Janis, thanks for sharing the link. I will definitely read this later since BP disorder affects loved ones and friends.

True BFF, can't thank you enough for the heads up on the arm exercises. Since I have not started rads yet, this is good information to know. I already have some arm pain from arthritis/bursitis, so this is really important for me.

I am so glad I found all of you! So much information and you are all so sweet too.

I found my "home thread" and it is also active which makes me happy since I check in daily and like to read the goings on of all of you. I like getting to "know" my peers, especially those of you who have walked in the shoes I will soon be walking in.

    Thanks for being here!Kiss

Janis, I just read Renee's words, and they are very powerful. I will pray for her. I added her book to my Amazon wish list, and will buy it next time I place an order. I wish her the very best.

Okay, so my shoulder and arm are really bothering me. My shoulder hurts. I have no trouble reaching up, but if I move my arm wrong, pain! You can forget about sleeping on that side too. Well, also cause of the stupid TEs. I do my stretches several times a day, but things just don't seem to be getting much better. This really sucks. Frown

Andrea, Ask for a breast cancer specialist in occupational therapy. And for a pain management team. Seriously. You will benefit from the first and the second will get you thorugh those times of pain.

April, I am thinking of you about your surgery tomorrow. Prayers.

Thanks ladies. I am a nervous wreck. Not so much about the actual surgery but about those "clean margins" and what may be lurking in the path report. I have read several accounts of being originally being diagnosed with DCIS only to have that change to an IDC diagnosis after the lumpectomy. Scared of that big time but can't change what will be. So, going to bed early and going to try and get some sleep. Did not do much of that the last few nights. I am tired!

Thanks again for the good wishes!

Good luck April.  Wishing you a wonderful outcome.  We will be here waiting to hear from you.  Hugs Sweetie.

Andrea thanks for adding Renee's book to your list.  If you read her short story you get and idea how gifted she is.  I am sorry your shoulder is so  bad.  Try massaging it a bit yourself and heat and ice alternated might help.  Make sure to let your doctor know anything like this that is bothering.  Maybe PT would help.

Have a good day everyone.  'll be checking back later.  Hugs, of course.

Thinking of you April. It will be fine.

I just had my first mammogram today and it went well. Thanks for the support everyone. I am now finally cancer free. Next step. Thyroid.

Just got home from the hospital. They ended up deciding to give me general anesthesia due to where the lesion was (near a whole bunch of nerve endings?) so that kept me in recovery a little longer. I am in a bit of pain but thank goodness for ice and percocet!

DH just went to get me some wonderful chicken soup from the deli up the road. It is better than my home made (almost) and has healing properties (that Jewish penicillin..lol) so can't wait to eat something. Haven't had but half a silly blueberry muffin in recovery and some tea. So thirsty! I have had about 5 cups of ice water..lol

Heading for some snuggle time on the couch with my kitty cat, my blankie and a nice fire in the fireplace! Can't seem to get warm today. OR's are freezing!

Doctor said it went very well and that she thinks it is all gone from my body. Path report will tell that story.Tongue Out

Thanks again for all the well wishes! xoxo

Hi All, Been a bit busy this week with college visits for my oldest son, so have to catch up.

April, glad things went well, and welcome to you. Cuddle that kitty for a day or two and you will feel better- my cat took good care of me after my mx last year!

Janis, so glad to hear you are healed. What a relief to know you can start getting back in the swing of things.Be careful with the dog leashes- I tried to walk my friend's newfoundland the other day and he was in a naughty mood. Needless to say, I let go of that leash pretty quickly. We laughed for quite a while after we caught him.

Bunkie, so glad the mammo was clear- it is a scary day when you have to go in,but nice to pass a test once in a while.

Andrea, sorry about the shoulder. Mostlysew, I finished my pt for le a month ago and still miss the massage.

Welcome to all the newbies. Will check back soon.

Cowpower, you tried walking a newfie? My son has one, and I think it would be easier to ride him, than walk him. Between him and my malamutes, it's a miracle our arms are still attached at the shoulders!

    How is your son doing?

Andrea, my son is fine- no sign of an attack since that day in January. Saw endocrinologist, who said since the problem with his potassium is rare and his attacks are infrequent, we should just try to ignore it as much as possible. Works for me....Now he just is waiting for his big brother to go off to college so he can rule the roost.

The most hilarious part of my dealings with the newfie is that he has just been neutered and still thinks we have a "special" relationship. He has always loved me, but his ardent pursuit has its drawbacks:) He is now in obedience training......

Cowpower, I'm glad your son is doing well. That has to be a huge relief!

I am laughing about your "special" relationship with the Newfie! Hope his obedience classes help tame his passion!

April, you sound very relieved...amazing how the stress leaves after the surgery is over.  I remember the OR being cold too - only it was August for me!  Rest up - don't start running around yet....and don't for get to do the happy dance...here's to a good report and fast recovery.
Bunkie...so happy to hear your good news.  This dance is for you, too!

SAB - was wondering where you're at...glad you popped in.

So very happy for the good news April & bunkie !

Janis, happy for your good news,, too.

I have managed to tear the cornea in my right eye. So the bright lights of a computer aren't the best for me right now, but I had to check in to see how you all were doing.

Gotta get some healing sleep now. I wish that for all of us.

What a great day for all of us....April's surgery is all done, Bunkie passed her first mammo, Janis is healed, Cowpower has checked in and her son's doing well, Joan's getting her car fixed and we've heard from several other of our "old timers".....and I'm at a knitting convention (eat your heart out Cowpower...tehehe). I just love good news days. Keep well everyone,

Good Morning! Feeling a little bit better today than I was yesterday! Pain is about a 5 out of 10. Yesterday before bed it was a 10 out of 10! Oweeee! I guess I let the pain get a little ahead of the pain meds. Won't do that again. Feel much better with a good dose of the meds and ice.

Just going to hang out today and not do a thing except veg on the couch, read a little (when I can focus..pain meds make my eyes droopy quickly when reading even though I am used to them as have had them for years for my knee pain which is bone on bone) and watch some HGTV and Food channel.

Hoping you all have a great day! Enjoy the convention MS and glad your son is better Cowpower!

Back to my day off work.Smile

This is a bit off the regular but I read someplace about getting aquaphor out of a t shirt. I used white men's cotton for most of my treatment and after but have a grey cotton that I like that I must have worn a few times. Brain fog I can not remember. It has been washed but has that circle of grease stain right over the breast area. So far my Tide free has not moved it out. Any ideas?

I love Advanced Shout. It gets grease out of my DH's shirts and pants like nothing else. He bled all over a pair of pants after cutting himself and I saw the bloody (khakis) pants in the dirty clothes and figured it was a goner due to being there for at least 4 days but I used that stuff and good as new!

It is probably good if the OR is cold, it will keep the surgeon awake Surprised

No laundry advice from me, I am a TERRIBLE laundress (and cook and cleaner too.)

Joan, I have been off interviewing like crazy (but not for any of the above jobs.)  Tough job market.  This last job there were 106 qualified candidates, 10 interviews and now 3 finalists.  I have interviewed for the position 3 times in the past 2 weeks, with a total of 6 interviewers.  And that is for a part time job! Another part time job asked me to do a spec writing assignment just to be considered.  It took hours, and that's just to help them narrow down the couple hundred responses (I think they had about a dozen people write for them.)

Like Sew said, it is wonderful to check in and see everyone doing well. Macatac I hope that tear isn't too serious, and April make sure to listen to your body...if your eyes droop it's telling you to sleep!

    Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
