Zills thanks for the input on massaging. I think I will start. I may have to utube it to show me what and where I should be massaging. I have a gym membership but have had it on hold for six months since I was going through treatment. I need to reactivate it and start going, just still tired. I was beating myself up because of the tiredness but I am only three weeks out from the last surgery. So I guess I need to give myself a break and that surgery was number 4 in six months.
Grammab yes I am healing well so PS gave me the script for the prosthesis. Mrs. Impatient kinda pushed it!! He said to only wear them for four hours a day for the next two weeks. I wore them today to work they weren't bad. They are heavy, but I think I can get use to them. I luv the way they look and makes me feel more confident. Back was bothering me a little, but it did seem to balance me out. Sorry your back is bothering you. Hope you feel better soon!
Ariom thanks for the suggestions on foobs. I ordered the microbead foobs from Mary today. She seems like a real sweetheart. I had some questions and she responded right away. Will look into the foam ones tomorrow.
Otceb yes I am the crazy one that will be trying the reconstruction again in about six months. I just want a break from seeing the PS. I am healing well, so that is why I wanted yesterday to be my last appt with him until I go back in 6 months. Maybe next appointment will be my last. I just need a break from all these drs. I am so happy that you are doing well after your first chemo treatment.
Ndgirl sounds like a great trip! Nothing like relaxing after a stressful year. It has been a very stressful six months for me. Now that I am back to living I am trying to do fun things for myself after a hard fight with BC treatments.
Wrenn I may check out the bras you mentioned that you can get at Walmart to put the micobead foobs in. I luv lingerie so would like to change it up! I am such a girly girl!!
Virtual hug to everyone!!

Hi all, Back from the Courthouse! It was interesting, very civilized, and everyone was so pleasant. It was just a small matter for the carer, but she needed moral support and it looks good if the wife of a "client" is a supporter. I just clock it up to another experience!LOL
ndgirl, welcome back. Your Holiday sounds just lovely. I am so glad you had such a good time. It's funny how we don't realize how much we need it, till we actually go away!
Togetherness! so pleased you have been in touch with Mary and hope the Foobs work for you. These are very light, so can't be used in every situation because they can ride up. I have worn mine pinned in to a shape wear tank that tucks in to my jeans and found them very comfy. I now use them inside a swimsuit and they are perfect.
The massage for your chest starts out very gently, till you get used to it. Using the flat of your hand with a really nice oil with plenty of "slip", massage in a circular motion all the way from abdomen to neck. When you can handle more pressure, use the flat of your four fingers to move the skin, still in circular motion. As long as all is healed along the scar line you can move this area too. This will keep everything supple and no adheasions. It also helps with the sensations that you can feel, and I think it helps the brain connection for acceptance too, but that's just my opinion.
Amoena has some really nice Mx bras. They certainly aren't all big straightjacket looking things, like some are. I was a lingerie lover before and nothing has changed, well, one boob has changed! LOL I still love beautiful things!
Take a look at Ebay too. I have a couple of Amoena Lara bras that I bought very early on. They were $80.00 each in Aus, but I have recently bought a couple more from Ebay, new with tags and in different colors for $15.00 each. There are a lot of sellers who have new stock of older styles. If you keep a watch on Ebay you can find lots of interesting , super cheap buys. I have even found my favorite every day, go to bra, which is a fave of ndgirl too, the "Mona" by Amoena, which has been around for some time and is one of their best sellers, on Ebay for a very reasonable price.
It is definitely worth your while to try a range of styles on so you know what feels right and what fabrics, cut and coverage you prefer, also sizes vary, depending on style too sometimes.
The AhhBra, or completely knitted bras that have been on TV for some time can work well if you have a sore spot on the ribs etc. Again, it is just a matter of trial and error. Take car M x

Oh ldesim, I think you really need to come back to Aus!
You'll have everyone thinking they are cute!
Well, I must say that little guy is very cute, and I hate to see anything injured.
I had to get up early today to go out. I was in the bathroom getting ready and I could hear what sounded like someone knocking on the glass doors. I dragged on my gown and came out to find a big Egret, ( looks like a stork) on the patio, knocking on the window. It used to do that regularly last year, but this is the first time I've heard it this Summer.
I also heard about another Koala swimming across the straight from the Island. I have no idea where they think they are going! and who knew they could swim????
Hi otceb! gB, everyone else..Hugs..M x

A, have need of some translation, from Aus to yank. Is beet root what we would call red beet? What is a spring onion? What is rocket? Have you ever heard/tried Goodness Superfoods, available around Melbourne.
Interesting conversation at our dog park today about super grains. One mentioned was freekeh. Quinoa was another. I went to local store bought the freekeh. Sounds good. Found recipie that mentioned the above.
Oops, didn't hit cancel fast enough. This sounds good too

Hi Spookiesmom!
How funny, I remember our translations when we started this thread. I explained what a Fanny is in Aus, not a backside, but a front side! I worked for United Airlines and I remember the Flight Attendants doing an announcement over the PA for a lost Fanny pack, and the Aussie passengers erupting into laughter.
Betroot is indeed Red Beet, supposed to be a good blood cleanser, but should be started slowly and build up amounts in juices etc. I am oretty sure a Spring Onion is a Scallion over there. It is a long green shoot with a white onion with fine white roots that hang down. Used in salads and great in Chinese soups. Rocket is one of the long leaf, open type lettuce. I grow them here, palish green and white, good for rolling up with fillings in it like San Choy Bow.
I was reading about Freekeh just the other day. I eat a lot of Quinoa because it is used a lot in breads and breakfast cereal here. You can buy it, and lots of other superfoods, in sachets and sprinkle them on anything.
I haven't bought anything from the company Goodness Super foods, but they have had some media coverage recently. I think they have a well known Diabetes Nutritionist as their spokesperson.
I had never heard of Aadobo, but just looked it up and it sounds delicious. Colin would love that.
Barry, the delivery man arrived with a big jar of his Olives, his Chilli Sauce and and a small jar of dried wild peppercorns. He is the most amazing guy, puts the wild olives that he picks from wild trees around the area, down for a year, cures in salt, no chemicals, and he has Chilli bushes that are the same height as he is. He makes the greatest Chilli sauce, that Colin loves, I can't take the heat! Barry doesn't even like the Chilli, but loves it when Colin tells him how good it is.
I will never get over the generosity here. I have to insist that Barry takes Figs, salad greens, and Grapefruit from my garden. He just loves to give, but not receive!
Just noticed Avocado at the bottom of that recipe. Would you believe that they are $5.00 each at the moment. I haven't bought one for ages. I usually eat 1/2 of an Avo every day. Also, Figs are nearly $3.00 EACH. I have a tree that is laden with them, not ripe yet, but many hundreds, if not thousands of Figs on the way!
Take care M x

Ariom, Adobo is used a lot in Filipino food. Lots of chili peppers canned in adobo sauce. Another name for rocket here is arugula. It grows in our climate like a weed. All the greens you'd ever want, but the tomatoes have to be babied from start to finish. DH adds quinoa and flax to oatmeal for breakfast. Between the freeze and drought in California, I fear our vegetable and fruit prices are going to go up.

Thank you ladies for some of the ideas, I do use Mary's microbeads inside a front close sports bra and the Genie bra works good too, most of the time but they do tend to ride up, I thought about some Velcro yo keep the girls in place. Wren, I think you may have mentioned to hold off on a heavier prosthetic until after rads and that is a great idea😄 Thank you for asking, Gavin will be 2 on 5/30/14, the day before my 1 yr dx😢 I have not been working since right before my Dx so I don't get out to often, mostly to travel the 3 hours to chemo and home so that is really the only time I wear my foobs, at home I just go w/o I have gotten much more comfortable it over the months. I was reading about the massage and I was never instructed to do that but I can see it would be beneficial.😄 Take care everyone nod have a great day.
Shary❤️

A thanks!
Here's the rest of those toasted chickpeas

Hi everyone! Quiet here this morning...
Shary, that's quite a trip to chemo for you. Is that driving time, round trip?
The riding up of the bras are definitely a problem for just about everyone. I did read somewhere about double ended suspenders. They have the catches at both ends and wide elastic in the center that can be adjusted up or down. You attach to your bra band and to your knickers! Just like when we used to wear stockings. I think I prefer the tank or cami tucked in, but it isn't for the very hot weather.
I think the massage is really important, I've been banging on about it here since I had my surgery. I started with aromatherapy oils in carrier the morning after my surgery. My surgeon removed the big surgical bandage and I had just see through tape over the incision, so I massaged everywhere, all around the tape. The aromatherapy oils I use are analgesic oils. I've been using them for the pain of Rheumatoid Arthritis for about 17 years. I didn't have any significant pain after my surgery and minimal bruising, so I didn't have any drugs after I woke. I was told they fill the chest cavity with anti inflammatory meds before they close, so that may be the reason for the lack of pain.
Spookiesmom, Thank you for that, and I agree, I couldn't wait for that to cool either! LOL
Take it easy, be back to see if anyone's been around...M x

Hi Everyone,
Feeling a bit overwhelmed as I read the last few pages! Let me just say that I am hoping that anything broken was fixed, weather has gotten better for all, babies have found other interests, renovations are near completion, everyone is healing that needs to, and welcome home to those who were blessed with time off!
I have been exhausted, feeling lousy, and having heart problems along with swollen feet. Saw BS today who contacted Oncologist who set up another echo. I doubt I will be having an infusion tomorrow as planned!
So, today was the first time I was told that I needed to massage my scars. Silly me, they were so sore I couldn't stand clothing next to them. In my defense, I had started putting Aquaphor on the last week and they don't look bad at all! So now I will become diligent and massage, massage, massage. I would love a back massage. Since I had several lymph nodes removed can I still have one? Are deep tissue massages a memory or can I still get my preferred Swedish massage?
I do pray that all is well with my "besties". Zills I hope things have turned for the best for your grandmother. Always, Susan

otceb, no falls on the ice. Got it all covered with kitty litter so it isn't a slick, but I am still really careful.
Nothing is melting yet, today woke to 0°F (-17.8°C) and in 4 hours it is all the way up to 2°F (-16.7°C) my guess that will be our high. It is clear with just a little wind so the snow is really glittery in the sun. I hope everyone back East/NorthEast is safe and warm! It is dreadful back there!!
ldesim, how cute is that roo??? I hate to see injured animals too, but he looks to be on the mend. How is the weather there?
Togetherness, I heal really fast too. I'm glad you were able to get your foobs sooner than later. My back is getting better each day, thank goodness!! I really didn't want to have to go to the dr for more shots.
Ariom, I often have egrets/herons here. There is a bird sanctuary not far from here and they often come to fish in my seasonal stream or the creek on the edge of my property. Took this picture a couple of years ago. He is standing in my seasonal pond.
Spookie, can you eat chick peas? They spike me something terrible. I forgot are you T1 or T2? I'm non-insulin T2 so have to stay away from any potential "spikey" foods. The recipe looks good though.
I am worried about veggie prices this summer too Wren. Much of what we get here comes from CA. The growing season here is pitifully short. I do treasure the farmers markets for as long as they last.
Wow, Shary, that's a long way to go for chemo. Do you have someone that goes with you?
Hugs for all!

Idesim, your kangaroo is adorable. And M, what does that egret want? Why don't you give him his breakfast?! He is probably jealous: barry the postman gets figs, the gardeners get tea cakes and cappuccini, and he, the egret, gets nothing.
Spookie. I definitely want some of those chickpeas. But I do not feel like making them! Will you make them and bring them to me and we can eat them while watching a movie?
In the thick of birthday preparations for our princess. Made apple pear crumble for tomorrow's school party. This weekend, home party: MD coming, she is running for president, gathering info to put on grapevine. She has already signed on for the next sx, wants to stay at the house, doesn't want to miss a thing. I am grateful for the help, but nervous. Last time she went to the bathroom in the buff. I caught her in the hall. Have I mentioned she had her breasts redone? I was fresh out of mx surgery.
Must make vegan chicken and dumplings, special salad and dressing, garlic bread, and a homemade allergy-free "castle cake with brownie bricks" as was seen in the princess' book THE PRINCESS AND THE PEANUT ALLERGY. And wrap presents. And grade 40 quizzes. And do 2 rounds of pt exercises and scar massages. XX

it's amazing what 24 hours and good drugs can do. Granny got up to the bathroom, ate breakfast, hands/feet warm and swelling noticeably down. She knew me and pix of the boy. Not DH or the baby. I'm happy.
The elliptical kicked me bum today. Could only go 10 min and a quarter of a mile. I have a spot the size of a nickel at the end of the scar under my armpit on bad side. Haven't noticed it before. A fluid filled pocket? Beginning of LE? Scar tissue? Have JS tomorrow. Maybe she'll know.
I was told massage ok. My masseuse wouldn't touch my chest. I never went but it sounds good, especially after exercise. I think a scalp massage would make hair grow faster.
Good luck SgC. And so sorry about all your SEs.
Anyone want to go to local hoochie coochie bar? Having a topless bull riding contest. The things you learn at Livestrong. I think this class is going to get kicked out of the Y.
Has anyone been brave enough to use the estring? For vaginal atrophy brought on by the lovely hormone blockers? Thinking my UTI symptoms are caused by that. Onc prescribed it but clearly states not for breast cancer patients. Guess it's a quality issue.
I love herons. Scared the one at the pond by doing my stretches there this summer so he? She? comes later. A flock of robins have been eating the crabapples at the post office.
$5 an avocado? Ouch! They were 49 cents before Super Bowl. I love Aldi! May try more to garden this year. Usually just do tomatoes. My neighbor used to dry the cherry/grape ones in the oven and eat like candy.
Should have plenty of room. Ice storm last night got the tops of the pines and willows. One end of road worse than other. Still snowing. Temps dropping. Fun again in the morning. Another system this weekend!
Stay warm and safe everyone. M and Dawny stay cool!

hey everyone! Zills, glad your grandma is better. I'm so proud of you for working out, i envy and admire your motivation.
Bobo, ever the busy girl, you never stop! So funny about MD in the buff, she's quite a character. At least she was a little useful last time.
gB, thanks for the pic of the heron, beautiful! City girl here needs to see wildlife. Glad you're safe and standing.
Susan, sorry you're not feeling great. Remember that you're only 3 weeks post sx, very fresh and still need your rest. I was not allowed to massage until 3 weeks post-sx, so you have not missed anything by starting now. I only massage once a day (and do stretches and LE massage twice a day), that's all i can commit to. I'm definitely no role model!
Shari, sorry you have to travel so far for chemo. At least if it was for a fun time! But i guess "chemo is our friend", right?!
M, you seem surrounded by great people! Barry, what a generous soul! And koalas swimming in the bay? Must be sooo cute!
Togetherness, i so get it about wanting a break from dr apts! I hope you get a good break before reconstruction.
Hi spookie, wren, idesim, ndgirl, etc.!
We got a massive dump of snow today. It was pretty but traffic and everything else was at a standstill. I shovelled 3 times, i'm wiped. I'll plan on not being home next time there's a snowstorm! Oh and DS announced that he has a girlfriend! His first! He says his favourite colours are purple and pink (yeah, i know) and that was enough to convince the little girl to choose him as her boyfriend. Now he draws pictures of them playing soccer. So cute!

sgc, sorry things are not going well for you right now. Hope things go well with the echo.
bobo, sounds like you have a busy weekend coming up. Happy Birthday to the Princess!!
Zills, so glad to hear your Granny is better! LOL, we'd be quite a sight topless bull riding at a hoocie coochie bar!!! Doesn't sound like a Y recommended activity!
0 -
Zills, glad to hear about your Granny, hope things go well. Boy the weather just wont give up it's rage will it? We dont have a bunch of snow, but terribly cold again this week...brrr. getting tired of this crap but not going to waste energy on things I cant change! Topless bull riding... that is over the top for us on this board.. we would give them a jolt I am thinking... too funny.
Otceb... a first girlfriend... how cute,, so it begins! Dont strain yourself shoveling this cold white stuff, DH has a snow blower and usually gets it done that way but sometimes I have to do some shoveling too, only good things is good air for the lungs and a little exercise!
Gb.. nice heron picture, we have some around in the spring but never come close to homes.
Bobo, a very Happy Birthday to our little princess! sure hoping MD will be of help and maybe keep some clothes on??? if she lived here she wouldn't be in the buff! freeze her butt and boobs right off
Idesim, love the kangaroo pic... even tho Ariom doesnt really like them or the koala bears!
Togetherness, you are very early out.. one thing I remember is on week 3 out I felt like I was going backwards and not forward in healing, dont worry, it will come along. I was so tight across my chest and feeling a little dumpy but you will come around too. Take care and take time for yourself.
Hi to everyone, dont mean to leave anyone out! take care all.

Thank you all for sharing about your massaging. I am definitely gonna try it even though PS says there is no need to. I don't think it can hurt. I will just take it slow.
Ariom you are a world of information on prosthesis. Thank so much. I will definitely check out eBay and see what I can find. I am liking the foobs. I can't believe how good they look under clothes and no one knows except me.
Otceb I can't believe you have been out shoveling snow. So glad you are feeling ok.
Grammb glad your back is better.
Bobo sounds like you are a great cook and you cook healthy too. I looked into the vitamix it is a little pricey for me. So will need to wait on that. I am still not eating.
I am going to go to a nutritionist who specializes in oncology patients to see what she may recommend. Something has happened to my appetite and not quiet sure if this is a post SE from the chemo or what. I had an orange today and that is all. I am perfectly fine not eating. I have litte energy because of not eating though. My DH made chicken parmigiana tonight for dinner and I couldn't even eat it. He does all the cooking. He is a great cook!! So something is definitely not right. I have been making smoothies in the blender and drinking them. I need to look for some recipe books that may be gluten free or healthy eating. Don't think I can go vegan, but definitely want to eat healthier when I do start to eat again.
Everyone in the snow stay warm!!

GrandmaB T2, insulin. OmniPod. Wonderful gizmo. Yes, I can eat and shoot for anything. I wasn't real impressed with them, thought they would be crunchier. Maybe the oven temp wasn't right. Didn't take long to make.
Suuurrrreee Bobo, I'll just zip on up 75.

Zills, My onc ok'd the Estring and I've been using it (was before BC also). He said it's pretty local and only raises general estrogen for a day or two after insertion. I did get a raised eyebrow from the pharmacist when I picked up Estring and Arimidex at the same time.
Glad to hear your Granny is feeling better. I had one who decided she'd be gone soon when her husband died when she was 70. Never bought a green banana after that and lived to 94. I'm not making that mistake. When it's my time, I'll be saying 'Sorry, can't go now; too much to do first.'
Had a huge parade for the Seahawks today. I was volunteering at the senior center, so not there. Way too cold for me anyway. Someone posted a cute video of celebrating crowds on either side of our area's main street - waiting for the light to change before crossing. An historic pergola downtown was damaged by excited fans walking on it. Someone started a crowd funding site and raised enough money to repair it. She wasn't a fan and the only Seahawk she could name was Sherman - and only his last name.
I really feel for you getting all the snow. Heck, I'm getting tired of reading about it. Can't imagine how tedious it must be to live through.
Bobo, be sure to tell the Princess Happy Birthday from all of us. Maybe point out to MD that people cover up at your house.
0 -
sgc, I am so sorry to see that you are having a rough time. I wish you all the very best for the tests and hope it is just a bump in the road that won't keep you down for long.
I couldn't wait to get back to having massages. I actually called my surgeon's office to check and he was fine with it. I think it is best to check because not all Doctors agree, we have very different protocol here for lots of things. I didn't go straight back to my Remedial Massage, but had a couple that were just relaxation massages. I asked my therapist to go light on my SNB arm and she still takes it easy. Having that first massage was one of the highlights of the recovery, my back was sore, and I felt pretty stiff all over.
I hope you get the go ahead and can enjoy the relaxation. M x

gB, that Heron is just like the one at my window! Bobo, I don't know what it wants. It possible just sees itself in the tinted glass, may have been coming here for years.
Happy Birthday to the Princess, please hug her for me!
Oh gosh, another MD story coming. A naked MD running around the tiny house with her perky boobies, what on earth was she thinking? Not a lot!
Take it easy and try to enjoy the party!
otceb, Your son sounds delightful!
Take it easy with that shoveling. You'll invoke the "Claw"! M x
Zills, I am so glad you still have your Granny! Good drugs and a day in the Hospital! LOL
I'll come to the Hoochie Coochie Bar with you, what a hoot. I love to do OTT stuff like that. Not the topless bull riding, but I'd love to watch it!
Togetherness, you are welcome! I am so pleased you are feeling confident in your foobs! I feel just like that too! Nobody knows unless I tell them. My Mother was the same. I remember when she had her Mx in '94. I never thought she'd handle it, but she was amazing. I thought I was going to lose her when she first got home with a raging infection, but she survived and never complained. She was a really stylish, sophisticated lady, but she never missed a beat, she accepted it and developed a great sense of humor about it. She got her Prosthesis and adapted her wardrobe around it. I know that her attitude, all those years ago are what made this an easy transition for me.
Great idea to go to the nutritionist, you will be able to ease back into eating the right things.
Now, you won't believe what I did last night! I told Colin I was going to buy a kids swimming pool because I have just been so hot, and I am paranoid about the sand flies at the beach. He talked me out of it, and bought a blow up spa pool instead. I was outside last night assembling it with Colin reading the instructions. We are a good team with me a the assembler of stuff! It was blowing a gale and I have to admit i wasn't that into it at first, but once I had it together and the filter and heater were working I started to think it may just be a good idea.
Well, today, I spent the afternoon in it and it was wonderful. It wasn't super hot today, but I took the temperature in the spa up to 39c, turned on the bubbles and lay back in the late afternoon sun! Ahhh...loverly!!!!
Hugs to everyone else....M x

Oh Ariom, your pools sounds just great! I am envious with our cold weather right now. I so enjoyed the weekend at Palm Desert and soaking in the hot mineral springs, felt so good. Maybe the sand flies made this happen for you! would be the only good thing about them right? Enjoy!
Zills, did you find out anything about the small fluid filled pocket? Could just be scar tissue but good to get it checked. Hope you are feeling stronger every day. I was never told to really massage the area after surgery but they told me to apply the scar with vitamin E oil, since reading this thread I have been doing the massaging. Will continue to do it.
hugs to all.

Oooooo that pool/spa sounds wonderful. I have bought kiddie pools for myself in the past. I'm not much for salt water. I like to see where my feet are. With stingrays, and sharks clear pool water works best for me.

This day just keeps getting worse! Middle of the night my power goes out. Oh, when I went to bed it was -20°F (-28.9°C). I got up to pee in the night and found no water, d@mn, frozen pipes!! Then when I went back to bed I noticed the clock was out, phew, I thought water is just off because power is out. (I have a well with electric pump.) Then later in the night, the power comes back on the heater is blowing and I think all is well and go back to sleep.
This morning, I get up, it is still -20°F and find still no water. Power is on so that means frozen pipes! ( Then I realize my furnace is still blowing, it never shut off. I check and it is blowing cold air!! Guess the pilot light went out when the power did. No wonder it is so freaking cold in the house! I turned off the furnace, but it would stop! WTF??? Just keeps blowing cold air. Covered all the vents but cold is still seeping out. At least my gas fireplace in the living room is still working. I'm huddled by it in the recliner. It only is warming about a 6' radius around it as the blowing furnace stops the heat from going very far.
So have calls into the Water guy and the Gas guy and am waiting for them. Right now it has warmed to -12°F (-24.4°C) supposed to hit a high of 2°F but I kind of doubt it. At least the wind has died down.
Oh and yesterday one of my toilets broke!! Another has a broken handle and can't flus, but I have the part so I can fix it. Fortunately the 3rd still works. I was always pretty confident with 3 bathrooms, that I could weather any outage/storm in the potty department anyway. Wrong!!
posting ..
just got a call from gas guy, he's close!!!
0 -
Poor GrammaB. You know you can manually flush the potty by pouring water in the bowl.
0 -
Oh GB how awful, could you just throw the breaker for the furnace?
Glad you gave more than one bathroom! Hope things get fixed soon. I feel your pain, living in the north is very harsh at times, this is the second coldest winter on record! Spring... Please come soon.
0 -
Zills, yeah, I know but I have limited water right now until the frozen pipes are taken care of. I've got 3 gals of drinking water + a case of 24/16 oz bottles. I also have 2 gallons of tap water that I keep for washing up. I almost bought a couple more gallons the other day at the store but then didn't. Sigh.
The Gas co. has been and gone. Not a gas problem. No power getting to the igniter on the furnace. Now have the Heating co. guy coming this afternoon. At least the gas guy turned off the darn blower so there is some relief.
If the water problem is at the pump house that will be a quick fix. When the power goes out, a switch turns off something at the well. If that's it, all they have to do is turn it back on. If not, then may be frozen by house, which means a plumber!!
0 -
otceb, how cute! Purple and pink, eh? We haven't gotten much snow, but cold, wow! When the water guy called, he said it got all the way down to -30°F (-34.4°C), it's now -2°F.
ndgirl, I get lots of birds here with the refuge nearby. Yeah, we haven't been this cold in several years, and then not THIS cold! At least next summer the yellow jacket problem will be much less. They were awful last summer!!
Togetherness, my back is much better, but today, I'm freezing my @$$ off! LOL Sorry about the lack of appetite, hope you get some answers soon about what is causing it. Good idea re the nutritionist. You are so lucky to have a DH that cooks!!
Ariom, the spa pool sounds divine!!
Spookie, in a way I envy the insulin usage. You can eat many more things and get away with it. But I have gotten used to my new way of eating, and really don't miss much at all in the way of carby foods. The 2nd of this month was my 2 year anniversary since D dx.
Hugs for everyone!

Update: The water guy's assistant came by. Turns out the heater in my pump house is dead. I have to go out and buy a new one, after furnace guy comes and fixes the furnace. Need that heat under the house from the ducts. Once new heater installed, the pipe should thaw in the pump house and I should have water once again. Praying for no broken pipes under the house. Gaaaah!!!!

omg GB, what a nightmare.. so sorry you are going through this I hope you get a quick resolution
Welcome back Ndgirl!! Glad you had such a nice time.. I bet you hated to leave.. love the sound of the mineral springs.!!
M, I am again so jealous!!! I was looking into buying something similar to that.. what did you end up getting? I didn't know Koalas could swim, their body doesn't really seem made for it. The egret story is so funny.. but is there worry that it can crack the window? I wonder why it does that. I am laughing over the Barry visit.. I am sure Bobogirl will be starting about the crush he has on you lol.
Zils, count me in on the hoochie coochie outing! Hell, I'll join the topless bullriding too as long as I'm not the only one, I'm sure we'd get LOTs of attention. So happy to hear about your grandmother! Mine is 101, but she now has dementia the poor thing. I would think I couldn't have estring because of the Estrogen? It's never been mentioned to me.
We got about 10 inches of snow.. it wasn't really too bad as it was over a 12 hour period and then most of it gone today from the warmer temps.
Hi Shary, welcome!
Sgc, I'm overwhelmed by this forum all the time lol... hard to keep up at times! I love how you summed up everything.

Sorry to hear about MD, but maybe she will somewhat behave herself and at least be a little help.. at least we can all hope so!!! I can't believe she was waltzing about with them all hanging out... Geez. I wish we lived close.. I would love to help with party prep and wrapping gifts!
