Yay Colin and happy belated birthday.

Poor Bobo. Cooking dinner just for your tiny house? Not your family? Sounds like you and Granwe will be shopping at the same time. I'd bet on F! femera if you try to wrestle her for the last whatever. We've had shortages of cranberries and pumpkin in the past.

HVV and Cat. Hand sanitizer makes the drains easier to strip and ensures whoever is stripping them are clean. I make everyone wash their hands upon entering my house. I have small kids and we live in the country.

Straws make it easier to drink when reclining.

I love my v pillow. Check amazon or jcpenney for a boomerang pillow.

My surgery was in the summer. I didn't shave or use deodorant for awhile. I forgot to ask and was too scared to try initially. I found washing my pits with dial soap kept down the BO. Unfortunately I'm back at the same stinky place with rads. So using the dial soap again.

Good luck. You'll be amazed how quickly you feel better. Just don't over do too quickly. Try to walk now and a little bit every day after surgery. Even if it's laps around the house.

Idesim. The pacifier went straight to the trash. Thankfully we have more than one! They disappear like the remote.

GrammaB. I'm in the bag for your appt. I'll be the one snoring.

Ariom I have been buying my clothes second hand for almost 2 years as I my weight dropped after my diabetes dx and I found the low carb high fat ketogenic way of eating. I thought I was stabilized early in this past summer but then bc reared it's ugly head and my body changed yet again. I didn't realize how good it would feel to find and wear new/stylish clothing that made me feel so good about myself again. I do want to add that some of the things I bought on zulily were kitchen items, so it is not quite as bad as it seems!

Welcome HVV and Undercat (((hug))) nice to meet you and so sorry you have to be here!

Off to see my MO, more later.

Bobo, DH has illegible handwriting. One Wed before Thanksgiving we were at the store buying everything and could not read the last item on his list. This was before stores opened on Thanksgiving, so it was now or never. We ended up touring each aisle, trying to figure out what that word was.

    Yay Colin!! Way to go!!

Well, I didn't hear what I thought I was going to hear at the MO today. Naively, I thought I would be done with him after today, oh so not so!! Every three months for the next 3 years, then 2 more years every 6 months. 5 f'n years!!! Is that typical? I had no idea! I was thinking at last I can put this bc carp behind me.

I did ask him what stage my cancer was as it wasn't on the final path report. He said Stage 1, only because there was some invasion. He said it was so tiny that he would call it Stage .5 if he could.

My scars had little red patches around them. I had for the first time just put body lotion on my chest after my shower in the morning. I guess that skin is still too sensitive. I can't wear the scar strips they irritate my skin so I have been alternating between Vit E oil, Emu oil, or Mederma (which is basically Aloe), on them with no redness. MO told me to use Aquaphor healing ointment by Eucerin on them. I picked up a jar of it while I was at Target. It appears to be basically petrolatum (aka petroleum jelly). I'll try it for a while......

Stupid MO kept me waiting 45 min in the exam room, which set my shopping plans all off. I only got to 3 of the stops I needed to make out of 5. It gets dark so early and I just do not like to drive in the dark. And of course, now I am totally exhausted!

    Congrats Colin!!!! WTG!

GB, I didn't realize you had chemo or I didn't realize people saw an MO if they aren't getting chemo. I personally find it somewhat of a comfort to have ongoing checkups, its comforting to me that my MO is still a part of my life. 5 years is standard, my understanding of it is you are not "cured" of cancer unless you remain free of it for 5 years. The Aquaphor is messy, so wear an old tank top to keep it off your clothing.. I used it during rads and it just never came out of the tanks. We can't have you messing up your new Marika!!! Appears to me you got great news from the visit, I am happy for you :)

Bobogirl, you cook a turkey? I know you don't eat it, so I am a bit surprised you cook it ;) I hope you had a lovely ceremony today, I know that it was a no fanfare situation, but still is a special day regardless.

Nice to meet you HVV & Undercat.. ask away and we'll do our best to help you out.

GB, you weren't supposed to look at anything, you were specifically NOT to look.. I can't feed your shopping addiction anymore :)

No, it was an air fryer.. but it was a one day thing, so no biggie!

M, what a strange interaction you had in the shop.... just bizarre lol. I am very surprised you didn't whip your foob out!!! :) Did you impart any of your clothing wisdom to this poor soul? I feel kind of bad for her ;/

This was pretty much the forum I started in.. this and April surgeries... but April surgeries just petered out. I keep up with the rads group during the time I was going through it, but didn't really make any connections there. So for me, this thread is pretty much the only one I maintain. Once in awhile I'll look through the topics, but I feel I've gone through all the phases with relative ease and I don't want to give anybody false hopes because I know that I was pretty lucky that I tolerated everything so well. My MO even called me strange lol.

Herceptin tomorrow.. only going in to work for a couple of hours since they moved my appt to early afternoon. Hopefully my office is closing early so I am not leaving co-workers in a lurch.

Zils, I am with you.. my money goes with Granwe.. nothing would get in her way!! Are you off from rads on Friday?

Wren, I am curious, what was the item that you couldn't read?

M, dying to hear what "ensemble" you decided upon!!

    Talk to you ladies tomorrow!

ldesim, No, no chemo, rads or hormones. I was assigned a full team at dx, BS, RO, & MO. The RO I only saw once, before sx. He was the one that initiated my BRCA tests. Then of course the BS, my last appt with her was at the 4 week post mark. I met with the MO before sx, at 2 weeks after, and then this appt which was 3 months after that. I just was not expecting the 5 year plan. I thought maybe I'd see him once a year.

Thanks for the tip on the Aquaphor, I may have ruined a cami tonight..... sigh, well I just ordered 5 more!! ;)

He really did a very thorough exam, feeling the whole chest/node area on both sides. Said I had some scar tissue at the SNB site rt side, but it would go away in time.

I have no connection with this dr and really don't look forward to spending 5 years seeing him....sigh. His energy is just so blah. Maybe I am just annoyed at how long he made me wait. Ironically, as I was leaving, he was walking out from behind the nurses station with someone on staff and she was saying: "No I didn't say you were hard to work with I just...." that was all I heard. Odd.

This is my favorite thread by far! I also do the Hermit Club thread, the Looking for other flat women rant thread, and one game thread and a couple others I look at occasionally. I look at the Active Threads, but it is so hard to join in w/out reading past posts and I just don't have the time for that.

bobo, hope your ceremony went well and you had a wonderful day. You'll have 2 wedding anniversaries to celebrate! Hope you are feeling better.

    Hi girls...I'm Baaaack!

What a great day that was! I cannot believe what a great bunch of women these are, so much fun and so motivated. They were on my case today to join their Dragon Boat Team. I had a hard time explaining why I can't do that kind of stuff, but I know I am not going to be off the hook, they'll try again. They have been to Italy, Malaysia and Indonesia, as well as several competitions within Australia already this year!

I wore white 3/4 pants, with a black long sleeveless, fine knit tunic and a short black fine net waterfall cardigan on top.

I looked around the room at different ties. Everyone was wearing similar things with sleeveless tops. I noticed as the day went on, as people lifted their arms to brush back their hair or to stretch I noticed that almost all of us have the same scar curving around under our arms. I thought it would make an interesting picture! There were a couple flat and fabulous too, in gorgeous flat bodice dresses made from beautiful fabrics that I assume they bought, or had made in Asia.

gB, the 5 year thing is standard. I had the 5 year watch when I had the ca of the cervix scare when Bec was born. I was rated back then to be 9.75 on the full blown cancer scale, just a "bee's dick" away, so I was closely watched and tested regularly by my gorgeous Gyn for 5 years.

I have 6 monthly visits for 5 years with my surgeon, and I am in the "Breast Screen" system in Australia for Mammos and Tomosynthesis 3D imaging for 5 years. I am feeling pretty secure with that kind of watching too.

ldesim, I agree, how strange was that woman in the shop. I was so taken aback that I didn't even really think about taking out my foob and throttling her with it! It was the condescending way she said that "You" couldn't know how hard it is to find clothes, that struck me a bit speechless.LOL No I didn't offer anything, she was so rude.

    I am over it now!

I don't like the sound of that Aquaphor, is it really good? Petroleum????

What was that about the Air Fryer? I am about to do Whiting Filets in mine tonight with cous cous and lentil and chick pea salads!

Colin is still smiling! It was a very good win yesterday!

    Take care everyone M x

I meet with my MO next week. It will be interesting to see what my watch is. Also see my ob in case she wants to do a baseline of my uterus since tamox can mess with it. My hair is coming in with a vengeance so I wonder if my periods will come back. I was regular thru surgery but chemo stopped them.

Yes halfway thru rads. Had JS yesterday so hope to have some energy for thanksgiving. The boy asked if we could get out the tree. It's short and I only put out the non breakables so it shouldn't be too bad. Not going to get the house clean or toys sorted first.

Also decided to do rads on Friday and meet my friend for breakfast. No Black Friday for me this year. I'm afraid if I do I won't have anything left for the kids and it's a four day weekend. Have moved into microwavable meals. Last night sausage and pancakes. Boy loved it. Baby complains about her mouth. Need to get in there and look.

If I do rads on Friday then my last JS treatment will be the day after my last rads so I should get the full effect. I don't want to be tired for Christmas. I have no idea how you did it and worked Idesim.

Just a little snow this morning. Bobo package goes out today. DH taped it up before I got a note in but it's self explanatory.

GrammaB. Aquafor is the std for rads at my place too. I use it just on my scars at night. A little dab will do you. I too wondered about protroleum product especially during rads. I do know it works wonders on baby rashes.

Bobo. Happy shopping! Maybe it won't be so bad since you're going early. Drink a coffee while you go. The bigger stores in the city have Starbucks inside. Just wish they had a cup holder on the shopping cart:)

Granwe. Hope you don't have to cook but I bet you do!

    Wren. Did Boris go home?

Ndgirl is having fun with her family. I love a fish fry. Eat an extra piece for me.

    M. Did Dex go all the walking the whole way today?

Gotta go. Baby up way too early.

M, aquaphor is totally petroleum based. Agree -- what a funny convo with that uni! Love your story about the party. Idesim, DLLP cooks the turkey. I do a vegan one. Boy, I have about 1000 shopping bags to unload.

Z, how are you feeling? More energy after JS? I am cutting some cooking corners for Thanksgiving this year, I can tell you that. Still achy, fever on an off. Took nap yesterday! Can't remember when I've done that. And then got up for a few hours, put kids to bed, then went to sleep!

Our princess superbad right now, and driving me absolutely crazy. But then, when things go her way, she's perfect. So must things go her way? It's a rhetorical question.

YAY Colin! Good on you! :) Idesim, in the bag for Herceptin. Let me know how you are feeling. You are so butch about your Herceptin!

    Love you Granwe!

    Morning all!

Hi Zills, I missed your post last night. It is great to see you this far through and it seems your energy is much better.

I hope the baby is Ok, maybe mouth ulcers?

I wonder if you have the tree up now?

Didn't take Dex for a walk yesterday, or today. He wasn't too well after his chicken "Overdose"!

Bobo, So glad to hear you had a nap. Nothing better for shaking off an infection or a virus.

What's up with the Princess? just trying it on?

I am off to my Thursday Opp shop this morning to see my lovely friend who has ovarian c. She is the most gorgeous lady, who really took me under her wing when she heard of my surgery and that I had just moved here.

Hugs to gramwe...miss seeing your great posts!

I hope everyone else is ok, and keeping cozy! M x

Boris did go home with his Foster Mom on Monday afternoon. Tuesday morning another foster parent delivered his foster cat for us to take to Portland. His name was Lucas and he is FELV positive. So far he's not sick, but it's just a matter of time. Then we continued to Hood River tp be with grandsons for Thanksgiving.

Bobo, what do you make? Tofurky is made right here in Hood River.

Feeling ok.. always a bit groggy after the Herceptin, plus it was a long day.. had to pack 8 hours of work into 3, not so sure I accomplished that, but oh well.. I did the best I could. It was raining SO hard here today.. what a miserable day.

Bobogirl, I don't see how you can be cutting some cooking corners with 1000 bags of groceries!! Is the tree going up on Friday?? Mine is and it sounds like Zils has beat us all to the punch. What on earth is up with the princess lately? I wonder if she senses something is amiss.

Wren, I lost a cat to FELV.. so sad.. and they do go downhill fast once they become sick.

Zils, my MO told me to skip doing the pap this year as it will just come back bad from the Tamo. She also seems confident I will get my period back.. but it's already been 13 months when it should have returned 6 mos after the end chemo. I'll be tested in May which is 1 year on Tam and I already am trying to prep myself because I know that horrible thing Bobogirl had to endure is in my future. I'm glad you're getting another day out of the way with the rads, its just one more in the books... hopefully this will be the worst of the fatigue for you. Don't forget I did it in Spring and I think everybody has more energy in Spring.. the days are longer the weather mild.. etc. I couldn't imagine doing it in the winter.. that would be a chore :(

GB, that is unfortunate... I felt like that with my RO, just had absolutely no connection with her, I've been lucky with my MO, chemo nurse & BS, instant connections with all of them and it makes the hugest difference.

M, I am laughing at "bees dick" :) What exactly is the Dragon Boat Team? It sounds intriguing. I hope you have a wonderful opp shop visit! Your outfit sounded smart.. I love how you describe things, I can always visualize them.. that's such a gift. There was an air fryer on a deal of the day type of site for $69.99... I forget what the make was, but it came in different colors.. that was all that was about.

Enough for me.. need to get rested for the family affairs tomorrow.. my mother is already starting with her b1tching. Sitting in the chemo room fighting with her earlier so already I am soured over the holiday. My grandmother lives not even 2 miles away (father's mother) and my mother is ticked off that we are going to visit her.. I just love the holidays.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody.. stay safe and eat lots. M, I hope you have a gorgeous day :)

Hi ldesim, I hope you're comfy and cozy after that Herceptin today.

No action at the Opp Shop today, everything went in the $5.00 bag day last week!

I have been really fortunate, not to have any members of my Medical team that I didn't really like. When I was having Bec, I had a gyno that I just couldn't get along with. My elderly GP called him and gave him a telling off, you can imagine what it was like going back to him after that! I don't know what was said, but he was like a different person after that. I still didn't like him, but he had lightened up. I changed to another fabulous gyno after Bec was born.

The Dragon Boat for BC was started in Canada as an exercise program for women who had BC. I believe it has grown and become a worldwide program. We have a big group who are involved in this region. It is called "Dragons Abreast" They are really committed strong women, and the boats are really great looking with carved painted dragon heads on them. They paddle to the beat of a drum. It is a very exciting, and moving thing to watch.

I am so sorry that you've been fighting with your Mother, what is it that makes it so hard to deal with Mothers? Before my Mother got really ill, we could have the most unbelievable conflicts, and there are certain subjects that can cause a huge blowout with Bec and me too.

I wish you all a fantastic Thanksgiving Day!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I'm very thankful for y'all.

The d@mn detector decided it needed its battery changed now. I'm debating on getting up to start the stupid jello salad and have some tea and toast.

The boy got to go spend the night with his cousins so the baby and I had cheese sandwiches for dinner. DH had leftover soup. Thank goodness that pot is out of the fridge!

The pie wars have started this year. My sister3 was very excited to make the pies and picked some ambitious recipes. My older sister1, who recently moved back home, decided cooking the turkey and making the mashed potatoes wasn't enough. She's been gone at least 10 years. She said she'd bring the same pie as sister3 but was adding kaluha to it.

Sister3 is fit to be tied and her recipes didn't turn out perfect. She didn't make the cheesecake in a springform pan. She didn't put foil around the edges of the pumpkin pie. She hasn't baked in years. I told her it's all fixable. Make a trifle with the cheesecake and serve the pumpkin pie with whip cream next to the crust. Make it fancy.

So my job is to find something to crumble in the trifle with the cheesecake. It's pretty beat up. I'm thinking a pumpkin spice cookie or biscotti. Biscotti would be the easiest as it's already made.

I also feel like I need to make something my kids can eat. I could cheat and bring a package of oreos. The baby likes to eat the cream out of the middle:) I was thinking about those slice and bake chocolate chip cookies.

I'm already looking forward to a nap but they were sick last week and I don't want any germs from their bed. I tend to sleep hard and drool.

I hope your holiday gathering is semi-peaceful. I know 100% stress free is not reasonable for most of us unfortunately.

DS owns a hobby shop and had a rocket building class thru the community classes. This morning we met at 10am to shoot rockets in a big huge parking lot that was absolutely deserted. It was a lot of fun with a bunch of families with kids. The turkey is in the oven and the rest of the family is in the hot tub. I had a turn yesterday and it dries out my skin to do it daily.

Everyone is playing with an Apple App called Garage Band. It has various instruments and you can record them and combine to make a musical piece. Last night we rated the ones already made.

    Happy Thanksgiving/Hannakauh/Thursday to all.

OMG! PIE WARS! That is making me laugh. And so is the Fing smoke detector! Stupid thing.

I made a vegan turkey thing from Trader Joes, it was delicious. And DLLP made a large turkey breast in the crock. And many sides. My cheating, I: beer bread (easy to assemble) instead of homemade rolls; beets from a jar instead of roasted fresh, cranberries from a jar instead of homemade. Two homemade pies, though, made by DLLP. I don't really like pie. I, she is making me a pudding pie for after sx! I told her to.

Hmm. Hanukkah is not what I need right now in addition to everything else. DLLP is Jewish. But not very. Bought 14 of the 16 little presents. It's driving me crazy.

Yep, tree goes up tomorrow! Hooray! Loving that. Screamed my head off at the princess just now for squirting shaving cream all over the bathroom. I assure you, it's not the sx. She barely knows about it. It's her 7-year-old disease. She talks back to the radio: Oh there's no place like home for the holidays... she says, Yes there is.

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody! Still fighting this cold. Body aches, etc. XXXXX
