    Bella76,

I'm so sorry to hear of the new cancer. I developed a rare from of Hodgkins' lymphoma seven years after being diagnosed with BC--like you, totally unrelated to the first cancer. I'm doing fine now. How are you managing? Happy to listen/discuss via PM if you need a sympathetic ear/shoulder.

So great to hear from survivors. I hope to be posting with you all in 5 years. Alicethecat, did you also receive Herceptin as part of your treatment?

    Hello Pip

Yes, I did have Herceptin - and the rest of the kitchen sink - and it worked well on my grade 3 tumour. Profile updated, so thanks for asking me about this invaluable part of my treatment.

I am hoping for the same results for you!

HoneyBeaw--The first year is hard, you're still recovering, physically and emotionally, don't hesitate to use any meds that will help you feel like yourself again. I was on Celexa for anxiety & depression for 2 years and 1.5 on Ambien, both I was able to stop when I started feeling better.

I am pleased to share that my wife is officially a 5-year survivor. We celebrated with a trip to Iceland last week. Making plans has always been therapeutic. So many of you stepped forward to show me kindness and hold my hand during dark days—so that I could be a better support for my wife. I wanted to thank you all. I also wanted to share my wife’s story as another beacon of hope for our friends here who are new to this challenge. Praying for strength and healing power for all

5 years from dx! Stopped tamoxifen last year myself...to many SE's. Other than being still up 25lbs, life is good.

This post was originally published in April 2012, so more than five years ago. I wonder how many 5-year survivors are still here to celebrate their 10th year of survivorship?

As a newbie, yes, this post gives me great hope!
