MANY thanks for whoever mentioned Marika. I hate shopping but with the salesI figured I would give it a try. Just got a seamless sports bra and it is wonderful!!!! I love it. Band does NOT dig in, it is the only bra that doesn't gap and fits tight against my chest. I might even be brave enough to wear my V necks without a scarf. I hope I can lean over when I'm teaching without flashing my students a view of my chest. Haha... I think it is M202301. Weird how happy I am to find something so comfortable. Baby steps to normal.

Have to use compression wrap now b/c of seromas but can wear the bra after the seromas are gone. Dont think it will fit over the bandages but luckily have camis that will.

I wouldn't have found this without this group. To say I been obsessed with finding a bra that works is an understatement! Who knew it would be so hard.

Zills, thanks for the updates!! So great DLLP agreed to include you in the information chain.

Gramwe so good to hear from you again! LoL you had me really laughing. Hope all goes well and uneventfully with OG's sx. Wishing him a speedy recovery. You touched on some of the details before, it really sounds scary. So our little baby is really growing! No fruit or veggie comparisons any more?

It is frigid here!! High daytime single digits nightime low minus double digits. Wind chill makes it feel like -33°F. I'm not going out unless it is an emergency. This Arctic weather is expected to last into next week! Several of the towns around here have canceled their Christmas parades scheduled for this weekend. Sad, but it really is too cold to be standing outside for any length of time! No snow though! Clear skies so far and that is partly why it is so cold.

I guess I'm an odd ball. I didn't even think to ask for a scan after sx. Actually all I had before was the magnified mammo and an ex-ray. My BS did tell me to check my chest and get to know the new norm to be able to watch for something new. She said there is some breast tissue left behind attached to the skin. If not the skin would die. She told me this after sx, though she swore she told me before. MO didn't say anything about any kind of scan when I saw him last month. Will ask in Feb when I see him again.

ldesim, did you get your shipment from zulilu yet? I have a big one that tracking shows as being in Salt Lake City, UT since 11/29. It said delivery 12/5 on the tracking, yesterday that changed to n/a. WTF?? It contains a lot of items too.

    Posting before it gets lost.

Yes Bobo's on eastern time. Haven't heard anything but DLLP may be with her in recovery by now. So we wait a little longer.

She said she had friends on deck so not sure if anyone waited with her. Not sure if that's where she works. She did buy candy for the nurses and CDs from the group playing carols in the lobby so she stay stuck in the waiting room. I'm glad.

Bobo should get to come home tomorrow if her pain is managed.

Oh wow, it's 3.45pm in FL, 7.45am here. I thought it may be done by now. Thanks for the updates, so far, Zills. I feel for DLLP, is the Hospital far away from where they live?

It has turned so cold here again, it is the only topic of conversation in the shops. It is bleak and grey outside. Not good waiting weather! Gosh, I hate the waiting. M x

Hi Zills, posting at the same time! How are you doing today? Baby fine? any little surprises, or little bare bottom this morning?

Good to hear there may be someone with DLLP, that would be a dreadful long wait on your own. Nice to see she is looking after the Nurses ahead of time!

Good news that Bobo may be out tomorrow, but didn't she arrange to stay another day? M x

On Dr Oz today. Breast cancer in young women causing breast cancer because they kept their phone in their bra. These girls were barely 20 with no history or bc genes.

Hi Georgie, so glad you found the Marika sports bra, and you love it. I have them in every color, and have been banging on about them and Marika in general, across these boards since I found them after my surgery! This is probably my best find so far, and to be able to get them so cheap, on sale, such is a bonus! I love that I can wear a lightweight "Foob" in them, and they stay put. I like to wear Marika yoga pants and a zip front jacket, zipped up to the chest, with the bra color showing. I get really nice comments wherever I wear these.

HI georgie, welcome to our group! I have ordered tons of Marika stuff lately (most hasn't arived yet) but I haven't ordered any of the bras. I just might have to go and look at that style.

Still no word? I'll keep checking back.

Me too, ldesim, the waiting is awful!

I have to go out, but don't want to miss an update!

Good grief Zills, is that true? If so, what we thought was already an epidemic will be so much worse in the future. I can't even think about that!

Still nothing but they may be waiting for a room. I had to wait forever. Or could be entertaining the family.

I hate to bother her. I'm taking no news as good news.

Thanks for that Zills. I was so out of it, I don't remember anything about recovery except nurses telling me to "breathe!" I have no idea if I waited for a room at all. I'll keep checking in.

Poor DLLP, she must be exhausted.

GB, I am still Marika-less... I have not tracked it. I can't recall having things take so long before.. maybe time of the year is a big factor.

Interesting tidbit on the phones Zils, such a scary thought... it's hard to know if breast cancer is up or down from years and years ago.

Georgie, you have come to the right forum to discuss Marika.. our little group just went on a naughty spending spree! We also have a resident foob expert should you ever require advice in that area too.

I remember recovery and being wheeled to my room.. once I was a awake I stayed awake... my fear is she is going to have a bit more difficult time than we all did since she had the recon.. I think the next couple of days might be difficult for her :(

ldesim, all I do is click on the Track Package button in My Orders. With this one package Tracking shows it leaving Salt Lake at 2:05AM on the 29th of Nov and then no other addition. The package I got a couple of days ago was like that too, only from Denver, and then the day of delivery when I clicked Track, it all filled in and said out for delivery. Something is wrong with FedEx tracking. And I really dislike this SmartPost where FedEx drops it at my PO and then they deliver to me. It adds another day to the ship time.

I've stopped shopping, even though I have the $7.95 credit, until some of these things show up. Some are Christmas gifts that I have to mail out after I get them.

She's in a private room napping! Having some pain. DLLP still there.

It's freezing rain/sleet here. House smells like Thanksgiving. Trying to make stock.

The only reason I remember recovery is that I kept getting moved as they shut down for the night. And the ride made me sick. I think surgery was over around 3.

The doctor wanted me in the gold section? So I didn't get to a room until after 9. It had 9 pillows and I just wanted some tea and toast. I expected something grand to have been kept waiting that long but it was just a room.

Bobo packed a care bag for DLLP with buffalo beef jerky as a joke and some Belgium chocolate. She was asking about us.

Thanks Zills! I hope she takes the pain meds if she needs them. For the first couple of days they can help alot!

ldesim, the package that is mia was supposed to be delivered yesterday. Then it switched to delivery date N/A. It has 8 items in it, 7 Marika!

I'm glad she's in a room. All I remember from recovery is them wheeling me on to the elevator. Don't remember transferring to the bed, but must have done so because I was in it later. Then DH looking so tired and sleepy I was worried he'd fall out of the chair. Sent him and DD home to get some sleep.

GB, I'd be on the phone asking what that N/A means.

Going to have a guest kitty from the 17th to Jan. 2. His name is Freckles. He's black (what else?). He came in with Bear and was probably her littermate. Got a really cute picture of Bear from her adopter, who says she's in love with her. Always good to hear.

Just got in, thank you Zills for the news! I can't tell you how relieved I am, and a private room is great.

gB, it was nerve wracking when we were waiting to hear from you after your surgery too!

Oh, I hope there isn't too much pain. I don't think Bobo had the time to get on to gB for a healing Reiki, maybe later.

ldesim, I always forget what I ordered, and get a great surprise when they arrive. I got an email this morning to say a couple of items are missing from my order because they ran out of stock. One was a jacket that made up the suit with the two kinds of pants, too bad, so sad! LOL Not like I don't have another jacket that will match!

I was wide awake when I got to my room too after surgery. I was ravenous, but not in pain. My throat was an issue, lozenges fixed that, but I had more pain from my broken toe than the Mx. I don't think our girl will be pain free:(

I am actually working on a little project in my dressing room. I now have a "Marika Closet", just like the "Foobmoire" I just know gramwe will come up with a fitting name for that too! There is so much Marika in this house now, and still more coming, that it needs to have its very own place. Since I wear it most days, it will make the walk in robe much tidier for the "Going Out" stuff!Winking

ndgirl, I hate icy roads too. Thankfully I don't need to drive on them any more, but I used to psych myself up to drive to the Airport at 6am in the Winter between the ice, or fog and the bloody road trains, I was a nervous wreck when I got there!

    Take care everyone.....M x

The scan would be for my lungs. But I guess it's probably not a good idea during rads. Maybe my body will be clear of all that stuff by March. Why couldn't he just say that?

I asked DH about checking for lumps. He said we weren't told anything. I'll ask my RO on wed.

I managed to attend my old job's Christmas lunch. It was great to see everyone and they were surprised. I even got to see a couple of parents but all the kids were napping.

I ate too many garlic cheese grits. I only get them twice a year (Christmas and teacher appreciation week). I have never tried to make them.

I got a text from her as well a couple of hours ago.. just saying hi... no news on how she is (of course) but at least she can pick up the phone!! My worry for her is she has trouble with pain meds which I am hoping they worked around so at least she can be comfortable without being sick. I'm shocked that they think she might go home today.. I thought with the recon they kept you at least 2-3 days. I'm just relieved that this is behind her now and I just hope that this all goes easily for her. I wonder if her mother or brother came by the hospital... do you think they were banned? :) I hope DLLP got some rest that was a long stressful day for her..

I have so much to do today (MUST finish decorating the tree), but honestly just feel like lounging on the couch in my pjs. We were almost in the 60's yesterday and then got a sleet storm last night.. crazy weather but at least the sun is finally out after it being overcast for a week. You'd think the sun would make me feel more energetic, but that's not happening!!! Supposed to go xmas shopping with my GF... look forward to seeing her but not to the shopping :)

See you girls later, have a great day and a lovely evening to you M.

Zils, I have to think that scanning during rads isn't a good idea.. I forget do you see your MO again in 3 weeks.. or ask the RO... what the reasoning is, just for your piece of mind (geez is there such a thing anymore). They probably want the areas all healed before doing anything. Once you finish rads though you will heal quickly on the surface.. it's pretty amazing.

I was going to go post in Bobogirl's surgery thread.. but I saw you already took care of that! You have so much going on, yet you are always thinking of others, love that about you.

    Ok off again!

don't feel bad Idesim. I'm still in my pjs and my DH just got in the shower. Both kids were dressed early because the baby was stripping and the boy is content in his underwear. It's too cold for that!

I was supposed to go out for breakfast but we postponed it due to weather. The baby went back to bed about 9 so I laid down too. She's just congested. The boy put in a movie and helped himself to tortillas and chocolate cream cheese.

My skin is pinker around my area. Sometimes it's itchy but I just slap more cream on it. I have a burn mark where they put tape and I guess I didn't get the residue off. It doesn't hurt thank goodness. Glad I got tatts or would be covered in round doohickeys!

Need to go tackle the dishes and laundry. Get boxes ready to mail on Monday. Will put off paperwork and Christmas cards a little longer.

    Hello Granwe!

Either you're underplaying it, or you are really doing well through rads! I was somewhat in pain by this far along and skin breaking down. Funny, the itchiness bugged me the most about the whole thing.. hated the itchy. You can add hydrocortisone (sp?) to the Aquaphor.. just over the counter strength is fine... 50/50 mix them together and slather it on. You have those little bumps? Hated those because it freaked me out as that's how the cancer started on my skin... like a rash.

I am intrigued by chocolate cream cheese! Never had it.. my two fav things combined lol!

Sounds like the baby is on the mend..... I hope she stays that way. Is the boy excited about Christmas? I've always missed having kids the most around this time. sniff. sniff ;)

Zils, I am laughing because I am still in pjs and Joe just got in the shower :) But half the damn day is gone already.. blah... I've done a few small things, but nothing major accomplished...Christmas cards still sitting on dining room table with the ornaments for the tree lol. I wanted to try a couple of recipes too, I found a mounds bars and also a nice truffle one that I want to try.

Aren't these cute.. going to make them for co-workers, even my pathetic @ss can't mess these up:
