Someone asked me yesterday if I was going to resolve to quit smoking. Looked him in the eye and said no. Well are you going to make *any* resolutions? Uh, NO. I said I resolve not to make any cause I always break them anyway. Nosey jerk!

    Hey Ladies,

Ok, I have been living in the south too long..I have to get back in high gear to keep up with all the goings on around here!

DH is feeling better today (yes, he is a big baby), but one of my 50 relatives that I have been with during the last three days has shared the sniffles with me!  I tried to stay away from all the sickies, but some how their f'ing germs got to me! I have not been a happy camper all day!

Happy Boxing or, if you celebrate, Sale Shopping Day!  I have seen that several ladies enjoy a good sale, but it seems only with workout attire. I'm not up to cute outfits to work out in, still munching on Christmas Sweets!  Just got my chocolate taste buds back and plan to enjoy them for the next two days!  Now if I can only get the coffee ones back!

Ariom- thank you for the comparisons of previous surgeries!  Yes, tonsillectomy during teen years was a bit sh (mine was at 16), ectopic really sucked (mine was over 30 years ago), and hysterectomy (2000) damn near sent me over the edge! I think we are living in parallel universes!  ( I also had reduction surgery, but that was a piece of cake.). You have helped allievate my fears!  I am also practicing Jin Shin to keep calm!

Happy Birthday Granwe!  Hope you had a wonderful day!

Once again, I am being long winded-my apologies. I Don't have anyone to chat with here and it is all your faults for making me feel so welcome!  I also had a nap, so I am wide awake!  Till later, Susan

You're so funny ldesim! I am going to eat cookies on my treadmill too! and I'll buy that book!

I bought 5 items, just under $50.00 and $10.00 postage. I have to pay that much postage for just 1 item from our Home Shopping Network in Sydney, so I am used to that. It won't add much weight to my parcel from MyUS.

Wren, sounds like you had a great feast!!   GSs $61, too cute!

scg, glad you got some relief from the swelling.  So sorry about your FIL. I can see how DH is too raw to be able to process your dx too.  He'll come around.  Zills gave you some good advice. (hugs)

Ariom, hope you are having a great time with Bec!  Seriously, another50% off sale??   May have to mosey over and see about some capris.  I got my size lg ones today and they fit fine.

Hi vivtwins!  Welcome to our little group!  I go every where flat. I really dislike the foobs.  I was gifted some soft knit ones that I will try slipping into a stretchy bra come warmer weather, no weight at all.  What a great idea to take a trek on your treadmill!!

Zills, I am going to have to look at that video.  You can't have too many guns in your arsenol to fight anxeity!

Wren, so true about the differences in surgeries.  I too had a hysterectomy and also cervical fusion.  This BMX was a breeze compared to those surgeries and the recoveries around them!

Gramwe, so good to see you posting again!!   Hope you had a great dinner and Happy Birthday!!

No apologies, or editing necessary Susan! How do you think we got to 125 pages! LOL

There is usually a lot more shopping going on than just the workout clothing which has become a firm fave of mine since moving to this lovely casual, laid back place. I have been surfing the sales, but haven't found much to interest me this year. I have actually spent more time clearing out and getting rid of stuff this past year. I had no idea how many V neck, or revealing tops I had, so I have changed my way of dressing to accommodate wearing a silicone prosthesis, which can be heavy. That heavy thing in a Mx bra has a tendency to fall forward when you bend over revealing an empty space all the way to your waist. It is my pet hate, so I have banished all  those revealing tops to the Opp Shops.

I am sorry you got the virus that was being shared around. Olive Leaf Extract is fantastic for any virus that is respiratory related.

It is 4.30 in the afternoon and now I have to start thinking about dinner. I am just so sick of  thinking about food. I have eaten so much in the past few days, it is ridiculous.

I hope you can feel a bit less anxious about the surgery, this whole journey is so bloody stressful that offloading a bit of stress is a good thing! Take care M x

Hi gB, definitely worth a look. They have added more to the Clearance page today.

Bec and I have had a great visit, no mani and pedi this time, but lots of laughs and lots of running to the bathroom so as not to pee our pants! Bec has the most incredible sense of humor and can make anything, funny.

We haven't had any spider problems, but we do have a giant Bat that comes at night to eat Figs. Bec has caught it in the light from her phone, it is huge and very creepy looking.

I am going to miss her when she leaves tomorrow, but she is back for the day on the 31st for the fireworks display on the water, we are having a party here with friends from Melbourne, and then she goes home again on the 1st, to be at work on the 2nd. She will go to Sydney for the Celebration of her Grandmother's life on the 9th and probably she will spend her Birthday there on the 12th of Jan.

    Catch you later...M x

    D@mn, just lost my post!!

ldesim, no New Year's resolutions here either!.  But what I do is draw an Angel Card on Jan 1.  The sentiment on the card ends up being really true for the year when I get to this time of year and look back.  The card I drew Jan 1 this year was Clarity.  with all the things I went through this year from back issues, maintaning my diabetes, to bc have sure given me a clearer picture of what things/people are really important to me and which ones I can easily leave on the side of the road and never look back!!

Spookie, yeah, any resolutions I ever made barely lasted through Jan let alone the whole year!!

Aww sgc, so sorry that the bug caught up with you.  Hope it goes away fast.  Geesh, I know what you mean, I'm having a heck of a time keeping up with everyone today!!

He said yeah but that crap costs tons for just cheap silver...........  It was Tiffany !  LMAO I said well at least she has good taste !!!

Regarding News years resolutions................  Screw them I will just keep sweating and swearing .............  I will check back in later when I have completed my plumber assistant responsibilities  !!

Hey Fia, can you hand me a hammer?  Uh, on second thought.. forget it... glad the GF has nice expensive taste.. keep him on his toes lol.  Hope you  find the F leak and that DH stays in one piece long enough to fix it!

Speaking of sweating and swearing... did 15 lousy mins on the treadmill (got bored) and within 7 mins was sweating, so I go to take my sweatshirt off thinking I can handle this and fall off the damn thing!  Right on my ass! Then like a dipsh!t I almost jumped back on it while it was running.  I still think I could have done it, but luckily I had 2 seconds of common sense and shut it off.

I don't know WTF is going on but when I type in here, the the cursor is  just going all over the place and I keep deleting my entire post.. I wonder if this was Granwe's problem.. honestly it's pissing me right the F off.

Happy birthday Granwe! Hope it was wonderful. You deserve it.

I think we're all trying to get rid of stuff. We have learned the hard way what's important. Not waiting until Jan until start living better now that I feel better.

Walked a mile and did rites for the first time. Arm feels ok. Black kitten walked half way and then waited on me to come back.

Saw some cute M tops but not enough to make it worth my while. Thought about capris but not sure of size come spring after I get fit. Plan on moving the pillow palace out of living room and taking my landlord up on their offer of some piece of exercise equipment.

Speaking of cookies. Those wedding cookies didn't taste right to me. I called my friend and she said no water, 2 cups of pecans and both almond and vanilla extract.

Going to my 2nd mom's Christmas party tonight. About 8-10 women. Everyone brings an app and a $10 gift to exchange. Great fun stealing presents. Am taking homemade beer cheese.

Looked like a colorblind person this morning at gas station to get beer and coffee. Red pants, purple vest, blue and orange hat with ear flaps. Couldn't find either of my jackets. DH hung them up in laundry room instead of the hall tree.

Need to go make it and do paperwork and laundry. Didn't get as far yesterday on paperwork as I wanted. Boy playing computer games.

My zombie flesh is starting to come off under my arm. It looks like moldy wallpaper coming down. Only one red itchy spot left. Trying real hard not to help it along.

Sgc, glad to hear DH is doing better.. can you imagine if they had to go through this sh!t? The divorce (or homicide) rate would be much higher!!! Hope you get your coffee buds back.. my two fav things love coffee!!! Oh and we do have a little forum rule that you need to abide to (besides swearing to your hearts content) and that is that we apologize for nothing around here!!!! nothing!!!!!!

lol M, I can't believe you bought more Marika.. well actually, yeah I guess I can!!! How many Marika ensembles do you guesstimate you have?

Ok, I've heard of it in books or referred to in shows.. but what exactly is boxing day?

    GB, cervical fusion sounds horrific!

M, so glad you and Bec are having such a good time I know you are going to miss her, but you'll be busy preparing for your guests!!... love that you two are nearly peeing yourselves but think the bat is disgusting!!!!!

Gb the angel card sounds nice, I am hoping that they all give good sentiments!!

omg Zils I am laughing over the colorful gas station ensemble that just sounds so much like something I would do to run a quick errand. the get together sounds like fun but I don't know about that beer cheese.. it's probably fantastic, but sounds disgusting lol!

    Later ladies!

Idesim, My mouse does that when the batteries are low. If you use a track screen, I have no idea - suggest google.

Zills, We had a black cat named Samantha. She would follow us to the end of the block and wait patiently and walk back to the house with us. Wish I had a photo of that outfit.

    Well, Helloooooo there everyone!

I am just back from a big walk with Dex, he wasn't in to it, and kept trying to get me to take the shortcut! He's a funny dog, when he doesn't feel like it, he tries to come home. It is pretty hot, and he's not a dog that enjoys the hot weather, so he's parked on the cold tiles of the family room with an eye open waiting for anyone who may try to walk past his domain!

Bec goes home today...sniff! So she's messing about with her bag right now.

Hi Fiaranch, how did the water leak turn out? No homicide I hope?

ldesim, that's crap, I hate technology when it doesn't work.

I have to fess up, I went back again and bought more Marika. If you had any idea of what we have to pay for this kind of stuff in Aus, you'd really understand why I am so obsessed. I hate to think how many ensembles I have, but dozens wouldn't be exaggerating.

Zills, I'd love to see that outfit too!

How did the Rites go? Baby steps, no more than 3 reps of each pose for the first week. Then just one rep increase per week after that. I hope you get as much of a great result from it as I have.

Beer cheese? I have never heard of that, what on earth does it taste like?

Wher's Bobo? I think she may be unconscious from that "cocktail" she spoke of yesterday! I am with you ldesim, I wouldn't have been able to lift my head either. She may have just melted into the couch!

I am off to water the veggies before it reaches the top temp for the day. It is already around 30c at 10.30am.

    Take it easy...M x

Been having intermittent internet problems, very frustrating!  Trying to catch up on 3 forums and keep getting kicked off line. :(

fiaranch, love the pix!!  That must be a very special GF your DS has there.  Hope the "assistant" job didn't last too long and I really hope you got the pipe fixed!

ldesim, sorry about the tumble! Hope you don't find any owies later in the day as a result.  Yep the fusion was no fun.  My DH had already passed so I had to take care of myself alone.  A friend came and spent the first night but after that alone.  I had gotten permission from ins to stay another night in hospital, but the dr said no, only one night. But I managed, just like now.

Yes, the Angel Cards are all positive and uplifting. Words like courage, balance, love, power, forgiveness, delight, abundance, etc. There are also 2 blank ones that you can choose the word. At least 50 cards (they are smaller than a stick of gum  wrapper) maybe a few more so you could choose a different one each day if you wanted.  I keep them in a pretty box that my DD gave me years ago.  Once a year is enough, but sometimes I do pick a birthday card too.

Zills, yeah I took a look at Marika too but nothing was really calling my name there.  There are still some Marika items on zulily too.  Sounds like a fun evening ahead for you!

I've put together "ensembles" like that before when rushing out to get to the PO before it closed.  I looked at myself when I got home and thought "WTF was I thinking?!"  I think we have all done it at some point in time.

    Hugs for all!

ldesim, I hadn't read that post about your Treadmill  catastrophe, crap that must have hurt! I hope you're OK, and haven't had any soreness today. I must have the playschool version, mine won't even start till you attach the doohicky key that makes it stop, if you fall and pull the key out. Thankfully I haven't had any mishaps on mine.

I did have a very strange one from a vibration machine, no girls, not one of those, but the one you stand on and it vibrates all your muscles. They were the next big thing a few years ago, and of course, Miss Consumer here, had to have one, so I use this thing every day, and one night I am sitting watching TV and this big golden light, like a bolt of lightning goes across my vision in my right eye. I realize this isn't normal and go around the corner to our local Hospital. The Doctor takes a look and decided I need to see an eye specialist asap, the damn vibrating had torn my retina, slightly. So, many tests later, and thankfully no surgery, I managed to get an all clear. The almost new Vibrating Platform went on Ebay!

Wow Ariom!  How scary that must have been.  As a diabetic, retinopathy is a real danger if numbers get out of control.  I am well controlled, but still have to have eye exams each year to make sure my retina are still OK.

Hey GrammaB!  How many did you have fused? From the front or back? Any problems now? How long ago?  Let's swap notes!!  Not a fun surgery or recovery! Gives new meaning to "pain in the neck" doesn't it!  LOL

I had 4 done in 05, from the front. Because that is stable now, I have: kyphosis, scoliosis, radiculopathy, and C7-T1 is giving me fits.

    Your turn

The retina issue is no laughing matter, I've always thought the worst thing ever would be to lose eyesight.. but omg I am laughing thinking of M strapped to a machine and vibrating... honestly I can't stop laughing just thinking of it!!!!.

Sorry you are having internet issues GB, that's very frustrating.

Wren, Samantha sounded sweet.  I had a tiger cat years ago that would follow me wherever I went.  If I went to the convenience store a few blocks away, he would wait outside the store for me.  He's been gone close to 20 years, but I still miss him terribly.

I'm having problems typing anywhere.. something is loopy with the keyboard... but damned if I know what it is.

ldesim, I wasn't tied to the vibrating machine, it was the treadmill! LOL But thanks for your sympathy....NOT!Happy

I have an eye full of floaters, and stuff that looks like seaweed waving around, but each time I have it checked it seems to have reattached and is fine.

I have just gotten home from a trip into town to our big pharmacy warehouse. Everything is 1/2 price today so I went to get our usual supplements and Colin's fave shampoos etc. I went past Aldi and thought I would drop in and see if they had any Magners Irish Cider, Bec, and Colin's fave drink. They had some and I also found a sun lounge, some garden flares for New Years and lots of reduced Christmas treats. So we are eating Christmas food for dinner tonight.

Bec changed her ticket to stay another night because the extreme heat has caused some rail problems. It should be cooler tomorrow, so she's here till tomorrow evening...bonus!

Hearing about 2 of you having cervical fusions makes my blood run cold. I spent a week in the acute neurological ward of a Hospital in Melbourne for an injury caused  by a Chiropractor. They wanted to fuse C5/6 through the front, but I managed to dodge that bullet by a "bees dick"! The ironic thing is that Colin's injury is C5/6, complete quad.

I am worried about our Bobo again. I shouldn't have been so flippant about her medication cocktail, she may not be well again. Sorry Bobo! Let us know how you're doing.

    Take care everyone...M x

I'm posting this technique before I lose it. I was given one for appetite and I didn't want to start eating like a crazy lady.

No it shouldn't. But if you are interested in weight balance, sit on your hands with your palms either facing your body, or the chair/bed. This balances all sorts of things - weight, hormones, water, etc. See what that does!

    Hi All,

Hope you're all doing okay.  Gosh this page moves quick.  I'm sooooo hungover!  I had some friends around last night and I drank 2 bottles of wine!  Oh my head hurts so much! Sick I don't drink often but when I do I go for it big time!!!!

So glad there is a bit of treadmill action going on out there!  I'm ashamed to say that I have been on mine yet, but I will tomorrow....promise!  I don't think my legs and my brain are attached right now!  The vibrating machines are the next big thing over here!  I reckon we are about 3 years behind the rest of civilization.  I never fancied it again after the gym b!tch made me plank while vibrating.  she nearly killed me!  I definitely won't ever go on one if it detached your retina, bloody hell.

I don't ever make new years resolutions because I ALWAYS break them.  I've been having counselling and she has said that if I lower my benchmarks and expectations, I won't be so disappointed if things don't go my way!  I've been living by this for a few months now and I have to say, life is much better!  I just bob along and take each day as it comes.

I hope everyone is well and taking it easy over the holiday season.  I'm doing some more tattoo research today to see if I can come up with some ideas to take to my lovely tattoo lady next week.

I'll keep checking back today, I don't want to miss anything! Winking

Idesim. Do you have a bruise to match bobo?

SG. Water leak fixed? Boy loves to be a helper. Me not so much. DH not always patient.

    Hi Granwe!

    M. So glad you got another day with Bec! Yes only 3 rites. I've gotten texts from bobo. Her parents are back and the kids are home. Bedlam.

Fia. I love that pix. Sent it to DH. Hope he gets the message! Had more sweating incidents lately. Chalked it up to poor diet. Chocolate and caffeine late would give me the midnight sweats before bc.

Maybe beer cheese is a KY thing. It's a spicy cheese spread served with crackers or carrots/celery. Most commercial varieties are a smooth paste. Mine is just shredded cheddar, spice mix, beer thins the mayo.

Had fun at the party. But some had the time mixed it. Fatigue hit at 8 so I left. Hadn't seen some for a year. No outstanding apps. Lots of homemade candy and cookies. PB fudge but no chocolate:(

Roadblock on the way home. No I don't wear a seatbelt. Officer asked if I had any proof of my surgery. I said want to see my scars or radiation burn? He declined. Said I needed to get a note from the DR. Didn't give me a tix. I figured my lack of hair would give me away. This is the south where big hair and long hair reigns!

Baby slept in until 8. Boy up early. Time for the chaos to start.

Hi Zills, I think I need a JS move, to remove my appetite. We have done nothing but eat for days. I have no willpower whatsoever. I'll try sitting on my hands!

Thank for the update on Bobo, her parents are back again? Wow!

Glad you had fun at the party, even if it was an early night. That's so funny, offering to flash your scars to the Cop. Seat belts are mandatory here, I don't think you can get a note from the Doctor, at least I have never heard of it.

Hi Vivtwins! Sorry you're suffering,  hope you feel better tomorrow!

I am not into making New Year Resolutions either, I prefer to just take it one day at a time, and if I want to make a change I'll do it.

I didn't have definitive proof that the Vibration Machine caused the tear, but the Doctors thought it was likely to be the cause. That was enough for me to get rid of the machine.

I am very interested in your Tattoo research.

Nearly 1am here, cool change came through a couple of hours ago. Bec is watching Jaws..again, I have to go to bed .....chat tomorrow  M x

Lots of reading to catch up on!! Jaws! that is my fav scary movie... I remember watching it for the first time in Winnipeg, MB with friends, and one of the times the shark made a surprised visit.. dh declared loudly "that SOB" everyone around us cracked up. Love the movie tho. Glad you got an extra day with Bec and got to eat lots!! Didnt we all? no new year's resolutions here either.

Yikes, idesim, hope you are ok from the fall, butt bruise contest between you and Bobo?? Hope Bobo is ok, last thing I would have wanted was a house full after my surgery... some help yes, but that isnt what she gets it seems.

Zills, love the answer to the cop! glad to hear you had a good time.

Vivtwins, hope you are feeling better too. I havent had a hangover for a long time, but remember them well! I like wine but the stuff gives me hot flashes... and they have just started to subside a bit.

I have to catch up on laundry and cleaning today, it is storming here, so cant go anywhere anyway, and next week we are really hitting the deep freeze again... f this cold! I should be in Florida on the sand and beach and taking care of Bobo!!

Hi everybody, but especially spookiesmom and grammaB who are
probably wondering where I disappeared to this time. Thanks for the
    welcomes.

I've wanted to get back here more, but life gets in the way.

    Two
weeks after surgery I was back at the doctor's office with abdominal
pain and what seemed to be a UTI, but the culture for bacteria was
negative. By the next week, I was supposed to be meeting with my
oncologist (Is that what MO stands for?), but more abdominal pain sent
me to the ER instead. Guess what? Appendicitis! That bought me surgery,
two more nights in the hospital, and some more incisions to heal. It
seemed strange that considering my age, D, recent surgery and mild COPD
they gave me the option of sending me back to the big city hospital in
Minneapolis but I decided to stay near home so they put me in the critical care unit. Later, when I saw the pathology report, it said the appendix had burst on removal.

    We
never did send cards or get our Christmas tree up. I may still get the
wreath up by the front door because we usually leave that up at least
through January. Minnesota needs a little color this time of year. On
Christmas day, I brought two pans of lasagna to our family get-together
with our three sons, DIL and two grand-kids but I didn't even have to
worry about having a clean house. Most laid back Christmas ever.

    Meanwhile,
with a total mastectomy and a clear sentinel node, I'm skipping right
past radiation, but I still don't know about chemo. I did get to see the
oncologist a week late. The most productive part of the visit is that when I mentioned my throat was still sore from the breathing tube during the appendectomy, he took a look at my throat and recognized that the real problem was thrush, so he prescribed Diflucan. He says the pre-surgery pathology report said 41% ER+ but the post-surgery report said only 4% ER+. The Oncotype DX will be the tie breaker
that decides if there is a reason to expect positive results from
chemo. He probably has the results by now, but I don't expect to see
them until January 7. Everything has gone SO smoothly for me (other than the appendix stuff) that I think the waiting has really been the worst of it.

Molly! I thought you walked to Morris' house for some sun!! Good to see you back here, but sorry for the reason. Yes, MO is medical oncologist, the one who does chemo. It's a whole other language.

Jaws is also one of our favorite movies, but living in Winnipeg makes it a safe scarey movie.  Watching it in Australia, is an entirely different matter!!!
