My MRI didn't happen. I got a call late yesterday to say the Consultant wasn't available today, so it has been put off until next Friday - sigh, more waiting! Congrats on your boy getting a job KT, that's fantastic. My cousins husband passed away this morning from Stomach Cancer, he was only in his late 50's. Life sucks sometimes. Anyway I better get back to work - at least it's Friday. Take care everyone xxx

Oh, Donna, what a pain. I hate when that happens- all psyched up for it & it doesn't happen...

Sorry about your cousins hubby. You're right, too much cancer & sucky stuff happening to people.

Hope everyone's enjoying Friday. I'm knackered- nothing new there. Takeaways for dinner tonight I think. Alpaca shearing & wedding tomorrow, so a busy day. Will have to rest up between to get thru it..

    Have a good weekend :)

Good news today - we finally have title for the section we'd like to build on :) Now it feels real & we can begin planning the house etc! Quite exciting to do something positive....

Had work today, then Pinc physio, so tired but good tired I guess. Day off tomorrow so that's all good.

Hope you all had a good weekend :)

Cool pic, Shazza! Looks like you both had fun :)

Nikki, I will PM you sometime- when I'm not so tired (will it ever happen?!)

Chemo tomorrow. I'm seriously thinking of asking for the week before Christmas off.

    Night all

KT I know what you mean about being tired all the time. I am finding it harder and harder to get out of bed in the morning. It's lucky I work the afternoon shiftI don't see that it would be a problem taking the chemo off during the week of Xmas. I'm taking 8 weeks off and they are fine with that if its what I want.

    kt1966 Member Posts: 1,021

Good on you, Shazza- 8 weeks is a decent break! I'm too scared to do that yet...? I am planning to get another week off in February for our trip to Nelson tho.

Chemo today & zometa inf after- always makes me feel even more tired, yippee. I got my next lot of appts & they're all 8:30 or 9 am again!!! I hate getting up earlier than 6 then dealing with rush hour traffic! So I rang and made it clear I prefer later appts for the next time, they said they'd make a 'note'- so we'll see! It's gets old repeating myself and not getting results :(

Hope you're all good, & not stressing about how close Christmas is now ;)

Hi guys, how is everyone doing? Lovely photo of you and your girl Shazza. I don't know how you guys do it, no wonder you get tired? I'm feeling tired just thinking about Christmas - I have three parties this weekend, too much!!! I had my MRI this morning at Middlemore. Apparently it's a fairly new machine and they have only just started doing them there (this is that little building just before you get to Middlemore, not the actual Hospital). This is my 3rd MRI and this time I felt like a sardine squashed in a can. Don't ask me how they do really big Mamas!!! I am a bit worried. I thought it was just my annual check up but they have asked for images of my good boob, the one they did the biopsy on a few months ago. I'm trying not to worry but it sucks that it's just before Christmas and it brings back memories of my diagnoses nearly two years ago now. Anyway, I hope you guys are looking after yourselves and getting some rest before the silly season gears up another notch. Donna xxx

I hate to say this Donna, but at Taranaki DHB, anyone who is too big to fit in our MRI gets sent to Middlemore to the BIG one! Our weight limit is 150Kg and it's pretty claustrophobic for me at 94 Kg!

    Good luck with the results.

    Sue.

Hi Donna. Good the MRI is done. I hope you don't have to wait too long for results.

I'm in paihia atm, gotta hop in the shower so we can get the ferry to Russell & have a look around. It's lovely to have a change of scene :)

Nice to see you Sue. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

    hi ladies

Just catching up again on everyone's news. Donna I hope your MRI results are good and know we are all here for you if you need us! Thinking of you.

Kt - lucky you spending the weekend in Paihia/Russell. It's very beautiful up that way. Trust you made the most of it and hope the weather was nice for you. And congrats on the section and the new building project to look forward too.

Shazza - love the picture of you and your daughter at her graduation dinner. I have one somewhere of my girl and me at hers last week. I'll try and find it and post at the end of this. Hard to believe that school is all finished for them but on to the next chapter.

Terre - have you heard how those beautiful wee kittens are doing that you rescued?

Kat good luck for your Op if you haven't had it already. Sorry you had to delay your trip but it will be worth it when you get here! :)

Alyson looks like you had a fab time in Aussie and making the most of it - good on you!

Nikki hope managing work and the tiredness is getting a little better. Are you taking some time off over Xmas to have a rest?

Hi to anyone else I've missed....my memory is getting worse each day I think! Lol Woody, Midnight, Siems, Twofer, Jo....hope all is good.

I am looking forward to a quieter week this week. Last week was very hectic. Started with a super flash 50th party (they even got John Rowles to come along and sing) and 84 bottles of Moet were consumed! Followed by my daughters graduation dinner, then the next night Prizegiving, then I flew down to Nelson for a night as my Aunt has been in and out of hospice down there with stomach cancer so I wanted to spend time with her. So glad I did but very hard saying goodbye as I may not see her again ;(. Then my son's Prizegiving and my partner Tim's birthday last Friday and all his family came down to stay the weekend and we celebrated birthdays and an early Christmas. So I am really looking forward to this week to catch up on some jobs and more packing etc.

Beautiful day here today - hope you all have sun where you are too. X

Hi ladies, I hope you are all doing well. Kruise what a gorgeous photo, you and your daughter are just beautiful and you must be very proud. I had my Oncology appointment today at the Botany Superclinic and I had Rosalie Fisher. I've never had her before but I have heard some of you talk about her. She is very young and glam looking. Really nice too. She said I looked fine, everything seemed to be good, although she doesn't have my MRI results from Friday yet. So I am going to stop worrying and enjoy Christmas. Take care everyone, I hope you are all coping well with Christmas which isn't far away now. Donna xxx

Wow, you have been busy Kruise. Great photo :)

Donna, I'm glad you got good news at your appt. I hope the MRI is good news too. Annoying they didn't have the results. Odds are its fine tho :)

We had a lovely time in Paihia & Russell. No cooking, cleaning etc. had some lovely meals out & the weather was great. Tired now tho, but it was worth it!

I think I'm almost done with the Christmas shopping. Just last minute groceries really...

Hope you all have a good week

Rosalie is my Oncologist Donna. I love her! I've seen her since the beginning and hope I will always see her. She tells me like it is with compassion and empathy. I am so pleased that you were able to see Rosalie - she is honest and tells you like it is unless she's got nothing to tell.

Kruise - fab photo. You look amazing and so does your daughter! I only have a couple of weeks off over Christmas, but I will be making the most of it. Staying in Auckland until probably mid January then heading to Wellington to see my Family - now that I look a bit more human (than last year).

KT, I am so pleased that you had a great time away up north. Sadly, I am not as organised as you and have lots to do before Christmas - teenagers are hard to buy for!!!!

    Hi to everyone else xoxo

Hi Nikki, nice to see you :) Teenagers are hard to buy for! My DD wanted a new watch so we went shopping together for that! Can't choose for them now, they know what they like.

I turned up for my 9am chemo today & was told I wasn't expected till 10:30! Great, they forgot to tell me again! DH brought me down today as he had anerrand to do, so at least I didn't have to drive thru the rush hour this time :)

    Catch you all later

Hi all! I hope you're getting sorted for Christmas.

I had my assessment today & once again wrong time!!! I was told 9, but it was 12:10!! Luckily Pam at reception fitted me in with a lovely Dr so I was seen :) and I got to catch up with the trial nurse too.

I've asked for this week off chemo. I'm so glad to be skipping it this week, I'm totally over stupid cancer and all it entails!

My energy levels are still crap so it will hopefully let me catch up :)

Take care all, enjoy the silly season....

I hope everyone is well. So blimming annoying about your appointment times KT. 3 Hours difference in appointment times is ridic, we just don't need those bumps in the road. I was reduced to tears when a similar thing happened with my injection when it just wasn't ordered. I got the distinct impression that the pharmacist thought I was over reacting. Ugh! Hoping that you enjoy your week off xoxo

I had the pleasure of meeting up with Fizzdon last night for a coffee. So nice but weird to put a face to the name. We had a good chat about stuff - which is good for my soul. Hope to do it again soon. I hope you all are good and looking forward to a good Christmas and New Year. Thank you for being part of my world this year - I appreciate each and everyone of you.

    Hug

Beautiful card Nik! And glad you got to meet Fizzdon!

KT - appointment hell...just not right!

I am in Auckland this week, but just got back to the hotel from work. I'm at the client's office this week and it's full on with a huge deadline. I'll be back 05 January. Likely to be equally nutsoid. But hopefully I'll be back after that and maybe we can do a coffee or lunch on a weekday? I know that's a big ask. I get to go home Thursday night - hooray!

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!

KT - sorry to hear about your appt time muck ups. Good on you having a week off. In the scheme of everything it's not going to make much difference and will hopefully make you feel better even - less tired.

Nikki I love you campaign info. Great stuff! And super that you and Donna caught up for coffee. :)

Can't believe Christmas is nearly upon us, I have finished the shopping I need to do but probably still the dreaded supermarket to go. Yay! Not! Lol

Merry Christmas everyone. Enjoy spending time with your loved ones.

    Hi everyone.

Nikki, that's a great page- how are they using it?

So cool that you & Donna got to meet ๐Ÿ˜Š

Terre, you sound so busy! Between work, kittens & unpacking from your move. I hope you get to relax over Christmas. Fantastic if you can catch up in Auckland.

Kruise, I'm with you on the grocery shopping! It's crazy busy & I always have a mental block & forget something....it will be good to finally not have to go to the shops & just enjoy family time & eating too much....

    Enjoy the hols! ๐ŸŽ„

KT they are using it as a postal appeal. There is a letter that goes with it but it's a mail merge document and difficult to read, so I haven't attached it. So far they've raised $74529 (aiming for $100k).

I am over the shops as well, only groceries to get and a zoladex injection and braces appointment tomorrow, then I can put my feet up. I brought a big bestway pool (took 5 hours to fill up) so that I can submerge myself when those hot flushes get to me!

Hi guys, I hope everyone is doing well. Pretty frustrating when appointments aren't scheduled correctly and it must get very old, especially when you have a long way to travel. I loved meeting Nikki, what a lovely lady and it's like you definitely have a bond with someone who has been through a similar experience, no one understands like a BC sister I reckon. Love that poster Nikki!!! Can you believe I still haven't done all my shopping, I am working right up until tomorrow and hopefully I can get off early so I can finish my shopping. Sucks to be this disorganised and it's a bit weird for me. I have gone from being a very well organised person to a disorganised twit. I have really changed since my diagnoses and don't sweat the small stuff now. My kids are grown up now so I guess it's not as important as when they still believe in Santa haha! I hope you all have a lovely Christmas. Thanks to all of you for being so wonderful this year, it's so nice knowing I have all you ladies to advise, encourage and just understand. Donna xxx

    ๐ŸŽ‰ Happy New Year everyone!!

I hope you all had a great Christmas ๐Ÿ˜„

Mine was pretty good. Nice to catch up with family (from both sides) and chill out a bit. We had some great weather, not so great now tho!

My DD is camping! up north at Hihi.... Last night a large branch fell on her car and broke the windscreen and a neighbouring tent was impaled by a branch! Thankfully she & her friends are ok. Not sure if they're going to tough it out to Sunday or come home early.... It will be a camping trip to remember, not so much fun at the time tho maybe.

Take care out there, it's really a day for hunkering in and reading/eating chocolate etc ๐Ÿ˜

Happy New Year to each and every one of you!
