Zils, I have more fat on my @ss than Bobo.. so no bruise How long are you supposed to hold the pose for it to be effective? I too need the one for appetite as well! I'm glad you didn't get a ticket but would you have flashed him? lol.. something tells me you just might have.
Did 40 mins today at a moderate speed (fast walking).. I found that m y little netbook will sit on the machine nicely so I watched the finale of Masterchef Jr. and that kept me occupied! Celeb Big Brother UK starts next week for like 3 weeks.. so I can watch an episode a day and only let myself watch it on the treadmill.. that will keep me interested for a bit.. hopefully.
M, how wonderful that you got bonus Bec time!! Nothing quite like a nice 1/2 off sale and sounds like there was plenty of stuff left for you to choose from and a bonus 2nd xmas dinner lol.

Page change! I just noticed Bobo has entered bdays at the end of her original post lol.
hmmm.. she has been missing for some time hasn't she.
Viv, I can't even remember the last time I got so sh!tfaced that I had a hangover... a good 10 years anyways. I know what planking is, but I still don't visualize this vibration thing.. need to look it up. Get on that treadmill, you only have 9 months to get to wherever the hell that was.. the northerly end. Agreed on lowering expectations.. it does make a great deal of sense.
Great beer cheese description, reminds me of those cheese spreads that have wine in them and like nuts or something on the edges.
Ndgirl, I remember jaws too... we used to go to the Cape for a couple of weeks every summer... tourism suffered a great deal after that release. We too are hitting a deep freeze starting Tuesday from the sounds of it Hopefully we get rid of all the precipitation on Monday so there won't be any snow!

Hi Molly.. good to see you again! Sorry about the appendix issues.. bursting upon removal is for sure too close for comfort! Yikes! Your xmas this year sounded like mine last year, which I had found so enjoyable I somewhat carried it on this year as well. Our Bobogirl has/had thrush as well.. sounds so uncomfortable. Waiting til Jan 7 sucks!!! Oh well we will wait with you
Hi TB
My fav scary movie is Exorcist.. the only movie to really scare the crap out of me Other than that I loved the Saw movies.
Spookiesmom.... ouch!! sounds painful Something tells me if you tried beer cheese you w. ould remember it
I'll pop in later... Viv.. "don't want miss a thing" by Aerosmith has been playing in my damn head since you posted it earlier.. curses to you!
Brrrrrrr!!! It's getting cold out

Spookiesmom, I had C6&7 fused from the front in '99. No further problems from that. I now have a bulging disc at L4&5, and all this gobble de gook of medical jargon (which just means my fricking lower back hurts!): Lumbosacral spondylosis w/out myelopathy, Lumbago, Spinal stenosis in lumbar region w/out neurogenic claudication, Acquired spondylolisthesis, and Thoracic or lumbosacral neuritis or radiculitis, unspecified. I had 2 rounds of steroid shots at L4/5 and L5/S1 at the beginning of this year. They are keeping the pain at bay and hopefully will continue to.
ldesim, yes going blind is a terrible thing. My late DH was an avid reader and loved to watch old movies on TV. As his sight went, due to diabetes his quality of life declined considerably. I read to him, but his favorite Hungarian sport paper was written in Hungarian so I couldn't help with that. And TV, will you miss a lot not being able to see....
Ariom, I have a good sized dark floater in my left eye. Had it a couple years now. Most of the time I can ignore it, but every once in a while I'll catch sight of it and think it is a bug and it startles me. Sounds like you scored with the shopping!! So glad that Bec gets to stay another day with you!
I've been worrying about our bobo too. She has been so quiet. Hope at some point she can pop in and give us an update.
Zills, I am going to try that! Nothing wrong with getting things in balance! Thanks for sharing.
Posting just so it doesn't disappear on me.
More coming,
Hugs

Hi viv! I have wonky knees so I opted for an elliptical instead of a treadmill. I was doing fine on it up to dx in July, but after that, nada! I really need to get back on it! From Ariom's experience with the shaker thingy, I'll pass on that one! Hope you are feeling better.
Zills, oh dear, poor bobo, no wonder she hasn't the energy to post. Hope she gets her home back to herself soon.
The beer cheese sounds yummy. Would you pm me the recipe?? Really, a note from the dr? Can you tolerate a small pillow under the seat belt at your chest. That is what I still do, just for protection.
Hi Molly! Good to see you posting again! So sorry for all you have had to go through on top of the sx. Another term you might see is RO Radiology Onc, but sounds like you won't be needing one. I only met with mine once before sx, and since no rads here either, haven't seen him since. Yeah, the worst thing I think about the bc $hit is the waiting! Hope you can ditch the chemo too! Had a very laid back Christmas here too, still not a lot of energy for all the extra decorating and running around shopping.
Hi TB! LOL, you do have a point there!
Posting cause I'm at the end of the page and I see there is more to read....
Hugs

Good Morning from Downunder!
Another beautiful day, but after going to bed at 2am, I feel like I have a hangover! We made it to the end of Jaws....just, we were all fading fast. It is 9am now and I just got up.
Hi Molly, oh poor you, Appendicitis, how dreadful, it's a terribly painful thing. I copped mine as a teenager, when on Holidays up North, with my parents. It was bad enough having Appendicitis, but they thought I was putting it on so I didn't have to go home!
gB, you've had a rough time with those back issues. I hope the steroid injections last a loooong time!
I have that freak out because I think it is a bug I am seeing, all the time. I don't know how these eye things work, but sometimes mine is much worse than others. The funny thing is that when I have my normal annual eye test, they tell me they can see all this floating debris, but I really don't need glasses, which is nuts, because I wear glasses all the time. They have the weakest lens in one eye but I feel everything is too grey without them.
ldesim, I'm with you! The Exorcist was so scary! I watch all the creepy ones on cable like A Haunting and creep myself out.
I keep meaning to tell you that "The Block" is coming back. This time it is inside a huge box and they have to build a house from the inside, out! The twins from the last "Block" and I think Amity and Phil from one years ago, are involved too. I have only caught one promo, so I am not too sure exactly what it is all about, but I thought you'd be interested.
Now you've got me humming Aerosmith...damn!
Bobo has been MIA for a long time now. Aren't you getting text messages any more? I hope she's ok. Zills did say the family were back didn't she? When had she organized to go back to work? I am not familiar with your Holiday times. It must be fairly soon, though.
Be back later.....M x

I think classes at Bobosgirl univ won't start till Jan 6. She's probably up to her ears with MD. DD and the grands go back then.
Watching the grands tonight. Hope it's an early night for nana, bunch of rain coming in ahead of a cold front. May get an inch. But can't remember the last time we got more than a sprinkle.
0 -
Thanks for that Spookiesmom. I sure hope she has more time off. It will be the 6th before we know it.
I vaguely remember her asking if a couple or 3 weeks would be enough time off. I'm not sure if she ever posted how long she would have at home.
0 -
Airom, a lot of the time I don't even notice it floating there, but sometimes it becomes really visible and usually startles me. I instinctively swat as if at a bug and then realize it is the floater.
Spookie, I hope the grands tire quickly so you can have an early night!
Hugs to all!

At the time, none of us foresaw the problems she would have. Three weeks seemed like it would be enough time. I hope if she needs more, she can get it.
0 -
Oh, they're going to bed by nine tired or not! I used to say to DD I'm tired and you have to go to bed.
Just hope their parents come home early.

GrammaB, wow you have had the back troubles for sure, my bf has anklylosinspondilitis sp? degenerative disease of back, and she suffers alot. Last year she tried to go off the extremely expensive medicine that also have horrible se, but she had a hell of a year, pain was unbearable and she of course was depressed, she finally went back on the shots of remicade and is doing so much better. I understand the fear of the se but she had no life without the meds, glad we have her back cause she is a crazy lady otherwise.
The Excorist, saw that and think i had nightmares for ever! It was spooky wasnt it? dont care for the thrillers too much anymore, now I want to be entertained and lots of comedy! life is scary enough.
Hope your grands go to bed early Spookiesmom, I know how they can tire us out. but enjoy them.
Kinda worried about Bobo, I wouldnt be surprised if she has to go back on Jan 6th, hopefully she can handle it.
Idesim, when you say you went to the Cape for vacation, that is one place on my must do list too. Would love to see it. and Jaws would have a bigger impact there i am sure..we would have frozen shark here for sure.

Hey there my ladies -- miss you. Skimmed over the texts best I could, but not an official catch up. So glad you care about where I am but don't want you to worry. Here are some updates:
- In pretty intense pain all the time. 6 pain meds left. Doing advil and V three times a day. That's once every seven hours.
- one of my drain sites is most likely infected. Starting the third week with this drain. It hurts like a b1tch every second. If DLLP touches it I scream in pain, then go to the children with a fake smile and say, That's okay! Everything's great!
- every time I'm in a lot of pain I dry heave or nearly throw up. Throw up rises to the top of my throat.
- not even close to getting enough protein. Do not fool yourselves. Rarely in a comfortable position.
- MD is in town, along with my dad. Quick excerpt. As DLLP and I went out for a quick shop, my MD was going to make dinner. DLLP had brought her some fish sticks from the allergy free health food store.
Me: Could you steam them up some broccoli? I have a lot of fresh veg, I want to use it up.
MD: No. I am not Betty Crocker.
No nap for the past two days because of company. Wish I could treadmill with you! Miss you guys and will catch up more tomorrow. M, sorry no figuring out Skype but I was just keeping my head above water today. Went to new thai restaurant for lunch before shop, food came, didn't feel well enough to eat it, crawled to shop, went home. XXX

Oh bloody he11 Bobo, I need to have a word with MD, the Diva! What on earth is she thinking? I'll give her Betty Crocker! I am so sorry that you've had such a dreadful time of it. As if the pain isn't bad enough, you've got this shit going on as well. I think you may be glad to get out of there and back to work!
No problem, about the Skype, send me your Skype name and a time and I'll do it from here.
I have to tell you, though, you could use a laugh! Here I am expecting the Skype to notify me that you're on the line, I hang around, then I take the laptop all around the house, out into the garden, back in the house with me, just in case I miss it, nothing, nada, then I thought, you must have done a "Need a Nap, Face Plant" from all the drugs and were out cold on the couch. Bec and Colin are asking me what I am doing, carrying this laptop all over the place with me. It was pretty silly!
I am so sorry you couldn't eat your Thai food. It will be better when the "rellies" have gone, and you are alone in the tiny house again. M x

I'll come with Ariom to give MD hell. That woman is lucky to be alive considering her behavior. What did she feed you growing up? TV dinners? Wish I could send DH up to cook up a veggie feast. How much longer before you can boot MD out? (((((HUGS)))))

bobo, I'm right there with Ariom and Wren ready to give MD her walking papers!! Crazy, just crazy!! She can't steam veggies??? Holy carp! I so hope you can get some food in, so you can get some strength and heal. ((((hugs))))

So who cant steam a veggie?? Good grief! kick her to the curb and get some rest. Cant stand to think about all your pain, please let this be done soon. sorry you didnt get to eat at the new restaurant.. Hope you can get something good to eat, and some rest.
I am with the rest of these gals, on board to send her packing. when is she leaving? Thinking of you and sending good thoughts your way... take care.

ooooooh we are a feisty little bunch here! All ready to gang up on Bobo's Mom!
We are all here for you Bobo, just wish one of us was close enough to call in and throw a meal together for you.
I am just back from dropping Bec at the station. She is working tomorrow and a half day on Tuesday, then back on the train for New Years Eve, it is approx 4hrs each way, and home again on New Years Day to be back at work on the 2nd. I think she'll be exhausted, but she wants to do it! I am not complaining.
I have washed all the sheets and cleaned the room ready for my friends who arrive tomorrow. I love having them here, we have been friends for nearly 40 years and worked in TV together. the husband has just gone out as a freelance cameraman after many many years with a big network. He always has wonderful interesting stories. He's been working on a show called Grand Designs Australia. I think ldesim may know it, she likes the same shows as I do.
The wind has picked up and the temperature has dropped to the 20's, but I have leaves that have blown in to sweep now, so I will catch you all later...M x

Ariom, I am so happy that you can have your friends visit! I hope you have the greatest time together! Bec is coming back to you for New Years? Sorry I got lost there a bit...

Yes gB, when Bec was applying for the leave time, she was nervous about asking for the whole Christmas and New Year vacation time, in case they just knocked it all back. She thought if she just applied for the days over Christmas she would have more chance of getting the time. She discovered after she had the Christmas days approved that she could have had both, but someone had applied and had them approved before she knew that. Ah, such is life! She will be back again on Tuesday evening and doesn't leave again till 4.30pm on Wednesday. She adores my friends who will be here, she has known them her whole life, and the other people we have coming for the evening, have a daughter that Bec gets on very well with. She has recently moved back here from Melbourne, so I think she is getting Bec more interested in a possible move here too. As much as I would love it, I am not getting involved, it has to be all her own idea, if she is considering the move.
I am so tired, I could put my head down and sleep. I have another big food shop to do tomorrow for the 12 guests that will be here for NYE. I will be glad when it is all over! M x

do the hold 3-5 minutes. You might hear your stomach gurgling or feel pulses in your fingers. Sometimes it works immediately and sometimes it takes a day or so.

Hi All , This is how I am feeling this am !!! Bobo OMG the MD............... I would have had to shove the broccoli someplace !!! Wren, ND and the rest of us need to come and handle her
Idesim - Sorry but the treadmill incident did crack me up ........... I finally gave mine away because all I did was hang dirty clothes on it ...............
Zills - Great cop comments. Last year I got pulled over and the cop says "are you going to a fire" My 80 yr old mother says now she is trying to get me to the hospital, I think I am having a heart attack. He says ok be careful and lets us go . I tell her you are going to hell for lying . She says well living this long has to have some benefits !!
M - Enjoy your company , and more of Bec, and of course your new Marika purchases
GrammaB and Spookie so sorry about your back problems
My plumber assistant job lasted 4 hours, he may have fixed it temporarily (has to dry for 14 days ) fixing it permanently will involve tearing out drywall in the whole upstairs FOCK !
I am not done writing but I am posting this before I lose it. WTH is going on with this site ............. curser jumping all over the place !!

Good Morning,
I have been keeping up reading everyone's posts! My arthritis is really bad and can barely type, but wanted to say hi and hope everyone has a good day today. Susan
0 -
Hello Sgc. sorry about the darn arthritis, does warm weather help it? I have a touch of it at times, but no warm weather for me here for a few months, many people in cold like here find the dry warm AZ weather helps. Not sure how you weather is in Virginia. Hope you feel better soon. Just kick back and read all our crazy stuff!! Well, not so crazy really, I love this thread the most! Take care.

Gray and gloomy here today, temp holding at freezing. I'm going to have to bundle up a bit to take the garbage up to the road.
Airom, got ya! How fun you get one more little visit with her!
Fiaranch, I love it! "If you want to suck the life, suck the fat too"!! Man that really $ucks about the plumbing!! Thanks re the back issues. At least the shots are still working and the pain is bearable.
Sgc, sorry about the arthritis. I have it badly in both thumbs, but only the left one hurts for some reason. I had a shot in it in Nov that didn't really work as well as the first one I had in 2012. That one lasted a year and a half or more before the pain came back. This one not so much I have periods of aching already. And I find the brace very annoying to wear, but need to sometimes.
ndgirl, I don't notice much difference in the pain level from cold to warm weather. I see more of a difference from over use.
Hugs!

Morning, from chilly Downunder, only 7c this morning!
Hi Fiaranch, 4 hrs, that was a marathon. I do "assistant" duties for Colin, so I can sympathize!
sgc, Arthritis sucks! Rheumatoid since F '96! my hands have been swollen this past month or so, but the rest of me has been pretty good. The different weather makes no difference to mine, hot or cold it can act up.
I hope yours backs off soon.
Hi Zills, I am going to have a good look at that JS. I hope you're feeling good after a really busy time. Are the kids well?
I have to get started on getting ready for more guests and more food shopping. This has really been a bit of a deterrent for me. I didn't eat much yesterday, 'cause I am so over looking at food. I hope it lasts! Take care...m x

Freckles update: He was adopted today by a very nice man who is a caretaker for a young man with disabilities. He promised F would be surrounded by love 24/7. What more could a cat wish for?
0 -
Wren,
That is just awesome !!!! I am amazed by your animal fostering !!!
0 -
Excellent news Wren!!! Sounds like his forever home is awesome!
0 -
Wren, such good news, yes what more could a cat want, and the person with disabilities will just be thrilled. Animals are so great for caring, when my Dad was in nursing home, they would bring dogs and cats in, the residents loved them! And babies! Good for you for doing that.
