I have 2 recliners.....one regular, and one with heat and vibration......was a God send after my rotator cuff surgery, and the BC surgery...........one belonged to my husband who passed away 22 years ago, still like new.......and the other I bouught when I redid the house.........one is cloth, love it.........the one I use the most is leather.....in the family room.....

and yes, you southern people have some beautiful women....good looking men too.

II went to a Garth Brooks concert here in Philly, and I was 2 feet away from those gorgerous blue eyes........what a show that man can put on......still talk about it today, and will get tickets when he comes back on his new tour...........

My son and daughter-in-law have seen every country star in concert here too........and when my grandaughter got married 3 years ago.....the DJ played at her request...."Friends in Low Places", as a dedication to me...my favorite song.......we sang, shouted, and danced to it, and the place went nuts.............oh such memories......

    Ack!  Way behind once again!

Ducky, man sorry you had such a tough time!  Hope you can get the sewer mess straightened up quickly!

CCFW, I'm around in that area too, anything below 15°F and I won't go out unless I absolutely have to.  And if the wind is blowing.... it is really going to have to be something really important to make me go out.

Welcome MereMere!  I think I saw you somewhere else too?  I am playing with too many threads and get every one all mixed up.  Let alone trying to keep up!!  Cute pup!

    Hugs!

Gramma....guy came....cleaned the line 3 more times.;honestly I wonder if it ice build up...he said no, but it seems odd..same thing happened to my son last night when his wife was washing clothes...the water shot out of the water line, so he thinks it is an ice blockage in the line that takes out the wash water...............who knows, but for now it is ok......however afraid to run the damn washer cause once it drains, it will drain on the floor if it is clogged again........but heavens i have to wash clothes.

Getting a little better here....hopefully it will ease up ......it has been brutal....but not as bad as some other states......

    thanks for the concern.....;your a good friend...hugs

Hi hermits- catching up here into another busy week. Our command center is busy this week and the program folks I work for are working to gear up for the next and final system work to bring the last of the hospitals up in May. Too many conference calls today. I am debating between going swimming tonight or going to bed early (lets see which one wins). I am going in an hour later now, but still waking up early (sigh).

Cami- I am sorry that you are feeling so tired. Hopefully it is just the weather/cold that is making you tired, but good that they are checking you to make sure nothing more is going on. Fingers crossed.

Sally- are the scales going up or down? I had both happen during my medical issues. Let things normalize and just try to eat enough but not too much. Protein really helped me the most energy during all the treatment. It helps the the body to heal. I hope you are doing okay with the rads.

Ducky- danged if you have not had it all going wrong your way! This weather is just nuts. Is it thawing out anywhere yet?

I hope everyone else here is doing okay this week!

    camillegal Member Posts: 15,711

Teka the pilot has departed a couple of times. LOL

Oh Ducky u asked me about immodium etc. I have taken everything OTC to the max, then I went to scrips to the max, nothing works for me--I think it's just something that happened during all this and now I'm stuck with it. Just like we're all stuck with a lot of after SE's, they just are.

  • duckyb1
    duckyb1 Member Posts: 9,646

Yea Cam your right....lots of SE's for me......was great till I had to start Letrozole, then all hell broke loose......thought of stopping many times, but leary about taking the chance...I know I would feel better off this crap, but your damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

Cami, that Pilot is just my cup of tea.........Wow, he is almost as handsome as my husband, who was every girl's dream in HS..........but I nailed him.....Italian, tall, dark, and Wow......he walked away with every possible thing in his yearbook.....voted, best looking, best dressed, best athlete, and finally they said 3 was enough...........he also got Most likely to succeed, but they said 3 was enough.....and his sons are just as handsome as he was........now me, when I graduated, I got best dressed, class clown, and most likely to succeed......another gorgeous blonde got best looking........but 3 was the limit anyway..........

Have a great day....gonna see if I can book another flight with that "honey".......thanks Cami...LOL

Hi hermits- went to a nice yoga class tonight that felt good. All the Januaryites trying to get back into shape were there and the class was very full!

We are now coming off command center hours tomorrow, so I will go back to more normal hours and to my project center. There are good and bad aspects of this, as I will have a better schedule but don't like the people and the politics that go with the other location. One thing that has become very clear to me is that my life has been hard enough these past few years, I need to be mindful to not choose hard work with difficult people ever again.

Hope everyone has survived the week and is warming up and thawing out!

Jazzy I always thought that any work is good if it's with the right people.  I always hated my actual job, but for the most part I worked with marvelous people and as u all know there are 4 of us that have still stuck together even tho 3 have retired and we're still close. some days when I worked it was postal with all the crowds of actually mean people, but having my friends next to me made all the difference for us to make light of it. We still laugh about the SWAT team running in and holding everyone til they figured out who they wanted--that would be horrific if I didn't have my friends there to hold hands with I know, or the time the FBI came in and had all kinds of orders and scared the customers to death, but we looked at each other and laughed. So having the right people to work with means so much, every job is easier. When we would do evaluations we'd laugh thru the whole thing and we hated them. Sorry for going on and on about memory lane but I really know how nice a terribly difficult job can be with the right people surrounding u.

Cami- you are so right about having good people to work with making all the difference. As a consultants, sometimes we end up doing projects that are not good with people we don't like. The good part is we get paid and paid well by the hour no matter what!

The project I have been working on since late 2012 is with a long time/well known client to me. They have always had a certain amount of dysfunction, which I could deal with, but have become very verbally abusive and expect people to just work ALL THE TIME. I worked for them last in 2011, then got asked (if not begged) to come back to help late on this project in 2012. And I said yes because I needed to get back to work and even had the flexibility to work remote during my radiation treatment. But as this thing has gone on, it has become worse and worse.

The good news is I am done in June of this year on this contract, and now setting my sights on business development and finding new work in the new year that does fit. I don't work for a company, but for myself so it is up to me to make some better choices for myself on the next work I choose. I am going to a professional org breakfast in a few more weeks to jump start the process!

They changed, but so did I. Taking care of myself is paramount these days, and I will be looking next to find a situation that allows me to do that, but to do the rest as well. Work to live, not live to work, right?

I got some real clarity around some things this week, thanks for listening to my rant!

My bone scan is today.  The pain that prompted me to call the doctor is not as intense or constant as it was then.  I considered maybe canceling but those other pains get worse so I intend to go through with the scan.  I figure the painful areas will be normal and there will be something bad where I would have never suspected it.   I'm trying to stay calm.  I have so much going on this weekend that I don't know if getting results right away would be better or not.

  • jazzygirl
    jazzygirl Member Posts: 11,976

Dutchiris- keep us posted. Sometimes the antihormone meds make our bone ache. But if it is in one place, better to get it checked out.

I asked my MO last visit how you know when something may be from the med vs. more? He said "oh you will know, the pain will be constant and will get worse with time." I have also read bone mets are worse at night. I pay attention to every little ache and pain, many come and go. If yours don't, you need to check it out.

Fingers crossed here for you. Let us know what you hear as you want to share. We will be here on the other side of your tests and results.
