues. We look forward to more of the same from NZ!
And thank you, too, to all of you who joined the journey, and shared your part of the tale.
I'm going to miss it, at journey's end. But now it is on the Board, we can always revisit!
Take care, all.0 -
hey DorK, yep it's the best road trip ever!
I already knew of America's great beauty but the pics are wonderful. It's reassuring to be reminded that Americans are essentially good (you see/hear so many awful things on the news these days) and treat a visitor so well. Of course, it IS Chrissy with her friendly personality and gigawatt grin.
Chrissy, love the pic underneath the pier and how the view stretches into the misty infinity.
Wonderful metaphor for life! Thanks for sharing the journey with us. {{hugs}} to all

Just wanted to say that I have loved the pics too! And I think it's great that the Traveling Pants made the papers and Yahoo.
I am so glad I got to meet ChrissyB, DorK, Reesie and Hauntie during Chrissy's travels.
I hope the rest of your journey is wonderful Chrissy and thanks for sharing it with us!

Chrissy,
Thank you for sharing all your adventures and all your meetings with these lovely women. I'm so sorry not to have gotten the honor to meet you as the way you have touched so many lives is just astounding and inspirational. You are such a beautiful woman inside and out and this journey has been wonderful for all of us even if some of us just got to go by your journal and pictures. Thank you so much.
I too think your mist pictures are amazing! Safe travels! Can't wait for your next trip back here!

Chrissy,
Maybe you could write a blog entry for us about your experiences, as it involved meeting so many BCO Cyberfriends!! It wouldn't need to be long, but it is really an amazing story and journey!
Wishing you well in New Zealand.

I thought it was great that Chrissy was able to meet Shirlann who has been on these boards since 2002 and is such a wonderful, helpful lady.

Chrissy,
Just catching up with your posts. I miss you. Our time with you was too short, as I'm sure everyone else who met you agrees. I am so, so glad I got to meet you and introduce you to the Rocky Mountains. Your interest in everything you see makes me appreciate it even more. I see it with new eyes. Karen in Denver - I enjoyed meeting you. We should meet for lunch again soon.
Safe travels homeward, Chrissy. Your time in CA sounds wonderful. So, how many girls were you able to meet during your time here? It's amazing how it all pulled together. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we all did. It was quite an adventure for us all. I imagine, though, that your own bed will feel pretty good to you after 6 weeks.
I've been attempting to integrate the phrase "gob smacked" into daily conversation, and I'm planning some serious knitting projects for the winter. Our snow lasted a day, and this weekend it's supposed to be in the 80's again. That's CO weather for you!
I hope we can meet again sometime. You've brought so much joy into so many lives!
Love,
Lane

Chrissy thank you for all the wonderful pictures! It clearly brings joy watching you go from location to location with all the love that is being shared. For those of us stuck in the "fear" of trying something new you have been such an inspiration!
Thank you for sharing such a fantastic adventure...

Chrissy is talking to much to get any new pictures up. We (Chrissy, Rae and I) have just got dressed after sitting all morning at the table setting the world to right. Such fun and so much laughter..
Do not believe anything you are told about my navigational skills. The blame must be placed on the Rugby World Cup which meant closed streets and having to find a way around. Great fun in peak hour traffic and I am pleased I wasn't driving.
Big hugs
Alyson
