Mini--i would change that in a heartbeat...its one of my favorite word BUT....for my age i just think its a little tacky.....when i see older floks wearing those things i say grrrrrr.20 yrs ago i would tell komen exactly where to go....with all the pink shit too!!!I think you get the message with FOCKTOBER..AND if they dont understand it they have no clue about the entire desease.....

just saw this on another thread.A sista saw a lady wearing a tee shirt sayin FREINDS DONT LET FRIENDS GO THROUGH CANCER ALONE....May not be for focktober but its a great idea and probably a good sell.

Shells, Sure, no problem. You might think about wording it "You're a cancer survivor when you die of something else." Seems a little less awkward to me.

Ok so I cannot upload photo. But..........tractor trailer cab on highway was the Color of peptobismol pink. Said on side of cab proceeds go to breast cancer. Back cab window had names of Bc ladies.....

Love this thread! Thanks all! I am not t-shirt type. Plan to stick Think B4 You Pink labels on offensive pink products. Not sure which poster suggested this? She had a great slogan.
We have a bunch of old labels at work not used anymore hehehe. Wonder if i can get arrested for this? Good publicity?

put that on the front, and the back could say "CANCER, YOU MESSED WITH THE WRONG BITCH".........................or use either one, on the front.

I wore my "Cancer, you picked the wrong bitch" all day today. I have it in dark red and black lettering so people actually have to look up close at it. I had several people ask me what type of cancer I had. Why? Of course, I told them. I got a ton of compliments on it. The radiology group thought it was the funniest shirt they had ever seen.

I'm engouraging everyone to order what they want. I keep questioning every desision. if paypal had worked my decision whould have been done. Ergo, i'm questioning the decision. I want notice, I want shock value, I want people to stop me and question. The shirts are to educate
Please, those here as we get closer to foctober---post the most recent stats, money towards research. Then if any of us are stopped for questions we have the answers. Komens pie chart from 2010 doesn't do it.
If any has payed attention to what I wrote about copyright law and trademark. All we need is a mission statement. The way I read it is, it has to be published to protect the copyright. It's cheap. I'll absorb the cost. Publish it the local town news.
But since I went through a patent process before, one of the things you have to do is get anyone who has heard you speak of it to sign a release of claim form. At this point----couldn't be done---it's viral.
So, let's go with viral, at this point, I asked that PINKTOBER REVOLUTION be put on whatever, I already knew based on pasted experience, the battle and war were lost. WHO CARES---I don't- The reason for asking that those two words were somewhere on whatever---were that we knew that we were of like mind. Since someone will try to find the source----to our advantage------if we have a short simple statement-------That will also go viral. i.e we want a cure. The problem is if we don't make it viral, is someome will try to trademark or copyright. The faster we can make it viral. the better the outcome of prevention of someone like Komen who trademarked "find a cure". Once viral --they can't---cool-------send words to anyone you know-------blast it----------best thing to prevent copyright and trrademark ---prevention of The words PINKTOCBER REVOLUTION and GET A CURE-----You can add whatever , but send it to many-- the laws covering T&C by spreading it so far and wide that the laws coveringT&C are blown away.

I'm such a sucker. A professor at work has a wife who had BC last year and has spent all this year training for a 3-day. He sent out an email to support her with a donation. He is really nice and I don't know her at all. I wrote her a check for $20. I also emailed him back that I was supporting her and not Komen. Wonder if he'll ask why not?
It's really too bad that we have to deal with this. They do give more to research than any other group, but because they are so big and take in so much money. Percentage wise it is not what we would like, but they still give millions of dollars to research. What we really want is for them to designate a higher percentage to research and less to awareness, right? Even another 10% would mean lots more toward research. We could have a writing campaign to request a change in their fund distribution policies.

MINI- I agree in thought changing o to u but even though Fuck is in the lexicon i.e has to be in the word usuage for so many years before it gets into the dictionary. Fuck is in the dictionary, but has not passed ordinary use. There are laws that someome can get arrested for the use of the word. Doesen't matter if it's passed the scrutiny of lexicon and entry into the dictionary. Cluck'em

I saw someone whering the friends dont let friends go through cancer alone.
I posted that thing about pinktober on my fb. Think i have alienated any friends i may have left.
I think everyone shouldbeaware ofbc now. I really wish they had made me more aware ofbreast density and therefore mammograms werent worth crap.
My work people are doing some video to celebrate bcsurvivors. Some pink hands thing. I saw some of them on youtube. There is nothing about bc that makes me want to dance.0 -

I posted Shells' comments about Pinktober on FB and have had lots of positive comments from friends. Of course, I only have about 70 friends, but one of them has asked permission to copy and post on her own page, so of course I said yes. I don't think I used the term "Pinktober Revolution" but I will do so! I agree with SAS that if it's viral and in common usage, it will be much more difficult for someone else to claim T&C.
