Fiaranch, oh boy do I know that lack of enthusiasm! I haven't been focused on eBay the way I should be since right after dx in July. I need a bit of extra income to augment Social Security (and zulily/Marika ). My cat is a chest kneader too. The couple of times I wore my foobs around the house, I was really scared he'd pop one!
Oh idesim, I have been bad again too....free shipping til midnight......
Zills, I can send you some links for lots of low carb ideas. Atkins induction phase is a good place to start to get a feel for it. Yay on the hair growing out. Jamie Lee Curtis, LOL, that is how I told the gal to cut my hair before sx! Only shorter!
Hmmm, maybe we should organize some sort of Marika exchange!!
Wren, really? A droopy boob!? That could really work for a uni of a certain age if it is for real.
bobo, I can't believe your brother!! How ungrateful! It is totally understandable that your emotions are so raw right now. You are under so much stress from all directions. F Marika and their messed up sizing! I am so sorry your things didn't fit! I'm pretty sure there are no returns with zulily. At least everything I have purchased said No Returns. Will be thinking of you as you prep and in the bag on sx day!0 -
I can say one thing, if the clothing does not fit and I followed the size chart that was posted.. then I am damn sure going to complain if they don't fit... no return policy or not. If an item arrives defective or damaged they have to do something about it and as far as I am concerned something that doesn't match a size chart is defective.
GB, I'm Northeast, no bad weather here, in fact we're in a bit of a warm spell for this time of year, not that I'm complaining.. shipments have never taken this long in the past from them.. but oh well.
I could use a little dose of Granwe.. miss ya girl! You just know that she has funny Thanksgiving stories to share.
Bobogirl, sorry about your Marika being uncomfortable.. I have a funny feeling I am going to find the same thing, but in my case it gives me added fire to use that damn treadmill and lose some weight.
Speaking of bosses.. how much time have you taken off work? I hope you are giving yourself enough time to heal.
M, you aren't going to pick up more Marika at the PO are you?0 -
All , Hope this post does not get me banned from this thread...............
I think a Marika exchange would be great . Also I think we may be on to some great business opportunities, we could name and on line store something like BWB (I will let you all think about what the first B stands for (several possibilities) the last 2 words are Without Boobs) . We could have several categories in an on line store just from our conversations alone. Examples Below
Droopy Foobs (for those whose perk is not what it once was)
Shit I Bought That I Thought would fit (Marika)
Shit I used to Wear but Now I Can't or Wont (all of my cashmere sweaters for example )
Luxury Foobmoires ( M imagine these would need to be designed by you with your great taste and organizational skills)
Better Than Barbie (a whole line of cosmetics /lotions that don't have estrogen (hell I have had to throw out more of what I had)
A few self help books ( I've had Cancer so YOU can go outside and Play hide and go F Yourself OR Yes My Chest is Flat but Your Face is Ugly
and drumroll.....................................
Polar fleece cami's and panties ........................ don't laugh........... other than Marika polar fleece is all I have been able to wear............ Its a good thing its winter here in the US but I am prepared to still be wearing it this summer ...........0 -
Fieranch, you're unreal, or in Aussie unroooooool!
I wish I could get into the Marika exchange with you. I have so much of it, but our postage is outrageous. I just checked online and once you go over the under 500gm weight which is $15.00, and put things into a box, or bigger parcel it shoots up to around $70.00. These are new rates that came in, surprise, surprise, just in time for Christmas.
Polar fleece panties and camis????? I have never seen those! LOL
I love the online business idea, and you'll never be banned from this thread! My nickname is "Guttergums!"
ldesim, I am sorry about the Marika, I agree that the sizing is way off. I contacted them when I first started buying, to complain about the sizes. They said I could return, but for me with our postage costs it would be silly. I have to just get organized and sell on Ebay.
Oh and no, ldesim, I don't have to pick up my Marika from the PO, Barry brings it right to the door!!!!LOL
gB, are you still shopping?0 -
Fia. You and Bobo are going to get me carted off to the looney bin. Laughing until I cry over you two today. Then it's one tiny step to a full blown sob fest. Bobo's were texts while I was at ob office.0 -
Fiaranch, you are too damn much.. those are some great ideas!!! I would gladly shop at that store! I now need to own a T-shirt that tells ppl to go outside and play hide and go F themselves. Oh please, do not even remind me of the damn clothes that I can't wear anymore.. I had a breakdown over that in the fall and still have 3 totes that will never make it to the Goodwill bin.
I don't recommend the polar fleece in the summer.... you will stink to high hell and we won't be afraid to tell you that.
M, you did warn us.. I should have asked you before ordering, this won't be the first time something hasn't matched the size charts, but normally you can return. Where Zulily has a no return policy, this could turn into quite the battle0 -
'I've had cancer so YOU can go outside to play hide and go f0ck yourself..'
I am peeing myself.0 -
I went to our local Fred Meyer today for groceries for dinner. I walked thru the athletic clothing and there was Marika! On sale! I didn't have time to try it on, but they had all the sizes so I can see what size I wear. And then hope all the styles fit the same. I also saw fleece long johns in the lingerie dept. I think they'd make great pajamas. I wore some silky long john bottoms at DS for pajamas and they were wonderful. They're tight enough that they don't twist around me like the looser ones - and decent for in front of little boys.
I worry about cat kneading and silicone foobs also. I wear my microbead when I go to the shelter. After my lumpectomies I carried a little heart shaped pillow around to cover the area because I was worried about my cat kneading. She had cancer and we put her out of her misery the same day we decided on the umx. That upset me far more than the umx. She was a little tortishell and was full of tortitude.0 -
Fiaranch, you are hysterical!! I love the store names!
ldesim, I want one of those T-shirts too! Yeah, between losing a lot of weight from diabetes dx to the bc and body change I have donated just about all of my old clothes. Today I put on my full length down coat and I'm swimming in it, but not sure I want to replace it this winter. I'll wait for end of season sales.
Ariom, I bought a kitchen tool today on zulily that opens all sorts of jars and bottles even flip tops. With the arthritis in my thumbs, opening lids is getting more and more difficult. That was a cheap item which gave me free shipping for the day. I put some items in my cart, (yes more Marika) but I haven't gone to checkout yet.
Hmm, I just went and did place the order, some sweaters and a pair of Marika capris. As it went through, I saw they charged me another shipping charge!! I fired off an email right away. That's the last they will see of me if they don't refund that charge!0 -
Wren, I am so sorry about your fur baby. I have a tortie and SHE is full of tortitude! I never thought about it that way! I thought it was just specific to her..0 -
Where's M? Was there an appt I slept thru?
I heard from Granwe. I don't have any details or funny stories. We need to ask Santa to send her an elf versed in technical stuff so she can post here, not bum pix on her tv! We love you Granwe!
Baby home sick with a deep cough from out of nowhere and wouldn't eat this morning. She did eat cheese and applesauce for lunch. See dr in an hour.
DH kept her this morning while I had rads and saw RO. Get boosts to scar next week. Only 10 to go. We're rounding the corner to the homestretch.
Not sure about tomorrow. Have rads, see MO, and JS. Need to ask about my plan for next year and increasing my Effexor. Have no patience with the kids and having night sweats.
Of course this crazy weather isn't helping. Supposed to snow this weekend and get cold. Then really cold next week. Single digits! Good thing I have an extra warm hat with ear flaps!0 -
OMG! I am laughing my head off at you gals today! fleece undies sound pretty darn good to me right now... we are in the deep freeze, and going to get worse toward weekend, wind chills of -24! I was in Fleet Farm coming home from Wisconsin, looking for bird food and suet, and came upon fleece jammies all wrapped up pretty with a bow and they were $7.00! They are cute and soooo warm, I would like to stay in them all day, but have to go back to work.
Yesterday I saw dr. for my trigger finger, I thought it may be from the med arimidex, but he didnt think so, it is my index finger and he says it is unusual to get trigger finger in the " true trigger finger", usually comes in ring and middle finger, probably will never know what the cause, but he gave me a shot (hurt like hell) but it feels so much better today, supposed to be 48 hours before true effect kicks in. Anyway problem solved for now.
I am mad at Bobo's brother!! shame on him.
Now I am kinda glad I didnt place my zulilly order, no returns sucks especially if sizes are wacky. GB, think they will refund an extra charge, but if they dont to heck with them.
as far as droopy boobs, I think the fitter at Mayo told me they have them in different sizes, I have to laugh at myself if I have the silicone one on and lay down, of course the natural one flattens right out and foob is pretty perky!! I wish I could lose 10 pounds but probably not going to happen this winter.
well hi ho hi ho it's off to work I go.0 -
Morning all! We have had the storms and rain and high winds. It went from 39.8c right down to 12c yesterday, so Air Con one day Heating the next!
I am here and OK Zills, just been trying to tackle the dressing room, final push to clear out stuff. I have to get that room ready for guests who will be staying over New Years. Fortunately, my girlfriend who is coming to stay, goes to sell stuff at a great Saturday Market in Melbourne. She takes my stuff too and we split the takings. A couple of years ago she did 3 markets and we came out with a couple of thousand each for stuff we would have given away! I have a lot for her to take this time too. It will take the pressure off me to do lots of Ebay. So I will keep the best for Ebay, and get the rest bagged up for her. Easy Peasy!!!!!!
So sorry to hear you've got a sick baby again, but so glad to hear you're on the home stretch with the rads! I am there for the appointments.
gB, I am wondering if you have a jar opener that I don't have. What is it? I am on the search to replace my favorite that recently broke after many years of service. It sits on top of the jar, two arms come in and grasp the sides of the jar, while an adjustable thing holds the top and turns till it snaps open. It was the best thing ever. We have so many different gadgets because my arthritic hands are useless for opening things, and Colin, well he has zero hand strength.
ndgirl, have a good day at work!
Have a great day everyone...M x0 -
Wren, so sorry about you kitty. I can see how that would be harder on you than the thought of sx. It is losing a family member!! Good that you can actually see the Marika stuff. You can at least hold it up to yourself and get an idea of what size will fit. I just went in blind and for the most part, I lucked out. I have got to look for fleece pjs or long johns!
Zills, so sorry the baby is sick. I was in the bag, but soundly sleeping. I'm a night owl and didn't get to bed until 4:15AM last night/this morning. It's single digits here now and by the end of the week we're heading for negative double digits at night. I've got a couple warm hats coming from zulily.
Speaking of zulily, not a word yet from them re the second shipping charge. Did get an automated response that they got the email. Not buying anything else there until this is resolved with a credit.
ndgirl, man I know how much that shot in the finger hurts!! I had one early in 2012 and so far it is still working. I had a shot in my thumb for arthritis that hurt just like the trigger finger one at the same time. I had to get another in the thumb last month, and was surprised it didn't hurt as much as the first one. Hope you don't have too stressful a day at work.
Hugs to all!0 -
grammaB (any anyone else freezing or needing something soft)
Since I cannot find polar fleece cami's and panties I may have found the next best thing "Cuddle Duds" . They are like long johns but silky and soft . My sister sent me some . She got them at Kohls (but they also have them on line) As there is no way I will ever set foot in Koh'ls again lol, I found them on amazon. They run true to size . I have been sleeping in them and they would work well under clothes.0 -
-
Fiaranch, I love cuddle duds! They are perfect for sleeping in. I got the greatest pair of microfleece pj's at Macy's a few years ago.. they are so thick and so warm.. way to hot to sleep in though. I got a set for a GF and my mother and wish I had picked up another one for myself because I haven't ever been able to find any as luxurious as these since.
GB, I hope they correct their error.. I have yet to have a cause to go to customer service so I have no idea how responsive they are. I sure as hell will find out if the Marika doesn't fit.
Zils, hope the baby is feeling better soon.. busy day tomorrow for you so get into your pillow palace as early as you can.
M, a couple of thousand dollars.. wow.. at least you can get rid of some of the stuff that has been haunting you.
Wren, so sad.. I had to put a cat down and to date it was one of the saddest things in my life. I don't even know what I will do when it's Harley's time... can't bear to think about it. My grandmother has had tons of cats over the years, but her fav one was this sweet little female tort.. she still misses her to this day and I think she died 15 years ago.
Bobogirl, I hope everything is falling into place for you now!!
Be back later.0 -
GB, yes the shot hurts, at first I said "that's not so bad" and then it went further in and I told dr. I take it all back, but I could feel a "pop" and he said it was the sheath that shields the tendon and it kinda blew it open!! feels much better today and hopefully better tomorrow. Hope you send Bobo some healings as you did to the rest of us.. thanks so much.
Franch.. love cuddle duds! they are the best! When I walk to work I wear them and usually wear Russell insulated sports pants, dont think the brand Russell is made anymore tho, I have 3 pair and love them too, these winters here in ND are brutal at times. I dont think Bobo would think ND is magical on these days as she did in the summertime. Sure hope Bobo is getting ready for the 6th! I know to tell her to take it slow and get rest but hey.. I could not do it before surgery either and I dont have little ones depending on me. Sending you the best thought and most positive energy I know.
Good for you M, 2k is a great sum, that is a nice friend you have!! Tonight I am just going to sit and look at Christmas tree lights and settle in with a hot cup of jasmine tea! Anyone want to join me?0 -
Ok all here is another category for our on line store !!!! I have tons of these I have yet to discard !!! Let see what do we call these Boob Bouquets ??? ROFL ........................ I do think our hangers at least have to have rhinestones on them !!! To bad I flunked "crafting with a hot glue gun" !!!!!0 -
You absolutely, crack me up Fieranch! I just took a bag to the op shop with the last of my favorite bras that I just couldn't part with, till now. I have no idea why I had to hang onto them, but I could have hung them up all over the place with Petunias in them...who'd have thunk!!!!!
I don't know of Cuddle Duds! I love my faux fur throws for watching TV. Dex loves to curl up on top of the throw, stretched out across me, so he's like a little electric blanket.
I have just been to the Opp shop, and came home with a brand new, with tags, Helly Hansen jacket for $4.00, oh how I love my "Oppie", looked it up online and over $300.00 for this style. Perfect for the boat or walking Dex when the winds are high.
I feel for everyone who is having the cortisone shots, but they can give the most incredible pain relief. I am one of the lucky ones who has them and they last for ages. I had my shoulders, elbows,a and both hips done at the same time years ago, and haven't needed to have them redone yet.
Bobo, it is almost time, I wonder how you're feeling now. I don't know if you need it, but remember how I told you I disengaged from my breast the night before my Surgery. I know it isn't for everyone and it sounds weird, and hokey, but speaking directly to it, worked for me. I hope you have finished the things you just had to get done and are now looking out for you.
ldesim, I can't tell you how I want to be rid of all this stuff. My neighbors asked me to do a yard sale with them, and I have plenty of stuff that came here, but hasn't been used, along with a lot of really good appliances that came out when we renovated. I am determined to de-clutter everything!
Take care....M x0 -
omg Ndgirl, thanks for the vivid description of that.. you saved me from that brownie I was contemplating having. Speaking of, I'll just pop into my cuddle duds and bring over this plate of brownies to join you, so set out another cuppa! I meant to say earlier.. what a great deal you got on the jammies... so cheap for a set, I hope you have them on now while watching the lights.
Every time somebody mentions fleece or flannel pjs, all I can think of is Granwe's story of her pj encased bottom being telecast on the big screen and I start chuckling. Was there dogs on them?
Fiaranch & M.. I too have the bras that I can't bring myself to throw out.. I don't know why.. I know I can never wear them again and they are taking up room, but I just can't do it. Same with bathing suits.. although my fat @ss probably won't fit into any that I do have. I dunno about the petunia thing, my C cups probably aren't large enough to get a good root system going. Is that actually a bra or just a pot that looks like a bra.. it's cute for sure.
I think of all the stuff I spent the time packing up when I moved and most of it is just sitting in the basement.. it's ridiculous.. I should just carry it out to the curb sight unseen.. if I haven't used it in almost 3 years, it cannot be all that important!
{{{{bobogirl}}}}0 -
I've had the cortisone shots in my neck and shoulder for a botched surgery. What worked better there for me was Botox. Yes, the same stuff people use for wrinkles. I had 13 injections done one day. Great for pain relief. Had cortisone shot in thumb 2 months ago, it's locking up again. Thanks arimadex.
Bras. After bmx, and could drive I took them all to Goodwill box. Didn't want to see them, was taking up space I could use for something else.0 -
The old bras, I have not thrown even one away yet.. tell me why? But some of the best ones I keep thinking I could wear them with my contact foob, but I never have yet!! watching Celtic Christmas on pbs with trees shining! and tea is hot! off to bed soon,The pink petunia bra! in Fargo they have a fund raiser for bc and it is called "Bras on Broadway" and the whole street is lines with hanging bras, I have never been there at the actual time only saw a few pics. I remember in the 60's when all we wanted to do was burn our bras! Does that make me old?? ha.0 -
Then that makes me old too! Ah, who am I kidding? I AM old!
Celtic Christmas, wow, that sounds neat! Makes me wish I had tv, but only for that.0 -
Ariom, here is the opener I got,
it was $6.99. We were posting at the same time. Wow! 2k is awesome!!
ldesim, I did get a response from zulily. They apologized, but didn't say why it happened. My choice of refund was to wait until they ship so they can refund my card, or take a $7.95 store credit. I'd have to wait until something like the 18th for that, so went with the store credit. I'm not sure my response got there though. gmail wouldn't let me place the text above the line above the picture/ads as zulily requests. I've been sent two copies of my response, don't understand that. I don't use gmail much.
Fiaranch, I think I have seen Cuddle Duds at WalMart! I'll have to check next time I go to town. I'll look at them on Amazon. Thanks for mentioning them!
ndgirl, hurt like heck, but I am close to 2 years out from it and finger is still OK. I'd be so happy to send bobo healings, all she needs to do is ask. You need the recipient's permission to send Reiki.0 -
Fiaranch, Love the bra hanging planter!!
I too have a drawer full of bras that I need to let go of. I'm not so sure a regular bra will work with a contact foob, maybe. I hate to have that puppy pop out in public!
ldesim, I have been here almost 10 years and I still have boxes of things in the garage unopened.
ndgirl, I watched the Celtic Christmas the other night. I was beautiful! Their voices are so angelic!0 -
gB, thanks for that, I don't have that one. What is the little doohicky for at the top?
ndgirl, I meant to say, I am on my way over to join you, I wish! I just bought some tea to put in Bec's hamper of gifts, and bought a pack for me too. It is White Tea with Rose Petals in an Infuser Pod! I'll bring it with me! LOL Bec loves different kinds of teas, and so do I, so we always buy unusual ones for each other.
That fundraiser in Fargo sounds like fun. I wonder where all the bras come from? Perhaps the opp shops all donate bras for the celebrations!
I am surprised that parting with the bras is difficult for lots of us. I thought it was just me. I too, thought I may wear them with my Contact, but my "Dog Ear" ruled that out. I need something with a wider side than the gorgeous French lace ones I used to love. Even my every day soft micro fiber bras didn't work with the Contact, so they are gone now....sniff
Speaking of my "Dog Ear" after much deliberation, and late night discussions with Colin, I have decided that I will have the last couple of centimeters of scar, "fixed". I don't need to do the whole thing, because i am afraid that if it gets reopened and pulled about I may have a problem with it feeling too tight, and the thought of LE scares me too. It is just that last little bit that bothers me because it can pop out over the side of my bra, and I seriously hate having to tuck it in....uggggghhhhhh!!!!! Anyway, my Surgeon told me he could definitely fix it, and that we could organize it at my next appointment, which is in January. I am hoping I can just have it done with a local. I can't really feel anything in that area, and I sure don't want to be knocked out for it.
Spookiesmom, I haven't known anyone to have the Botox for reasons other than wrinkles, but I saw a wonderful story on a little boy with serious cerebral palsy who had Botox shots for some of the muscles. It worked a miracle! I must admit, I thought it was a miracle when it removed all my Crows Feet! LOL
I didn't realize you don't have TV. One of Colin's girls in Melbourne chooses not to have Television either. She used to tell us that when the family watched a movie it would be her, her husband, 3 kids and 3 hamsters huddled around the laptop!0 -
Posting at the same time again gB. They do say that the contact is designed to be worn with a normal bra. I am afraid that none of my old ones were the right shape for it, I had no idea how low cut my "Balconette" bras were.
I have vowed never to wear an under wire again. When I first came to these boards, I read of a woman who wore an old bra that had the under wire protruding and it stabbed her, right where she couldn't feel it and caused a lot of damage. It was the stuff of nightmares for me, so since I am still very numb, I can't see me ever wearing one.0 -
Ariom, I'm not sure exactly how all the features of the opener work. I am assuming that little hook is the part that opens pop top cans. This is the description of the item on zulily:
This versatile kitchen tool opens jars, bottles, pull-tabs, seals and bags with the greatest of ease! It's constructed from durable plastic and stainless steel and is dishwasher safe for added convenience.
The brand is Progressive. You can plug that in the search box and their products will come up.
I only had the contact on once. It seemed to me that the top portion would be higher than the bra. I don't know maybe not. I am still going to wait a couple of months before putting them on for a test run.
OMG, that is a scary story about the underwire! I am very cautious with the shower as the water hits right on my chest. I am so afraid of not feeling the heat and burning myself.0 -
Thanks gB, I will take a look, but that sounds right, I have a similar looking one that has a thing to pull up ring pulls.
You're absolutely right about the Contact. I am looking for a nice fuller figure, style all over lace bra, without under wire, that will cover all of the Contact. I don't think that's too much to ask for:) I don't want to wear a Mx bra with the Contact on principle! If it doesn't have to go in a pocket, I am not going to wear one with a pocket!
Isn't that story just the worst! It makes me shiver to think about it. I am fortunate, because of Colin's disability, we have little key pads on the walls in all the areas where there is hot water. Colin has no feeling at all, so he can, and has been, badly burned in error, never by me, thank goodness. The key pads allow you to key in the temperature you want the water to be, so I don't have to worry in my bathroom, I keep it at a constant 42c.
Nearly dinner time here, don't know what is going in the air fryer tonight! Take care all...M x0
