The Hermit Club

Cami- you are so right about some folks vs. others. Our GrammaB has been courageous enough to share her story here with us, and how she has come through things. She is a brave woman, like all the other women here.
I have a couple friends who have been blessed with good family still in tact, no serious illnesses in their family, no employment hardships, no problems with children, no elder care issues. I now find I have little to say to them. They have been some of the hardest to deal with during bc diagnosis and treatment. I prefer to talk to those who can "keep it real."
Slept in the morning and enjoying my first cup of java. Going to make some more banana bread today to bring to a vegetarian potluck tonight after a special winter solstice yoga class. One of my favorite holiday things to do.
The good news for today is I don't have to work at the client site hospital next Tuesday or Wed! I am going to wrap up my command center Tuesday midday, and be on call for any greater issues. I plan to just relax at home in my pjs and watch a bunch of movies. One of my favorite holiday things to do, and even more so after this go live and being more of a hermit now. Extra time off I was not planning. Yay!
Good luck to all those still doing their shopping!

Lilly55 ... sending you wishes for a speedy recovery ... what happened?
Jazzy, how wonderful to have a winter solstice celebration.
0 -
Oh Lily, what happened with you? Did something come on sudden like? Please let us know how you are doing., I am concerned for you.
0 -
Sally- yes, it is one of my FAVORITE things to do. One of my yoga teachers here has a restorative yoga practice where she has a dark room with candles in it, and we honor the change of seasons and invite "the light" back as we move past the shortest day of light in the year (today!) Then we gather for a vegetarian potluck. I have done yoga retreats with this teacher for years so sometimes it is a chance to see some of my fellow yogis I never see otherwise. I missed it last year with the medical stuff going on, so I feel very grateful to be able to go again this year.
Chocolate chip banana bread is almost done. I am going to go the gym soon for a swim and soak in the hot tub to loosen up my tired body.

So many beautiful views that many of u have.
All right Lily spill u'r guts. No wonder u were feeling so sad, u were sicker than u ever thought and din't know it. I'm so sorry, hopefully being on the mend will help u feel better all the way around. When u'r ready if u want share with us, it's kind of mind boggling what u've been thru.
Dutch that's always the way when u'r at the Drs. u don't feel as bad later on it gets worse--what u have to do is tell the Dr. is how bad it is normally and convince the Dr. They hear everything but we don't go thru everything so if there is pain they should know, I think--I've used ice, heat and aspercreme anything that helps some and of course my pain meds too. LOL Now something is wrong with my foot, not neuropathy but some strange hurt that feels like it 1/2 broken, but it isn't I limp when I walk, and when I put my feet up my one foot rolls with lotsa hurt--for a while now and more swollen, but I have LE so who knows. I don't even bother, it's so stupid

Lili- I just saw your post. I am really sorry to hear you have been in the hospital. Let us know what is going on when you can. Praying for you. We care here.
Cami- the foot issues can be from the AIs. They have totally screwed up my feet.

Woke up to 6" of new snow on the ground. Shoveled my porches and a path to the garage. Was tired after but no pain from doing it. More snow supposed to come tonight and on and off snow Sunday. I expect it will be white here still for Christmas.
Thanks Jazzy and cami, yes those were dark times, but with some good counseling and meds I managed to pull my self out of that dark hole. And a good thing too as I now have 4 beautiful grand daughters and a step grand daughter that I never would have met had I been successful back then!!
((((lily)))) so sorry to hear of your hospitalization! Sending you healing energy and prayers for a speedy recovery.
Jazzy how cool to have some extra time off!! Love the idea of a Solstice celebration!

LMAO.....Contrary to what I said in my last post, I have not been wearing a10lb aspirin. That should have been a 10lb apron.
0 -
I've been scratching my head over the 10lb aspirin!! LOL, auto correct?
0 -
Yes autocorrect. Lol, now you can stop scratching.

hey Hermies...thanks for the welcome..not sure what happened, but it just was gone....but got it back..
Teka....explains how I posted on the wrong thread...was meant for this one after seeing your ice storm picture, just saw it again....thought Iwas goofy, cause I do not frequent the other thread....I sleep fine most of the time, just a lousy night once in a while....
Cami....lots of cookies.....aching back....lol
Blondie 70........yes........hope your ok.....
Hope everyone is ok, and again.......thanks for the warm welcome.....hope it does not happen again, but it has before, and I see others have had it happen too...by the way.....got rid of auto-correct...with a name like "ducky" thought it a good idea.....that is actually my nickname....not just. Screen name, so it gets used quite often....on and off this website.......

Oh that's a cute nickname Ducky.
Lily I'm sure u feel worse in some ways because u didn't expect all of this to happen to u and u'r body is worn out so mentally u'r warn out. I'm so sorry u'r going thru all of this. U'r mind and body need time this is not easy for some it's not as bad we know that but some it's horrendous--and it will be a memory some day that u won't revisit, but it does leave u'r mind. I know for now that doesn't mean much and u do feel alone in this, but know that this pain ends, it does, I wish I could help u, like we all do, take any meds u need to help u thru this and know each day will make u stronger, it's amazing what are bodies can go thru and then recover from.

CCFW....I'm thinking we must be sharing a storm as I am in Wisconsin as well. You have more snow than I do.
Ducky......If you "lose it" again, we will warmly welcome you back again and again. I can imagine what autocorrect could do to your nickname.
Lily....I'm hoping that you continue to feel better and better.
Cami.. You're awesomeness in human form.
