Hey Bobo. I have two tanks and two sport bras that I can send. All were given to me so lightly used. None are pretty. Utilitarian. I never wore the bras and used the tanks once or twice. They are those compression ones that M loves. Band size is 36-38. Should help you get by until you figure out what you like.

I went shopping on Black Friday once - and never ever again. It was a nightmare. Every space in the parking lot was full, people were crammed into the store aisles. People carried big packages which bumped everyone. Arrrrgh! We only shop for the grandchildren and each other, so that really helps a lot. We stopped buying for adults when several people were having money problems.

Never, ever, do Black Friday! I just can't deal with the crowds. I do a lot of online shopping. Adults in the family don't exchange presents, we just buy for the kids. For my friends here I make/bake things.

bobo, if you think you want a neck pillow, I will send you mine. I blew it up once but never used it. A quick alcohol wipe will clean it up and you won't need to buy one. I got it thinking I would be sleeping in the recliner. Slept in my bed right away so never needed it.

Laughing because our ND is educating our M about Black Friday! As if M needs to know what Black Friday is. I think we shouldn't have told her!

I too would pay money to stay away. We don't go in much for electronics, and that is the big draw on Black Friday. We still have the television DLLP and I carried home from a Union Square electronics store (in NY) -- no box, it was a floor model -- and it is the OPPOSITE of flat screen. The cable guy just gawks at it when he comes to hook it up.

I love how we have a new friend on our site who needed Marika advice! Welcome! That just shows we are going in the right direction. :) And I like how gtGirl dropped in when she really needed us, even if only briefly. I think that's fine. She will come back if she needs us.

Z, that is so sweet about the bras. Only if you happen to be at the post office. Thrilled that you are halfway through almost. Glad you are going to your sister's -- that should take some pressure off. I bet you will love to watch the baby eat her Thanksgiving dinner! I love to watch our princess eat dinner. Thinking about you right now since your rads are about to start. It must be difficult to get yourself organized so early! In the bag. Wait. Is there a time change? Sh1tballs. Have I been wrong this whole time?

Birdie, they do want a front-close bra for the TEs after the bandages come off. I guess they just want them to stay in the basic position. But I believe it's not 24 hours. After the exchange, it's 24 hours for four weeks. Yikes. I am going to want an extra-comfy bra for that one. You guys are so sweet to advise me. M, can't find your PM -- but maybe it's on my real email.

Oh! Have not told you: my mother and her two sisters are descending on me today! After I told my mom about sx, she called and said they wanted to come see me. I said, why not come Monday? It's my brother's birthday. I thought it could take some of the heat off. So we're going to dinner for his birthday. Have presents ready. I know it's going to be gruesome, though, with them hugging me to feel my real boobs for the last time. Don't think me cynical. I speak from experience.

Trying to follow all your good advice. Have ear ache, which I have never had. Beer me! Oh, wait. I can't have a beer. I'm under the weather. Full day of teaching and meetings, then the three sisters. Oh! Tomorrow we are getting "married" -- signing up as partners -- at the City Hall so DLLP can be sure to visit me in the hospital. M, forgot to explain that to you. It's like getting married in the city. Our little town acknowledges gay families. But you have to have the city hall and the papers. I am going to wear that purple dress -- remember it?

Can't believe it's so cold by all of you. Fifties or sixties at night here. Sometimes muggy during the days!

I'm alive! Not necessarily well but alive.

.I have a riddle for you. How do you know when a MX patient drank too much wine ? When she wakes up after a baby shower and can't remember where she left her foobs. I do not drink wine, because it kicks my @ss, but to be "sociable" I consumed 3 glasses on Sat with our guests, on Sun morning I couldn't remember where I had flung those bad boys. Evidently I was more coherent that I thought because I did find them tucked neatly in their little boxes.

Babies, BBQ and Beer is in the books, and was a great success if I must say so myself. 68 people converged on my house promptly at 2pm and they stayed, a bit beyond the 4pm end time, but that was okay. (skip over this part Bobo) We smoked 8 pork shoulders, about 65lbs of meat, it is all but gone, 2 large pans of mac & cheese, gone. 2 pans of baked beans, gone. Cole slaw, we have some leftover, 1 gallon of BBQ sauce, gone. 2 large veggie and fruit trays, gone. I also did a hot dog bar for the children it was wiped out too. The Weasels mom came through in a big way or she found people to come through for her, meat, keg of beer, paper products, cake, and party favors were all provided. DS1 and his GF surprised us all by finding someone to make an armadillo cake, it is adorable, little mom to be will not allow us to cut it, so it will be frozen in whole and when the baby makes her debut we will have it as her birth day cake. I'm exhausted, in pain I foolishly moved a rabbit lawn fixture who weighs as much as me, alone and killed my back, but my house and yard has never been in better condition.

Thanksgiving is Thursday! eeeekkkkkk. I'm not prepared, have no idea if we are going to spend the day away with the OGs extended family or if we are staying home and I will cook...Might better deal with that today. No Black Friday shopping for me, never had a desired to wake up at the butt crack of dawn to venture out with a bunch of deal hungry shoppers.

Bobo everyone has been giving you good advice so I will ditto everything they have said. I need a recon education, don't understand TE, fills and all that stuff, guess I need to venture out into other threads beside this one.

Zills thanks for the good mornings. I don't feel so left out. LOL Still reading just can't post without borrowing a computer with the correct operating system..

Visited the wonderful MO last Wed. I'm okay, just a checkup. He is pushing for me to see a PS, not for recon but to try to straighten out some scar issues, maybe after Feb. maybe not. OG saw the hand surgeon also on Wed, waiting on insurance approval for his surgery, maybe before Christmas, I hope.

HUGS to everyone. Be back when I can.

    Thanks all ,

I am thinking I may just try and go flat . I like the Marika billowy patterned tops over leggings and layered over a cami . So the site information you all have provided has been helpful. For those of you in the US I have found some good prices at TJ Maxx but they are not as good as the Zulily site. I purchased some foobs from Mary. Thus far I have not gone to be fitted for prosthetics still not healed enough from the 10/22 BMX and all I hear is how heavy and uncomfortable they are .

Thank you for the sand man! Wintery mix tomorrow.

Bobo. You have been on time each morning. The baby is the one that hasn't adjusted yet! to the time change. She's up at 5:30 and her brother not long afterward. Today they were playing in her room and he had to go pee. Next I hear "Mommy I dropped her pacifier in the toilet. It's ok I got it out." This was before 6:00 am. We are out the door by 7.

I was looking for gtgirl's post and got on the wrong page. End of Oct, not Nov. Anyway there's someone that had BMX and TEs with just Tylenol. You have to take them on time in the beginning. I love tramadol. It was the only thing that worked on my headaches.

The post office is two blocks from boy's school. I have to get stamps for those d@mn Christmas cards. They didn't imprint them so I'm writing on every one! I will get them in the mail before Thursday.

I was a crazy Black Friday shopper. My gf and I already got up to be at work at o'dark hundred so it's no big deal. We can't sleep in and apparently neither can my kids! We would be finished shopping, have a sit down breakfast and be home by 8 or 9. Never had problems with crowds or irate people.

Only one year did I stand in line for a tv. I had lusted after one for a year and they had a deal I couldn't pass up. This was bc (before children). I drove a Mini and I measured to make sure it would fit. I forgot to allow room for packing materials. I had to unpack it in the parking lot to get it to fit. This was on the bad side of town. No one bothered me but no one offered to help.

Not sure what I'm able to do this year. Not sure if I have rads on Friday. Do know I'll have kids all day.

FYI. Target has scarves on sale for $5 if anyone is looking to camaflouge their chest. Pretty colors.

Gramwe, sounds like the shower was a great success! I'll bet you are glad that is done and done! I see my MO tomorrow at 2:30. I assume it will be my last visit with him. I do want him to advise me if my scars are moving enough across my chest.

I'll tell you fiaranch1, I am totally happy going everywhere flat! I have silicon foobs and contact foobs (too soon to wear those yet) but flat is much more comfy for me. I am hoping that if I feel the need for foobs, the contact ones will feel better than the silicon ones.

Zills, so glad you are already 1/2 way done with the rads. And thanks for the tip re Target. Since I will be up in town for MO tomorrow, I'll drop into Target and check them out. Can't have too many scarves! ;)

LOL Spookie! Sure is the truth though! Still very cold and clear here, the clear part is what is keeping it so cold.

Spookiesmom, that is pure evil :)

Oooooo a granwe visit!!! it's a great day :) Great update Granwe.. but let me get this straight.. you have an armadillo in your freezer? Is it like the cake in Steel Magnolias??? How can you not know whether you have to cook Thanksgiving dinner or not??? I am a planner, I would not be capable of slapping together something last minute such as a Thanksgiving dinner without being frazzled beyond imagination. That was quite the spread you put on.. sounded delicious!! I am glad mommy weasel stepped up! Keeping fingers crossed that OG gets cleared for surgery before xmas.

Bobogirl are your aunts like your mom? Why did I think your brother already had his birthday? I hope the visit goes over well and you aren't groped too badly.. might want to utilize this time to lay down some ground rules for after your surgery. I did for the first time in my life and it worked wonders... honestly. It's not only your physical well being that has to be looked after, its your mental too.

Zils, please do not tell me he popped the pacifier in her mouth afterwards... yuk! Are we up to 13 now??? You'll be halfway before Thanksgiving.. don't you wish you didn't have to take weekends off???

Just caught up on this page.. my gosh we're on Page 104! Hopefully catch up on the rest later :)

    Good Morning everyone!

Oh gramwe, I miss you so much, and your posts! It is so great to see you!

I am so thrilled that all went so well for the shower. I hope there were lots of wonderful presents for our girl to open! I need a size update for the baby, when you're able. I feel like we've lost track.

You blow me away every time, with how you always come through with all that cooking and preparation. I must say I am impressed that the Weasel's Mom "came to the party" so to speak. I hesitate to ask if the Weasel contributed anything?

Good grief, gramwe, did you have to move that rabbit? We have a Dragon that Colin loves, it needs to be moved too, but I have managed to resist, and hope it just gets swallowed up by the new growth in the garden bed where it sits. It weighs a ton!

I don't know anything about recon either, gramwe, but I am willing to learn for Bobo!

Hugs to you, love to the OG...M x

Hi Bobo, I sent the info on the bras to your email. I think it is great that Zills has bras for you. At least you'll have something to start with. My main concern is that you don't want to be fitted, so you're going to be taking pot luck with where the tender spots are. Anyway, take a look at the ones I sent.

Try to get some garlic into you for the earache!

Oh, how I would love to be a fly on the wall at your house. Three of them all scrutinizing your boobs, how funny! I would most definitely use this time to lay down some ground rules. Good Luck with it all! How is your brother doing? Still milking it? Happy Birthday to him!

Spookiesmom, I love that Sandman, he suits where I am right now!

Hi Fiaranch! I am going to check out your site too! How are you doing?

Zills, the pacifier in the toilet was so funny, had to tell Colin!

The tylenol you are speaking of Zills is similar to what I was talking about with the paracetamol that Bobo can't take. If used properly, these medications work really well with no Se's.

I know this sounds weird, but the other thing I am a great believer in is going in to these situations with "intent". As silly as it may sound, I disengaged from my right boob the night before surgery, by actually speaking to it. I said "You've let me down you have to go!"

I know you may think I am mad, or just plain stupid, but it actually worked for me. I also told myself I would be pain free, and that I would "sail" through this surgery. This was exactly what my surgeon had told me. He said that he expected me to "sail" through without any issues at all. I have since read that some believe that the outcome is often decided by the "intent" that you express, going into the surgery. I have always been interested in the alternative side of meditation and affirmation, it sure can't hurt! M x

Glad to hear gtgirl is doing ok!

    M. you would love Black Friday I think.. there is also a Cyber Monday. I have never participated in an early morning Black Friday session, nor do I ever plan to. .. I join the ranks of I would pay more for something just to avoid all that. My SIL lives for it.. she gets a Black Friday shirt and she is out at midnight and won't get back home until late afternoon. I'd rather be shot than participate in that. My nephew and his GF (they are 21) also love BF. it seems people will either love or hate it. Me... I do BF via the internet :) I think I currently have close to 2000 emails all with "Black Friday" in the subject line.. it's insane.

Hi Fiaranch1, nice to meet you :)

Something tells me when M announces the 50% off sale, we will end up crashing the Marika website lol. I STILL don't have my stuff :(

Going to my mom's on Thanksgiving, just a small get together. Like Zils, we will also cook a turkey over the weekend just Joe and I.. I love turkey sandwiches and I usually make a soup too.

GrammaB, last Friday I had 18 items in my Zulilly cart and I had to close the browser.. I figured I'd wait until the weekend to get a full weekend of free shipping and luckily I forgot all about it, so I spared myself from another spree.

Pasta on the coffee table... I am full but don't have the heart to tell Joe I am not hungry. Me and 2 other co-workers got our fav pizza... fresh mozzarella, prosciutto and arugula with a balsamic glaze... SO SO good.. I would love to duplicate the glaze somehow.

    Laters :)

I was groped badly. I think I will leave it at that for now.

Granwe! I knew your party would be a huge success! It was much bigger than I thought. You are a rockstar, doing all that cooking! Laughing because M chastised you for moving that rabbit. How are you feeling? I too hope you do not have to cook Thanksgiving. Please keep us posted about the OG's sx.

Z, so glad I am on time! That story about the toilet is eerily familiar. I have the kids all day Friday too. I don't want to even think that far in advance.

Idesim, your pizza sounds terrific! Any pudding pies lately? Joe is fast becoming Man of the Year in my book. I have been hearing nothing but good reports lately.

Tomorrow is the City Hall wedding. It's a no-brainer: no flowers, nothing. And then we'll go to the school for stone soup. And then Wednesday I've got to do the Thanksgiving shopping. I'm sure no one else is going grocery shopping that day..

Spookie, your snow men made me pee! Your are really rubbing it in! You are so naughty. A welcome addition to our band of naughties.

M, agree with your thoughts on 'intent.' I too am not very attached to this sx. I really have been expecting it for years. I don't define myself by my (enormous, big as Sofia Vergara's) breasts. I don't feel any regret when I think about the sx. A little worried about the specifics of recon, yes, but I don't feel regrets.

Granwe, I am fast becoming a recon expert, so fire any Qs my way, if you like. I can at least answer about what's going to happen with me. Does your sx to deal with the scarring sound good to you? I hope it is a good thing. I know you had some issues with your BS.

I am the starter of the December 2013 surgeries thread, and we've had an explosion of sisters join us overnight! Wow. It's really gobsmacking. It's unreal to see our December sisters come together and recognize they have sx on the same day and offer to wait with one another.

I reply to myself. Z, you love Tramadol? That's excellent! Score one for Tramadol! Really am going to try to have good intentions as I go into sx. But also want to take my best shot at managing pain the old fashioned way... :)

Oh, p.s. I am cooking the entire Thanksgiving dinner.

Fiaranch1, I'm not sure if you've read past posts in this thread.. but most of us went on a Marika shopping frenzy. I am still waiting for my goodies to arrive!

Off to bed, sweet dreams everybody... hope you get some sleep Ndgirl and I hope you have a wonderful day M! XO

I am back from doing errands in town. I am absolutely exhausted. I took Dex for a walk before I went, but he wanted to come home, so only covered a couple of Km. He's the strangest dog, I have never had one like him before. I covered far more ground in town, on my own!

    YOU WON"T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED!!!!!

Covered lots of distance in town doing stuff for Colin and banking. I went into a shop and was looking through a rack of clothes. There was a woman standing beside me flicking through the hangers on the other side. She turns to me, and I kid you not, says " YOU'VE, got no idea how hard it is to find clothes, when you only have one breast!!!!" I turned to her and start to laugh because I am expecting to see someone I know from one of the BC groups, but no, she's not familiar and she's dead serious! She sniffs, and gives me the once over, and says, "I'd love to be able to wear something like that!"

I say to her, "Well, as a matter of fact, I do know exactly what it is like trying to find clothes when you only have one breast! I am a Uni too!" ( I can't believe I am having this conversation!)

She then goes on to say that I must have been this way for a very long time, and I tell her, about 11 months, she's been a Uni for 7 years! "OMG," I say, And you still can't find anything to wear?

Tomorrow I am going to the Waratahs BC group Christmas Luncheon. I had to wrap a $5.00 Kris Kringle to give to Santa. I also have to write the advertising and organize the break up party for the Pink Ladies for next week. This is all from the woman who said she'd never make BC a hobby! Hmm!

I never made it to a December 2012 thread! But I did make contact with lots who were around the same time as me.

I am constantly amazed by the sheer numbers of women and some men who are affected too. No one will ever be able to say that they don't know someone directly, it is that close now. Everyone knows someone. I saw the numbers as 1 in 8 now. When I was Dx last year they said 1 in 9.

I can't see anything either ldesim.

gB, I can't believe how much you've bought, but I bet you had fun!

Two new names HVV, and Undercat, so sorry you both have to be here, But very glad you found us.

HVV if you go back to the very beginning of this thread, you'll see the posts about how to prepare for the surgery. There isn't a huge amount that you need for the Hospital, but my main tip is to take throat lozenges. My throat was so dry and sore from the breathing tube, but I was so hungry when I woke up I would have given anything for a Fisherman's Friend!

It is mainly the prep at home that you need to get organized, like button front pj's and slippery satin pants to help you getting up. Try to have plenty of frozen meals, and before you go to Hospital it is a good idea to put things that are normally in a high cupboard, or high shelf in the pantry, down on the bench so you don't need to reach. I see you are having axillary clearance, so reaching up will likely be a bit of an issue for you. I swear by my "V" pillow, it has been like my "baby blankie" I am still using it almost 11 months after surgery. I am sure the others will come in and give you more tips. In the meantime, ask anything!

Ariom, I posted a couple of times on the Aug 2013 Surgery thread, but as many were going on to more treatment that I wasn't, I've felt more at home here with my flat sisters!

The civil ceremony is a legal thing. It is a legal marriage ceremony. It gives rights of a spouse to both people in regards to inheritance and medical decisions/visitation. Actually my own parents were married in a civil ceremony in 1942 before my dad went off to war. For many various reasons people do the civil ceremony, but later have a wedding to celebrate with friends and family their joining together for the rest of their lives.

    Thanks for that explanation gB.

I think I just chatted with the Aussie girls on their thread when I first came here. I did find a few who were having surgery at the same time, and have kept in touch with some of them.

I too have felt very comfortable her with this group!
