5 years from diagnosis Sept 1,

Five years ago, on September 15th at 4 p.m., I got the call that would change my life: I had breast cancer. It would take another three months til my BMX, another 11 months til my exchange, and almost two years on Arimidex and Femara.
I am celebrating today, as I've been told that survivorship starts with diagnosis.
But I'll celebrate again in December on the 5th anniversary of my BMX!
God is good!

I reached my 5 year milestone in August. Yea! I was DX with IDC, Stage 1b, Grade 1. I had a lumpectomy and 33 Rads treatments and 1 year on Arimidex and 4 years on Tamoxifen and an 11 Oncotype score.
No more Tamoxifen and no more Oncology visits. So blessed. No guarantees but a good sign.
God is good.

5-years ago today I had my bilateral mastectomy & lymph nodes removed on both sides. My surgeon & oncologist were not very optimistic before surgery based on the biopsy results. Here I am five years later...scars, aches & pains from Leterozole but very grateful to be alive. I retired last Nov. and have been able to enjoy each day with my rescue Newfoundlands & horses. I'm also blessed with three grandchildren who bring me great joy.
This forum was my rock during the first couple of years. Thank you breastcancer.org.
I hope all of you who are celebrating your canniversary are doing well. 💕💕
