hi patty peppermint~ my original diagnosis was 1997. The mets to bones and lungs 2012. I hope I'll make it awhile. I really want to hold a grand baby some day. Can't push son though, he's only been married 3 months! I've had really good luck with A/A. 3 years this month.

Bosco, My heart goes out to you as you face these new results and treatment. Keep focused on seeing your son go to college as you move forward. With new treatment you may well reach that goal and way beyond. Sending you strength and love.

Bosco, you have been dealt a very difficult hand. Anyone would be down and out. You have all of my heart felt prayers for a successful treatment plan! I'm praying that you will not only see your son off to college in the fall, but see him graduate as well! I'm holding your hand across the pond. Love Chelle.

Bosco, I am sorry about your scan results. Do you know what your treatment plan will be or will you learn that on Friday? Maybe you will feel better once the tax begins. I have prayed for you this morning and will continue to do so. I hope you respond to treatment and that you are able to. See your son enter college in September. You remain in my thoughts.

Bosco, I don't know if it will help, but I've heard stories (somewhere on here) of people who had progression after progression and then BANG, the doctors hit the right treatment and they have long term stability! Remember too, the old studies that took terminal patients and had them watch comedies and cartoons and many of them went into remission. So chase away the dark clouds...it's a stumble, not a fall. Gentle hugs!

To everyone...don't worry about me. I found losing people was starting to depress me and make me a bit pessimistic, so now I only come on when I'm feeling strong. Loving the kitten photos, though :) Those little faces do wonders for my attitude. Terre, how do you resist having a house full of your charges? I think I'd end up with at least one new kitten every couple of weeks.

My next appointment is March 22, so until then it's all good. I'm working at getting myself back to ketogenics, and back on my supplements. We've also been dealing with recurring cystitis in our nervous boy cat. I think the all-wet-food diet, new litterbox regime and felliway plug-in are working.

We're going to another murder mystery dinner at the end of the month...1920's gangster themed (that's gangster, not gangsta). I'll come back and post photos.

    Happy

Mom, I was happy to read that you spoke to the MO about your Daughter's plan. Some procedures can be dangerous if blood counts, including platelets, are low.

Mary, I am happy that your scans show stability. WOOHOO! I am joining in on that happy dance. As far as the primary is concerned, their is a certain amount of excitement in NH because there are so many opportunities to meet the candidates and ask questions, but frankly, most of us are happy when things settle back down.

Milaandra, Thank you for checking in. It is good to hear from you. We can't help but worry when people are off the boards for any length of time. I am glad you are doing well. I understand how easy it is to feel depressed when we lose people here. It seems that we have lost many dear friends lately. I sometimes think about taking breaks, too, but I have come to depend on everyone here. I know I can talk freely and people will understand.

    Patty, how was the painting

Has anyone heard from Daughterlove lately?

Hello to everyone. Have a good day.

well I had to take a rain check on the painting and wine night. Yesterday I felt bad sore throat, sore ear, nausea, exhaustion. Was in bed by 6 p.m. . Luckily they do it again in 2 weeks. I am definitely going to try to make that one. Feeling much better today

Txmom. Waving hi back at you

Mods. Seen you popped in hello

Dee - great idea for PCP to write that letter to mo. Hope that gives better results.

Annie, good luck on your scan results.

Lynne. You have alot of grandchildren to love on. Wow. 6 sons. They must have kept you very busy growing up. Continuing to pray for speedy recovery for dh and strength for you to nurse him

3-16- STABLE. !!! Awesome news. Doing the happened dance for you right now.

Lindalou. - how frustrating that must be having your mo and endo be on such different pages. So how will you decide ? Did you get the snow you were expecting?

Amy I too am on the Falsodex \ Ibrance combo. My mo echos what deanna said re: revisiting femara

Deanna. All rested up from your trip ?

I have been wondering \ worrying about Hope, aka. Romansma. Before Christmas she was trying to decide rather to tske 1 last chance on a new tx or to give up as her options of tx is pretty much depleted. She hasn't been on fb or returned any pm or texts. Don't wanna bother her family but am worried. Has anyone heard from her since Christmas?

    Hugs sl around

Bosco, I am joining in the prayers for you this morning. No doubt you must be feeling totally devastated, but as others have said and you already know, you just need to get on the right med to turn things around. Do they do genomic testing in the UK? That seems to be the coming wave, and I am hearing about more and more women having it done and then moving onto the next tx with more success. There was some discussion recently on FB about one that has yielded good results for a couple of women who have done it. I think this is the link for it: http://www.carismolecularintelligence.com/faq I hope you can push for something like this right now.

And how exciting about your son. He must be very smart to already have a college acceptance in the US for the fall.

Mary, that's wonderful news on your report!

txmom and Milaandra, good to see you both! And Milaandra, we all totally get the need to take breaks from BCO at times.

Stillivin, I totally relate to your comment about wanting a grand baby! We just have to hope and pray it happens, and that we'll be around a long time to enjoy it when it does.

    Good morning all!

Mary & Stillivin, that is such great news!! Like Linda, A/A combo is probably my next option, but I'm trying like the dickens to stay away from it for as long as possible, but good to know that you can get a long time on it.

Bosco, so sorry to hear of your progression, but like others have said, hopefully the next treatment will be the one that will bring you to stable. ((hugs))

Milaandra, I totally relate to needing a break sometimes, but I found it didn't work for me as I worried about everyone more when I didn't come here, so now quite often I just read but don't post.

I'm still waiting for a return phone call from my MO whether I qualify for the Personal Onc Genome study going on here in BC, it's been 8 days.... hate the waiting.

To everyone on this thread, I read everyday, sharing your ups & downs, please forgive me for not calling you all by name.

Hoping for a good painfree day to all, cheers, Dee

    Hi ladies,

I'm trying to catch up but so busy at work that I never complete a reply!

I did see the new oncologist who agreed w everything but the pain management and I am trying to address this with pain management but they never call back. I did like the new oncologist but don't know if I want to switch yet but did make a pending appointment for 1/22 the day I need my shots anyways.

I had the MRI yesterday and it made me feel weird. I don't know why, but I felt really out of it in the machine and kind of scared. I sent the results to both oncologists. Let's see which oncologist gets back to me first. It's a race lol!

I'm still in pain, and I wish pain management would call me back so I am ensure of enough pain meds. I feel like the Subsys is fading in effectiveness. I know same old story!

Anyways, my sister visited and that was nice. She returned home yesterday but she really bonded w my 7 year old daughter and I liked that.

I am so sorry for the progression Bosco, that really sucks and please don't be afraid to talk about it here at all.

Lynne, glad you had your wonderful Christmas dinner.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes. I got some gift cards. Some for Amazon. Anything breast cancer related, like a supplement, I should order on Amazon? Just checking! And I know I have to get back to taking my turmeric as it seems to help you all w pain.

I do think of you guys often and try to read as much as I can. Maybe when I cut down on work it will be easier to keep up!! I'd like to work 4 days instead of 5. As it stands now, I use my PTO and ESL to work 4 days per week anyways w doctor appointments and kids being sick, etc.

    Chocolate! Did someone say chocolate?

I have an awesome new recipe to share.

Mix up a chocolate cake mix, pour it into a crock pot.

Then mix up a box of chocolate pudding, pour on top of cake mix.

    Sprinkle with chocolate chips

Turn your crock pot on high for two and a half hours.

It's a warm ,gooey ,chocolate celebration. Really good with a scoop of ice cream

Bosco - as I think they say in England, Bloody Hell. I am so sorry to hear of your progression. Sending huge prayers that this treatment regime stops that nasty cancer in its tracks and that you're NED in no time. Wish I could give you a hug.

Cristina - good luck with the new onc!

Glad to read a lot of "stable" and similar good results.

Had an appointment with my orthopedic surgeon today; annual thing. All is well - no screws loose - at least in my leg hardware. He said my femur and hip look great; no sign of any progression or hardware failure.

    Sending hugs to all!

Will post more kitten pics soon..heaven knows that Kitten Inn has a lot of them!

Hi everyone. Here I am again, Ms. Debbie Downer. I just returned from the hospital. My DH was admitted because he has been unable to keep any food or water down since yesterday afternoon. The did a CT scan without contrast due to his kidney issue, and said that it looked like nothing was getting through his duodenum due to inflammation. His white count is also elevated. They wanted to transfer him to Brigham and Women's but B&W didn't have a room for him. He is in N H at least for tonight. He is more comfortable here in NH, but I am not sure they will be able to do what needs to be done. We shall see. I feel so bad for him. He just wants to get better. It is hard to get through all this. I left the hospital at 10:45 when they transferred him from the ER to a regular room. He was feeling good and sleeping soundly in spite of the NG tube that he detests. We did get a bit of good news. the ER dr told us his kidney function looked really bad, but I asked her what the creatinine and GFR levels were. What she thought was bad is actually a significant improvement from 2 weeks ago at discharge. The nephrologist had told us that we could continue to see improvement for several more months. I am hoping that he ends up with a low stage of kidney disease rather than a high one.

Christina, I am glad you like your new onc. I hope you get the pain meds straightened out. It must have been so nice to have your sister visit. I hope you will see her again soon.

Terre, it's good too hear that you have no screws loose.

Patty, I hope you are feeling better. It's too bad you weren't able to paint the other night. At least you will have another opportunity soon.

    Good night everyone.

Lynne, my heart goes out to you and dh. So sorry for the setback but it's really good news about his kidney function. Sending positive thoughts that whatever is causing this can be remedied very quickly.

Terre, good news on no loose screws! Even better news about no progression! Happy happy happy for you! I'm loving all the cat pictures,  I'll have to post a recent one of Chloe. You almost can't see the third kitten in the picture,  they're all adorable.

Terre thanks for the smile and good to hear your screws are all in place. I told you long ago I would post a pic of my cat, well here it is. Hoping it brings more smiles.
