Teka, that is so cute......is that your furry friend........adorable...;funny how they love to cover themselves up...........I miss Snickers....she left yesterday...........people are saying........get yourself a dog......good LORD,I'm 78, the animal would probably outlive me........ but she was a lot of company.......had her for 11 days.......my grandson said when she got home she peed in the house......never does that.....I said "revenge.........lol

But that is a cute picture......how old is he/she........

DuckyB you could give an older dog a home, they so often get overlooked.............and are soo grateful..x

    duckyb1 Member Posts: 9,646

Lily a few of my kids and grandkids have taken rescue dogs......actually the last 5 were including Snickers, the one I had with me....yes they are so grateful.....you can see it in their faces......they love to snuggle....I know she did.........

However I am 78, and who knows how much longer I have, then the poor dog would be in the same situation again......would not be fair to the animal.......although my kids would probably take it in to their homes......

My grandson said he would bring her back to stay with me if I wanted him to, but again, not fair to her to be sent from house to house......it would only confuse her, and she is so sweet.....wish I knew how to send pictures......I would, but dummy me has never learned how to do that........hope your feeling better today....hugs.

Lily I'm sorry for all u'r problems.

Teka u'r furbaby is so cute.

Ducky, my aunt was in her lte 70's and got a dog and she loved her, and Leslie (my DD) got to name her and they called her Ginger and she cuddled with my aunt all the time, Leslie too And my aunt was not an animal lover either, but when Ginger died my aunt cried for such a long time--I told her OMG u didn't cry for Uncle Joe (her husband) like this and she said I didn't love him.--She was a nut tho.

Oh Sally looking like one thing doesn't mean  it is that thing. A blown up rubber glove looks like a condom but it won't work like one, u silly.

I got my call today for my heart echo next week, so I said OK ok  ok and at first she just continued to talk, then this woman started LOLing so hard she said I never heard of anyone making fun of a heart echo--U've got to be kidding. It's hard to get humor there I guess.

I've been pretty busy today a lot of furnaces and electrical problems today --the weather is so cold and they need things done pronto--I took my first call at 5AM- I looked at the planning calendar and I saw someone would have time for her so I suggested get there quick, no one listens to me but they should. LOL

I am so tired all the time, I can't keep my eyes open, I'll be getting tests Sat. so I hope they know why and I can start to feel better.

Oh Teka I'm sorry, I thought it could be the weather or season but after I told the Dr. and he asked me questions he ordered more tests, he said (not me) something is going on. I hope it all my  flying organdas just resting for a while.

    Teka, smart warm kitty!

Jazzy, I'm in shut the door country, but it's still cold!  Love it!

Teka, my cat does that too.  I have a chair in my living room that has a down throw over it propped by pillows so he can crawl under and enjoy his toasty tent.

ducky, I understand where you are coming from re the pets.  Maybe you could look into fostering them on their way to their forever homes?

CC so totally on point! I've walked through he11 a few times in my life and here I am still.  I'm a tough old bird and will fight right up to the end!

Jazzy, spot on with the map!!  And Teka, he11 yes, bite me and I'll be back and eat you!!

Love the map Jazzy---I'm in the I can't feel my legs, which is pretty much the same I guess.

This is my first Good Morning, cuz everyone knows by now I go back to bed soon.

Just wanted to pop in and send my best and good thoughts to all.

Cami, great "echo" story.  I'll bet the scheduler was telling that one all day.  I hope the tests you are having will lead to a plan that makes you feel better.

Jazzy, the "Get Me Out of Here" pic's cat's expression is priceless and relatable to the BC situation as well as many others.

I get weighed at rads today.  They don't want me gaining or losing too much.  I have no idea what I wore when they weighed me last (a week or so before Christmas), what I had eaten, time of day, or if I kept my shoes on or off.  How can they compare?  I feel like Jazzy's "Get Me Out of Here" cat!  There were gaps between consult, simulation, and the start of rads because of the holidays.  I'm whining; thanks for giving me the place to worry and whine.

Are those of you in the horrible temps beginning to get some warming?  From Cami's post I gather that furnaces may be breaking from the cold.  Did anyone have that issue?  I hope not.

Hey Sally.....how much time have you got......this has been the week from hell.....I can't even begin to tell you all that happened.........this cold weather has reeked havoc on so many......even heat tape on your pipes is not making a diffeence.......I have started the past 4 days thawing out the pipe under my kitchen sink with a blow dryer........first coffee, then blow dryer......thank heavens my Keurig was full of water.........it is nuts....

My tires are going flat on my car from the cold, which affects the pressure in them.....sun is out, but not doing a damn thing......only good thing was the rainstorm a couple days ago melted all the friggin snow we had........small favors........suppose to go to mid 50's this weekend.......

I hope this is the end of this crap, cause I am too old for this shit, plus live alone, and hate to keep bother ing my kids.

My heat is on 72, and the house temp is 66.....figure that out.....and the heating system is just 3 years old, and one of the best made....my son said it might be the thermostat....he has someone coming to check it out....

Plus did a load of wash, and the water backed up (possible frozen sewer line), and came into my breakfastroom, 2 times this week.........got a sewer company for that........happened again today, so they are coming back.......this is insane......

    Bet your sorry you asked......LOL......hugs

No offense intended, but I heard some people on TV last night who live in Florida whining because it was only going up to 60 there...............Cut me a break..............

Feel sorry for the Orange Growers, but that is where it ends.......like I said............No offense intended, but right now I would give my next SS check for 60 degrees.......LOL

duckyb1, oh what you have been through.  I am not sorry I asked, but I am sorry for you.  I have never heard about tires going flat from the cold or the sewer backing up while doing laundry.  You must be ready to scream if you haven't already.  Please be very careful to stay warm.  It sounds like your son is checking on you which is very good.  I hope he does it often.

CC ...feel for you....know what it is like here....can't imagine your turmoil.....all I keep hoping is this is the end of it, and we got our winter punishment from Mother Nature early........

Sally.......screamed long ago....lol......my son, one of 6 kids is very attentive to me.....when all this began he was on a cruise, that is the Dad to the the grandson whose dog I had...........had he been home 90% of this would not have happened, but he was not here..........he got home Monday at 3:30 in the morning.....was due in at 11pm.....again weather related...but he called immediately, and was here yesterday checking everything out.

He doesn't know about todays fiasco.......spared him the bullshit....he is the owner of big Rehabilitation Facilities here in Philly, and after just getting back the last thing he needs is his whining mother with all her bullshit problems......he alredy called the heating guy......was not gonna hit him with this 1/2 hour later.........lol

Well hope your ok CC dealing with your mess, and all I can say is Hurry Spring........and Mother Nature if this is your idea of a joke.........WE ARE NOT LAUGHING............

CCFW, 14 degrees, your cut off, still seems frighteningly cold.  I guess I have lost the cold tolerance that I had when I lived in Chicago.

Sally......OMG.........Chicago...........2 of my grandsons live there and they said it is brutal......one said to me.....Nan it is so cold it hurts........

They have lived there for around 4/5 years.....they own  a Condo right overlooking Lake Michigan, and said the vapor coming off that is amazing........they both said they are getting tired of the cold and wind, and are looking for a warmer place...........one has an offer in Santa Barbara, Ca., and is considering moving.........the other had to go to NY for business on Monday morning.....said he sat on the runway at O'Hare for 2 1/2 hours because of engine trouble..............then the toilet froze, and could not be used, and he had to Poop......laughed at that..........then finally got to NY, and it is brutal there too, and had to sit on the runway for 3 hours because they could not get to a gate because of backed up air traffic......

    So I know about Chicago.......ugh......
