Today is a great day, i received a t/c frm my MO and he informed me that other than the mets to my sternum i have no other cancer in my body.... i do however have inflamed lymph nodes around the sternum area, he said that the radiaton that i will be starting next week will zap those... I will then have my hystorectomy on feb 7th and then start HT. I am ready to get this going! dr was very happy with scans. I may actually sleep tonight, 4 dys of waiting was the hardest.... thanks for all the prayers and support, hugs !!

Katie Yay and get a good night's rest. Funny the way we can say yay to things like that. I'm always so grateful for the things I can do. Glad the MO has a solid plan in place. I will be keeping you in my thoughts. RADs have always kicked my behind worse than any chemotherapy.

Hello everyone. I was diagnosed Sept 19, 2013 with IDC grade 2, positive lymphnodes, stage VI (3 liver mets). HER2+. Not what I was expecting at age 32. I have 3 young children ages 4, 8 and 10. I'm about as scared as I can be. I started treatment on Oct 19th. Weekly taxol and perjeta and herceptin every 3 weeks. On my third taxol treatment I had a bad anaphylaxis reaction so that was it for taxol. I'm now doing taxotere, Herceptin and perjeta every 3 weeks and that seems to be going well. I had my first follow up CT last Friday (which resulted in another anaphylaxis reaction to the iodine contrast). We got the scan finished though. Good news is that all my lymph nodes have resolved. My breast mass has gone from 5cm by 6 cm to 2.5cm. 2 of my liver lesions have shrunk a bit and one has remained stable. All good news so far. Thanks for letting me chat!

I was also on taxitere and just recently got off because my scans and blood work were very good. I still receive treatment of projeta and herceptin every 3 weeks. Projeta was just approved almost 2 years ago and is wonderful! There's hope. Taxitere made me nauseous and my hair and nails were falling off.

hi ladies!!! I have had three of my ten scheduled rads and when I sneezed this morning it didn't hurt, it was the first pain free sneeze that i have had in a year and a half!! (i almost went in the kitchen to snort some pepper to see if i could make myself sneeze again, hehe). I am really hoping after my 10 sessions that i have a lot of releif and I will be albe to do more chores that i can now. My hystorectomy is scheduled for 2/7 then i start HT a coule weeks after. I am surious how will I feel? huh, we will see. Did anyone else here have positive nodes after mets diagnosis? mine are in my chest? if dr said they will get zapped but if they dont get all of them does the HT work on the nodes?? i have apt with oncology on the 31st just surious if anyone else has had this ?? Kate1974 for me once I got down to just by live life was good. Even now I am on target therapy and still pretty good on most days.

I have to take it while I can get it. Just wanted to share that my tumor markers from yesterday continue to be in the normal range & even went a little lower. I'm doing a little happy dance!0 -

I have not checked in for a while. Just letting you all know that I am fine and I am so glad you guys are okay. Hello to all the new faces. I am so disturbed that there are so many of us...young, old and each day more and more. I feel like I am old...lol...thoughts like this make me smile...my kids always talk about all the things they will get to do when they are "old" like me.
Last scan in Dec 2013 -NED. :^) I still work full time...keep your fingers crossed I have interview for supervisor position tomorrow. I sometimes feel like things are "normal". Life is such a trip. Job is going well. Kids and spouse are wonderful. Life is great right? Does anyone else feel like this? What should it feel like to be Stage 4? I love you all more than I can express. Thank you for your strength. I am here for you as well even if my visits are few and far between.

I'll be 40 soon, but I'm still 39, and was diagnosed in Nov of 2013 with a 6cm lump, stage IV mets cancer.

Kuchenhexe we're close in age I turn forty in April. I was diagnosed at 37. Stage IV can be scary, but plenty of us are here defeating our odds. This is a great place to find info and hope. You can vent too. We'll listen and we get it too. Sorry you had to join us, but I am so glad you found us. Hope to see your posts floating around here.

Thanks, fujiimam. You might see more of me being active when I'm not in the middle of my "so exhausted" part of my Taxol week. It might not shine at the moment, but I'm pretty confident and zen about being the victor in this battle, and kicking this back to the curb where it belongs. Thanks for the welcome.

Kuchenhexe & fujimama - I'll be turning 40 in October of this year as well. Will we have to start a ladies in their 40's thread or will we be able to still hang out here with the thirty-somethings? lol!
Hope everyone is doing well! I'm teaching 11 classes which is a crazy schedule; so, I'm not getting on here very often, but I think of everyone all the time.

NBNOTES- I know you're not asking me.... but I think it would be a great idea to still stay here and hang with us 30s ladies becux those that were dx in their 30s will be able to offer us advice on how to cope and keep on living life, etc... Nobody is getting kicked out because they got older... Heck I think all of us here want to get older...Hana
But ALSO create a thread for ladies in their 40s and ask the mods to pin it to the top like this thread. I think it would great to have both threads that way if some women are in their 40s and feel more comfortable posting in that thread... They have options! No one should be made to feel uncomfortable .
That's why I have only went to two support meetings and never went back becuz I was the youngest one there and felt so out of place... So that's why I stick to strictly online support

Hi Ladies! So glad to have stumbled upon this thread. I think I may be in stage 4 denial. I have very recently had a local recurrence (to the lymph nodes) and was just told today that it feels like it's spread to the skin. I am refusing to get a biopsy because it won't change my upcoming treatment plan (TDM1- does anyone have any experience with this???) and I just can't take anymore bad news right now. So sad there are so many of us here. I am 34- was 32 at original DX. I have a 3 year old boy.

Hi Kasi...I guess we joined here around the same time in 2011. Can't believe its been almost 3 years already!
Anyone have any advice on new jobs and disclosing health info. I only ask bcs I have treatment every 3 weeks and occasional appts. I am on IntermitFMLA just to cover appts and stuff but have always worked full time. Any advise? I am in negotiating salary stage but feel its appropriate to disclose. Not sure though...

(((((Kelly)))))) sadly there are so many of us, you are right.. Takes a bit time to digest the news.. Just focus on your daily plans of treatment & personal life.. It will not take long to adapt to the new normal, as we call it, still it might be a good idea to seek help from a psychiatrist for medical & therapy support.. They are existing for times as these.
Reading relevant threads on the boards will help you feel as an active member of this medical journey, as so many experiences are shared..
