Chrissy, Did you ever get all your posts and pictures bound into a book or album? It WAS an amazing trip, and you met so many wonderful gals, and saw and did so many amazing things!!! I was so glad you were able to start this thread and it really felt like we were right there with you, experiencing it all. My only regret was I wasn't able to get to one of the places you were at, to meet you in person! Ok, now you HAVE to come back!!!! Hugs for you...(((((Chrissy)))))

Oh my! I have just realized that it is a year since I visited this thread and two since it was created........where has the time gone?!
Like many my life has been moving forward and other things come and go and take up my time. For the last year I have been preparing for my youngest DD's wedding.
When I say youngest, she is my youngest but not as young as some........lol......she turned 40 in April this year but has until two years ago not found the man of her dreams.
I have since found out from a few of her friends and herself that she has actually known her now husband for about ten years but at the time of their meeting they were both in other relationships so didn't act on the sparks that apparently flew.........(good on them). Time passes and relationships finish and two years ago they finally got together. I knew from the first time that I met him that he was a keeper and I could see that he adored my daughter. For her, she was so ecstatically happy and in all her relationships of the past I never saw her laugh so hard or so long that she ended up with tears rolling down her face and for my very serious daughter this was wonderful to see.
Preparations have been going on for the big day all year long.......they had decided to have their wedding ceremony and reception here in my small country town rather than the city, so all decorations had to be done by us.......no wedding planners here......lol.
I have been crocheting and crafting dream catchers that were to be given to the guests as a keepsake of the day, cutting metres and metres of tulle to make chair ties and many metres of fussy cutting lace to make long table runners for the tables. Hiring 200 metres of fairy lighting and scouring the secondhand stores for vases from the fifties and sixties as well as wine glasses with wide bottoms to hold the tea light candles that were to be used on the tables and other areas of the room. Talking to the owners of the Italian Restaurant here and organising the menu and fine details of when we could have access to begin the set up the day before the wedding.
So many things........so little time. My DD chose her gown and organized a dress maker and then asked me to crochet hearts that were to be attatched to the back of the dress as part of the train.......it was my pleasure to do this for her. I also decided to make my own mother of the bride outfit and began crocheting a top and choosing fabric to make a shirt and undertop. All was doing fine time wize until a couple of weeks before the day DD decided to change the back of her dress so the hearts that I had done were now t;he wrong color and had to be redone........needless to say other things went on hold while this was done and my outfit got finished at 5.00am the morning of the wedding.
All the planning and hard work came together to make a very memorable day and one that will be remembered by all who attended. I have been asked by so many to share the photos and I have done so on a couple of threads but for ease of everyone it was suggested that I post them here as well and keep them in one place. Enjoy! The room before decorating.
After decorating.
The cake.
The bride with her daddy.
Both my DD's.
The happy couple!
The official photographer is a friend of my DD's and he has posted a few shots so I will also share those next.
Love n hugs. Chrissy0 -

hi Chrissy, thanks for sharing photos! You look great and I'm in awe of your decorating and sewing talents. Congratulations to your DD and new SIL. Love the pic you called the happy couple, where he's holding her close and looking in her eyes like he's the luckiest guy in the whole world. Which of course he is! I have a pic of my brand-new DH holding me like that, right after we'd said our vows, and I treasure it.
Can hardly believe it's been two years since you were here! ♥

Crissy, beautiful pictures. The dream catchers and the lights are a special touch. Actually we can see all of the special care you put into the wedding. You did good!0 -
Sorry girls about the size but I was trying out the new posting bar and I can't find how to resize. The pic is of the lights and dream catchers. The catchers were suspended by fine fishing line so they looked like they were floating.
Just learned that I can resize in edit......yay!!!!0 -
That's going to be bad if you can't resize.0 -
Meece, I've posed the question to the Mods in the glitches thread. Bit of a pain as Picasa whom I use as my web album has now joined with google and the editing part is no longer available so that is another pain so I can't even resize there. I might try Photobucket and see what they have to offer in the way of editing tools.0 -
Still playing.....lol. This was the lighting level on the night as well as masses of candles.0 -
Testing, testing.........
Yay!!! It worked!!!0 -
Lovely pictures, Chrissy! And here's the explanation we posted to answer Chrissy's question about Resizing.
Chrissy, I switched to Photobucket too when the editing function went away with Picasa. It was easy to join and use, and has a resizing option.0
