Nausea mostly today, ate some Cream of Wheat (too sweet) and half a baked potato (better). But it's an early night tonight, crashing after steroids wear off.

Mags- sorry to hear you are feeling the SEs again. I hope you can rest well tonight.

Teka- what a teeny little kitten. Cute though.

Sally- Are you having hot temps out in NV?

Went to yoga tonight. Lower back still bothering me some but it does feel better after yoga. Tomorrow we go see the BS for the 2nd part of the follow up. Hopefully she will be good with the mammo results, check me out via exam and send me on my way. Will let you know how that all goes.

    Sleep well hermits!

Jazzy, did you photograph that blue frog?  I did not know frogs came in blue.  I hope your exam goes well today.  The temps here have cooled since our run of high 90's and triple digits a week or so ago.  We are expecting low to mid 90's during the next 7 days.  I stay in during the heat of the day.

Sally- no, that frog photo came off FB. I did not know they came in blue either!

After spending a week in the muggy northeast, and cooler weather in RI last weekend, I am back to the heat of the summer here in the SW. Like you, I stay in during the heat of the day too.

Well it was an exciting night around here. DH has been having trouble with his sleep patterns, and his eating patterns, since BC invaded our lives. Far too often he eats a big lunch at work, then isn't hungry for dinner, and wakes up at 3 or 4 starving and hits the kitchen. So this morning when it happened, the big dog wanted to go outside, and once there started barking. DH goes to check and – SKUNK! He comes in the bedroom to tell me but I can smell it on him. He goes and showers, dresses for work and tells me to leave the dog outside and he will take care of him later. I'm lying there thinking, what if my cousin gets up – her olfactory senses being impaired – and lets him in? But I'm so exhausted I can't even move. Time passes, DH texts me that he will be home in a bit to take care of it. He comes home, mixes up a concoction, washes the dog, takes a shower, and back to work. But don't let the dog in because it won't all be gone – and we're expecting 100° temps today. He is in shade, there's a fan, food and water, but I hate leaving him out, and I'm physically incapable of handling either the strain or the smell. I'm just exhausted, still a bit shaky. Cousin made me scrambled eggs and English muffin, and that's staying put. But pretty rumbly.

Hi hermits- getting ready to head out shortly. My sister told me of her experience in the breast imaging center yesterday getting her follow up mammo done. There was a woman in the waiting room who seems really anxious and was going around asking everybody what they were there for, and what tests they were having done?

My sister (who is a doctor) and recognized right away what was going on, just said a routine mammo and ultrasound without engaging further. Another woman was queried who was having a biopsy and this woman attached herself to the woman and started drilling her with questions. Good lord! When I go into the imaging center, people are not all too conversational there, but that woman really needed someone there with her I think. My sister said she is going to follow up with the imaging center to let them know what went on. She got called back around the time this was happening and just left afterwards.

I hope my experience in the BS waiting room is non eventful today!

All was good with the BS today. She told me I look very healthy too. That will be it for the bc visits for another six months.

Thanks for being here with me through this follow up!

Jazzy, so happy for your good doc visit.

Mags, hope the sleep helped with any side effects you are having.

Mags- sorry to hear the GI SEs are back. Glad you were able to rest. Your body needs that to be able to work through this stuff. Mac and cheese sounds like it is very do-able food for you during treatment.

Went to a much needed post travel massage late this afternoon. Christine worked her magic to get the kinks out of my back, feet and hips. I was far more sore than I realized, but feel better now.

I hope everyone else has had a good Friday. Into the weekend we go. Anyone have anything you are looking forward to doing (even if it's relaxing in the back yard?)

Teka- how fun! We have lots of them here in NM. That is about the going rate too. Maybe you will go some day too?

Let us know how it goes. Have DD post pics for you here!

Hi girls---I'been quiet today--a little busy, very tired and my boss came by with my Starbucks coffee.

    Mags glad u'r eating.

Jazzy great news, everytime I go to any tests or dr. I talk to everyone, not complaining or scared I'll talk about the weather then before I know it everyone in the room is talking, I can't help myself I just talk a lot and I'm not nervous. One time my Dr. asked me if I knew everyone everyplace I go, I actually do a lot but not always. I'm a miserable patient cuz I talk thru everything and say nothing. Oh well

I'll be busy tomorrow so I probably won't be on much except for morning and I hope it doesn't rain otherwise it's all called off. sigh

Hi hermits- jazzy is going to go play some jazz at the morning jazz workshop jam session. First time in a long time.

    Wishing everyone a good day!

Jazzy, what do you play? You know I love jazz.

Big D hit this morning. Imodium taken. I hate day 5.

Mags- I play four instruments in total, the flute, the alto sax, soprano sax, and the violin. I was classically trained as a young person on the flute and then violin, and played in many community orchestras and through college/grad school orchestra's too. When I moved to NM in the mid 1990's, I discovered there is a huge jazz community here (one of the best for a small city anywhere in the US) and made a switch to playing jazz flute and then picked up the horns. Been dabbling too with some electric violin with some salsa music too.

The music got parked for the most part in 2012 when the health problems began. With the work contract I was on, and coming through the bc and other things, I told myself I would get back to playing this summer. And now I have. Many things have just had to return with time but I accepted that and have just continues to add things back when the time was right. I sometimes get asked to play gigs in groups, which is fun when you have the time. I plan to keep this going again.

It was great to see so many familiar faces and feel so welcomed back into my music community. I had a great time today and will keep going on Saturday's from now on as I am able.

This is where my name Jazzygirl comes from!

Mags- and sorry about the D returning. Did the doctor ever give you anything for this after last time? I know you are in the throes of it now. Hoping you are on the other side of the worst of this soon. It just sucks.

Doc said Imodium so Imodium it is. Big D under control. Replaced with Big P(ain in the gut). I have a rx for sublingual med for abdominal pain but doesn't get it all. Hot water bottle now.

Bright note: cousin took pity, made homemade tapioca pudding. Yum.

Hey great news! I actually made it out of the bedroom and into my recliner! That is a major accomplishment today! I think my crew is going to ply me with steak and potato tonight, they seem to think I need protein or something.

So I come out to the den only to find that DH has fallen asleep watching Sharknado. And has control of the remote, even asleep.

Teka- I love the photos! What a cool one too up through the envelope from the inside too. Looks like they had a good day for it.

I hope you get to go next, me thinks you are ready for the adventure!

Thanks for sharing the pics with us! Happy

Mags- steak and potatoes sound good for dinner. All my docs told me lots of protein when going through surgeries, treatment, etc. Your body needs it to help with all the healing that goes on.

Blondie- how are you feeling these days girlfriend? Better since you came off the chemo?

      1. Thanks for asking jazzy, still having trouble breathing as usual,  but other than that I am good, glad I am off it.
