Fur u'r better not go out--I'm sure u called u'r Dr. about how u feel, that's to long for a cold or any stupid thing. If u haven't call before u plan on leaving and tell the Dr. how u feel and what's going on. Just relax and take care of u'rself---plenty of liquids and call me in the morning;;they don't say that anymore, they say call me if u need to in a week or two. LOL

Camill, thanks again for your advise. I did leave a message today at the cancer center. Wonder if anyone is going to call back on a Saturday?

FurFriend, I am sending wishes that your cold and infection go away.

Cami, you are so right about the "call me in a week or two." What's that about anyway?

I think these Docs figure u'll forget about it even if u are sick to long. We're all in the same boat.

Hi hermits- back from the gym and I went swimming today for the first time since October. Not sure what happened to me, but I lost my mojo to swim at the indoor pool when the weather got colder. I find I am more sensitive to heat and cold (and we have had extremes here the past few years with that too), but this week, I was yearning for the pool. So today I did 30 laps, the hot tub and the steam room. Very restorative.

Fur- so sorry to hear you have been under the weather. I got this sinus thing a couple weeks ago and it is still working it's way out. It would be good to find out what they say with your treatment coming up. I hope they check your white count for infection before they do anything. I would hope they would be sure that infection is out of your body before they do the next round of treatment. Enjoy the pretty snow and feel better soon!

Cami- I love the photos you are posting. They give me a good chuckle too. Especially love the boat on the rocks one!

Teka- sounds like you were having a good time in the car with the fam! Glad their was nothing more than a near miss.

Blondie- I am thinking of you today and your breathing.

Going to relax for a bit. I made some banana bread this morning and the whole house is very aromatic today!

Dutchiris- my mother used to make date bread and put creme cheese on it. Good idea to try it on banana bread. I am bringing the bread into my command center Monday for my project team.

I finished my Xmas cards today, I think.

Cami- I am slowing down this afternoon. I had a weird burst of energy today, which surprised me, long work week and all.

I opened some Xmas presents early, LOL!

cami, love the photos. The boat on the rocks really cracked me up.

Jazzy, your cats at the bar cracked me up too. Ahhhhh banana bread......sigh, I haven't had a banana in 2 years. Way too many carbs for my diabetes. I used to love bananas!! No grains, or pastas either......but on the up side, my diabetes is totally controlled and my numbers are in the normal range, so it is worth it.

furfriend, so sorry you are sick. I hope you get better soon and it doesn't upset the schedule of your treatments.

Thinking of you blondie. That really sux about the meds. Government needs to butt the he11 out of our medical care!!

Jazzy, my grandmother served her yummy date nut bread with her version of chili which was very mild. very thin, and had corn in it. I loved it and can almost taste the meal now.

Sally that sounds good. Years ago I used to make chili scoop it in a baking dish and pour cornbread batter on top and bake it. The  combo flavor to me was so good.OK I'm back to resting again--I'll take some meds first and relax with my cat. We had an argument last nite and she stayed away and came by this morning all cuddly.

Good morning, Cami. I am glad to see that you and your cat made up. I have a cuddly cat in morning too. She lays by me but when my alarm sounds, the cuddling begins.

Hi everyone I'm just posting here today (for now) I'm pretty quiet today--Yes my cat is laying right next to me and our dog is sitting next to me???

Never made the cookies, my DD forgot to buy something so we'll go for it tomorrow, but I heard these are good so we'll see, Joey had everything out too. So... he was kind of sad, but I really wasn't I didn't feel like acting all fun and happy--no real reason, just one of those days so I'm reading some but not really doing much else today. But when I come here I know I can say that I'm just not going good today. But it'll pass.

My cats are not cuddlers. My Copper is sitting next to me on the sofa now and Mac is on top of the laundry, LOL.

Camill, I am glad you n you kitty made up.

What cookies did I miss the post? I am in the mood for eating cookies just not making them. I wish we all could do a cookie exchange!

    Big Hugs to all

Hi hermit friends! Just popping in to see how everyone is. I'm having a lazy day today too. Just don't seem to feel like doing anything. So I'm sitting in the recliner watching the birds chow down on the bird seed I put out under the fir trees so the snow won't cover it.

My kitty is only a cuddler when he wants to be. I'll be in the recliner with the puter on my lap and he will want up. So I move the puter to the arm of the chair and he will curl up for hours on my lap. Problem is I usually can't sit still that long, so when I do get up, he "owns" the recliner and will be there several more hours and I am relegated to the love seat.

Hi hermits- my end of the weekend check with you. I had a lovely day today experiencing some music at a friends church up in the mountains nearby. Karen has been one of my greatest supporters during my medical issues the past year, and I was part of her church's prayer circle for a very long time, from the time my mother passed last year through bc treatment. I have been wanting to pay a visit to this very special church and today was the day.

The service featured all types of holiday music and included an adult choir, children's choir and my favorite, a bell choir. They sang together and separately, and there was also a pianist (my friend), an organist and lovely classical guitar player. I enjoyed singing some of the wonderful Xmas hymns and everyone was so nice and welcoming. It felt very good to be there.

The best part to me came afterwards. There was a special violin recital by a 12 year old boy who chose 4 classical pieces to play duets with a pianist on in honor of his grandmother, who was a cellist and passed from stomach cancer last Sept. This was to honor her memory, but also was clearly a way for him to express his feelings of loss over his grandmothers passing. The pieces he chose were so beautiful (not to mention complex for a 12 year old to play). I was trained on classical violin and flute, and know some of the pieces he played very well. He was just phenomenal. The final of his solos was about his feelings about the loss he had felt and in all the years of playing and listening to music, I don't think I have ever heard the raw feelings of grief come through in music as I did today. It was powerful.

I seem to think I will remember today for a long time to come!

I m so cold.  I've been Christmas shopping with my sister.  I would think it must be difficult to shop with me.  I obsess over getting the perfect gift.  I take a long time deciding.   This is my opinion not hers. My sister is wonderful.   She went with me to my appointments and all chemo sessions.

I went to my daughter's high school choir concert.  She is in the select choir.  The freshman, men's, and women's choirs performed as well.  They sang beautifully.  It was a good day.

Jazzy, the concert sounds amazing. Do you find time to play the violin and flute?

Dutch, it sounds like you had a good day too. I also take a long time deciding ... sometimes I have to walk away ... look for something else ... and then come back if I still want the item.

Oops it's later than I thought ... running off to send the grands off to school ... be back later.
