I am heartbroken - rest in peace dear Marybe.

Cancer may have taken her body, but it will never have taken her spirit.0

LuvRVing, usually the florists charge a really, really small amount for the flowers (it's a per stem price), so donations to BCO in Mar's memory could be an additional option for many. Thanks for reminding me of that!0

Ok...this is my second post- i just opened an account to pay homage to my friend, Marybe. I wrote under the heading of Prayers for Marybe but wanted to post here as well so you know how thankful we are for all of your support and prayers for Marybe. She was my best friend- the friend of my life and I am at a loss without her. Please pray for me- selfish I know but I am lost without my friend but I was so blessed to have her in my life for close to 30 years!!! Oddly enough ( or maybe not ), I was diagnosed approx 3 yrs ago with Lobular carcinoma....like our friendship was meant to be and of course, she helped me through it. Maybe I will go into that section of the message boards in honor of her. Marybe was all about helping others and it was EXTREMELY important to her to know that she could inspire all of you- she took this very seriously and I wanted each and every one of you to know that. I just wish she could have carried on. Hats off to Marybe and NO MORE PORTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU MARYBE- du bist un guten freund

The forum I've Donated to Breastcancer.org in honor of... has been another place here on the boards where members have recorded how they've remembered friends we've lost.0

Thank you, Marybe, for every kindness. We move forward in memory of the example you set... with determination, with hope. You were a lovely lady.
Sincere condolences to Marybe's husband and father, and to Barbara... a sweet and caring friend. I wish you all peace.

I made a contribution to BCO to honor Marybe. I can't think of a better way to recognize her contributions to this community.

Let's raise at least one dollar for every post she contributed to all of us.

Leez, Marybe spoke of you in her posts. I almost feel like I know you Know that she treasured you and much as you treasured her. Hugs and prayers to you for your loss.

Barb, I know you're exhausted and devastated by the loss of Marybe, but you've been such a blessing both to her and to us all. We're so grateful for the posts you've made during your time in Cincinnati, for the information you shared, and especially for telling Marybe how much we all loved her. Even in the midst of the sorrow you were feeling, you shared with us, and we thank you. I hope now, or as soon as arrangements are made and carried out, you'll be able to get some rest and sleep, and find peace. It was an honor to know Marybe, and I consider it an honor to know you as well.

I woke in the middle of the night and thought of Marybe and knew she was gone, this morning I couldn't and wouldn't get on the computer to confirm this. I hate cancer, third friend this year taken too soon.
Marybe, you are a star now for all of us and we must keep your memory alive.

Lee - how lucky you were to have Marybe as a friend for so long - I only knew her here but was so inspired by her example so she did what she set out to do and she showed her love in so many ways - some of us even got cookies if you can imagine - hope you'll hang out with us for a while and perhaps it'll make the transition just a little easier.
Hugs, Sandy

I am new to this but what is Barb's ID? I was looking but couldn't find her anywhere. And U R right, Barb is a rock and came through fior Marybe when she needed it most. I will always love her for that. Marybe was the best friend I ever had and there is no replacement for her. She was wonderful and I am truly lost.

Yes, I know about the cookies- she was afraid they would get confiscated "over the border." And I think she told me some did. It was a fairly recent discussion. She was always doing things like that- lots of cookies for patients on her chemo days as well. Love love loved her.0

And Lee, how blessed you were to have been Marybe's friend for 30 years. I just went to the Prayers thread and wish I'd found it before. I pray now that your sorrow will heal in the days to come and that you and all of us will one day think of Marybe with laughter and gratitude, not with the tears we all have now.
I send sympathy to you, to Tim, Daddy, and all of Marybe's family.

What a sense of loss. I have always felt somehow stronger because Marybe was still here, 14 years into metastatic breast cancer. She was a wonderful person with such a strong drive to live life on HER terms. She was the very first person who responded to me when I came to the board diagnosed with mets. She gave me hope and a feeling of empowerment. And much support and friendship since. You will be so greatly missed, Marybe. I will never forget you. May you rest in peace, my sister.
My deepest condolences to Marybe's father and to her husband, Tim, and to all her family and friends.0 -
Oh Lee so glad you joined. Lee and I were with her when she passed. We took turns talking to her and holding her hand. When Harley arrived, we put him on the bed and placed her hand on him. Harley was scared cause Mom didnt smell right. But she knew he was there. Frankly, Harley provided much comfort for all of us, especially Tim. Her father was stoic but I know he will be grieving later. Her passing was as she had planned and was painless and peaceful.
My heart is breaking and I need to sleep. Didn't get much last night.
Thanks to all of you who loved our Marybe. God bless us all and most especially, our beloved Marybe.0 -
I am so saddened to hear this. Sending lots of strength to her family and friends through this difficult time.

Oh, I just knew it, somehow. I've been off the boards for several days. But my heart told me she was gone, and I have put off coming to confirm it. She was so sweet to me... and to everyone. I will miss her very, very much. What a lovely lady.
